I can’t recall a single negative experience here, which is a rarity in the Bay Area. The food is high quality and delicious, especially the pot pies and shepherd’s pie! The chocolate satin pie for desert is always fabulous, but also the banana cream pie and lemon meringue. Service is always great and despite the inconsistency of me going here, they still remember us well! Goes to show they must be doing something right to keep their staff around! When I think of all the Marie Callender’s that have come and gone in the Bay Area and the fact that this is the sole survivor makes me sad, but I understand why. Continued excellent service and food quality have kept this place a great establishment. While prices may be in the upper range of casual dining, it is still very worthwhile to eat here.

Delicious chili & cornbread and coconut cream pie! Great service! Clean and well maintained restaurant – in great shape for 50+ year old establishment! Marie Callendar’s was a tradition in our family starting in 1970 in University City, San Diego. We frequented this location in the 1980’s. Wonderful to see these owners carrying on the tradition of high-quality entrees and delicious pies packed full of fruit. The coconut cream pie is still luscious and incredibly chewy being so full of shredded coconut.

Food was mediocre at best. We were there at 7pm and the first thing they did was look at the clock and then let us know the salad bar closes at 7:30 numerous times. My wife didn't eat her food and was given back half of the price and my Frisco burger wasn't like they used to be like. It's sad all the good old comfort food places have sold out. I will never go back.

Just landed after a 10+ hour flight from Japan, and this was my first proper meal — absolutely spot on. The waitress was lovely — super helpful and warm, made me feel right at home. They brought out a complimentary slice of cake that was massive — honestly, I could live off that thing for a week! Also, big shoutout to the lady at the counter who helped break my bills into smaller change — really kind and thoughtful. The whole place had a great vibe too — saw loads of elderly folks being looked after, with the staff constantly checking in and offering help. Absolutely love it here. Great food, kind people — what more could you ask for?

Called ahead to get their hours, they said they closed at 9 pm, then drove an hour and a half to arrive for dinner at 7:30 and there’s a sign on their door that they closed early. Night ruined, wasted gas. I don’t even know how to rate this because it’s feeling like a 1 star right now.

Went for an early dinner the other day. This is the only M. C. left in the bay area. The service was excellent and the food 3.5 stars. You get corn bread which is very good and moist. The open faced turkey sandwich is good and moist. It's roasted turkey, apple sage stuffing, giblet gravy on grilled sourdough bread. Served with mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. The Chardonnay was good and reasonably priced.

We went there for Mother’s Day. Service was great. There was a special dinner menu for mother all day long with different variations. Stake, mushed potatoes and veggies were excellent. We also took fish and pies. All dishes were delicious and big exactly like in mom’s house. We were so full and took pies home for desserts.

They have great key lime pie and some american culinary staples that are hard to find at restaurant quality anywhere else. The staff are also very pleasant. I'd eat here more often if I had the money.

The restaurant had a retro and relaxing atmosphere. As soon as we sat down, they brought out cornbread. It was warm enough to see the steam rising, and it had a subtle sweetness that made it really delicious. Roasted Turkey Dinner Overall, it felt a bit salty to me. The cranberry sauce that came with it also tasted great when paired with the cornbread. Shrimp & Chicken Carbonara It was creamy, and the shrimp were nice and plump. Personally, I preferred this dish over the turkey. We also ordered the cheesecake, but it felt a bit simple. Next time, I'd love to try one of their pies!

I'm 42 and used to go to this restaurant when I was little. It's been around that long! Back in the day, this place was packed. Always bustling with people and long lines waiting to be seated. But nowadays, the food is nothing like it used to be. And the decor probably hasn't changed since the 80s or 90s. It's rough. And typically the only people I really see eating are elderly folk. With all that being said, this is the only place to order pies. Their food may be questionable, but their pies are reliably delicious. Their pumpkin pie is infamous and their Dutch-apple is just as delectable! I'm convinced this establishment is open to this day due entirely to their pies! They do not disappoint. So while you wouldn't catch me eating a meal here, you will always find me ordering pies here. Their pies are so popular that there are literal lines waiting to pick up or purchase pies during the holidays.

