Philly’s Best Fusion Restaurants | Eater Philly

"With two locations (one in North Philadelphia and the other in Center City), Mari Mari offers sushi with an Asian American twist. Its sizable sushi menu includes classic Mari rolls like Philly cheese avocado, egg omelet, or sweet potato, and Inari (stuffed) rolls like coconut corn cheese, spicy crab, or creamy scallop." - George Banks-Weston

Food came out quick and fresh despite it being the beginning of dinner rush. Soup is very flavorful and delicious. Perfect for this chilly weather. Wish there was a little more meat than the two small slices, but still a great cheap meal overall.

The ramen is good! Warm and spicy. I had spicy miso ramen with pock chashu. The Chashu was nice. I was here on Saturday evening so it was quite crowded but it took around 15 mins.

I always get the spicy pork udon from here— it’s my favorite. However today this is what I received. I asked for spicy pork udon with no cabbage and no carrots, and ended up with half a bowl of onions instead. This is a ridiculous amount of onions for a meal.

Had the tonkotsu ramen. The price was great and the broth was good. I really liked the egg that came with it. The pork was amazing.

This is my 2nd time here…I really wanted to like this place because it got such good reviews. Unfortunately, I thought the food was below average and was disappointed again. There’s something unusually sweet about the sushi rice - I got 3 rolls - very skimpy on the salmon. I also ordered the tan tan ramen. I was expecting a richer bodied broth, but it was watery and sour. Their food should be cheaper for the quality of food they give.

Both dishes were very rich, warm, and worth trying again. The miso bacon cream udon soupless is definitely made for anyone who loves cheese.

I recommend doing the Mari Combo, 18 pieces of sushi for 10 dollars I think that is a deal. I got the chicken katsu, korean bbq, and crab with Mayo. I also wanted to try more of the inari, but it could range anywhere for 4-5 dollars per one, but definitely worth it.

The ramen was flavorful! The yuzu juice was sweet and delicious

Yelp
The decor and space here was really cute. You simply order at the counter and take your seat. I loved that they had some of the food on display so you already know what it looks like. Came here to try the inari and they were so good! The creamy scallop was my sister and I's favorite from the six different ones we ordered. It was creamy, sweet and the perfect texture combo. Close second had to be the salmon tataki. The eel/unagi was a little sweeter than we were expecting, but was delicious nonetheless. Tuna in the tuna mayo was cooked (reminds me of canned tuna). Spicy crab is exactly as you'd expect. The most disappointing one of the six we tried was the garlic shrimp. They were overcooked and hard to chew. Their house made drink pouches were refreshing! The prices here were pretty reasonable. Makes the perfect quick snack to-go! A pretty satisfying experience overall. We need to come back and try the ramen next time!

Yelp
What a delightful Korean-Japanese fusion cafe! They offer ramen, delicious fusion dishes, and inari which is like giant sushi but with tofu skin instead of seaweed wraps. The whole place, while small, is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated with a unique personality. Love the creative inari, and the ramen was very good as well. See my photos. One of the highlights is their fruit punches that come in funny-looking plastic bags (that reminded me of IV bags). There were yuzu and pineapple punches. Yuzu was the best!

Yelp
Wallmart in New castle Delaware Is the worst place to shop in entire United States. There customer service representatives are rude. Don't care. Lacking personalty.

Yelp
FOOD/DRINKS I had their lemonade pouch and tonkotsu ramen. The lemonade was aesthetically pleasing and not too sweet-- something I would definitely return for. The tonkotsu ramen was hot and flavorful and definitely hit the spot on a cold evening. It's solid, but not something I'd go out of my way for, considering the numerous other ramen options in the vicinity. A couple weeks later, I also checked out their salmon and bulgogi rolls-- both solid choices for a relatively inexpensive outing, but also not something I'd go out of my way for. My friends always order their crab inaris (sadly allergic to them), so if checking out Mari Mari, I'd definitely give those a shot! SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly. AMBIANCE There is ample seating within the store, and the aesthetics of the store fit the theme very well. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity.

Yelp
The cashier was all over the place. I ask if we can switch out the mushroom and bean sprout for tofu and corn because it's the same price and she said yes. Then I ask if a bowl of noodle has half an egg or 1 egg and she goes it's 2 pieces one whole. So I said perfect. When she rang everything up she goes it's $16 instead of $12.95 because the corn and tofu was extra charge right after she told me I can switch it out for no charge. So then I said forget about it and just make it regular. When the noodle was ready I picked it up and only saw one half of the egg... in which then she told me oh let me ask for u. And said it's actually half only and if I want I can order another half as a side but they can't swipe my card for only $1.... Besides my kids liking the food, the service sucks

Yelp
Great little spot inside the HMart food court. Simple menu and hits the spot if you have a sushi craving. Haven't tried the ramen yet, so that's next.

