We’ve been wanting to try Margot but tonight was a perfect surprise - couldn’t get into a restaurant nearby, got lucky with Margot. Food was delicious and the wine was so refreshing and lovely. Service was great, too. The focaccia was amazing and the spring vegetables were over the top. Must try. Glad that our neighborhood has one more lovely new spot. Can’t wait to come back again.

Unfortunately this was a miss for us (2.75/5 stars). Each of the dishes we got were mediocre at best and none of it made a lasting impression on us, which was such a bummer. The steak tartar was decent but didn't come with enough sauce and wasn't served with any bread or cracker to provide a nice texture contrast, so it's like eating a spoonful of flavorless raw beef without the sauce, so if you don't mind it then you'll probably enjoy the dish more. The smoked speck was also decent and quite flavorful, but would prefer the presentation to make it easier to grab each piece, for since it's on top of one another, each time we grabbed a piece, all the toppings would fall off. The radish and butter was very plain and didn't hit the spot for me, for the butter was too light in flavor to make a dent onto the rawness of the radish. The focaccia ricotta with hot honey was also quite bland in regard to the honey, and you would need to dunk it in a lot of ricotta to bring out its flavors. The Rigatoni alla Gricia was also light in flavor and without eating it with the accompanying meat resulted in no flavor at all unfortunately. Koji brined half chicken was overpriced for what it was worth, and didn't have much flavor as well, so it felt like eating a simple roasted chicken dish. The roast duck was a bit gamey but had a nice proportion of fat to balance it out. The red cabbage that accompanied it didn't enhance the dish much so you really just focus on the duck by itself. Overall, the price is quite high and the quality just wasn't on par with its price point. The area we sat at was close to the kitchen and since so many staff goes in and out, sometimes staff flings their hand and water would get on us. They didn't seem aware of it but the staff were all very friendly, so we didn't wanna make a big deal out of it, but just fyi to those who may be sitting near the kitchen area! One other downside is they forgot our drink near the end of our meal perhaps because they were busy and overworked. I think Margot has good potential, for I know their menu changes regularly, so I hope this review can help guide them to change and grow into something even more amazing. Unfortunately this time it was a miss for us, but I do hope to see them continue to grow and improve, by adjusting the flavor profile of their dishes and attributing a more congruent price to its quality, especially for their entrees! The little gem lettuce was my favorite of the meal, sweet and salty. The candied macadamia nuts added some crunchy to the crisp lettuce, very well delivered. We also ordered prosciutto gouda melt sandwich. The drizzled hot honey gave a nice kick to the pallet, but the gouda wasn’t completely melted. The focaccia was absolutely phenomenal, crispy outside and super moisture and spongy inside! The espresso martini was too sweet for me and I might also pass the banana olive oil pound cake.

We were here for the opening week in 2023 and it was just perfect ! The food was so good and fresh ! Shout-out to the bread that was as good as what we are used to in France 🇫🇷🥖 We also loved the open kitchen and the fact that it's not an entry/main/dessert kind of meal, but more of a tapas experience where you pick multiple small dishes that you can share

Had a wonderful late Dinner at Margot last night! Had a 8:45pm reservation, and why the time we arrived, about 3 dishes were sold out so, keep at In Mind, however there were plenty of other things we tried! Overall service was very friendly, and enthusiastic. They kept our bottle of chilled wine in the back, so it took a bit between pourings. However not a big deal, maybe we drink too fast lol. Below is what we ordered with thoughts, what I will say overall, the ingredients are fresh and you can taste it! Focaccia, ricotta, urfa crunch: Bread was delicious, very crispy on the outside, bust still soft inside. Airy Ricotta, maybe could have just had a little tiny of sprinkle of salt but totally my preference. Spring vegetables, fromage forte, pistachio aioli: this right here was probably one of my FAVORITE, dishes of the night. I know it's just Veggies and Puree. but trust me! that Fromage Puree was chefs kiss. Little gem lettuce, crispy shallots, candied macadamia nuts: I'm a sucker for little gem salads, I'll always over it. I was concerned it was overdressed when we received it, but again, the flavor was spot on. Absolutely a delight. Black pearl oyster mushrooms, orange glaze: Mushrooms were lovely, meaty and hearty side, and it felt like you were indulging in a Chinese orange chicken dish but with Mushrooms. A bit of a guilty pleasure :) Cavatelli, nettle green garlic pesto: Very fresh Pasta option, the nettle green pesto flavor was a delightful alternative to regular pesto. Very unique and refreshing to go with the heavier items. Steelhead trout, celery root, mustard greens: Honestly i was STUFFED by the time i got here, but pretty simple, really well cooked fish, and that Celery Root puree was lovely with the fish. Vanilla bean ice cream sundae, candies nuts, caramel: Literally amazing, you can't go wrong with a rich delicious vanilla ice cream. perfect simple dessert Banana olive oil pound cake, toffee rum sauce: I don't even like bananas and couldn't taste it. this was a lovely dessert, and that toffee rum sauce was light and paired so well! Overall a very memorable dinner and would love to come back for more seasonal dishes! Cheers!

