Where To Eat Around The Forum

"Three words: Carne Asada Fries. Located in a fairly upscale shopping center, Maria’s is a tiny, clean restaurant that has excellent food across the board. But those carne asada fries are insanely special. Maria’s is right on your route from your 405 exit to The Forum, so you’re completely out of excuses not to stop on the way down to the Rihanna concert." - brant cox

Maria’s Rico Tacos Review - Inglewood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Located in an upscale shopping center in Inglewood, Maria’s is a tiny restaurant that has generally excellent Mexican food. But you really need to come here for the breakfast burrito and the gigantic carne asada fries. Maria’s is also right off the 405 Freeway, making it a great post-flight option after landing at LAX." - Brant Cox

Customer service was great. Friendly staff. Had an issue with a missing item. However, the young lady corrected the issue. Food portions were good. Tacos were Extra crispy and could've used a little more meat. But they tasted pretty good. Chicken and pork tamales were pretty good as well.

This little restaurant is packed with flavor. The food is good and mostly consistent. They are reasonably priced as well. I recommend going on Tuesday because they have taco specials. Today wasn’t a good day the chicken was old and dry. I understand you’re trying to save money but this was not okay. I will be back but will be sure to o try my food before leaving.

Google
We ordered 1 nachos & small fries. They were both hot & good. The fries had refried beans on it (besides cheese, sour cream, guacamole). I never tried fries that way but it was a perfect combination. They gave us deep fried chilies. My bf tried it & he got a hip-cup cuz it was too hot lol. The restaurant is not spacious & does not look really fancy. It’s not a good idea for a date, family meeting or for a group of people.

I was staying overnight in a near by hotel, so I walked to this taco shop. I had the tostada bowl. Absolutely 10/10!!! It was so delicious. I tried their steak and chicken street tacos, they were okay. But that bowl is so delicious. I definitely would eat here again. You need to try this place.

New visit this morning 07/31/2024 Exact duplicate of review from two months ago!! Surprisingly, the breakfast burrito seemed bigger and better this visit...not sure how. It was very good last time!!! New picture of whole burrito this time! (Original visit) Very personable friendly service. Went specifically for a breakfast burrito. Their Desayuno (breakfast) Burrito was my choice. Bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, cheese, and hashbrowns with both red & green sauce on the side. It's made fresh to order skillfully and quickly with "quality" ingredients. It's BIG. I had eaten more than half BEFORE I took the picture. Good value for the buck. Delicious!!! Based upon the breakfast burrito, I would guess that everything else is just as tasty!!!

I can't say I'm a regular here, but every now and then (or a couple of years) I'll be in the area during breakfast hours and will stop buy for a breakfast burrito. I've been on a bit of a breakfast burrito kick and have been slowly trying all the popular spots to varying degrees of contentedness. What I should have been doing all along was going to Maria's. I'll be the first to agree that fancy isn't always better and of course healthier IS healthier, but I'm not eating a breakfast burrito to be healthy. That's what fruit, plain yogurt, and chia seeds are for. Maria's doesn't use any healthy oils, pasture fresh eggs, fancy potatoes, aiolis, or specialty meats. What they do have is 3-meats, melty cheese, textural contrast, and a good, spicy salsa. All that for $10. Ten dollars. Alexander Hamilton, just an Alexander Hamilton, there's a million things that Maria might not do but a damn good breakfast burrito she does make.

A group of 6 of us had to come here after Dulan's screwed is and was closed when they said they would be open. The food is pretty good in quality and quantity. I took home some leftover carne asada fries, which are huge btw. I've been making them into home spun creations for several days. They're sorta like a Mexican poutine.

Google
Delivered me my best sweet corn tamales ever (3.10.20)! It was my last supper, stateside before my international adventures and simultaneously, the 2020 global shutdown happen. So glad I was blessed with fresh hot crispy rolled tacos, (with the love from above) sweet corn stuffed tamale, warm soft bean cheese burrito and a horchata out of this world! I recommend this establishment!

Yelp
Pretty good Mexican food at really reasonable prices and everyone that works here is very friendly. This time I came in for a carne asada torta and like always, this place does not disappoint. The carne asada is always tender and the agua frescas pair perfectly with any meal.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way to my hair appointment Food is ok Had a burrito carne asada I don't think I would eat there again I think service can improve and also keeping the place clean Tables looked dirty Guy took my order was nice and friendly

Yelp
While on our way to LAX I was looking for some Mexican food. I found this place and had food reviews so decided to give them a try. I was not a big fan. I had their California burrito and it was okay. My husband had their carne burrito and he also thought it was okay. I probably won't return
google avatar

Randi B.

