Why Listing Calorie Counts on Menus Can Do More Harm Than Good - Eater

"The panic started at Margaritaville. I was there reporting for another story, and ready to order the coconut shrimp I’d been dreaming about since I got the assignment. But next to the price was another number — 1370, the amount of calories in the entree. I felt a guilty flutter in my stomach, one I have done my best to kindly ignore since I was a preteen, but which is there no matter what I do. That was nearly a day’s “worth” of calories, and I’d already had breakfast and a margarita. I ended up ordering the coconut shrimp, which was delicious." - Jaya Saxena

My family and I are huge, generational Jimmy Buffett fans. As tourists, we’ve visited this CityWalk location several times over the last 30 years, and I’ve even stayed at the Margaritaville resort in Mexico (which is a 10/10, highly recommend). During this family dinner, a few things stood out. We sat in the main dining area and honestly regretted it; while the live band was great—playing a mix of Jimmy’s songs, originals, and covers—the volume was just too much for a dinner conversation. Next time, we’ll sit upstairs or outside for a better "chill beach vibe." The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The "Volcano Nachos" are massive and delicious, but don’t bother ordering them unless you have at least four people! We also had the soup of the day and some great cocktails. The coconut shrimp were incredible, but the peel-and-eat shrimp were a disappointment. For the price point, they were very dirty and we had to scrape them at the table, which was messy. They also arrived cold, which was off-putting, though the sauces were perfect. The service, however, was friendly and amazing throughout!

We spend a lot of time at Universal’s City Walk because of work, and when asked about my favorite lunch preference, I easily say Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. They have an island style menu, but my go-to for years has simply been the club sandwich. I cancel the aioli and get honey mustard on the side. The fries are always great, and I’ve eaten some bad fries in my time. We have been consistently disappointed with the hamburger, however, because medium always comes rare and greasy. One star= Skip it. They play Buffet songs as well as other fun songs you’ll recognize, and the theming and decor is TOP NOTCH. Lots to see with different seating sections inside and out. Our wait staff has always been prompt and friendly. I’m sure it’s less busy at lunch than in the evening, but that’s the case anywhere at City Walk. Check out the nachos/ they are huge!! Bathroom score: 5 stars. It’s always been clean and stocked anytime I was there, with roomy stalls and fun paintings on the walls. Great T-shirt designs are found in the gift shop next door, which hold up through washings. Club sandwich and a T-shirt to take home is a winning lunch combo.

Sarah (if she spells it that way) was awesome. Total pro behind the bar, was amazing to watch her pouring 3 bottles over several cups. She even double checked our song requests before personally taking them to the band. Just the right amount of sass for a server, we had big grins the whole time. Place is kitschy which we love anyway. Volcano nachos are huge but excellent and definitely a good share plate for the bar. Have visited 3 times already and will absolutely come back a 4th.

Google
This is located right on Citywalk in Universal. They were steady when we got there, but we were able to sit at the bar with no wait. Menu looked good and prices were average for that environment, but we just had a few drinks. The bartender was amazing. He was attentive, very helpful, personable, and pleasant. This place has good vibes with a Caribbean feeling/decor to it. I would definitely go back.

Google
Great place to eat. Our server was amazing. You can sit outside or inside the bar area. We had the volcano nacho between 2 of us it was massive so make sure you are hungry if you want this. We also tried there Margarita flight so we know which one we want next time we visit because we will definitely be back.

Google
AMAZING!! Fish tacos, shrimp and grits chicken quesadilla, all 3 were PREMO. SO GOOOD. The service was great, the 22oz Blackberry Margarita was on point. whoever come back to Orlando universal we'll eat here again.

Google
The food was really good as well as the beer. We were there for a business event and it was enjoyable. I have personal food restrictions I couldn't eat all the shellfish that was served. More for those that could, I bet it was delicious. The meat was amazing! We had a lot of fun and they had something for everyone to do. The waiters, chefs and everyone provided great service. I can't speak to value as this was a hosted event.

Michelle W.