Came here for just one item.... There seasonal fresh peach pie!!! It's an expensive pie but hey, I'm worth it C-; I tried to call them up at 5:30 and all I got was please hold from a live person and after 3 minutes, the phone would ring again and I got the same response three times!! so I just decided to go and take a chance that they still had some left as they sell out quickly. Fortunately, when I arrive, they had plenty of the fresh peach pies for me ;-) The service over was good and fast. No complaints.

It's been years since the last time I came here. The service was a bit slow from the start. It took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order and another 10 minutes to receive them. They did bring out cornbread as soon as we sat down. But unfortunately, it was on the dry side. I went with their mini pot pie, and it was good. Nothing special. My meal came with a Caesar salad that was bland. I ended my meal with a Kahlua pie which was okay. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Delicious food, Salad bar and pies. The wait staff is excellent and efficient with fast service. Will be coming back.

I've been coming to Marie Callender's for years. I think this is the last remaining one in the Bay Area. Great food, especially these two... Heartland Chicken Pot Pie: Loaded with tender chunks of chicken with seasonings and vegetables and topped with their famous hand-pressed flaky crust. Marie's Meatloaf: Slow -baked with 100% Angus ground beef, onions, green peppers, carrots and special seasonings, topped with mushroom cabernet gravy. Served with fresh mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. The pies are great. In season, their Fresh Strawberry is always a winner. Fresh Peach is also good. These daily pies flavors are just as good. My favorites are their... Double Cream Blueberry Pie: A sweet blend of rich vanilla cream and fresh sour cream atop juicy blueberries with a hint of apple. A delicious blend of fresh, quality ingredients and rich flavors with a smooth and creamy texture. Topped with fresh whipped cream Banana Cream Pie: An all time favorite. Rich vanilla cream and fresh ripe bananas. A delicious blend of fresh, quality ingredients and rich flavors with a smooth and creamy texture. Topped with fresh whipped cream or meringue. Cream Cheese Pie: Cream cheese filling in a graham cracker crust with a pure sour cream topping.

As one of the last Marie Callender's in the Bay Area, I'm really glad we still have at least one. Where am I going to get delicious pie when I'm in the mood? We ordered some pies online for pick-up which was extremely smooth. The pies and utensils were all ready in their refrigerator packaged in a to-go bag ready for me when I got there. I bought the following: 1.) Whole Double Cream Strawberry Pie 2.) Whole Lemon Meringue Pie (only $13.99 for the whole month of April 2025) As expected, they were DELICIOUS. Good portion sizes and everything was made perfectly. The Strawberry Pie is very soft though and is hard to cut into nice slices overall but tastes good regardless.

I came in to try one of their pies and ended with the banana cream pie. On the website, they had an option of whipped cream or meringue topping for the banana cream pie, but when I came in the only option they had was whipped cream, which was a total disappointment. They had said that they just hadn't made it for the day so I'm not sure if it was just a location specific thing or they don't even have that as an option anymore. we also signed up for the Marie E club for rewards and was disappointed to find that we couldn't use our five dollars off 20 on whole pies. I feel like they're most known for their pies so I wish I had more promotions around this. I don't believe I would ever come in here to eat their food, but maybe to try another pie flavor.

When I was a kid my family went here all the time. I remember the first time we saw a San Francisco burger. My sister ordered it. Watching her eat it was like watching a commercial. It was dripping dressing and juices and she was loving it. We all ordered it the next time we went. The pies of course are all amazing. Now a week ago I saw they deliver on Doordash. I ordered the SF burger. I asked for no pickles and extra sauce in bold type. My request was even on my receipt taped to the bag. Yet it arrived with no dressing whatsoever and extra pickles! Are the cooks trying to sink the last remaining store in the Bay Area or what? I tried it again this week and the fries were pale and limp. The burger was ok but there was no extra sauce and again with pickles. I'm not going back for the meals, only the pie and maybe cornbread. It's obvious the cook(s) have given up and really don't care. It's such a shame considering all of the fond memories I have as a kid. Oh well.

