My mom and I had a late lunch at Mariachi's in Sumter recently, and it was delicious. We were in town visiting my dad at a physical rehab center nearby, and even on a Saturday and an off hour (3 PM), it was busy but the service was prompt.
We started out with the complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa had a kick to it. If you like mild salsa, you may need to request it or order cheese dip, guacamole or something else, but the salsa was perfect for us.
I had a Lunch #21- Quesadilla Sincronizada. Don't ask me how to pronounce the name of this dish, but it was a quesadilla that had shrimp and cheese inside, along with veggies pouring out. It came with a guacamole salad as well, so I definitely got my greens in. The portion was large and the price was right.
My mom had a Lunch #13, Pollo Borracho. This dish consisted of grilled chicken with peppers, onions, and sauce on top, salad, and rice. She gets similar dishes at the Mexican restaurant close to home, and she liked this. It was also a large portion.
Our server was nice and prompt with getting us menus, chips and salsa, our food, and the check. The glasses of water were huge and we didn't need any refills, nor did we need to-go boxes, but he checked on us anyway. Hopefully he won't be in the rehab center too long, but if he is, I'm glad we found a Mexican restaurant close by.