Google
I ordered the Volcano Nachos, which turned out to be more “Volcano Drought” — tasty enough but definitely in need of a sour cream rescue team. My husband ordered his burger without the special sauce, so naturally it arrived looking like it just finished a sauce spa treatment. To be fair, the waiter replaced it quickly once alerted. The place was packed with about an hour wait, so our server was clearly living his best “Olympic juggling” life — unfortunately, water refills did not make the rotation, and our cups sat empty like forgotten desert cacti. The hostess, however, was a ray of sunshine and got us checked in fast. Prices were pretty much what you'd expect: not shocking, but not a bargain either. Overall: fun vibe, decent food once it’s right, and bring your own water backup just in case!

Yelp
Great service by Melissa!!! Made the night so much more enjoyable for our entire family!

Yelp
This was not my first time at Universal Orlando Citywalk, but it was my first time at Margaritaville. This location is an iconic part of the Universal Citywalk skyline along with the Hard Rock Cafe. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville was purposely built to draw attention and it does. It is one of the largest venues on Citywalk with 3 distincts sections. The outdoor section; the gift shop; and the indoor section. Not to be outdone by the other both restaurant parts have their own stages for respective entertainment. We opted to eat inside. With the live entertainment, the men walking on stilts, the crowded patrons, it was hard to hear yourself talk at times. They spared no expense or creativity when they decorated the place. Pictures can try, but being there is an experience. I tried their virgin pina colada. Yom Yom Yom. Tammy got their Perfect Margarita and she said it was pretty close to perfect! Volcano Nachos: A YUGE mountain of tortilla chips, chili, cheese, pico de gallo, fresh guacamole, sour cream and pulled pork. Wow! We couldn't finish it. Yom Yom Yom! Caribbean New York Strip: 10 oz. New York Strip Caribbean jerk seasoned, sweet plantain, chayote & yellow squash, sweet peppers, fried onions. The cook on the steak was spot on, but I didn't taste as much jerk seasoning. I would say it was a tad under-seasoned. The fried onions and the cooked plantains were perfect. Fish tacos: Large filets fried in a golden batter, avocado, cilantro lime coleslaw, key lime crema, black beans, island rice, pico de gallo. The fish was delicious. The large slice of fresh avocado with the key lime crema adds a nice flavor to the fried fish. Trip Around the Sun Burger: Two caramelized burger patties, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, jalapeño relish, habanero ranch, on a brioche bun. Presentation was delightful. The jalapeno relish wasn't overly sweet and eaten with the habanero ranch, it was a very good burger! Yom Yom Yom! Cheeseburger in Paradise: The burger named after the famous song by Jimmy Buffett! Half pound of black angus beef with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, paradise island sauce on a brioche bun. If you look up American cheeseburger in a dictionary, you'd be hard press not to see a picture of this fellow. What's not to like. As the name implies, Margaritaville is an experience as much as it a restaurant. Take in the scenery and ask the men in stilts for a balloon animal. The connect gift shop has many many souvenir items to remind yourself of the great time you had at Margaritaville.

Yelp
I'm generally not a fan of places like this, but cest la vie! We stopped in to Citywalk on a bit of a whim and Margaritaville was the only place that could get us in a reasonable wait time. Once seated our service was good. We ended up ordering the volcano nachos as our meal and at $25 I almost choked at the price, but holy cow, they aren't kidding calling this a volcano of nachos! It was huge - definitely shareable for a group. There were only 2 of us and we barely put a dent in it. I consider myself a bit of a nacho snob and these weren't too bad! I expected a big pile of naked chips but they did a pretty good job of getting cheese/chili layered through out. I found it a little odd it didn't come with salsa, but I think a side (a fairly large bowl) was about $3 extra? Doable even for this cheapskate. I wouldn't rush back, but if I found myself here again I know I'd at least be pretty pleased with a giant nacho!