Delightful celebratory dinner at Margot. Staff device was seamless & friendly. Small plates is their thing - 4 of us shared 8 items & 3 desserts. Noise level was quite acceptable (& on a Saturday night). Would highly recommend.

Absolutely love this place. The food is delicious, everything is an imaginative combination of ingredients and flavors beautifully prepared. But not clever or pretentious like so many fine dining places. Which is also reflected in the decor and ambience of this place. It’s welcoming, relaxed and just a delight all around! The only slight nit I have is the chicken wasn’t special for all it’s description. Will focus on smaller plates next time and skip the entrees

3 at best, the bathrooms themselves are 1/5. Service was nice and everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Would return again just because of that. The food fell short of our expectations, was under the impression from the pricing that they would deliver. The skirt steak (w/ herbs and roasted garlic) was served almost cold, lacked flavor, and for $38 was just disappointing. I am not a joyless whiny baby I promise, it was just bad. The Brussels Sprouts and scallops were probably the most satisfying items we consumed. The spaghetti with clams was forgettable. Drinks - 5/5. Knowing what I know now I will wait until they fix the death trap bathrooms and come back for drinks.

this place is FINE - which is so unfortunate bc the location is lovely and the interior is super cute! the food was again FINE but grossly overpriced. almost $50 for a small plate of pork chops is insane. the tokyo radish was good and so were the figs & prosciutto but nothing was special and even though we ate here last week, i haven't thought about the food once since. as someone else noted on their review, they do add a small kitchen fee to your receipt which is so sneaky? just add it to your overpriced menu items! def wouldn't ever recommend this place to someone but if someone was desperately wanting to go, i wouldn't say no.

The food at Margot isn't bad, it's fine. Unexpected fees in our receipt were not great, though. We had the baby gem salad which was tasty but a bit overly drenched in dressing, the mushroom plate was also flavorful but a bit too sweet, and the rigatoni with braised Italian sausage was probably the standout dish. We each had a glass of wine which were both just ok. When our bill came, we noticed an unexpected "kitchen fee"--my husband and I had never seen something like that in a restaurant bill before, so we asked about it. Our server, who was very friendly, explained that this is something they include due to the fact that they have an "open kitchen"--very odd. Tacking a fee on like this is something that makes your customers leave with a bad taste in their mouths...feels yucky. While our server offered removing it from our bill, it felt like a bit of a guilt trip to be honest, so we just paid for it and left. Customers should at the very least be forewarned about a random addition to their bill, especially when the food itself is already quite overpriced as it is ($12 for sourdough bread...really?!). Why doesn't the overpriced food cover the "kitchen fee"??

I was hesitant to visit this local spot, but I had probably the best meal I've had all year, and as I left, I felt massive regret that I hadn't come earlier and often. The standout dishes were... Everything? The bread & butter, salad, beans, and pasta al limone were incredible. It was my friend's birthday, and they were accommodating and kind when I brought in a little cake before our reservation. Excited to come back!

Great spot if you're going to B.A.M or really just for a good dinner. Service was friendly informative and not intrusive. We had a ton of food 1/2 chicken with polenta delicious as was everyone's pastas and the pork chop. We had a few apps that were good radicchio salad was phenomenal. Don't order the olives ( just not worth it). Great open kitchen right in front of you feeds the atmosphere of the space which I liked. I'll be back when I hit B.A.M. Or Barclays.

