North Korea could probably make better Mexican food. The worst Mexican food I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Growing up in Southern California in cities like San Diego as well as the greater Los Angeles area, I have had some really good Mexican food. Once in a while I would even travel to Tijuana to hit up a corner taco shop or taco cart for some awesome tacos, so my bar for good Mexican food is a little high. However after finishing eating, I can honestly say EVERYTHING WAS BAD! From the salsa to the cheese to the beans and rice. I ordered a enchilada combo plate which comes with beans and rice. At first glance the rice was a weird color, almost like Indian food rice, like a dull yellow. Hands down the worst Mexican rice I have ever tasted. Then there's the beans, didn't taste like they had been cooked in a pressure cooker at all, most likely came straight out of a can. The beef enchilada's were difficult to cut with a fork, the red sauce was bland and didn't taste much like enchilada sauce. I also ordered 3 carne asada tacos. Corn tortillas were bright white, almost looked as if they were not even cooked. The asada was very tough and chewy without much flavor. Long story short, the food tasted like there was absolutely NO LOVE at all. Imagine a cook who only cooks Chinese food was suddenly ask to cook Mexican dishes, this is what the food tasted like. I've had better Mexican cuisine experiences in the frozen food section at the local grocery store, the only reason I ate the food was because I paid for it. I would give 0 stars if possible but cannot post a review unless at least 1 star is given, 33 years of loving Mexican food this was the worst experience, you've been warned.