Walked in on pie day to grab a slice since I'm lucky enough to be so close! They were busy handing out the pie orders soon after they opened! My slice order was taken just as I walked in and just had to wait a little for them to be ready for me. It was so delicious! I'm planning on coming back to dine in again, even just for the pies and the staff being so kind.

My in-laws got a mailer with various pie coupons on it for Marie Calendars and got a craving for the Chocolate Satin pie. We called ahead after dinner to make sure they still had one in-stock for the day and then went to pick one up for takeout. We ordered at the counter and used our $7 coupon, which felt like a pretty good deal (the pie is normally $27.99). Also, for every pie tin you bring back clean you get 80¢ back so we brought two tins with us that wife's parents still had). Service was friendly when we ordered at the counter, they only needed a few minutes to grab the pie and box it up for us. They have two dining areas and it is quiet inside. It feels on the older side. One dining area was empty and the other maybe half full, which seemed decent for a Tuesday 40 minutes before closing. The pie itself was very very rich. Smooth chocolate taste but even with my sweet tooth having what I consider a "normal" slice was too much for me! I prefer their apple pies! We do want to come back and try some of their actual appetizers and entrees - before this I had only ever had their pies before for Thanksgiving or frozen from the super market. Note: They do not accept apple pay, make sure to have a physical card or cash.

Here is my two cents on the quality quantity and price of my meal.. It was delivered by GrubHub in a quick and timely manner... my delivery person followed directions exactly and exactly went above what he needed to do. Kudos to him.!... I ordered an open face roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes, vegetables, and a side of cornbread! I must say, I found it quite delicious .. a good gravy with minimum amount of salt. The roast beef was well done with a good mixture of fat along with the lean roast beef!... as all good foodies know FAT is where the flavor is... It was an excellent combination... I only wish they had given me more mashed potatoes with gravy than so much vegetables.. The only other thing I did not like there was not enough carrots, and too much broccoli .. Personally, I only find broccoli gwhen it's mixed in aan Asian dish .

This is always has been one of my favorites restaurants. I love the all you can eat salad and soup bar. I love the combo appetizers. Double shrimp pasta and shrimp taco. And of course, the pies ! I also love their big banana muffin. I live in San Carlos but drive there just to eat. Bc this is the only Marie callender that around the Bay Area. I'm always so pleased with the food and service that they provide. Can't wait to go back soon.

The last Marie Calenders in the area at 751 E El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087. Because of this, I decided to visit it with my wife for dinner on 2 separate occasions. Upon arrival, I saw that it looked like a typical Marie Callender's that I remembered for years. Very nicely decorated with a super soup and salad bar, and a menu that brought back memories. Now the interior does show some signs of wear, such as the upholstery on the booths and chairs. Overall, the restaurant was kept very clean. I found the service to be excellent! Everyone worked as a team while our server, PEDRO-1, provided Superior Service! Now the food was a blast from the past. Chicken Pot Pie was just like I remember it. The Clam Chowder, Vegetable Soup and salad items were outstanding! The fruit was fresh cut with a great selection. The turkey dinner was yummy and the cornbread was delicious. It is a family restaurant, has great parking, and let us not forget those wonderful pies. The reason why this restaurant is still operating is because it was not a company store. It 's obvious the owner really wants to keep it going. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night with a party of 8, we called earlier to make a reservation and were able to be seated right away. This was my first time here and I have to say it kind of reminds me of Sizzlers. The salad bar they have isn't as nice as Sizzler's though, but they do seem to have fresh ingredients for the salad options. The soups were alright, but nothing special. We ordered the appetizer combo platter and the fried green beans were outstanding. I had also gotten the Soup & Salad bar added to my Fish & Shrimp platter, but was pretty full by the time the food came out. The fish & shrimp platter was a bit disappointing because it was just 3 shrimps and 3 slabs of fish on fries. ~~Parking: It's located at the end of a strip mall, but there was plenty of parking. ~~Service: Great. Pedro was very attentive. ~~Return: I would go back if someone else wants to, but I wouldn't say I crave this kind of food.