Not sure if this is indeed a restaurant but when I was at this location in the summer it was Snipes teaming up with 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks alongside Jordan Brand to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Spike Lee's iconic film, Do the Right Thing. So enjoy these photos from outside the event. I'm sure they rented this space out or something as the bar is still visible but it seems like a nice establishment nonetheless.

This cute and cozy Brooklyn cafe / Bistro is making some excellent food. It was Halloween night and everyone was dressed up in a variety of outlandish costumes you would only see if you were in Brooklyn! All of the food coming out of the kitchen was very good. Us four started ff with: * Sourdough with cultured butter that was so good, I could have stopped here * Leafy greens with lemon and tarragon that had just the right amount of dressing * Rigatoni with tomato sausage ragu that we all devoured * Grilled pork with anchovies and potato was excellent * Bay leaf panna cotta was great The bar had great offerings and Brooklyn on Halloween - what can I sat except ENTERTAINING!

We had an interesting, fairly light late dinner here. Menu seems designed for sharing, and so we did. The starters were a bit odd, and not a wonderful start--an Heirloom tomato salad with a tomato caramel that was a little one-note and too sweet, and an Eggplant escabeche with saba and a whipped cheese that was interesting but an odd texture (and we are typically eggplant fans). Entree was excellent though--a Cavatelli with mushrooms that was wonderfully savory--fairly small though, left us wanting more. Also had a very nice dessert a Coconut sorbet with succulent grilled peaches topped with a pinch of sea salt--lovely meal closer. The portions run quite small--we had eaten a late lunch and weren't starving, but you'll probably have to order heavy and run up the bill for a full, satiating dinner The cocktails were mixed--My girlfriend had something called Violet Beauregard Could Never (whiskey, amaro, blueberry, lavender, urfa biber) and I had a gin cocktail (Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon) with sherry and cherry blossom both were good but also maybe a tad over-ambitious/perhaps one thing too many going on in there--particularly the whiskey cocktail. Our server, Nick, was great, fun, attentive and engaging. The food prep folks working at the bar less so--we sat at the bar--I suppose they were busy, but had that intense "important restaurant" vibe when we were asking about the dessert they prepared and served us. Overall, though, the space is excellent (former old diner) and the vibe is nice. The food was interesting--often good--but rarely overwhelming. Perhaps I heard a bit too much in the way of raves and was a tiny bit underwhelmed. I'd definitely come back but not rushing back.

Delicious rotating seasonal menu. Wonderful staff (super friendly and welcoming) and a cute as hell ambience. A perfect neighborhood restaurant.

Great happy hour they call it "Apero Hour" with quality drinks (hard to come by in the area on a Friday night). I got the dry vermouth with soda and was super-pleased it came with a steel straw (which BTW helps keep the drink cold). I paid cash, and they had change, unlike at high volume bars in the city. The woman seated across from me at the bar got a macadamia nut snack, which she said were salted and with curry which sounds delish. The space has a nice airy feel to it, the books decorating the bookshelf not trying too hard (astrology)

They always have a fun wine list and staff to help guide you to something that fits your needs. The food menu is always changing with new treats for what's in season. It's the perfect wine bar for a drink before dinner or to stay and have a full meal. Have gone quite a few times and have always left happy.

Superb across the board: the rave reviews are well deserved. A sea bass crudo, house made focaccia with ricotta and kumquat preserves, wild boar ragú and banana olive oil cake. A terrific list of wines by the glass. This will be my go to for events in Clinton Hill.

Came as a party of 3. The place looks cute, leaning hard on trendy new American type vibes. Every drink has at least one too many obscure ingredients. The best dish was the bread and butter. Spaghetti was overly lemony, needed salt or something, to contrast. The Rigatoni with sausage ragu was watery and the nuts added a strange crunch that you don't really want in a ragu. The chicken was super sweet, and every element of the dish tasted exactly the same. The pacing was weird, empty plates would sit there for a long time, but everyone was very friendly. Overall it's a solid three, no reason to go back.