Yelp
Tacos were asi-asi not bad but not real good. Employees provided friendly service. I was looking for a good authentic taco spot with delicious tacos.
google avatar

Bethany J.

Yelp
small, no service with a smile. Hopefully burrito makes up for it. no air conditioning so it's hot inside if your dining in. There's plenty of parking. cheap prices. nothing to write home about

Yelp
Stopped here after landing in LA- great way to start vacation!! Generous portions, variety of options for Breakfast and lunch, and friendly people. It is a small restaurant with a handful of seats- you can watch the chef cooking your meal on the flat grill while you wait. Great prices. Great food. Fresh Horchata!!

Gerardo O.

Yelp
My girlfriend placed a phone order for 2 burritos. 1 with extra meat, once at the establishment to pick up the order the cashier made an error and made the burrito with extra beans. Instead of remaking the order, the cashier gave an attitude and only offered to give the extra meat on the side. Pretty much saying add the meat yourself. (Note that we were still charged for the extra beans and meat) upon hearing this. I immediately went back to the restaurant to get a refund. Sad to say this considering I've ate here multiple times and enjoy the food but that was likely my last time ever coming here again. Poor customer service does no justice.

Yelp
Delicious food, made to order, I love when I receive my food piping hot and fresh off the grill! The wait is never long and they have a hibiscus lemonade I think it's lemonade or maybe tea but it is so refreshing and tasty, you can't go wrong! The staff is friendly and courteous for the most part and is always willing to tell you about any daily specials. I typically order my food to go but I have eaten my meal there where they have tables and chairs set up. Very cool, neighborhood spot! deli
google avatar

Gina F.

Yelp
It is full of smoke when you enter not enough ventilation . The guy taking the orders is rude and indeference would not make a burrito I wanted my way . Only what they have on the menu
google avatar

Sean S.

Yelp
Solid food for a decent price. Asada burrito was alright, however I would not rave about it. More of a takeout place than sit down. Inside was a little bit dirty.

Belle

Yelp
my food was pretty good. the service was very good as well. I recommend going here for a quick pick me up. Their food seems to be authentically made however it would be better with more flavor. I still recommend this place considering I have nothing negative to say about my experience or the food maybe needs to be careful about wearing gloves and being sanitary but it's a good stop to stop by

Yelp
Great spot for a tasty breakfast. Their Breakfast Burritos are the bomb, or you can have Carrizo and egg, carne asada, pollo, bean and cheese or even a veggie burrito. Tuesdays taco are on sale all day long and their soft shell tacos are loaded with meat. They have combination plates and will make them your way. The staff here are outstanding and don't let the line deter you, they are fast and don't forget to ask for the Green salsa (XX-hot) I like to mix it with the red salsa for a medium to hot flavor. Dine in with the LAX regulars or take it to go playa del Rey beach is on a short drive up Manchester so the next time your in the area stop by you'll be pleased.

Yelp
Great Fresh Authentic Testing Mexican food Reasonably priced made fresh with an open kitchen, Great juice Drink's !! My go to local spot never lets me down ..
google avatar

Luis N.

Yelp
Very average Mexican food, asada not flavorful , and they warmed up my wet burritos in styrofoam that melted. This cannot be the best tacos in Inglewood.
google avatar

S. J.

Yelp
The nachos were pretty average, the guacamole wasn't fresh, it was a little dark green. It has two types of cheese. The traditional cheese wasn't melted under the cheese sauce. The taco was ok, I believe it could have been more seasoned. Customer service was really good.
google avatar

Veronica S.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Tacos de lengua hit the spot. I also got sopes which were a descent size. I never liked the red salsa but theirs was flavorful and spicy. Definitely saving this location in case we are back in the neighborhood
google avatar

Aaron D.

Yelp
Good food great breakfast burritos. Very local spot. Feels very authentic. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Would've been perfect my order was a bit screwed up and didn't realize it until I went home. I'll be back for sure.

Yelp
My daughter found this place because we wanted some authentic tacos. We came and they didn't have tacos, but she got a Birria platter and I got a Birria Taco Bowl. YUM! We are it for days and it was still good. The prices are affordable, too!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place ! Open late and always delicious and traditional! Great spot to eat at if you fly in late from a flight or need a late snack!

Yelp
This place is a comedy of errors! If it can go wrong, it will go wrong! Ordered to go and our enchilada box came completely torn at the bottom, leaking enchilada sauce through the entire bag. They labeled the cheese enchilada plate "beef" and the beef enchilada plate "cheese" so the entrees were switched when we served them. Also, the cheese enchilada plate was for a child and the enchilada come so SPICY the kids could not eat them. We ordered a sweet corn tamale and they gave us a chicken tamale. And we ordered a side of guac for $2 and it was about as small of a container as they could find! Such a regret ordering from this place.