Came in for a Sunday get together with some friends that I haven't seen in over a year and did make a reservation as we had a party of 7. Got seated right away and I would give the service 5 stars for sure! Our waiter Pedro was an absolute joy and super attentive and friendly... went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. I ordered the country fried steak and it was topped with with a sausage gravy which was tasty, the garlic mashed potatoes and veggies were also a nice touch, super filling. We also ordered some slices of pie, the banana cream was fair, but the star of the show was the chocolate satin with the Oreo crust... there is no picture because i ate it so fast LOL! I also had the salad bar which was nice to see as this brings back memories as it is a self service... the soups were fair was well, but nothing to write home about. Overall it was a nice place to come and relax with great service and decent food.

My experience was pretty much what I expected. The interior has some nice old school charm. I was surprised to find out the meal started with some complimentary corn bread. It was more cake like then corn bready. I ordered the meatloaf, which was super comforting. The gravy was the star. I also got some peach pie that was pretty good. Overall, solid for a meal of American classics.

There still around, just got to drive to Sunnyvale to get them. Still love there Cheese potato soup and Salad bar. They have a great Chicken Pot pie or a Shepherds Pie. Even better you can get a mini Version with Salad and a slice of pie. Pritty good deal. Sorry you can't upgrade to the full size pie on that deal? I hope they say around for a very long time..... -edK

I tried Marie Callender's Pair and Share deal, which includes a salad, an entree, and a slice of pie--essentially a three-course meal! This time, my fiancé and I decided to order less: two entrees and one salad, which actually cost us $15 less than the Pair and Share. Full disclosure: the seats weren't exactly pristine. When I accidentally slid the seat cushion off the booth while scooting forward, I discovered decades of dust I didn't need to see. But honestly, who cares? I'm here for the food, and it did not disappoint! Their complimentary sweet bread with butter gives me that warm, nostalgic feeling--like being at Grandma's house. The entrees might not be the healthiest, but they're a delicious time warp to 20 years ago. I love this place. Don't ever change!

The service wa close to nonexistent. And the best part is even i've left a decent 20% of tip the waiter chased me into the parking lot for more. Ridiculous. Didn't like the food but its probably a matter of taste.

Pies were delicious as always, hope they continue to stay in business as they are a family must for all birthdays!

Ordered the prime rib for the first time for Xmas dinner, and I was nervous since it was the main entree feeding over a dozen guests at my home. I followed the instructions (and used a MEATER thermometer which made things so much easier) and it came out PERFECT and delicious. Be aware that it will look like a giant lump of coal coming out of the oven, but once you cut it open you'll see how perfect the meat comes out. Every year I also get their pies for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. They're all great but my personal favorites are the rhubarb, razzleberry, and cherry. Pickup process over the holidays is always super smooth and no frustrating waits.

This review is only for their pies. They do have a sit down restaurant but have never tried it. Have tried a few pies so far and Marie Callender's never disappoints! Always fresh and yum! Pecan pie: slightly on the sweeter side but the buttery caramelized pecans on top and the perfectly baked flaky crust is chef's kiss! Kahlua cream cheese pie - super creamy and mocha flavored cream cheese deliciousness and the chocolaty crust!

