Where to Eat in Sequim and Port Angeles, Washington | Eater Seattle

"The ever-changing menu board outside this waterfront diner features scrambles and other breakfast items — but whatever you order, you’ll want a freshly baked blueberry muffin on the side. Miraculously, a breakfast here, including coffee, is still just $10. Use the money you save to grab an empanada for the road." - Matthew Lombardi

Great early morning breakfast before heading out to the water. In the bustling marina, so not quiet. But for someone (like us) who aren’t local, it was great to watch and take it in. Service was perfect. The lady who owns the restaurant is terrific and was as nice as could be. Solid cup of joe. I had the sausage scramble and my wife had the bacon scramble. Served with a fresh (they make all muffins in house) blueberry muffin and some fruit. Not too much food, not too little. Just right and perfectly fresh. Will be back for sure. Wonderful spot.

Wonderful, friendly service. We each had a different scramble and all three were excellent. Fun to watch the activity at the marina while you eat!

We were in the Port Townsend Brewery and I asked for suggestions on where to take my husband for his birthday that night. Two people recommended Marina Cafe. They did not steer us wrong! Very cute, cozy spot for exceptional small plates and very friendly service. Obviously this isn’t a secret as the place was packed by 6:30. We had five amazing and very affordable plates and could hardly walk home, we were so stuffed. Can’t wait to come back.

This place is the best! It is exactly what you need when you step off your boat, out of your car, off your bike, or from your walk when looking for good food, a cozy welcome, and a place to be yourself in the community of others. The food is excellent, the atmosphere homey, the locals are authentically local, it's all the right things. What makes this place truly magical in my mind though, is the two lovely humans that cook, serve, and pour their hearts into every customer and the community. It is the home kitchen for the Marina, the community, PT, and most importantly for you! There is a warm seat waiting for you and your people.

Such a treat to stop by here. Very fresh and delicious food, I personally got the Chorizo Scramble. Atmosphere and vibe was at an all time high. Jennifer is an outstanding Owner/Server, very kind and outgoing. All smiles and full stomach. Easily bringing my family here the next time we’re in town.

Google
Delightful place for a solo breakfast while visiting town. Clearly a local spot but very welcoming to others. Delicious veggie scramble that was the perfect size and came with a top notch muffin. Free tea in a "help yourself" layout.

We LOVE Marina Cafe! They have lunch everyday that comes with a salad, chips, cookie and soda and whatever hot sandwich/wrap is made for the day. On Thursday through Saturday evenings, they now have tapas, beer, cider and wine and it is the best thing that has happened in Port Townsend! Jen and Sean are the best people and their food is just as good. We love coming here for lunch and evening tapas every week. We’re moving out of Port Townsend and Marina Cafe is going to be one of the 3 places we will truly miss!

Yelp
STUMBLED upon this little place and decided to stop in. OMG, what a little gem this is. Fresh, delicious, amazing bits and bites. We tried 6 different plates and shared. My favorite the Coconut Shrimp, but nothing disappointed! Just a little hole in the wall by the marina, but we'll definitely be returning to taste the rest of the menu!! Sweet find!!!

Yelp
Just ate at this wonderful little gem in Port Townsend! We thought we knew all the restaurants here, but found this one and will definitely return! Very eclectic in decor, but Jen, the owner, is extremely personable, converses with everyone, and cooks at the same time! Definitely worth a visit! Menu changes daily, the muffins are TO DIE FOR, the bacon scramble and sausage scramble were absolutely wonderful and the coffee is on point! Definitely a locals place. You bus your own tables, and grab more coffee if you wish! Thanks Jen! We'll be back!!

Yelp
I'm a crazy foodie....the best food I've had in years. What a hidden gem! Will make this is our stop the next time we're in Port Townsend!

Yelp
This place serves delicious tapas on Friday and Saturday evenings. Their lunches have always been good but the dinners are really good, too. And, they have beer and wine.

Yelp

Yelp
Cool was gone. We picked a cool thing but when she heated it up it's wasn't ready. Super sad.heard they have the best cinnamon rolls but waitress said not doing them anymore boo

Yelp
Very nice lady working there! Didn't get a chance to try the blueberry muffins but they smelt incredible! Very decent cup of coffee. Worth a try if you are in the marina!

Yelp
Love this place and love, love, love it that they have opened in the evenings for tapas. How wonderful to be able to sit and look out over the marina while enjoying their fairly perfect kale, Caesar (and I am particularly particular about my ceasars) and roasted brussels sprouts. Wine, beer, and wonderful sangria while I've always known and like the place for breakfast and lunch. This is a wonderful addition to their offering, and to all of us who love the boat basin area, but look for some food with our Friday night beers. They just need to update their listing and phone number but believe me they are open at least Friday evenings starting at five. I love me a down home. Local joint with good food and friendly people. #MadeWithLove

Yelp
Augh, once again missed the open hours and stopped by. However, this time they were there and took pity on me and my husband. When she (owner?) said they were closed she gave us each a pack of cookies (I offered to buy them, she refused) as we headed back out. We walked out to the marina, sat and absolutely devoured all 3 cookies (each). My husband kept saying I don't like chocolate, but I love these, man these are so good. And when all 3 were gone..., "we are coming back just for these cookies"! Fine by me! Thank you!! Can't wait to catch you when you are open (before 1 pm M-F)!

Yelp
We enjoyed some amazing Blueberry muffins from this Cafe! The owner is very friendly and patient. We can't wait to try the full menu once the Cafe is fully reopened. Definitely recommend stopping by for a delicious muffin!

