Great fun spot at Rancharrah. Very good chips and salsa and variety of excellent classic Mexican Dishes with some flair. My wife and I have always had very nice and pleasant service. Last time we were in they had an unexpected Concert and we were able to select a table with a perfect view on the covered patio. It was like a 10 person Latin Jazz Pop group with several horns, keyboards, drums, guitar and male & female Vocalist. Then there was an Award winning Men's Vocal Quartet that was also fantastic. To finish up they all performed a few songs together, crowd really Loved it. 03/02/25 Have been a few times now. Went in today for late lunch. Great service by Jasmine, super patient, fun and knew the menu and kitchen. Started with some chips with red salsa also served with nice fresh Pico de Gallo, was really good. Had Barria Tacos recommended by Jasmine, they were excellent, came out nice and hot, 3 Tacos loaded with beef and some grilled onions on top, barria sauce was excellent like one of best I have had. Really nice meal and time. 06/24/25 Went in for Happy Hour and early light dinner. Had Cheese Quesadilla and Potato Taquitos with Chips and Salsas. Chips and Salsa are Excellent. Quesadilla and Taquitos were really good, very creative and tasty. Wife also had 2 Happy Hour Margaritas and said they were really good. Nice people and service.

This place is AMAZING! From the moment you walk in! My husband and I were IMMEDIATELY greeted by Geraldo who ended up being our waiter. He was kind patient friendly and VERY knowledgeable. He gave recommendations on drinks and he was ON POINT!The decor is Lovely. (Even the bathroom lol) The food was a 10- I had absolutely NO COMPLAINTS! This will definitely be one of our new spots for date night. THANK YOU!

The food was great. We sat outside and our server ignored our table while he hung around the bar inside for two hours. Multiple times we had to have another server grab him. After providing terrible service he charged us 20% auto gratuity even though we were only a party of four adults, a toddler and a baby, probably because he knew we would not tip well after how bad his service was. Really bummed the service was so bad considering how good the food was.

Google
Best chile verde enchiladas !!!! The Molcajete was also delicious! You can not miss order the chips & salsa and guacamole, I loved the green sauce BTW! Excellent service and very friendly staff, definitely one of the best Mexican meals I've had in Reno. The place was very busy, but we could see how the employees were trying hard to still give such good service. We will definitely be back soon! The Guava Margarita and the Paloma were also perfect.

I'll start with some positives: We were seated right away. The place was clean. The location is nice, isn't congested, and has esthetic appeal. Wonderful selection of tequila. Now onto the food.. incredibly disappointing experience. The flavor was not quite there. And worse yet, the meals really weren't even cooked correctly. I got the molcajete. Insanely bad. Cheap, small shrimp and way too much cheese. Frankly, I've never seen cheese melted into the sauce like that.. and now I know why. This is better suited to garbagy American fast food. Another issue - they don't sear, sauté, or grill any of the meat. I asked about this thinking the kitchen had just forgotten. When I asked, I just received a puzzled look. So I went to look at their Google page to show the waitress. Then i realized why she was confused. They just don't do this. Why? No clue. It doesn't take that long and adds so much flavor to the dish. The entire table agreed that the only thing that was worth getting was one of the appetizers. I can't remember what it was called, but it was essentially their grazing board. That was amazing. But I noted that likely they didn't make any of this and simply assembled it - granted, presentation was very nice. O boy, I forgot to mention one of the worst parts. We start eating the rice and all start looking at each other. It's awfully familiar, but also clearly devoid of any flavor that could be described as "Mexican." Not kidding, we're pretty sure it was Uncle Ben's rice. Not a joke. This place is a joke. And then you look at the clientele and realize it isn't catering to many Mexicans. The whole place is filled with the fairer-skinned people. And this makes sense. No offense to non-Latinos who haven't grown up on good, home cooked Mexican food. But.. this food is for you guys. The food at the taco truck by PJ's is considerably better. And at a fifth of the price.

Google
Overall I'd say 3.5 stars....Really nice location with great outdoor seating. Our service was excellent. Great chips and salsa, but both my buddy and I felt that our entree was mediocre. I'll likely go back to try something else, maybe other entrees are better than the mole.