GO! We tried almost every small plate on the menu & I had the cavatelli as an entre (which was my dream scenario). Loved the beans, salad was truly a little gem, adored the ambiance, and stayed for the best ceramics. Only note, Margot, please share your mix with us, a spotify link, a playlist even?

this is a cute little restaurant in fort greene - it's upscale which is a bit of a different vibe from the neighborhood spots. i was surprisingly able to sit at the bar no reservation for 1 on a friday. the reds by the glass were excellent. the wine list is primarily low intervention. the bartender was a great guide through the menu. i started with the california red and then had the pinot noir with the cavatelli and maitake. the dish and the wine pairings were phenomenal! the servings are small and a pricey.

Nice new neighborhood restaurant with a concise menu. Skip the bread but definitely get the Sweet Potato. The dessert is definitely the strong suit, so get em all like we did (except the cheese plate). The sundae is amazing, as is the chocolate tart with maitake mushroom ice cream.

I'd heard and read so much about this restaurant, so I was really excited to get a 5pm Resy on a Friday night. The ambiance is great -- I loved the decor and the overall vibes. And our waiter was incredibly sweet and down to earth. They recommended five plates for two people so we got the oysters, blue cheese Waldorf, Hiramasa, the halibut and the wagyu. The last two dishes also came with milk bread that they were trying out which was really tasty dipped into the leftover sauce from the halibut. My favorites were the halibut, the hiramasa, and the oysters (make sure you slurp ALL the juice to get that spicy/sweet taste from the sauce.) I'd probably skip the Wagyu next time. Because of the price point it's probably not a place I'd come back to quite often, but I might stop in for a drink at their sidewalk bar service.

Margot is a delightful addition to this corner of Fort Greene. It's a warm and inviting place for a glass of wine at the beautiful bar, or a creative and memorable meal. I've dined here twice, first shortly after they opened, and then again during the summer months. The menu changed between my visits--it became more paired down and focused, which I appreciated. Service both times was friendly, accommodating, and insightful. You can really tell that everyone working here loves what they do and loves being a part of the space! Since the menu is slightly seasonal and changes, before sure you ask your server about their offerings. I would highly recommend getting whatever pasta dishes they are offering, as well as a fun, veggie forward starter. I think the spaghetti with clams is a favorite, and pairs very well with many of their wine offerings. And save room for dessert!

Margot is the platonic ideal of a neighborhood restaurant. I know the owners use that phrase and they fully hit the mark. Let me tell you all of the reasons why: This place is chill and the food is creative, flavorful, and constantly updated. Drinks - alcoholic and non - are delicious. The menu is often changing, but whatever version of the veggie-infused pasta they have when you go is a must order. The first time my wife and I had it we literally ordered seconds. I have never done that before. Portions are not huge, which might not be everyone's bag, but I have found it leaves me exactly and perfectly full. Margot has become my go to for meals with friends who like good food. This place just feels like my kitchen away from home and I love it very much.

Eh. I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. A freezing cold night and its proximity to the Apple Store gave us our first opportunity. I'm giving the interior a 2. As a designer and closet minimalist, I appreciate simplicity; however, this felt more like a DIY project. Their investments in sandstone tiles along the bar/kitchen and bottom walls said Courtyard Marriott, they lost credit for a nice material. The wall sconces were wonky and soulless and the one I could see behind was dusty. The bar area could have used a lot more candlelight. It looked like a forgotten basement pantry. The open kitchen added an additional light source which was an unpleasant blue white light. The kitchen itself, an extension of the bar, looked like a kitchen that should have been concealed, basic white tiles were dirty and stainless appliances looked repurposed. That all sounds mean, I know, but they could use some warmth and thoughtful touches. It seemed careless. The service was warm, delightful and knowledgeable, the prices for what you received were absolutely silly. There were very few wines under $100 And that is what we requested. The menu itself was limited - it was actually bigger than what I viewed online, though. We spent $8 on bread, and for what I can see in the other reviews, that was the bargain rate having been $12 and then $10. It's ok, I can eat bread and butter for dinner, and I basically did. We also ordered a pickled veg plate- and that was nice. We ordered a cheese plate that never showed up and simply dressed chicories that tasted like a simply dressed salad. It. it needed acid. I had the bean and herb pistou which was delicious but for $24 was a single layer of beans in a 7" shallow bowl maybe a third of a can, no bread or crostini. My husband had the pork and potato salad and really enjoyed it. The bone was cut off and used as a garnish so it looked like it was more than it was. It was $43. We shared a small desert and asked for 2 glasses of a similar red only to find out each glass was $23 ($46). This, when we asked our server for a bottle recommendation under $100. Absurd. I understand that running a restaurant is hard and food prices are high and it's just as challenging to make your margins, but dude, there is no concept here, no vibe and barely any (memorable) food. With the prices, there is absolutely no reason to return. I live near Rucola, and while I'm not advocating for it, it is always sick with people. They too have a limited menu but they have variety and their prices are reasonable. And while their vibe is tiresome and could use a refresh, it's at least cozy. Lose the preciousness because no one in the neighborhood gets it. We will spend bank on a good experience. Y'all have work to do.

