Yelp
Beautiful low key outdoor space (non-event day)!! A local gem. View of the marine area with boats zipping by, wakeboarders, water ski, and more. It's crazy there's free parking near such a gem, and barely anyone chilling there on a Saturday in May. Decent and sparse amount of strollers, joggers, individual dog walkers, bikers. Great place for alone time, and continued path north to south of it for biking, jogging, strolling.
Noise, Patrol:
Its surrounded by a quiet neighborhood. On a Saturday, the police patrols both grass and sand sides. Even with larger groups, I don't hear music being played. Some of the homeowners seem to stare us down? Felt a bit intimated and insecure to picnic there until we saw others picnic too. Patrol car would slowly drive by watching but didn't get out of the car to physically check anything with us or the bigger groups. I would not recommend the stadium area for large rowdy groups, and kids? (Would suggest the park, lagoon or mother's beach instead).
Grass area: Dogs allowed? Saw variety of dogs come play at this grass area or chill. There is a stroll path which we've seen strollers, joggers to bikers using. No public restrooms or shade. Plenty of parking. Need to drive pass the boating storage area to find this area. No one around.
Sand area: Across from grass area. We saw ppl dock their small boats near it, with wakeboard equipment on the sands, and hanging out on the sands with canopies. There are more than 1 public restroom area with outdoor drinking water fountain and outdoor shower. No shaded area on the sand but maybe only 1-2 areas with large trees on the grass near restrooms. Free and plenty of parking. The end parking lot is huge for unloading boats, etc. We saw someone practicing their roller skate dance there. Tiny private beach area at the end under the bridge. There was total maybe 2 decent size grounds under canopies, and maybe 2-3 couples to small families laying out in this area when we visited? The street is a great party for strolling, and biking.
Sign says
- NO dogs (even though I saw 1 in the sand and 2 on the stroll/street path)
- NO alcohol (didn't see patrol stop to to check the larger group's cups or wall by them),
- NO swimming. I wouldn't even recommend playing with the water as it looks not so clean.
- No campfire, No BBQ.
- Hours: 8am to 1 hour after sunset.
This Marina Stadium looks like a U shape around the water. Connected at the end with
- Marina Vista Park. There very limited picnic tables (3?) at the park with no shade, tennis court, playground, etc.
- The park extended to the Lagoon area with a lifeguard (kids playing in water). Less parking around this park and lagoon area. There are metro bikes by the lagoon.
- Mother's beach is near the open water area. It's crowded with families and kids too. I feel like that's where dragon boating practice started at? It's been awhile since my limited 1 year dragon boating experience.