Marie Callender's is one of the most nostalgic places ever. I remember coming here with my family as a kid so I decided to give it another try as an adult. Everything about this place is so comforting and makes you feel like you are at home. The service is amazing and the workers treat you like you are dining at home. We came during lunch hours so not busy at all. I remember this place having an unlimited salad bar so was excited that they still had this here. For about $9 you get unlimited soup and salad which is such an amazing deal considering all of the toppings they had. For starters, you get a free cornbread with warm butter which was amazing. It had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. For our entree we decided to go with the chicken pot pie which is hands down the best pot pie I've ever had and was just as good as I remembered. It was so flavorful and the breading was perfectly cooked into the bowl. This place just gives you warm and welcoming vibes with a sense of relaxation and comfort. I will definitely be returning when I'm feeling the need for comfort food. I also really loved how they kept the decor the same which gave it a nice homey feel. The banana creme pie is also a must try! I'm so glad this place is still around and will be returning soon!

This is a very delayed review from Christmas. I love that they allow last minute preorders for people like me. I called in the order 2 days in advance for Christmas Eve pick up. When we arrived, there was a separate door and set of staff helping with pick ups. Everything was so quick and organized. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. We got banana cream pie and it was good! Definitely coming back here for holidays when we don't want to cook!

I usually order pies during the holidays! My favorite flavors are french apple and key lime. I have tried many of their pies and they are excellent. I actually have to drive for around 40 minutes to get here, but it's worth it due to the price and quality. I usually pick them up 2 days prior to Christmas or Thanksgiving to avoid the crowds. I also pay and order online since they are extremely popular and tend to sell out.

I'm so glad this place is still around. It's probably one of the last remaining Marie Callendars in the South Bay and by the look of the clientele (just about everyone I saw in here looked like they were born in the 60s or 70s) it's not going to be around much longer so come check it out before it is too late. The highlights were the cornbread and the pie. Banana Cream and Dutch Apple are incredible, but you really can't go wrong with any pie here, and they've got an extensive variety. Inside, you're transported to the 80s, lacquer everywhere, and booths that are so old they're falling apart. The food was high quality, but count your calories at your own peril. I'll definitely be back, I just hope it's still here.

Thanksgiving PIES!!!! Chocolate Cream Banana Cream. Actually the Double Cream Blueberry OR Lemon The whole menu can't be beat. One of the few remaining in this chain and they're 3 miles from me. I feel very fortunate. If you decide to do dinner here I strongly suggest the chicken pot pie... If that's your kind of thing. The Pot Roast. The salads. The CORNBREAD and chili? Are you kidding me? Just do it!!!!

Marie Callender's serves up American comfort food and all the dessert pies and cheesecakes. This location in particular is locally owned. What better way to start New Year's Day than grub on some nostalgic comfort food?! My party of 2 arrived for lunch around 12:30 and quickly seated; choice of table or booth. Always a booth. Pedro, our waiter was attentive and checked on us often. FOOD *Cornbread: this is complimentary so chow down on some cornbread. It was light and soft. Paired well with the whipped honey butter. Mmmm! *Mini Chicken Pot Pie Combo: served with a Caesar salad to start and a pie to end the meal. The chicken pot pie was delicious. Crispy, buttery, and flakey crust. The pie filling was the right amount of vegetables and chicken. Yum! *Mini Shepherds Pie Combo: served with a Caesar salad to start and a pie to end the meal. The shepherds pie was tasty. Filling and potato portions are right on. The cheese on top was baked to perfection; crispy. *Satin Chocolate Pie: this was perfect. The chocolate filling was super airy and light yet decadent. The cookie crumble crust was everything. *Kahlua Cream Cheese Pie: I ordered this and it was okay. The least favorite part of my meal. I was expecting more of a coffee mocha flavor. It was just lacking flavor. Overall experience was great. The food was delicious. And you can't beat outstanding customer service. Solid 5 based on the food and service. My SO and I are looking forward to trying more items on the menu.

Great service and food that taste like a great home cooked meal should. I like the flooring here. It kinda feels like a fun house when I am walking . I had the spaghetti. It was really good and flavorful. This place really believes in bread . I had some awesome corn bread. Well i thought it was awesome at least and also some great bread that came with my spaghetti.