Yelp
The Marina Cafe should be on the "to do" list of everyone who visits Port Townsend. I ate there twice. Each day right before lunch I was at a different shop along the waterfront there, and when I told the guy I was talking to that I planned to hit the Marina Cafe for a bite, they both had the same response: "Jen...she's awesome." And she really is. Lunch costs a mere eight bucks (as of this writing) and includes a sandwich, salad, drink, chips, two napkins, and a fork. And a cookie. Holy smokes those cookies are good! Everything is fresh -- she bakes her own bread, even -- and healthy and delish, and when you talk to Jen and see how kind she is to everyone, you feel like maybe there really are saints among us. You think I'm using hyperbole, but grab a meal (breakfast or lunch) at the Marina Cafe, and you'll see that I'm not.

Yelp
I read the reviews about the blueberry muffin. I realized I needed this muffin experience. After ordering, the lovely at the window offered me an exchange if I didn't like it. I thought, wow, that's good service. However, upon my first bite, as the perfectly crisp outside conjoined with the moist, fluffy inside, I realized, this combination of muffin, blueberry, and magic, was, hands down, the best blueberry muffin of my life.

Yelp
Been here a couple times so far. First time, I had the blackberry muffin (last batch of the season); and the most recent time, I had the blueberry muffin. Both delicious! Nice a fluffy with a bit of a crispy edge. Nice homemade muffins. Really neat place to stop in. Will have to explore the other items they have there in the future.

Yelp
I found the restaurant by accident and thought it was the Blue Moose. Jennifer, the owner, said she only has one egg dish, and if I wanted more choices I should go the the Blue Moose. I ordered her 1 dish which included lots of fresh vegetables and a home made blue berry muffin. The egg scramble was delicious and the muffin, her speciality, was even better. Since our first visit my wife and I have been back for muffins, lunch specials and more muffins. She is an outstanding baker and her friendly personality is special. This so far is our favorite place to eat in Port Townsend and the conversation with Jennifer is always fun.

Yelp
We always make it a point to visit the Marina Cafe when in Port Townsend. Located in a working boat yard, customers range from tourists and guest boaters to the many tradespeople working on boats. They all come for the same thing: a friendly, welcoming waterfront cafe with the BEST muffins and scones on the Olympic Peninsula! Plus daily fresh items, hot sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. It's just a friendly, unassuming, comfortable place that brings us back time after time.

Yelp
The best kept secret in Port Townsend is the Marina Cafe!!! or maybe better described as a galley. If you like egg dishes with fresh veggies right out of the garden, home baked scones, cookies and muffins to die for, hot sandwiches and hearty soup this is the place. No conventional menu except what ever is in Jen's oven or fresh from the garden. The muffins and scones are gushing with fresh fruit and other goodies. Good conversation, hot coffee and a lot of fun. Ask Jen about the animals, or should I say her Pets on here farm. This is where I take my close friends from out of town, that want a real taste of the maritime world. Love it!!

Yelp
Amazing veggie grinder style sandwich! Came with a large cookie and soda. This is a funky place, but the best kind where the owner knew the names of every person that came through the door. The pastries/muffins looked amazing as well! Great place if you want to feel like a local, eat home made hearty food and be on the docks.

Yelp
Cannot say enough good about this place! Such bubbly-good service. The muffin with zucchini and carrot sounded a tad "vegetably" but it was wonderfully flavorful and moist. The berries scone was also delicious, and had a great scone texture. The berries made it less dry than scones can sometimes be. We look forward to trying more items soon!

Yelp
Very friendly place. Great sandwiches and ice tea

Yelp
For over 7 decades I have been looking for the perfect blueberry muffin. Well, I finally found it! While visiting Port Townsend, WA, a friend took me to the Marina Cafe. It's a very small, yet comfortable cafe on the waterfront...marina area where much of the harbor boat work is done. Anyway, the muffin I bought was actually multiple berries, not just blueberries. For about $3, I just couldn't believe it. There were maybe more berries than muffin cake holding it all together! And, oh, the taste! If you're a muffin lover and visiting Port Townsend, this is a must stop.

Yelp
My wife and I heard about Jenny and her Marina Cafe from a mutual friend and customer. When we met Jenny, an attractive, lively and warm person, she greeted us like long absent family. Her breakfast was a vegetable scramble from her garden and freshly baked muffins. The scramble was fit for the gods. My wife fell in love with the muffins. Before we left Port Townsend for our home in SoCal, we had become part of her extended family of customer/friends. It was a wonderful experience. And if you just want good food, I recommend it.

Yelp
If you want real baked goods, savory scones, coffee cake baked with local blackberries, giant muffins. Come to Marina Cafe.

Yelp
I love Marina Cafe! I come here whenever I am in Port Townsend, and it is delicious. I love the muffins, scones and cookies (basically all of the sweet treats), and the salami sandwich is especially good. Though, the hum-bao is the best. I love how people all know each other's names. I definitely recommend the cafe!

Mark B.

Yelp
When you look for an original with a personality this is the place. Jenny is the head of this homey little slice of heaven. Her baked goods are to die for because they all made from ingredients, out of her or other local gardens, with lots of love. Muffins and scones that are not too sweet and chocked full of flavorful organic berries, fruit and other goodies. We had the morning vegetable omelet. I've tried vegie omelets at other places and have always been disappointed but Jenny's was fantastic!! You could taste each vegetable while enjoying the flavor harmony of the combination. The Marina Café reminds me of stopping in at your favorite next door neighbor's house for great eats and conversation while she cooks up something on the spot that you just have to hang around for to sample. I give this high grades because of great food and a friendly personally that is hard to find today.