Yelp
This was my first time at Margaritaville and if I had to summarize the experience in one word, it'd be "overstimulating". Though the margs and delicious, the atmosphere is overwhelming. It's a huge venue so there's people everywhere, then there's lights flashing, videos playing, live musicians, a balloon animal maker, and a volcano randomly going off. It was hard to hear one another speak and enjoy the meal with so many things vying for your attention. The food was okay, not bad but not really special.

Yelp
The french onion soup was absolutely delicious. The truffle fries were good & the portion size was pretty large. The chicken parm was very good but the pasta sauce was a bit lacking in flavor. The food came out fast & the server was attentive & pleasant. The drinks were phenomenal (not pictured) but we had the jalapeño pineapple margarita & the wild berry margarita

Yelp
My family recently visited Margaritaville during a trip to Orlando, FL to cerebrate my son's 6th birthday. The atmosphere and Caribbean vibe was the best part of our experience and night. I'm giving the restaurant 2 stars because while my son and I didn't enjoy our food, my husband did and the service from our waitress was please. She kept us laughing the entire visit. In addition, our alcoholic drinks were just subpar. We didn't order a second round of drinks. My son had chicken tenders or fried shrimp and French fries. (Not pictured) My husband ordered the Tequila Spiked Shrimp Ceviche. ( Not pictured) I was a little disappointed in the fact that we spent a nice amount of money in this establishment only for me to throw my leftovers away once we arrived back at the hotel. The restaurant could definitely improve on the quality of the food and drinks.

Yelp
Worst restaurant in city walk and definitely worst Margaritaville. Servers are horrible, they even neglected to to turn on the speakers on The patio. Super weird having a near silent margaritaville At 1:15 in the afternoon.
google avatar

Karen N.

Yelp
We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer.. We had a reservation, but still had to wait even though there were several empty tables. Service was fair. We had the tequila shrimp ceviche. The shrimp were in a creamy marinade, topped with bite size pieces of avocado and cilantro. The tortilla chips were supposedly home made, but they were dry and seemed stale. We had the margarita flight which was very good. A variety of four margaritas, the mango and perfect margarita were my favorites. The atmosphere is tropical and festive, but service and food could be improved.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere with live music and indoor/outdoor seating options. Food was good, but more so we were very pleased with the server's knowledge of gluten-free options.

Yelp
Pros: -Nachos are so big and shareable. They are super flavorful and we were allowed to substitute the beef/chili for chicken -waitress was on top of everything and super nice -bar was clean and bartender was friendly -bathrooms were clean -people on stilts were super friendly and the guy doing balloons was amazing Cons: -Mango Margarita was a bit weak for the price Overall, this is a great experience. We love the location between parks too.

Yelp
I went for nachos but stayed for shots the bartender was really nice and even carded me cause I look so young I got double shots of patron. The staff was nice and the place is cute but it gets PACKED! They have four bars but we had to walk around the whole building twice before finding seats. They're a popular spot in a busy area of city walk so I'm not surprised. Really happy with the service, maybe I'll go back for the food

Yelp
Our family of 6 dined there last night and I was blown away by our waitress' thoughtfulness. She must have overheard me telling my diabetic son his blood sugar was dropping and she quickly came over with some watermelon for him. This was such a beautiful act of kindness! Really made my day! Thank you Nathalie for your attentiveness, thoughtfulness & kindness!-- Monika

Yelp
Good spot for late night eats- we arrived pretty late and needed a place to stop for a bite. We got nachos & a few other apps and they were all really good. Typical tourist prices. Drinks were good though! Super nice waitress- but female bartender was rude and cocky. Type of person you don't want working in your establishment. The ambiance was not really what you would expect from a place called Margaritaville.... I would rate a 4.5 but I'm going to say 4 stars bc of the unnecessarily rude bartender!
google avatar

Cesca T.