Yelp
I've had this book marked for a while and I finally got to try... it's in the same parking lot as Roscoe's and I think I prefer this place to Roscoe's. Dine in if you want some of the best carve asada fries (or nachos) in town!! Giving 5 stars bc they are that good! Order for dine in: Carne asada fries (extra crispy) w nacho + reg cheese (5/5) Carne asada nachos w nacho cheese (5/5) Al pastor tacos (3.5/5) Lengua taco (4/5) Horchata (2/5) Omg if you are looking for the best carne asada fries, or nachos in LA... come here!!! I don't know which I prefer they were both so good. Asada is flavorful, not dry, and good quality. Fries (extra crispy) held up perfectly with all the toppings and were not mushy. I also love they give options for cheese type. I'm a sucker for the fake nacho cheese and adding some regular cheese gives it a bit of the cheese pull stringy-ness we all love. SO SO GOOD and already wanting to come back for these. 5/5!! The al pastor tacos were also very good and I would get again (3.5/5). They are heavily marinated (more so than king taco) but the flavor is good, meat quality is good, and they give you a generous helping. We've just been a bit spoiled with the pastor street tacos right off the trompo. These are still good and I would still also order a pastor burrito from here to go for later. The horchata was the only thing that I didn't like as I thought it was extremely chalky and tasted like that fake bubblegum toothpaste flavor. Maybe it was the ground rice milk.. I'm not sure but I probably wouldn't order again (2/5).

Yelp
Nice eating area, great customer service very friendly chef thank you Bought a couple of tacos de asada I really liked the green salsa nice hot
google avatar

Karina M.

Yelp
We ordered the birria tacos and they were not very good. We had the beef torta and it was pretty tasty and big.
google avatar

Trini O.

Yelp
Best tacos in town. Meat is high quality and the salsas are delicious. You must get an agua Fresca and my personal favorite is the pineapple spinach.
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Real street tacos made fresh, nothing frozen, everything prepped by hand. They're all great-tasting; flame-kissed carne asada, soft squares of lengua, spiced al pastor with pineapple. They also have Asada Fries, topped in a mix of meat with everything gooey; sour cream, cheddar, and guac. Enjoy their salsa with caution - the green one is quite spicy, but both are delightful...just like everything they make.

Yelp
We had a six hour layover at Los Angeles international airport so we made a taco run to the first place that had really good reviews and I can tell you I would not recommend going here (unfortunately it was too far to go to our favorite place). Most family run taco/burrito joints in California are a hit but this place was a huge miss. The carnitas burrito was really kind of nasty as the meat was overdone and dry. My son's tacos were questionable too. I could tell from walking into Maria's Ricos Tacos that the food might not be what we wanted (the kitchen/cooking area didn't look great at all, place looked worn down) but we really didn't have a choice as we were starving and the cab had just dropped us off.

Barbette T.

Yelp
I go here for a great breakfast burrito tacos and veggie burritos the service is great
google avatar

Katrina J.

Yelp
Ordered a taco enchilada combo and the cheese wasn't even melted. When I pointed it out, I was told "oh they usually put it in the microwave." I don't care what they usually do, I didn't pay almost $14 for some shredded unmelted cheese, tortilla, and enchilada sauce‍
google avatar

Deejayee H.

Yelp
The food here is amazing the steak is so tender and all the meat has flavor. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The customer service is above stellar! They treat everyone with respect and a smile. The setting was nice with tables to eat tv and a refreshing sense of home. Come give them a try
google avatar

Adriana V.

Yelp
This place always hits the spot. The carne asada nachos are incredible. Their green salsa is HOT and delicious. I wish they served breakfast into the afternoon because it's fire but everything is.

Yelp
This is a hard pass for me. I was looking for some authentic Mexican Food and decided to try this place close to my job. I ordered 3 crunchy tacos, Jamaica and an order of fries (for my kid). The fries were awesome! They were fresh, warm, and garnished with the right amount of salt. Let's get into these tacos. There was nothing remarkable about them. The shredded chicken lacked in flavor and quality. Tolerable tacos only a person whose gone hours without proper nourishment would love. I would compare the meat quality to Jack in the Box's tacos. The Jamaica -- surely not made from scratch. Loved the fries!
google avatar

Yelp
I was craving tacos and ans this has been on my list to try. I ordered 3 asada tacos and 1 can coke. I hadn't eaten all day so I was anxious to take my first bite. Usually when you're hungry almost anything taste great. Well not these. I was extremely disappointed. The tortillas were warm but didn't taste like they cooked them in oil or anything. Just hot and bland Although the meat was a good portion and quality, it had ZERO flavor. There were like 5 peices of onions and cilantro. The red sauce seemed more like bland salsa than sauce and the green sauce was non existent. I did come a little after 9pm so maybe this was the we ready to go home version of their tacos. Based on thr reviews I was expecting way more.
google avatar

Luna S.