Margot is a new French-inspired restaurant in Fort Greene with a menu that changes weekly. We had sourdough bread, egg yolk raviolo, and sweet potato. The raviolo was cooked to perfection with an amazing texture with every bite. I loved the sweet potato enhanced by the complex interplay of flavors from the trout roe and xo sauce. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and polite. The ambiance was upscale yet unpretentious, befitting the vibrant Fort Greene locale. As we were departing, we glimpsed the chef meticulously preparing the lamb seekers - it looked amazing. I am eagerly anticipating my next visit with friends and family, and I simply must try that lamb dish.

I was so excited to try this new restaurant, and it doesn't thrill me to say this - this place is out of touch with the neighborhood. While new money have come into Fort Greene, we are diverse, have a distinct sense of community and of history that's a crucial aspect of the neighborhood's identity. I'll tell you what's out of touch with reality and down right snobby: - Charging $12 for two small pieces of bread and butter: after the bread was gone, I felt sorry for the expensive butter, I ate it by itself - Bean salad with grilled smoked eel for $24 served in a tiny soup bowl: the smoked eel was very strong flavored and clashed with the beans - Egg yolk raviolo - one piece of raviolo, yes you read it right, one single piece raviolo for $24 - Pork neck and crab for $34: probably the most decent thing we ate, but there was only a single piece of crab meat wrapped in some veggie. We were so hungry after dinner, we literally went across the street to gorge ourselves with burgers and fries. Get a clue people. Read these reviews, they are all saying the same thing - Jean Georges prices with half the portion. Have something that's comforting, approachable, and filling! Do the right thing.

Margot is delicious and impressive! Had the best beet salad of my life here, and I love how innovative they are with veggies. 10/10 would recommend.

As many have said: Incredibly small portions at a price point well above average in the neighborhood (or entire borough). On top of that, the food was tasty, but nothing that blew me away or seemed particularly "inventive." While they've been open for more than a month, I've yet to see significant adjustments to portion size or price based on feedback from customers. I'm afraid that without these, their days are numbered in Fort Greene. To put it in perspective, one of the top established french restaurants in all of NYC is cheaper than Margot as are many Michelin star restaurants (and you'll leave those places feeling satisfied and not hungry).

Let's start with the pros, the food is tasty, the service is great, and the ambiance is nice. However, they need a restaurant pricing consultant. I like expensive restaurants, but they're just doing things wrong, which I hate because I like nice restaurants in the neighborhood. Our group of 4 ordered everything on the menu and left still hungry. And none of us are even slightly overweight. I have a notoriously small appetite and I ate a pizza slice on the way home. They either need to increase portion sizes, reduce prices, or have a tasting menu where you know you're gonna pay $80 and the dishes work together. I hope they figure it out soon.

Amazing new French-inspired restaurant. Lamb special was incredible, as was the sweet potato and white asparagus dish. The oysters had an amazing chili oil sauce that I've never experienced on an oyster before. Rhubarb and pistachio tart was a nice light and tangy way to finish the meal. Vibe is somehow both upscale and casual at the same time. Will be back frequently.

Attended a private dinner at Margot. So many mixed reviews...wasn't sure what to expect. The entire dinner and experience was fantastic. The beets were so flavorful, the potato pave was nicely seasoned. The steak was delicious and the sauce was yummy. The branzino was fresh and also delicious. The cavatelli pasta was also a nice bite! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant!