Yelp
Maybe we just went at a weird time, it was like 1pm for a little lunch. We had never been there before, only walked past it at CityWalk. The ambience is frenetic, but in a kitschy, fun way I guess. It's not as dive bar-esque as the original in Key West. It's more like a Rainforest Cafe for adults. Our waitress was pretty wizened, she looked like she had seen it all, which I actually thought added to the experience. She was friendly, but sort of tough too, in a cool way. The food was better than I expected too. The sweet potato fries and the dipping sauces were maybe the best I've had. And the drinks will definitely mess you up, but I suppose that's the point at Margaritaville.

Yelp
I love their margarita flight. Here we are 10 years later and there are still people on stilts making balloon animals. This time, I had a five year old and a three year old who absolutely adored it. The balloon artist made my older son a bow and arrow, which a week later, he still has. Even though I looked earlier in the day and there were tons of reservations open, there was a line when we walked up around 7 p.m. on a Friday. We decided to just make a reservation online for 8 p.m. and walk around the city walk in the meantime. When we came back for our reservation we were seated pretty much immediately upstairs. If I didn't have kids I would want to sit downstairs where the live music was. Upstairs was fine with kids, since it was a little more removed. We got chips with queso and guacamole (the queso isn't on the menu), plus I got a margarita flight. The queso was just ok, I'd skip it next time. The guacamole was pretty good and the chips were just chips. The flight was all sweet drinks, but I love the variety. I will keep getting the flight every time. I'd come here for the atmosphere more than the food. We had a great time and will be back.

Yelp
My wife, daughter and I stayed at the Margaritaville cottages for the Valentine's Day weekend. The accommodations were great. A 2 bedroom, 3 bath cottage with a hot tub out back. No maid service at all, as we didn't feel it was necessary to pay for that upgrade. We asked for and received towels and bathroom supplies when needed. The resort is right by the restaurant strip. You can call for shuttle service up until 10:45. The restaurants over there are fair. Good enough for a couple of nights dinner. Lastly, we ate at Euphoria Fish House and had a great Valentine's Day dinner. We will be back!

Yelp
I had some friends visiting from out of town and they wanted to go to CityWalk. Walked in to check how long the wait was for dinner and they sat us right in which was great for a Saturday night. We sat upstairs and our waitress was very nice and helpful. We had a few appetizers, chips and guacamole and the conch fritters. For dinner tried the lava lava shrimp and it was delicious. Also had the landshark lager fish and chips and it was a great portion and fish was perfectly crispy. Really enjoyed the live music playing downstairs. Looking forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Blake M.

Yelp
I agree with a lot of the reviews from other people. The service is extremely slow. We showed up early for our reservation and got seated quickly. While sitting down one of the employees yelled to move out of the way while they got someone in a wheelchair to the table behind ours. Then they decided not to seat them there. It could have been handled better. We ordered mostly waters and some chips with guacamole. That took about 20 minutes to get to our table. The food was good but the entire process took almost 2 hours. They need to improve their service because other restaurants at Citywalk are busy and don't take as long.
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
I've had better Nachos at my kids football games. Not sure how they messed that up. But 25$ for nachos and I expect them to be the best ever.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
After walking around CityWalk for a while we were looking for a place to grab a cocktail and this place grabbed our attention since the bar was outside by itself and not inside the restaurant. Upon sitting down the bartender was attentive and we asked for a couple waters while we decided what we would like to order. I opted for the 5 O'Clock Somewhere and she got the Watermelon Agave Fresca. Both were good, but short on the alcohol. The price was okay at $14.75 a piece but I would have expected a little more alcohol in them, but that's a resort for you. It's a chill little cabana style bar and it was convenient so I don't really have any complaints because we got what we were looking for. Are there better places at CityWalk to grab a drink, absolutely! Would I stop by again, probably! Because it's fast and convenient. Enjoy!
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
I put that I would recommend this place because it tries. The food is decent. The atmosphere is dated but cute. The service was just okay. Seemed like we got forgotten a couple times. Food portions are large. We got the nachos and they were piled high.
google avatar

Laurie V.