Google
This is probably my favorite location of theirs as it's so nice, and parking makes it easy to meet up with folks for dinner. The ambiance is upscale, and the staff are very hospitable. I can usually get in without needing a reservation. My favorite entree here is the shrimp quesadilla as it's the perfect portion size, and a strawberry margarita! Great spot for a nicer professional lunch, or just to meet up with friends.

The lengua tacos were tender and well prepared. The beans and rice were authentic. I enjoyed the ambiance and restaurant design. The flan was classically prepared. Texture and flavor were satisfying. Lots of taco options. I will be returning with my wife in the near future.

Yelp
amazing This is not your traditional Mexican huge portion restaurant. This is small plates and amazing Tequila. The Tuna ceviche is amazing. The tacos are fantastic street tacos with the most amazing tastes of cilantro rice and black beans. Perfect portion. Jasmine, our server was fantastic. Amazing Patio seating. Love it

Yelp
Swung by on a Saturday evening for some dinner The staff was great - prompt, helpful and friendly I made sure the tacos were gluten free and was told yes, couldn't decide what to order so I picked 2 tacos and told the server to surprise me for the third flavor (after I told him I was gluten free...) We ordered cadillac margs and guac which was super yummy and fresh, the chips were warm and just wanted we needed. Once the app was done the food came out, much to my sadness mine contained a shrimp taco in a flour tortilla --sigh-- I had to explain again that I am gluten free and to please bring me only corn tortillas - off he went with my plate and back he came with 3 corn tortilla tacos - lengua, fish and shrimp the Lengua was my favorite, the fish was good, but too spicy for me and the shrimp was good and fresh. We passed on dessert but enjoyed the family feel of the center and just being outside on a beautiful patio. Will go back for sure

Yelp
Amazing ceviche (mango and tuna). Perfect portion size. The best date night Mexican restaurant in Reno. The tequila selection has some of my favorites that I can usually only find in Mexico. +1 for a great patio experience.

Yelp
First time here- if I'm in Reno again, I'll be back. The food was really good and flavorful. Everything. Was fresh and the presentation was great. The staff was friendly, but could have been a little More attentive. The portion sizes are small for what you pay for, just a forewarning. Other than that, very happy and good job overall.

Yelp
We were able to get a table outside so that we could enjoy the warm breeze while enjoying drinks and appetizers. The service was great and our server checked in with us just enough. Rancharrah is such a nice area. Pet-friendly, corn hole and just an overall relaxing time. The drinks were very tasty with a wide variety of margarita flavors. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Really loved the service here - so personable and friendly and truly attentive at just the right moments. The food was quite good too, an excellent value for the dollar, especially in this fancy part of town at Rancharrah! Step inside and enjoy this beautiful understated interior that is the perfect match to the Mexican food served here. PRO TIP: 1) Even though the hours say they close at 11pm, it's the BAR that closes at 11. The kitchen closes at 9pm! Be that as it may, the earliest folks in our large party of 16 arrived just before 9 yet the restaurant staff graciously took our orders from the appetizer menu even after 9pm, and the food came right on out.. Thank you so much for accommodating our starving clan with quesadillas, nachos, enchiladas and tacos.. Still a broad and varied selection for a late dinner! Great water service, and a caring wait staff. Our selections: 1) CHILE VERDE ENCHILADA (10/10). Just $12 - worth every penny. Two enchiladas with a tiny scoop of tasty rice and beans for just $12!! Each enchilada begins with a thick corn tortilla filled with big-ish chunks of tender juicy moist pork shoulder. I loved every bite! The tomatillo sauce, combined with a bit of queso blanco (cotija?). and a drizzle of sour cream was perfect. Nothing too salty, with the flavors and textures complex and varied, Bang-on! This plate was so much better for so much less $$ spent compared to other places, and yet, in a nicer venue! Yes, the sides of rice and beans are very small, but it's properly sized for an appetizer IMHO.. 2) ELOTE (corn appetizer) (9.5/10) $4! Corn sliced OFF the cob in big chunks with a light layer of sour cream, lime and cotija cheese all mixed in. it looks as if It would be heavy, but tasted light on the tongue and tummy. Very good! The only way to maybe improve on this would be to have a bit of char on it.. but naah.. it's a teeny bit healthier this way, I'd still order this again as is! 3) SIDE OF CHIPS with GUACAMOLE (9.5/10) Chips were a bit on the thicker side, but the guac was superb with a lighter saucy (not watery) consistency. The thicker (and thus stronger) chips were needed to scoop up the totally delicious guac! 4) CHICKEN TACOS $12 (7.5/10) Two smallish street tacos - chicken tasted kind of average.. nothing special here, and not the best value - the guac on the side was excellent - same stuff as in the side of chips above. GETTING HERE: Tons of parking once you thread your way through the labyrinthine maze of traffic circles to get here. Many Tesla/EV charging stations too right there in the parking lot. Some other fine eateries are also here to explore in this open-air collection of establishments at Rancharrah. It's just 5-8 minutes worst case down the road from the Reno-Sparks Convention Center south of Midtown. Yeah.. We definitely wouldn't mind coming back here at all.. We just might make a point of it!