We had an amazing dinner at Margot!! We had a big group, and literally ordered everything on the menu. Everything was great! Favorites included the salad with blue cheese, the beans with pesto, and the pound cake with strawberries. A few of the sauces were so good we kept our almost-empty plates to enjoy the last drops of sauce on bread. My drinks were also delightful, and there was a great, fun atmosphere. Servers were friendly and attentive. This was my first time at Margot, but the friends we were with who had been before said the menu has gotten a bit more accessible and the portions have gotten bigger from when it first opened. It seems like they've done a great job of responding to early feedback!

I had been wanting to try margot since I read about it in the NYTimes a couple months back. Reservations were hard to come by but I managed to snag one for myself and a few friends! It was 5 of us and we couldn't decide what to get, so we ended up ordering everything on the menu! The food was incredible. Some prior reviews mentioned smaller portions, but we found the price and portions to be totally reasonable (i think they had recently made some changes to the menu). Highlights included the bean salad with pesto, the grilled shrimp, the pork, and oh man, the branzino! Perfectly crispy and tender. My favorite moment of the night was when the entire restaurant broke into spontaneous applause. Overall one of my fave new restaurants in Brooklyn and one I will be back to regularly.

The food here was great - it's a fun and interesting menu that evolves just the right amount over time. Particularly appreciated the host for making space for us, and our wonderful server Lindsey for her warmth and great wine recommendations - thanks for being so lovely!

Shouting "neighborhood restaurant" a thousand times doesn't make it one. A soulless adventure from those who can afford to fail as restaurateurs, for whom the culinary world is yet another bougie hobby. Average food, small portions, big prices, even bigger egos. Not a neighborhood restaurant. Margot is a no-go.

From the exterior alone, Margot draws you in, and it's very pleasant inside as well. We sat at the counter and enjoyed the oysters, the bean salad, the fennel salad, the tartare and the ravioli. Almost everything was very flavorful and unique. Only the fennel and greens salad was a little lacking but perhaps only because it was served after some of the other more strongly flavored dishes. In general, though, a truly delicious, if a bit pricey, meal. Worth a treat yourself meal for sure.

Feel compelled to leave a review after a most disappointing valentines evening at Margot. $150...dinner was pasta and cheeseburger sliders???? There was some shrimp that were good but service felt like we were doing them some sort of favor for being there...passive aggressive...mostly unhappy staff. Anyway no need to waste more time on this spot. One and done.

Beautiful restaurant but everything is very slow from food and service. Was really hoping for more.

Expensive and over-styled. The service is very good, and the staff quite pleasant; the food decent, but overpriced for what it is. If I pay $24 for a single scallop, it I would expect it to be spectacular--or even perhaps more than one. To be fair, it was a Maine scallop, cooked perfectly, but the broth it sat in was pedestrian. And...a single scallop for $24? The ($17) salad was nicely dressed, but it, too, was plain--pale romaine-type greens, crisp and fresh, but not up to the price tag. My husband had spaghetti with bits of clam, and enjoyed it. But to echo what others here have said, when a meal in Fort Greene costs more than $115 for two, you wouldn't expect to leave hungry, which we did. Probably because said meal comprised two glasses of wine, an appetizer, a salad, and a moderately-sized bowl of spaghetti. So...the cost-to-reward ratio definitely could use a tweak or two.

Not super impressed with the food for the price. I wanted to like it, but the portions were so small. I felt underwhelmed and underfed. The service was fine and they were relatively attentive. Might be a nice place for a snack or a cute place for a drink on a first date, but not for a meal. Especially not if you are even a little hungry.

I feel compelled to leave a good review after reading the negative ones out there - this was a delightful experience: quiet, excellent (and kind) service, delicious wine and food. The portions are on the smaller side, but if you speak with the servers, they will guide you on how to order. The pasta is homemade and delicate, the sauces don't overwhelm on any of the dishes and, if you're sharing, there is more than enough to go around. My friend and I were able to sit well after we had finished our meal with a friendly check-in by the staff to make sure we had everything. Its worth a return visit!