Yelp
I'm only writing this because of my extreme greed. I want this place to stay busy and open for many years to come. Def seek them out! This is my secret hidden fave spot to grab ramen. When you are done with your ramen order up some inari to go. You're belly is stuffed now with slurpable noodles and swimming in porky tonkatsu BUT hold up. You know later you won't want a full meal but you want a lil somethin something, then you remember that your past self read this lil PRO TIP about your lil inari snack stash hahaha. ****located within the Hmart food court****

Yelp
Food was very delicious and service was extremely quick. Everything on the menu is at a great price. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Good ramen, warm and tasty. Nice ingredients. Broth could use some more flavor / spices but overall very nice.

Yelp
My favorite Inari place so far in the US, and I always would have one or two after shopping at the H-Mart. They were very rich in ingredients and sauce, and it felt like a feast instead of a small bite.

Yelp
The food is outstanding, fresh ramen, delicious soup I would highly recommend getting Tonkotu Ramen

Yelp
Bacon cream Udon is my favorite one in Mari Mari, I would highly recommend it ! Also the special Yuzu lemonade,it tastes sweet and sour. I really love it. And can dine in here as well, the interior is classy and upscale! And the most important thing is the service was attentive and top-notch. I will come back absolutely!

Jay C.

Yelp
Bacon cream udon is pretty good, as was spicy tuna roll. Inari not so amazing, eel one was fatty.

Yelp
I visited this place on a weekday at noon and service was fairly quick. This is located in the foodcourt of a H Mart with plenty of parking and lot of seating. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was very decently priced for the quantity and quality. I loved the Pork Chashu. Probably one of the best I've tried. It just melted in my mouth. Broth was okay but could be little thick and additional flavor (garlic oil) would have been perfect. Noodles were perfectly cooked and went well with appropriate amount of veggies. They put in a boiled egg instead of a traditional ramen egg. Overall, it's a well put together big bowl of ramen that I would definitely try again. Recommended!

Yelp
Been driving by here for months , finally decided to give it try , I'm glad I did . I'm now on a sushi kick , so been in search of places near my location this was a thumbs up , ordered for work through grub hub and they gave $5 off for first time customers so that was a deal! Food was so fresh I will come back here again so I now have a second go to ... yay

Yelp
My boyfriend and I wanted a quick bite before dinner and this mini maki place was calling our name. Kimbap sounded really light and good and this place is just the spot! You get 3 rolls (6 pcs each) for ~$11 after tax. We got the spicy tuna, crab mayo and the crispy calamari. You also get a dipping sauce with it and we got the wasabi mayo. The wasabi mayo is super light and not spicy. It's more mayo tasting which makes it sweet. The makis were super cute and small. I'm sad I forgot to take a picture! I just wanted to dig in so badly!!! I highly recommend this place. 3 rolls sufficed for 2 people so I think if you were to eat by yourself, it's definitely worth the $11!

Yelp
Love this new spot in the new h mart food court. This was my first time at the new h mart and I was surprised how big it was and how organized! They have 6 spots to eat in the food area. I chose Mari Mari because they had 5 different soups to choose from and I was craving ramen. I tried the chicken noodle, pork and spicy ramen soup and I loved the simplicity of the chicken noodle. Reminded me of Olympic noodle in la. Would've loved to try the dumplings but they were out. Wanted to make a post because when I searched ramen it didn't show up bc people only posted about the rolls. Girl was friendly at counter and everything was packaged nicely (it was ready in 15 min so I shopped at h mart really quick then came back). There are no tables so it for take out only, I believe. The purple tea was yummy too! Soups are around $10/piece.

Yelp
10/10. Love it here. Came here on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM. The older man that took my order was an angel. I had a big order and he made sure that he read through everything properly and got what we needed. Menu on the TV, drinks on the side. The capri-sun like drinks were alright. Not a fan. There's a big open space in the front for dining in. Everything was packed up and ready to go in half an hour. The shrimp tempura is to die for. I've been here multiple times already. I do not enjoy the Korean BBQ but to each their own! Once our order was finished, we ordered something else and I cannot stress enough how friendly the staff is. They were understanding of us checking to see if we had gotten everything we needed. Definitely ordering again in the future.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The soupless udon is my favorite and whenever I put special requests they always get it right! We eat from this restaurant at least once a week.