Yelp
It was good. We had the ginormous portion of nachos, which we couldn't even come close to finishing between the two of us. Margaritas were good, and I am not typically a margarita drinker. There was only outside seating available and although it was hot, the industrial fans quelled that. I am not sure this would be my top pick if I come back here again, but it was not a bad lunch by any stretch.
google avatar

Yelp
My family and I were spending the day at Universal and decided to make a reservation at Margaritaville at the CityWalk. Our reservation was for 7:45 (about when the park closed). We checked in at about 7:20. They told us they were running just a little behind and we would be seated at about 7:45 which is fine since that was our reservation time anyways. However, they had us waiting until 8:25 which was ridiculous. My father is handicapped and has trouble standing and walking so waiting for this extended period of time was difficult for him since there was no seating available. We asked the hostess multiple times if we were almost ready to be seated and she kept saying "soon." Why did we even bother to make a reservation? The food was mild. Not great. The entertainment was not great and the sound quality of the singers was terrible. We had a great waitress who did her best to expedite our food. If it weren't for her I'd probably have given one star.
google avatar

Mitchel R.

Yelp
It's fine. It's a themed restaurant at a tourist attraction. Food is fine, service is slightly sub par. There are other options, but not much which are significantly better. ‍
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Honestly, it was super loud in here and our food took quite a long time. The food was decent, but nothing special. It's also extremely overpriced, but that is to be expected from a restaurant at Universal. It wasn't bad at all, just not great.
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
Of all the food choices available in CityWalk... this should be your absolute last resort. I've eaten twice at the SC location and once in Orlando one and the problems have been encountered at all visits. 1. The food is expensive and the quality is terrible. Chicken to rubbery to chew, everything fried, and zero flavor are just a few issues. The crab dip was the only thing worth eating among 3 appetizers we sampled. 2. Dismal service with excessive wait times. We waited 25 minutes to get our tea and soda and food took 3 minutes less than an hour to come out. Two of the meals were cold and had been sitting a while. Our waiter spent the night fawning over a single table and essentially ignored his other four. It literally took getting a manager to get the check after we asked for it 3 times. 3. Clealiness is HIGHLY questionable. There was 1/2" inch of water, soda, possibly blood of their enemies under our table. Our feet literally sloshed and we reported it but they ignored it. The bathroom was out of handsoap and there was the smell of sewage in the ladies bathroom. Just gross. If your dining goals are to be herded like cattle, packed into a venue, wait a long time for service and/or food, fed slop, then pay for the privilege, then this is the place for you. The only positive was the live entertainment was good... still not worth it!!
google avatar

Yelp
We recently visited Margaritaville on a Florida trip. I had never been before but I was extremely pleasantly surprised it is such a fun place. Stilt walkers making balloon creations, the volanco erupting, and fantastic live music. My husband and I shared the nachos and a Southern stack burger. The service was lacking slightly our server seemed fairly disinterested in us but otherwise we were very happy. The food was really good (I'm so glad we shared!) my husband loved the margaritas and general vibe. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Francisco R.

Yelp
Nothing fancy but a great time here! You'll find the basic food items you can find just about anywhere but the theming is nice and the live music is a good touch. The staff are all very friendly and the food (though we only got nachos) was yummy! Did not wait to be sat and did not wait long for the food either. Would recommend at least once if visiting Universal.
google avatar

Juan S.

Yelp
Second time I've been here and haven't been disappointed yet. The food here is very good and the drinks are too. There's. Lot of places at city walk to eat but this one is a must! Had the fish and chips and the fish were big and delicious.
google avatar

Yiwen S.

Yelp
UPDATE: My father-in-law, who also ordered the burger, became violently ill with stomach pains and vomiting as of yesterday, February 20th. My husband has now been sick for 72 hours. We contacted both Universal Studios Guest Services and the restaurant directly, and were either told there was nothing they could do for us or got shuffled around. This has absolutely ruined our trip to Orlando and I strongly caution anyone from visiting this establishment.
google avatar

Jami U.

Yelp
Service here was great Joanne was helpful and kind. Then we had a flight of margaritas all were delicious! Hubs had the shrimp & grits he couldn't even finish it since it was so big. But yummy for sure. I had a burger when in Jimmys house you have the cheeseburger! I give it 2 thumbs up!
google avatar

Al P.