I was pretty excited to have a fine dining restaurant so close to my home. Sometimes I think that Fort Greene gets overlooked. My husband and I had dinner on Sunday night. The service was incredibly kind and attentive. And the food was also excellent; albeit, expensive for the portion sizes. We ordered the oysters, celery & fennel salad, beef tartare, egg yolk raviolo and the pork & crab. I have no complaints about any of the food because it was all excellent. I only wish I had also gotten the bread so I could have stopped up some of the left over sauces! I love a good open kitchen restaurant. I think it makes the restaurant experience more intimate and interesting! The only complaint is that it was very cold in the restaurant. So, make sure you bring a jacket with you!

Bad passive-aggressive vibes and really terrible food - no getting away from cheese across the entire menu and impossible to taste anything because of the insane levels of pepper and spice. Menu is limited and portions are small whilst prices are very high. Owners clearly have no experience of what running a successful neighborhood restaurant requires. Amateur outfit for sure and unlikely to be around long. Do yourself a favor and avoid.

A group of friends and I had the most memorable dinner at Margot the other night! I had been to Margot before, just after they opened, and while the food was really tasty, I'm not sure they had completely dialed in their pricing and portion sizes yet (which seems pretty normal for such a new restaurant). But after the meal we had there the other night, it's clear that they've totally nailed it! The food was that perfect combination of exciting and comforting, plus the prices were cheaper and the portions were bigger. Not only did we leave full and happy, but genuinely eager to come back. It's hard to single out the best dishes of the night, but there were a few that I haven't been able to stop thinking about: confit leeks with gribiche sauce, perfectly grilled pork with brown butter bernaise, and probably the best whole grilled fish I've ever had. There was a lot of plate licking happening at this dinner! The cocktails are also beautifully made, and there's just this really fun, dinner-party-type vibe in the restaurant that makes me want to spend more time there, whether's it's at a table with a bunch of friends, or sitting at the counter watching the chefs do their thing in the open kitchen. At one point the whole restaurant even spontaneously erupted into a round of applause! I'm pretty impressed by how this restaurant has evolved so much so soon (obviously they're really listening to what their customers are telling them). Now that Margot has totally come into its own, it will definitely the kind of fun, inviting, delicious neighborhood spot that I keep coming back to again and again.

I've been to Margot a few times and the new menu truly lives up to the restaurant's promise: it's like the best dinner party you've been to and you don't want it to end! The price and portion sizes have been adjusted and you can have a decadent and fun meal without breaking the bank. We will definitely be making this a regular in our restaurant rotation!

I dined here tonight with 5 of my friends. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed with our experience. While the food was overall good, portions were extremely small and lacking in substance. Specifically, my gluten-free friend found it extremely difficult to find food to order on the menu. She was forced to order the "scallops" as her entree, but it was only one scallop cut into small pieces. The "scallops" (one scallop) was TWENTY FOUR DOLLARS. It would be cheaper to drive to the Hamptons and harvest my own scallops from the bottom of the ocean.

This is very overpriced for the small portions and generally bland menu. I wouldn't go back.

My Doc Holliday was ok. I found my bartender to be chilly and unfriendly. Didn't ask me how the drink was. Turned away as I was asking a question. Dropped the check off as if he had 20 other customers to attend to in a dive bar (it's not a dive and the place was dead empty). I actually asked if he was ok and he made some excuse and acted like he wasn't in the people business. Maybe it's just this bartender, but I didn't have the best first impression and wouldn't readily go back.

This was one of the most expensive and least satisfying meals I've had in NYC in a long time. Either the portions need to be basically doubled or the prices cut in half. Atmosphere and service were good though. Hope they adjust cause I never want to see a place fail.

The food, atmosphere, and service were all superb! Every menu item we ordered (beets, Brussels, rigatoni, steak, branzino) was fresh and seemed like every ingredient was thought out and purposeful. Cocktails-Amazing.The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere had all good vibes. One of the best restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. 100% recommend.

This establishment is cute for small eats. Date night. Trying to get to know someone. It gives me a sexy intimate vibe. Even if you are by yourself and want to have a nice wine and reflect on life's blessings . I would recommend