Yelp
I hate to say this but either the recipe or cook/s need to change. These enchiladas were the worst enchiladas I have ever had. Usually when you're hungry you say they were ok but even with my hunger I had throw them out. Waste of food, waste of money and now I'm still left hungry.
google avatar

Gayle B.

Yelp
After a drop off or pick up at LAX drive the 3.7 miles to Maria's Rico Tacos. The Best breakfast burritos!
google avatar

Nia S.

Yelp
Order some nachos from this establishment. They were delicious! I will definitely be going back for my Mexican food needs.
google avatar

Jon H ..

Yelp
This place is minimally OK... the meats could be just fresher- as in cooked to order carne asada. The place could also be cleaner... it's all about taking pride in your food, appearance and service attitude. It seems a little lacking at this place. I've had way way better tacos and nachos at non Mexican establishments.
google avatar

Leticia N.

Yelp
Food is ok, the tacos were spicy, make sure to ask for toppings on the side if you have an issue with spicy salsa. The employee were loud and laughing making the ambience awkward, it's loud and hard to hear other people speaking. Overall it's what I expected for a taco place in Los Angeles.

Debbie K.

Yelp
The food is okay. Taco meats asada and chicken are in the dry side and lack flavor and seasoning . The cashier young guy can be rude. I kindly asked if I can have some salsa and he said they don't have any but I seen them put them on my tacos I was willing to pay for extra sauce but he straight said We don't have any. I don't think I'll be coming here. You're better off going to a taco truck or ppl selling on the street.
google avatar

Chieko W.

Yelp
Came here because I was craving Mexican food and headed in that direction. ..seemed to have enough stars. I pulled up and wasn't sure it was even open. Chairs on top of tables....maybe it was close to closing? When I stepped in, I walked over a cup....a cup...and no one picked it up. Another customer walked in and stepped on the same cup...it is plastic and loud and no one picked it up. Ordered the nachos. When I opened up the container, you could tell the guacamole was old....not bad but not new, and bright green. Rolled tacos looked like they were re-fried burnt.
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
I've ordered from this place 3 different times on Uber eats and the food is real good. I travel weekly for work so whenever I'm close to LAX I order from here! Food is fire af and that's some love from someone in Miami!

David S.

Yelp
highly recommend the carne asada fries. overall best food around my area in opinion. service is good and friendly, it's nice and clean inside. i hope yall enjoy the food and drinks
google avatar

Quisha M.

Yelp
Do not order through any app you could order then immediately cancel and they will say they started cooking and it's a lie and they steal your money and get paid from the app when it was avsol no way they could have started on your food. trust me
google avatar

Artie M.

Yelp
Maria good taco Tuesday deal and tostada is a healthier option they also have breakfast
google avatar

K Z.

Yelp
really good food friendly cashier did not take a super long time! i got the carne asada taco 3.5 stars and the chicken tamale 5 stars!!!!
google avatar

Wesley T.

Yelp
Solid option for Mexican food. I ordered takeout, three rolled tacos with rice and beans and was very satisfied. The tacos came covered in lettuce and tomatoes so you can't really see them in the picture too well. But they also come topped with guacamole which was nice. Recommend giving this place a try
google avatar

Howard B.

Yelp
Tacos are okay. Place looks and feels dirty. Service was okay. Find a truck, you'll be happier.

Teresa M.

Yelp
I love the carne asada hard shell tacos sooo much! Also the refried beans & rice....excellent! Thank you so much for paying attention to food allergies. You are the only place where I can order tacos(my favorite food) without picking cheese off or throwing food away. No one has been clever enough to all special instructions.
google avatar

Karly S.

Yelp
Ordered through Uber eats . Tacos were plain . I ordered some tacos de cabeza and the were big chunks of meat . They didn't even cut it . Then I ordered two de asada . The asada tasted bad . It had a funky smell and taste . Horrible presentation. No extra sauce and they hardly poured some on them . The only thing that was decent was their pineapple water other than that the food was horrible
google avatar

Michaela C.

Yelp
This place was alright. A friend recommended this place to me when I was in Inglewood late on Friday night. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable with the amount of food that they served. I've had better Mexican food, but this place will fill a craving when needed.