Yelp
We had dinner here tonight, our service was awful, we never even got utensils for our meals. Our waitress was nice but she kept disappearing for inordinate amounts of time. The place is not cheap and the food was average at best. We sat upstairs and the table next to us waited forever to order as well.
google avatar

Caroline N.

Yelp
Visited for a late afternoon lunch. Seating for a party of 5 was very quick. We had an excellent waiter who was very attentive to our needs. The restaurant had great live music to keep guests entertained. Ordered a housemade strawberry lemonade (good but I wouldn't order again--set my expectations too high for something that tastes similar to Minute Maid ) and a cheeseburger beyond paradise which was the only vegan option for dinner (no complaints just glad one exists) and sweet potato fries. The beyond burger and the special sauce (also vegan) was excellent! The sweet potato fries were bland. Should've ordered regular fries. The rest in my party, however, didn't like the pineapple chicken (chicken was dry, but rice and chimichurri sauce was good), crab cake sandwich and onion rings (good but came out cold, onion rings were hard), and the margarita flight was okay but it too watered down. However one person in my party loved the fish and chips. Overall, we would all go back but the others in my party would order something else. So for me and my overall experience I give it a 4/5.
google avatar

Margherita G.

Yelp
Spent all day at Universal and went here to eat. The meal was ok, the coconut shrimp were good, could have used a different dipping sauce. The chicken quesadillas were not to my liking and the club sandwich was ok.
google avatar

Nova Y.

Yelp
The atmosphere is top notch but the food was lackluster The Shrimp ceviche was almost there but milky The club was okay but the onion rings made the meal and the shrimp and grits were dry as all get out.
google avatar

Gustavo A. L.

Yelp
This is certainly a unique place. The portions are quite generous, the service is decent, the volcano is quite an attraction and its eruption is certainly an experience. We always go for the Nachos as an app because they are a crowd pleaser, plus they pack great value for your buck. From that point on, your choice of entree will be satisfying, as long as you are not expecting gourmet food. Overall, dinner at Margaritaville with friends will most likely be a loud, interesting night out, so... why not ?
google avatar

Jackie L.

Yelp
This is a standard American institution for our family. When we come to Universal, we usually make a pit stop on our way out of downtown. You check in with the server and make your way up a few steps. You can sit on the inside or outside. Everything is painted in green or blue here. It's a very casual and tropical vibe with some of Jimmy Buffet music playing in the background. Food and drinks are more on the expensive side for what you get. I got the shrimp mac and cheese, which clocked in about $25. It didn't have much shrimp and was a little under seasoned. The Boursin cream sauce was very good though, nicely coated and rich. Definitely felt really heavy and one dimensional by the time I got to the end of my meal. Staff was decent. Did check in on us occasionally. Seemed like she was a little overwhelmed. One of her colleagues was on stilts and making complimentary animal balloons for the kids, which we really enjoyed. Although I would rate this restaurant as just ok, our family has always considered this restaurant a beloved tradition so we will be repeat customers for sure!

Yelp
Food was really good . The environment was cool like other jimmy buffet locations, music, and decorations. Our service was on top of everything.

Yelp
Good food great entertainment and fun environment . Ordered beer face temperature and also good margarita of course. Prices did go up but nachos were super good. Other food looked good too. Always good music and fun.

Yelp
We randomly ended up here while walking around citywalk and I have to say, the fish tacos I had were top notch! I would come back here based on that plate alone. The drinks were also solid and our waiter was very nice so I recommend coming here for some good food.
google avatar

Yelp
Per my 15 year old gluten free daughter..."Can we go back and eat here? They had the best GF bun I have ever had on a burger!" You bet we will! See you next trip!
google avatar

Shoshana F.

