What a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary! Mikaela & Wes took excellent care of us. The wines were exquisite and were some of our favorites on this trip. The beautiful decor and the delicious snacks from Little Saint just elevated our experience at Marine Layer. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town :)

We had such a great experience at Marine Layer tasting! We had an elderly person in our party and the staff made every effort to ensure our comfort. We were not rushed and savored the delicious wines and exceptionally tasty snacks while immersed in the calm yet elevated decor. We cannot wait to return and highly recommend it!

Hands down my favorite winery. The tasting room is beautiful, with the perfect amount of class and comfort. The staff members are so friendly and accommodating that every time you walk in you feel like you are visiting friends. Last but certainly not least...the wines. AMAZING. Since I've been a member there is not one wine I haven't loved. And this includes whites. I have always been solely a reds girl until I tasted their whites. Crisp, clean, with such fresh flavors. Perfect for these warm summer days. Highly recommend planning a visit. It.will soon be your favorite winery too! *if you need additional proof of how much I love this winery, I just put my house on the market and used their wine in staging😊

This has to be the most pleasant surprise I’ve experienced all year. Mikaela guided us through our tasting (she was fantastic and so knowledgeable). I’ve never had a tasting where I bought every bottle. This spot changed that!!! I’m drinking their Picpoul from Sonoma County as I write this review. Marine Layer consistently delivers crisp, light and refreshing wines. Oh and get their carrot tahini. It’s ambrosia.

Love the wines and the beautiful tasting room! Mikaela was a wonderful host and really enhanced our tasting experience. She let us customize our tasting and brought us the most yummy snacks (the carrot tahini dip was to die for!) We will definitely be back!

I was originally thinking of coming here because the name appealed to my inner-nerd, but it became a foregone conclusion after the staff at two other tasting rooms strongly recommended Marine Layer. Located right on the main square in Healdsburg, it’s a relatively small, but stylish tasting room that serves wines made from grapes sourced from vineyards around the Sonoma Coast. When I visited (walk-in, no reservation, sat at the bar), they were offering two tastings. Seasonal Selections for $30 2023 Las Brisas Vineyard Vermentino 2023 Carina Rosé 2021 Aries Chardonnay 2021 Lyra Pinot Noir Single Vineyard Exploration $40 2021 Hawk Hill Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 Whistler Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 Moon Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon I went with the Single Vineyard tasting - you get an extra pour and higher quality wines for only $10 more...seemed like a no brainer to me. As for the wines, the two Gap’s Crown wines from the Petaluma Gap were so great, I almost felt bad for the other wines even though they were very good too. I love Sonoma Coast wines for their lovely balance of fruit, minerality, and acidity, but the GC wines were really over the top. It’s a shame that they don’t pair the wines with food because I think Sonoma Coast wines are at their best when part of a meal... The two guys that were working at the tasting room were awesome too (guy 1 = dude with a twin brother who works at Reeve and guy 2 = dude originally from Sandy Springs, GA). Sorry, I am awful with names, so that's the best I can do... They were friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, enthusiastic about what makes Marine Layer wines special. I was very happy and grateful that I stopped by for a tasting before my dinner at Valette.

Marine Layer is such a wonderful tasting room in Healdsburg! It's not only a beautiful space, but from the moment you walk in, it's inviting, beautiful, and the sommeliers are all so friendly and knowledgable. Their wine is easily one of my favorites -- it's not to miss on a trip to Healdsburg!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time wine tasting here. The tasting room itself is warm and cozy, like you are wine tasting in your own living room! The service was phenomenal. We received the perfect amount of attention and explanation of the wines we were sampling. We definitely went home with some wine to enjoy with our friends!

Yelp
Nice tasting room located on the square in Healdsburg. Employees are very nice, outgoing and knowledgeable about the wine. The wine is good, with the Chardonnay as the standout for us. Tastings are $30 for 4 of their wines and $40 for 5 of their single vineyard wines. We opted to taste all wines and therefore did both tastings between the two of us. Our wine educator also poured us a splash of their cool climate Syrah and a splash of their Sparkling wine. My reason for not awarding 5 stars is their policy for not comping tastings with the purchase of wine. For those that have no problem with that, it might be a five star winery. Since I have visited literally 100's of wineries and would say only about 2% have implemented a policy like this it warrants a reduction of at least 1 star. It was our anniversary, we made a memory and that concludes my review.

Yelp
We made a reservation and had an excellent tasting! We really loved their Chardonnays. All three we had were excellent. They're all great examples of Sonoma coastal style Chardonnay. Neither my wife, nor I are vegetarians, however, we had the Mezze platter provided by Little Saint. It was outstanding! (they usually need a 24 hour advance notice if you're going to order it.)

Yelp
Blown away by the level of attentiveness and knowledge of Trevor, who walked us through each wine in the tasting. We were planning on coming here based on the ambiance and basically everyone at singlethread recommended we come here as well. Couldn't have been more impressed. Really enjoyed the gaps crown Chardonnay.

Yelp
Marine Layer is located in the heart of downtown Healdsburg, right on the square. The aesthetic in the tasting room is absolutely stunning! Marine Layer makes cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from vineyards along the California coast. They offer tastings for $35, which includes five wines. In addition to offering flights, they offer wines by the glass and bottle. I loved the Lyra Pinot Noir! They also have a mezze plate available from Little Saints. Michael was the staff person who helped my friend and I. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and passionate about what they are doing at Marine Layer! Reservations are not required at Marine Layer, but they do get busy so I recommended making one if you can! I can't wait to come back here again soon!

Yelp
One of my absolute favorites in Healdsburg. Conveniently located on the main square. Some of my favorite Chardonnay & Pinot Noirs. Also love their Sparkling. With one of the most aesthicically pleasing tasting rooms, the bar is great to pop in for a tasting, and cozy couches in the winter. The spot by the fire place in the winter is 10:10! Great service. Love it all!