Yelp
My family was in town visiting and we decided to go to Rancharrah for live music on Wednesdayand have dinner at Mari Chuy's. They have a great outdoor area so it was the perfect spot to relax, dine and enjoy the entertainment. To start, I ordered the mango margarita and my sister ordered the guava. Omg, delicious and packed with flavor. We both ordered another! We then started with the guacamole and salsa spread as an appetizer. Everything was fresh and tasty. Our two teenagers devoured it all in no time. The tortilla chips are made in house and excellent. The four of us shared the Ensalada de Caesar and Al Pastor Bowl. The Caesar was a fabulous take on the traditional including jalapeno bacon and a soft boiled egg. The Bowl was chock full of meat, beans, cilantro rice, roasted vegetables, lettuce, tomato, pickled onions and topped with sour cream and guacamole in a crispy, flakey tortilla bowl. Very fresh and filling. Our waitress was very kind, attentive and patient with our teens :) It made for a great evening out with family. We all agreed to come back next time family is in town.

Yelp
This Mari Chuy's is newer and more modern than the one in midtown, got a cute vibe with a nice interior . Server was amazing - we had 2 kids with us 6 month and 1 yr old, she brought them sliced oranges to eat voluntarily, and kept up with us the entire time we were there. I Had a blackberry margarita - it was good but I think I like my margaritas with a kick Food wise it was just ok, the stone bowl was good we got the combo chicken shrimp and beef one - it looked better than it tasted tho and I wish it came with a little more beef.

Yelp
Went for late lunch with my Mom and we were able to sit outside to enjoy the nice weather and patio area. Staff were friendly and food was good. It was a little slow to get service at the beginning, but once a server arrived food came out quick, tasted good, but not sure where the pineapple topping was for the tacos
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Staff was friendly, but not very attentive. We ate outside, which was excellent. Great atmosphere. Food was decent but sides are very small. When you get a side with beans, it is in a tiny bowl that holds about 3 tablespoons. You have to order your chips and salsa separately. They bring you a small bag that has tortilla chips in it and the guacamole was also very small.

Yelp
A friend and I had such an amazing lunch here today! OMG!!! I was so impressed! The food was SO fresh, tasty and delicious. First off, our server asked if we wanted chips and salsa and who says no to that, right? So then she asked if we wanted spicy or mild salsa. We chose spicy and it was actually spicy! So hard (for me) to find. Anyway, along with the chips and spicy salsa, we also had the pico de gallo. My friend, who is not as much of a heat seeker as I am, put a few dabs of spicy salsa on her chips with pico and we were both blissfully happy. As far as food, my friend had a beautiful chile relleno and I had nopales (cactus) tacos. Both menu items were beyond delicious. The restaurant is warm and welcoming and our server was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
By far my favorite mushroom tacos in all of Reno. Bonus the guacamole comes with BACON! Monday-Thursday they have happy hour unfortunately we were here on a Friday. Plenty of parking as it's at Rancharrah. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Lots of tequila options but if you're like me and not a tequila drinker they have beer and wine. Cool vibe very chill good for small or large groups.

Yelp
What a wonderful hidden gem- I am thrilled that I stumbled upon this place. The service was excellent and the food came out in a timely manner. We got the vegetarian fundido and it was incredible; the vegetables were perfectly seasoned and the chips are clearly homemade (always a win!). I got the vegetable molacjete as my entree, and it was unlike any mexican dish that I have ever had. I was so sad that I couldn't find room to finish the whole dish!! I'm passing through Reno to ski for only a couple of days and I look forward to returning.
google avatar

JR R.