Yelp
My five-year-old has food allergies. Margaritaville claims on both their website and menu they can accommodate for them. We notified the server immediately. They said they would handle it. In a party of 10, her food came in last, about 30 minutes after the first meals came out. There were bits of avocado on the bun, which we didn't order. Thankfully she isn't allergic to avocado. However, if they didn't notice bits of (not her) food touching her order, what else got in there? My kid is old enough to know to make sure her food is safe before she eats. She got scared and refused to eat a new one, which took an additional 15-20 minutes to come out. When a restaurant can't accommodate, we bring food for her to eat so she eats with everyone. We research safe places to go and communicate with everyone so we know what is safe for her. If Margaritaville claims to accommodate with timely notice, this shouldn't have happened. It wasn't the server's fault. We were told a manager would bring out the initial order.

Yelp
Good food, a great server, and an amazing atmosphere. This restaurant made us feel like we were in the Bahamas on the beach. The Margaritas are Perfect, not just in the name. If you are going to pick one, do what they suggest and pick the Perfect Margarita. Our server also let us know the flight would not be up par with what we just had. I definitely appreciated the honesty. My burger was cooked perfectly. The Pretzel sticks passed the test of the pickiest child I know. The rice in multiple dishes was not fully cooked - so that was the only downside of the meal. Definitely have the chefs look into the cook time of the rice. Crunchy rice is the reason I have to take star away, or else I would have given 5 stars for the experience. Overall, we will be back.

Yelp
Outstanding place to go!! Kelley B was our server, she provided us the best service we could have asked for. The food was delicious fish and chips, taco salad, and jambalaya. She never left us thirsty, our drinks were always filled. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a very fun restaurant on Universal Citywalk and fits right in with the tropical atmosphere. The inside decor is amazing, super tropical and decorated very well. The servers were friendly and the food was good. We tried the onion ring appetizer which was massive, and for dinner we had the salmon salad and blackened salmon dinner which both were very good - very fresh meals. We also tried a watermelon margarita which was delicious. I'd definitely recommend a visit to Margaritaville during your Universal Citywalk visit.

Yelp
I came here two years ago and it was phenomenal; however now not so much. The only good thing today was the attentive and kind server. The vibe of the restaurant is the iconic jimmy buffet- We were seated in about five minutes from checking in. I ordered the Cuban with no cheese and not pressed- the chef told me they could maybe work something out- so I got the sandwich. It came within 45 minutes of us bieng seated. My sandwich had the wrong sides- because I got the side salad. The Cuban sandwich was lackluster in taste not warm and my pork on the sandwich lacked flavor and was dry. I do not think my partner and I will be returning. 3/10

Yelp
Food is very meh. I got the crabcake sandwich. Mushy and not much crab. Other party members got burgers and shrimp and grits. Also was very shocked that they charged $1 for one of my party to add some onions to their burger. It was a few slices of onion. I can understand cheese or bacon but just some onions? I asked for some more for my sandwich and the waiter warned me, so thankfully I skipped it.Very underwhelming food. Also 21% gratuity is automatically added so be careful not to double tip unless you had that great of a time. . If you can leave the area there a ton of better restaurants for the amount you would spend there.

Yelp
I usually stay close to universal city walk every month for work and love walking over to grab a drink and a bite. This time I came to JB's again. The service and food is always great and today was one of the best days. They weren't too busy so I grabbed a seat at the bar quickly. They're usually slammed! The bartender Manny greeted me right away and took amazing care of me! Got me a drink right away, (and btw he was as attentive to ever guest at the bar all while working the service well AND the to go drink window!) I asked about a couple menu options and what to choose which out of them he sold me on the fish tacos fried (you can get them blacked or grilled too btw) and he was NOT wrong. The fish was fluffy, the breading was flavorful and crispy, the tortillas were homemade and the salsa and avocado were FRESH as a daisy !!! I will be back for the food as always but will definitely be back and choose jimmy's every month over all the other universal CityWalk options because of the service! Thank you Manny!

Yelp
We walked into this restaurant after a couple hours at the parks and enjoyed our meal. The outside area is nice and airy. Service was pretty good! Would maybe come back for a walk in!