Yelp
Marine Layer is a new tasting room on the Healdsburg Plaza. Wow! The setting is stunning! They transformed the previously dark space into one that's light, coastal-feeling, and inviting. I love all the textures! Went when they opened in the fall for an indoor tasting and food pairing and loved both! The Wine: the Marine Layer flight is five limited production cool climate wines (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the rugged Sonoma Coast) - $35pp The Food: a mezze plate from nearby/soon-to-open Little Saint (in the former Shed space). The plate features seasonal ingredients from Little Saint farms in Healdsburg. Delicious! - $15pp We've since been back to enjoy wines by the glass (or bottle) at the bar. Our favorite, the Lyra Pinot, is on the by-the-glass menu. I think tasting flights finish around 5:00pm but the bar remains open until around 6:30pm, so this is a great spot for a pre-dinner drink in town. Highly recommend that you stop here for the delicious wines! And when you do, don't miss a visit to their beautiful bathrooms! The green tiles are dreamy!

Yelp
Love the aesthetics, love the wine. I only wish they had a 12 bottle/year wine club option (because I would love to join)! Have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. I'm a huge fan of Sonoma Coast pinots, and Marine Layer definitely delivers! Made a reservation for 2 tastings (plus a Little Saint food plate) on Tock for President's Day weekend. The price is fairly steep for the area ($35 per tasting and no waiver for bottle purchase), but their wines are legit worth it if you're wanting to try a little of everything. Their Chardonnay is the embodiment of a "typical CA Chardonnay." Not my go-to for whites, but if you like buttery and oaky chards, it's a solid option. Their cold climate pinots (cultivated by their namesake marine layer) are absolutely scrumptious. Ended up purchasing a bottle of their 2019 Lyra and Walala Pinots. The Little Saint food platter was a fun, non-traditional spin on typical charcuterie spreads. It was entirely vegan and featured za'atar dusted chips, hummus, and pickled and fresh vegetables to dip. The flavors were "good," but I would am curious to try their pinots with a nice pulled pork or mushroom-infused goat cheese to see how it brings out the earth-notes in the wine. All in all, would definitely return for a glass of wine in their beautiful tasting space, but do not need to repeat the full tasting. Let me know if you decide to create a 12 bottle/year wine club option ;) Cheers!

Yelp
I love the vibe at this tasting room. Our fav is the 2019 Grand Vent Pinor Noir. I will come back!

Yelp
This place is amazing! I've never considered myself to be a wine person, I'll have a glass or so here and there but never found one that I truly found to be a favorite, then came Marine Layer. This place is not only stunning inside, the decor is really 10/10 in my book, but the wines they offer are also 10/10. I had stopped here with few friends and did the tasting and I have to say that all of the wines were great. The atmosphere really just allows you to relax and enjoy the wine and just life itself. The servers here were also super friendly. The two times we went we were treated with such great service. Super informative on the wine and also just very friendly in general. The wine tasting also came with a little snack of lentil crackers and a dip. And those were delicious. This has become a place that I will frequent when in the area and a must go to people I have visiting.

Yelp
This place is great! We got seated right on time and Trevor was a fantastic host! I recommend ordering the mezze plate ahead via Tock. The ambiance is so chic yet mellow. Trevor was down to earth and we learned so much about wine from him. Will definitely be back in the future!

Yelp
Fantastic wines, beautiful tasting room and excellence service. We had so much fun, lots of laughs and it was probably the most surprising winery of a three day trip. We hadn't heard much about Marine Layer but it was a suggestion that was well worth the stop. Tasted two Pinots and a Cab, loved the Gap's Crown but all were delicious. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
Wow!!! Highly recommend! Walked in with a friend, greeted upon arrival by the staff, sat down for a flight. Great wine, pita and hummus, and not to mention the scenery and place. Bought 2 bottles- both Pinots.

Yelp
I love everyone here so much that I became a member! The wines are good too. Two Chardonnay's and some pinots . Yummmm

Yelp
Located right next to Downtown Bakery & Creamery off Healdsburg Square, we visited in late November and this was a great find featuring balanced Chardonnay & Pinot Noir as well as Syrah from the Brosseau Vineyard in Monterey. We also opted for the seasonal mezze plate from Little Saint which were great munchies. The only downside is their wines aren't shipped to the 50th :( but we'll be back on our next trip to Healdsburg...

Yelp
New favorite place to taste wines - not pretentious, super friendly and knowledgeable sommeliers and able to accommodate our large party including two kids. Also got a taste of some food from Single Thread chef who is opening the new concept soon. Completely plant based but amazing, not to mention the delicious wine! Looking forward to coming back next time.

Yelp
Was recommended by the staff at journeyman meat co (amazing charcuterie). We dropped in without a reservation and the staff was able to accommodate us. The space was great, Tyler our host was awesome, and the Pinot was excellent. Left with cases of wine and a membership, will be back.

Yelp
Incredibly friendly to a group of us that had definitely our fair share of tastings before hand. Thank you for putting up with us and providing a very informative tasting in a cozy space!

Yelp
Michael was an amazing host. He was so knowledgeable and was an overall amazing time! My new favorite is the Aries Chardonnay.

Joe H.

Yelp
Had an hour before our reservation was ready in town so popped in and glad we did. Michael was our guide for an hour and we enjoyed every bit of it. Lots of laughs, nice tasting and left feeling good. Thanks.

Yelp
Had a great time during our visit a couple of months ago. Great wine, excellent service & beautiful atmosphere. The apps were also amazing. We bought a few bottles of the Chardonnay & have already gone through them! Will def be back.