Yelp
Great service, amazing food! Sweeping array of tequilas! Such sweet service! Jasmine is amazing! Friendly, warm, attentive. I was jonesing for the "off menu" meal I had on our first visit, but couldn't remember what it was called, but of course Jasmine remembered! My best half can't get past the rib eye tacos! Oh...and BlackBerry Margarita...? Next level. If you haven't been...you must go...and ask for Jasmine!

Yelp
We have visited many times as the Rancharrah village is a wonderful spot to hang out when the weather is nice. Our food and service is consistently excellent. This time we had the shrimp Ceviche (nice citrus with a bit of spice from jalapeño), Chicken taquitos (love the side of guacamole) and the Verde Enchilada. More than enough foots for three of us. The dog friendly patio is a great spot to chill out.

Love the ambiance and decor. Excellent service at the bar! And quick!! Food was flavorful and delicious!!! Black beans and cilantro rice were awesome! I will be back!

Yelp
This was my first visit to Mari Chuy's at Rancharrah. Mexican food is not always my first choice (lived close to Mexican border for 8 years, had my fill to last a lifetime). But my friend wanted to go here, so we went. Was delighted with the atmosphere. Very modern, unlike their downtown location. Since it was lunch and had some driving to do, we opted for Virgin Marguaritas .. I had a Blackberry .. it was delicious .. would have been amazing if I actually had so Tequila in it. We share a Guacamole & Chips .. delicious fresh made guac. And we shared a Torta .. basically a Mexican Sandwich. We opted for Roasted Port with, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickled jalapenos. Unfortunately they forgot the jalapenos, but didn't matter, they put avacado on it and it was delicious. I kind of think I'd like to go back another time, been a long time since I had a good quesadilla .. I;ll bet it good here.

Yelp
I have been a patron of MariChuy's for many years at the various other locations in Reno. Recently I was in South Reno and was desperately hungry and decided to try out available option at Rancherra for lunch. I ended up going to MariCHuy's by default - Prennen was packed and the other options were not open on a Monday. I was really glad I did. I was looking for something light and healthyish and was wooed by the description of the "Veggie Bowl". It was a healthier take on the traditional "Taco Salad" that is a ubiquitous offering among all Tex-Mex establishments. It was as stated - all veggies (except for the sour cream indulgence and the taco bowl). Ingredients were fresh and a nice balance of flavors. Loved the pickled onions on the top. Amber provided excellent service and walked me through the various options for the Veggie Bowl. It really was made to order. She brought me sparkling water to drink with a wedge of lime and lemon at no extra charge and checked back in to see if all was good. The space is bright and open and clean. It has a nice casual atmosphere that hits the right ambiance for both the location and the cuisine. There were very few patrons there so the noise level was - nonexistent. I would definitely make a return visit when I am in the area again.

Yelp
Another delicious dinner at Mari Chuy's, Rancharrah. Chili relleno & Mocajete with corn tortillas.
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Not sure why only 3.6 stars, but this place was great. Neat location with outdoor seating, great drink choices and menu options for food. There's a lot of cool other shops in this little village and even a concert area. Give this place a try!
google avatar

Christiane W.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but was sadly disappointed. Very overpriced for mediocre food. For two adults, we spent $160 for drinks, two appetizers, and an entree each. The service was okay and a bit slow at times even when it was slow at the restaurant. The coconut margarita was dangerously delicious, you couldn't really taste the alcohol. The Jalapeno Margarita was super spicy, it wasn't my favorite. I also ordered a Mezcal margarita and it was $20! They charge you for the shot of Mezcal and then charge you an extra $2 to make it a margarita. It definitely wasn't worth it. Neither was the $13 bland tasting Michelada, I couldn't even finish it and that is very unlike me. We ordered the chips and salsa trio, both were good. We also tried the House Special Queso Fundido, probably the best thing I ate here. The queso and the chorizo complimented each other perfectly. For dinner we had the fish tacos with the smallest little portion of rice and beans I've ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. It was okay, but not the best. The chicken and potato taquitos were a bit on the overcooked side and had more toppings then filling and were pretty small. I wouldn't recommend. Overall, I don't plan to return anytime soon. The outdoor vibe is cool. We enjoyed the patio seating. The coconut Margarita and the queso fundido was the best part of our meal. Everything else including the service was just okay and mediocre. Definitely not a personal favorite.