Yelp
Super torn about this place. While the scallion yooboochobap (not sure what it was actually called on the menu) was amazing, everything else was pretty mediocre. I ordered 3 different maki rolls (katsu, salmon scallion, and spicy tuna). They were good, but nothing crazy. They were also falling apart at the seams, but I don't care too much for looks as much as I care about taste so it didn't bother me. However, the miso ramen I had was pretty bad. I hate to say this about any establishments food, but I honestly had a hard time eating it. The noodles were cooked well and so was the egg and chiashu pork. But holy sodium: the broth was so salty that it was just hard to eat. Even my husband who likes heavily seasoned food couldn't really it it. Maybe it was just a bad batch? Who knows? But for the sake of their rice/tofu wrap, I would probably try this place again.

Yelp
Entry: (1 Star) The H-Mart food court entry is cumbersome. Patrons must enter through the grocery store, walk to the far end of the produce at the far wall of the store, and then walk all the way to the other wall with no re-entry. Entry takes about 175 steps. Food quality: We usually frequent the noodle house and love that. But we wanted to try something new and this was also open 15 mins later than the others and we came late lol. We got the tempura shrimp combo just the way it was on the display. It was good but a little salty. We also got the eel pocket rice and the creamy scallop pocket rice. It was also good but a tad salty. Food quantity: The portions are surprisingly small and the prices are not a bang for the buck. The stars definitely get a hit for the quality and price point. Service: Very very weird. The lady was super friendly and offered us the remaining pocket rices for an undisclosable price. She kept saying she could give them all for a discount. But when we asked how much, she repeated her statement. We did that about three times and spoke in Korean too. She wrapped them up and then this young, thin guy said we can just first ring up what we wanted. Then the 20 something man told the 50 something lady to remove them from our tray. And then the lady smiled at us really enthusiastically as and after she handed us our food. Overall: It was honestly so awkward I don't think we'll ever come back to eat at this food court if we have to pass this store.

Yelp
This is my first time to try the Mari Mari. The ramen soup is a little bit salty but also good ! And I need to say the cashier is so nice. Whatever she looks young but she is so patient and sooo sweet . I went there Sunday it looks busy but she still introduces so carefully and always keep smiling ! Nice food and awesome service! I will come back!

Yelp
The 3 roll combo is a decent deal. Bf and I got the Korean BBQ, spicy beef and ham and cheese. The Korean BBQ, which was bulgogi, was my favorite. Spicy beef was good though didnt seem spicy at all (coming from someone who can't really handle anything too spicy). Ham and cheese was kinda meh. It was actually spam, not ham. The Wasabi mayo sauce was good but a little on the sweet side. The rolls are made bite sized. Very cute and shareable. Good for 2 people as a light snack/appetizer. Will definitely be back to try some more other flavors.

Yelp
Mari Mari is located in Hmart supermarket. This is a authentic Korean food court. The food and price are very attractive.

Yelp
This place is located inside Hmart which makes it super convenient to go to after shopping. They have a great selection of rolls and other appetizers for a great price. At the time, we got 3 rolls for $8.99. However, the rolls are small but filling. My favorite one was the bugolgi one as it was flavorful. I wasn't a big fan of the ham and cheese as I thought it was egg instead. If you don't eat it right away, the cheese hardens and it's not as great. I'll definitely come back to try the other flavors. Also heard that their dumplings are a good choice as well!

Yelp
Tried a bunch of inari (cheese burger, salmon, scallop, spicy crab, and unagi) and found them all incredibly yummy. Loved the rice used for its sweet undertones.

Yelp
Second time is a charm fried crab roll, crab Mayo roll avocado roll this time. Staff was friendly and efficient order was prepared quickly. Everything was fresh and quite tasty. Will try the shrimp tempura roll combo next time.

Yelp
sushi arrived hot and grub hub delivered it. The door of the building was open and the driver did not even come in it sat outside for ten minutes and was not good. really it was the driver's fault not the restaurant

Yelp
Hubby and I decided to grab a quick to-go lunch after grocery shopping. $8.50 for 3 small rolls is a ridiculously good deal, and we ended up choosing the oden, Korean BBQ, and chicken katsu. They were flavorful enough that I ended up not even using any of the sauces. Despite the rolls being small, we found ourselves feeling full afterwards. We plan on going to this H Mart location more in the future and checking out the other food court vendors.