Got the chicken pot pie which other reviews have said is one of their better items, and while it's good its not really good enough to justify going out and burning calories for. Their double cream blueberry pie on the other hand though. That is one of the better pies I've eaten. Its very sweet, creamy, rich, and it is just a good pie. And I don't even care for pies in general. Although, you should probably stick to one slice since its like injecting sugar straight into your bloodstream. But yah its really good.

I came here for the first time since I don't eat at American-style diners too much. My boyfriend ordered the country fried steak, and I got the honey ginger salmon. The salmon was pretty good, though the sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. For both the salmon and steak, the vegetables seemed sad - like they were some bagged vegetables that were steamed for too long. The mashed potatoes and the country fried steak with the gravy was great. We also got a slice of German chocolate pie and pecan pie, which we had the highest expectations for. The German chocolate pie was decent, though the filling was softer and more pudding-like that I'd like. The pecan pie was pretty good, though not the best I've had. Overall decent American food, and the service was great.

On the way home from a day trip and we got a sweet tooth. Not many places around these days that offer slices of pie and we thought of Marie Callender's, their pies have always been good. The pie itself wasn't the issue, the size of the slice is. It was like we got the kiddie portion, extremely disappointing. Two drinks and two sodas for $28, very high considering the baby slices. Two stars for two tiny slices of pie.

Such a shame... starting to get real lousy. Not only is this disgusting, but it is unsafe. Ordered a piece of German chocolate pie and apple pie for my father's birthday. The German chocolate pie had NO (mini) chocolate chips inside of the pie and I cannot even say there were coconut flakes because there were basically whole pieces of coconut in it. The apple pie... literally raw! I am not even exaggerating that it was raw, not even undercooked but fully raw. Way to ruin a birthday while risking someone's health at the same time. Do better please, especially to loyal customers.

I haven't been here in a long time and decided to stop by. The service was quick and friendly. The complimentary corn bread was hot and fresh. We got the artichoke mushroom chicken and it was super flavorful and had an amazing texture. The atmosphere is very nice and it's not too loud inside. Very impressed and will definitely return soon!!

We were there Tuesday 1/7/25 around 3pm. Yes. Senior Supper time, lol. I had the French Dip wth coleslaw and my friend had fries with a burger that looked absolutely fabulous! I was so focused on my delectable French dip and tasty au ju ( that was not too salty, surprisingly, just perfect), that I forgot the name of his burger. We were so hungry after watching Nosferatu on empty stomachs, that we forgot to take pics. So y'all just have to trust me, the food was delectable! Our waitress was very accommodating considering I have food allergies, and I had to ask what everything had in it. We will definitely be back. I'm getting the burger this time, for sure!

* This review is for the pies only! * The only time I have ever picked up a pie was during Thanksgiving and Pi Day which falls on Pop's birthday. Both holiday's end up having a huge line that goes out the door but the staff is well prepared in how they check out their customers. I've ordered: + Chocolate Cream Pie + Banana Cream Pie + Pumpkin Pie The cream pies are my favorite thus far in comparison to the Pumpkin Pie which I surprisingly did not like. (I prefer Costco's pumpkin pie instead). The infamous Banana Cream Pie is a favorite in our house and the Chocolate Cream tasted like a chocolate pudding cup on a pie crust.

...I am glad we still have a Marie Callender's left! I've been enjoying their chile and cornbread since they first opened in the Bay Area. The recipe for the chile has changed, but it is still quite good. I detected a slight taste of vinegar which I do not remember experiencing in the past. I wonder why they changed the recipe. Portions are ample of both the chile and cornbread. The lemon meringue pie remains delicious as ever. The restaurant is clean and neat and nicely appointed. Parking is easy in the restaurant lot.

I received a Christmas gift certificate for Marie Callender's. I have been going there weekly for a pie and a take out food order. The pies are great, but they cost around $24. That is almost twice what they cost at the Safeway store in the same strip mall. Marie's pies are better, but I don't know if they $10/pie better. The food was OK. The cashier and the person helping her were very friendly. The take out food was packed with care. The place just looks old. There was duct tape on the bench in the lobby. Most of the customers appear to be seniors. When I use up the gift certificate, I don't think I will come back

We recently had lunch and soooo yummy ! I always get the Frisco Burger and can't leave without bringing home a coconut crème pie. The last of the local Marie Callender's , please don't ever close !!!