Casey K.

Yelp
Great restaurant with authentic Mexican food and drinks. The owner Chuy is so charismatic and he really cares about his product. I think that he sets the tone for this family owned restaurant. We loved the location, the ambiance, and the vibes here. So far we have loved every dish especially the tacos. If you are looking for something lighter. The ceviche was fresh and beautiful. The margaritas are made with love and you can tell that this is a house made mix and not something that was shipped to them. If you are feeling adventurous, ask for the drink with the cricket!
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
To be fair, I followed my nose to this place. Yes, the signage and decoration is all lovely alcohol, especially the tequila delightfulness... But I was here for the tacos. And yes, I will be back for more tacos. They are Lengua tacos were some of the best I've had in years in years
google avatar

Ronald F.

Yelp
Excellent tastes, service. Fantastic patio dining with live music. Chuys at Rancharra is a must for fine Mexican dining.
google avatar

Marta De D.

Yelp
It's a really good place if your family likes Mexican food. Their food is 4 stars service FOR SURE is 5 stars. Food comes out quickly and chips and salsa is AMAZING If you are looking for a good restaurant for lunch remind yourself about this place because I have to say it's pretty good
google avatar

Olga K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Quick service. We enjoyed our meals. I could not resist the cheese queso appetizer. It was a delicious treat. The ceviche was fresh with the option to choose fresh tuna or shrimp. Mole enchiladas were tasty. So, overall, we had a great experience.
google avatar

Beth N.

Yelp
Unfortunately, no. Seriously has gone downhill. 6 people, all meals were unsatisfactory. Our waiter was super nice. Love the location. Prices high and had to go to Port of subs after due to very small portions
google avatar

Bailey H.

Yelp
This is a very high end Mexican restaurant. The quality of the food is worth the price. Yes, it is more expensive than a majority of Mexican restaurants in town, but I would gladly pay the price. The best dish is the green chili carnitas enchiladas! The pineapple margarita is amazing as well! This is our new favorite place! The staff is always friendly and when they are not busy with customers, they are cleaning. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Sharmeen F.

Yelp
Came here for a drink after dinner with my bestie! We were in the mood for a spicy margarita and figured this would be the best place! I ordered the pineapple jalapeño margarita and asked if they could make it a little extra spicy since I love a good kick in my drinks. It wasn't very spicy the first go around but the bartender muddled up some jalapeños to help out and it was really good. We are planning to come back for some tequila tastings and can't wait to try more!

Maria R.

Yelp
Great ceviche! The green carnitas enchiladas are delicious too. I love the ambience. Outdoor seating. Warm, friendly service.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
This place is pretty fancy and honestly the prices aren't too bad for the quality of food. I would say the Mexican food here is better than most places in Reno. However, some of the portions are odd the skimpy for example when you get rice and beans on the side to make it seem like a good value, but you literally get one tiny spoonful of life and one tiny spoonful of beans there were a skimpy on these cheap ingredients which you think wouldn't be that Expensive to make the food but they're just weirdly stingy on some of these things. Also, the Coke was like really stingy on ice for some reason. I'd say the ingredients here is very good, but they're just overall too stingy.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Food services are good, we both showed up and seated promptly. The food portions is smaller then expected. The classic margarita is good, it's sweet and and sour at the same time, it's almost like pineapple, but it's not pineapple. Their homemade salsa do pack a heat. I had a rib eye tacos, it's perfectly balanced, the heat of the salsa took me by surprise, but it's good. Scallops are perfectly cooked, Ceviche is also good. My date also enjoyed her lunch meal. As for my tacos, I wished it's just a little bigger portion. I would be back at this location, and I would recommend this location to family and friends, it's a beautiful scenery and you can take a walk around the ranch harrah.
google avatar

Alyssa D.

Yelp
I've been to Mari Chuy's at Rancharrah a few times and they deliver a consistently good experience! Pro tip: This is a great lunch spot in Rancharrah! This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. I like that they offer the robust Mexican flavors we all know and love with a little twist and that they have several plates that qualify as healthy(ish). I love their Mexican Bowl with shrimp. I've had consistently pleasant service and the food looks and tastes fresh. I will definitely keep this spot in my lunch rotation. Their margaritas are also fantastic!!
google avatar

Christy D.

Yelp
We have always loved Mari Chuy's but after last night's birthday dinner for my husband I had to leave a review. The night was absolute perfection! First off, we had the most amazing service from the entire team. E was our server and did an absolutely fantastic job. She was attentive and ensured we always had plenty of drinks and food. The bartenders were taking care of all of the fantastic cocktails and Sergio even made one that wasn't on the menu which we all loved. The mushroom tacos were once again mind-blowing good and all of our food was tasty. The ambience on the patio and being right on the Rancharrah Courtyard made for the perfect place to celebrate.
google avatar

Karen A.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more stars, since we've had nothing but good experiences here. Been here once for happy hour and numerous times for dinner. While happy hour might not be the best in town, the entrees have always been on point. One of my favorite things about Mari Chuy's is their large variety of vegetarian options. We've tried and liked the nachos, taquitos, and enchiladas. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this will not be your place. But if you're looking for a creative spin on traditional food at a restaurant with great ambience, Mari Chuy's Rancharrah is it! P.S. You must try the mascarpone cake and churros.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Dove into Chuy's last night to enjoy delish vittles and catch the end of TNF. Our timing was perfect as Sergio was behind the bar and Chuy was sitting at the bar awaiting our arrival. Enjoyed a wonderful evening tasting incredible tequilas and savory plates over rich conversation with dear friends. When you walk into MariChuy's, you're walking into their living room and treated like family. A quick note about Dame Mas tequila. I have only found it at MariChuy's and we tasted the reposado and the extra anejo aged five years in cognac barrels. Absolutely sublime experience! Although these bottles are in short supply, yet they are available for purchase. ;-) We shared the mushroom tacos, molcajete, and a smorgasbord of chips, salsa, and guacamole. Enjoyed conversing with the chef, Christian, Sergio, and of course, hanging with Chuy on a frosty Thursday evening. Looking forward to our next visit.

Mary S.

Yelp
My friend and I went to Happy Hour last Friday and Alexis was our server. He was absolutely delightful and very attentive, an exemplary employee in every way! The food and Strawberry Margarita was amazing too!

Anonomous O.

Yelp
Wish we would have grabbed our servers name, but we didn't. We came in hoping for a nice lunch because we didn't want to stand in the massive line at Perenn - but ended up leaving pretty irritated with a couple of stomach aches and will definitely not be back. Server was so rude and just blatantly didn't want to do her job. Upon arriving we explicitly said my husband was allergic to onions. She made it very obvious that her cooks could not accommodate for allergies. "Everything is cooked on the same grill, so..." um... that means tell your cooks to CLEAN THE GRILL? (At this time we were the only people here to eat, it shouldn't have been an issue) Also made a comment of "yeah I don't want you to get sick.." it's not a matter of him getting "sick" but a serious hospital visit because of a restaurant not accommodating an ALLERGY that we have made very clear could result in him going into anaphylactic shock. After telling her that my husband was allergic to onions, the bean dip we ordered came out with pickled onions on it. You've GOT to be kidding. At that point after we got tired of her nasty attitude and her inability to do her job as she made it clear nothing we wanted could be prepared without onions in it. We then asked for the check and said we didn't want anything that we ordered and that we wanted to leave to go somewhere else. She then went back and forth with our table and the kitchen and still brought out our food that we said we no longer wanted. We paid, and left. But will not be back, and we both have stomach aches now. Food isn't good and service is worse. But if you want a hefty selection of tequila and a drunk meal that you hopefully won't remember and will probably throw up later, this is the place for you.

Yelp
The food here pretty terrible. I'll come here from time to time because of its location and outdoor seating and yeah I want to eat some fancy Mexican.. and I always hope for better results from the food, unfortunately I'm always wondering how I got duped again. Their food is just bland or too spicy or too salty... like nothing is ever right here. And they bring you out chips and salsa, you think it's complementary and then charge you for it, seven dollars? I would prefer to eat from Taco Bell.. This place just kinda sucks and I wouldn't waste your appetite here. Maybe go for a drink and sit on the patio if the spirt possesses you, but that's as far as you should test these waters.