It's day! So I went on a mission for some no sugar added apple pie. With Coco's and Marie Callender's closing during the pandemic, luckily this Marie Callender's in Sunnyvale is still around! It was such a smooth experience. Walking up, they had a board out front with the available pies. I asked the gentleman at the counter for a NSA Apple Pie, paid, and was on my way. At home , we waited until 3:14pm to dig in. The crust was very flaky and the filling was on point. All tasted very fresh. Wish there were more excuses to eat pie I really hope this Marie Callender's survives through the pandemic

The rudest and most useless employees here. Have had many bad interactions with them, this is just the latest one. Called a few hours before closing to see what pies they had left and got the rudest response ever. "Why would you ask that? We have all the pies." How would I know that unless I called? Also, no idea what "all the pies" are. Instantly lost the desire for pie.

By far the worse $20 spent on food. I decided to give this place a shot despite the poor ratings. Unfortunately, a 3 or 2 rating is justified. I got the mini pot pie meal which comes with cornbread (dry and stale, salad(ok), and pie(chocolate cream pie tasted old ). Pot pie was decent but I probably could have gotten the same quality in the freezer section. Not worth it.

Came here for a late 2pm lunch to try out their dine-for-2 special and having craving for some pie. The place is fairly old school and resemble 90s casual dining with lots of dark wood accents. We had the beef stroganoff and pot roast. Both taste good but was a bit too salty for our pallets. The pie (apple and peach) was good and wasn't overly sweet. Service was decent. I would like to visit again to keep the local business running.

*****Customer Experience During the COVID-19 Pandemic***** Marie Callender's pies were a fixture of many gatherings with friends and family when I was growing up. But since filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2019, many of their locations closed, including the one in my town. Since then, their pies became a fond memory for me and I thought I would never taste them again. That changed on 05/15/2021. After shopping at The K Market with my family that day, I spotted their familiar signage on our way out of the parking lot. We all got excited and decided to pick one up. We entered the restaurant at around 4:45 pm. Social distancing was enforced and the staff all had masks on. Bottles of hand sanitizer were available for customer use. There were a few people in front of us but the line moved fast. We got a coconut cream pie (~$18). The staffers we encountered were friendly. The quality of the pie was good. The pie crust was flaky and the custard was creamy with a good amount of shredded coconut in it. To my delight, they put a lot of whipped cream on top. It was very enjoyable and sure brought back a lot of good memories for us. I'm very glad to have rediscovered this familiar taste. Will definitely return! Fun for a bite of history... It's also the last Marie Callendar's open in the Bay Area! Less fun, the food and pies Classic pot pies: better than their frozen counterparts that the Marie Callender's brand is known for. We got the combo that comes with salad and a slice of pie. Country fried steak: Nothing to write home to mama about. The gravy was bland, needed more love! The steak itself was crispy, mashed potatoes were pretty good, veggies were veggies...overall, it gave school lunch vibes! Hearty vegetable soup: 12.99 for 90 Cals (as written on the menu)...not sure if you'd call this hearty. If you want to try the soup, get it as a side since I think the full serving isn't worth the price. Cream cheese pie (different item than their cheesecake): Way too sweet and the filling consistency could've been better. Touch of lemon flavor. Rhubarb pie: Eating this after the cream cheese one, it brought a nice tartness. However, nothing special on its own.

I am shocked there is a Marie Calendars left. But sad the prices they have. I wanted a slice of chocolate satin pie, but its $8 for a slice, yikes. I can buy a whole pie at the grocery store for $5, but it's not the same. My mom got a ginormous muffin I think it was $8. I got the pot roast and it was yummy. My mom got the Chicken Alfredo.