Yelp
This was our first visit to this establishment, but it definitely won't be our last. We arrived on Labor Day with no expectations, all we heard it was at this place had some great restaurants to try. Try we did! We started our meal with the nachos and they arrived filled with fresh roasted vegetables and other condiments and they tasted fantastic. My wife ordered the ceviche, and it arrived with a healthy portion of avocado, looked fantastic, and, since I get to taste everything, I can assure you that it was fresh, vibrant and tasty. I had to Chile Rellano. If you know me, you know I love a cheesy gooey meal. And these chili Rellanos had just the right amount of cheese and a fresh homemade sauce that was to die for. As you suspect, we shared our meals with each other and we we're very satisfied. But, they had a flan on the menu. Who are we to resist a flan? We were not disappointed. In short, this restaurant has been added to our list of Temptations when we head to Reno. We are already planning to give in to this latest temptation.

Yelp
Why didn't you tell me this place was so much fun!? The cocktails - AMAZING. Service - Cameron was terrific! Javier and Eddie both stopped by to give us a warm welcome. The FOOD!! Fundido, Ceviche, those mushroom tacos everyone talks about and the wedge salad with the pork skin? Tooooo die for! Such a casual place with a great vibe. Cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
We've eaten here many times, and the food is good. I was annoyed when we arrived today and they wouldn't seat us because they were closing in 20 minutes...so why don't you close when you are not planning to serve anymore?

Yelp
This family business is a great member of our Reno community. The owners are very kind to their customers and want to help those around them. This restaurant has a great atmosphere. The tequila lockers are a unique touch. I've had the enchiladas. The green Chile dishes are hard to find locally otherwise. A lot of the margaritas are on the sweeter side, but there are a wide variety. The only reason one star was knocked off was because this restaurant is on the pricier side in comparison to other Mexican restaurants locally.

Yelp
Decent food, really cool ambiance, and nice people. BUT 14 bucks for standard street tacos, and the absolute tiniest portion of rice (nearly microscopic!) and soupy beans?! Great to come in, nice people, extremely overpriced. Go to Bistro Habanero or El Rosal for a real good authentic treat!

Yelp
We have been a fan of Mari Chuy's for quite some time now and have enjoyed their midtown and new IMAX location many times. BUT this Rancharra location I won't come back to. I understand they are catering to the "upper" and "more fine dining" type of customer at this Rancharra location but the changes to their food quality, quantity, and menu is a complete joke. It's doesn't feel like a Mari Chuys location at all. I came here with my entire family for drink and dinner and across the board we were very disappointed. I ordered steak tacos and was basically given bird food for $15. I understand this location probably has more overhead but you can't change more and give WAY less. Most are good with one or the other but when you do both that's when you lose loyal customers. Personally charge me a couple bucks more but keep the food quality and quantity consistent with the rest. I won't be back here again.

Yelp
This location of Chuy's is in a new shopping center in Reno. Cool outdoor spaces with bocce ball and large chess. The inside is cool. Murals of women, Frida, Ake Loren face painting. Menu is delish sounding. My issue is the service and taste/ quality of food. Dry rice, bland tastes. Weird service. Yawning employees. I ordered Al pastor tacos (which are always juicy anywhere else) but here was dry as was the rice. Just not good. Bring your date here for the atmosphere and if they love the food then don't see them again.

Yelp
Came to lunch with some work friends. Nice weather out, so the doors were open which let in a nice breeze. Took awhile to get the orders going, waitress was kind enough to get a us an extra guac. Guac itself was not good, chunky tomatoes and too much lime. Ordered the chili verde. Dishes came out in a reasonable time. My dish was more soupy, the cilantro rice was good but they give you enough for a 3 year old. Not enough pork as well for charging $18 a dish. Only a few small pieces. Waitress forgot my tortilla, had to remind her and continued to wait until my food got cold. Then I got them. Overall experience, not great. Location is prime. Interior is great. Service and quality of the food, below par. Disappointed.

Yelp
Whenever we go to the Rancharrah, we usually eat here. The food is fresh, we love the outdoor seating and friendly staff. It's very modern as well. It's clean and we like it here a lot.
