The Best Places to Eat and Shop Local in San Juan, Puerto Rico - AFAR

"Run by a chef who helped feed Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria, this Condado-area spot is within easy walking distance of many hotels and is well suited to groups; the shared appetizer platter includes miniature octopus tacos, ahi tuna tartare, and rabbit pastelillos. Signature dishes include black sea bass with yuca truffle purée, while locally caught yellowtail snapper is prepared with a traditional Puerto Rican tomato sauce." - Lyndsey Matthews

We had high expectations, though the menu sounds delicious everything we had was quite bland. The soup and appetizers were cold, the chocolate soufflé everyone raves about was anything, but rich. It was large in portion, but tasteless. The sea bass was cooked well, but had no flavor. The Gouda bites were cold and tasted like Cheetos. The best thing was the free bread. Atmosphere felt rushed and busy. Our server Rafael was great and very warm. He was the best part of the restaurant. Another positive is that the tuna tartar was excellent, but sadly among the dishes, the only good one. I don’t leave bad reviews, but for the price point and the prestige of the place we were led to believe it had, I felt others should know. Additionally QR code menus really took away from the ambiance. For an upscale experience in San Juan, I recommend Marabar 1919.

Google
Nice upscale restaurant in the San Juan area. Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is bright and nice. The cocktails were made really well. The dishes were all filled with rich flavors, but I found the apps and smaller plates to have more unique flavors than the entree white fish. However everything was still great and highly recommended here for an upscale lunch!

Google
Exceptional! The food went beyond our expectations, me and my husband shared the best meal we ever had. Our server, whose name I am completely blanking on, went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. He was very attentive, our glasses never were empty and he did an amazing job describing the food and specials. His recommendations were also spot on, and we enjoyed everything we had thoroughly. We shared the fried pork cracklings, and the flavor was out of this world. My husband chose the Filet meal, and I the Scallops. Both meals were phenomenal and it wasn’t hard to finish both plates in their entirety. The chocolate soufflé was also a good ending to our meal. Overall, we chose this restaurant as a “nicer” date night spot, as we are celebrating our honeymoon and are so glad we went with Mario Pagan over other suggestions we had received. The experience itself made the entire dinner worthwhile, -to the point we are considering going back before our trip ends.

Google
It was good. I didn't care for the fish sauce on the prawns, but that's personal taste. The appetizer and coconut mousse desert were very good.

Google
We were absolutely blown away by our wedding caterer! From the very first tasting, we knew the food was going to be incredible—but our guests were even more amazed on the big day. They couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything was! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The quality, attention to detail, and passion this team brings to their craft are unmatched. If you're getting married in Puerto Rico and want a truly unforgettable dining experience, we highly recommend them. A perfect 10/10!

Google
Came here for my birthday dinner and really enjoyed it! The service was excellent and we enjoyed the refined but relaxing atmosphere. Food was exceptional, our group had a good sampling across the menu: vegetables, beef, seafood, goat. Would definitely return!

Google
The best meal we had in Puerto Rico. The cod is a must try!!! The mock me cocktail was also very delicious and refreshing. Great staff, great food! 10/10 experience. You need a reservation before you go.

Google
I had high expectations here, unfortunately it was bad. High price and poor quality. We had two appetizers, tuna tartare, which was bland and the Gouda bites, it was ok. My husband had the canelon de cabrito, it tastes cow meat and it came cold. I ordered the filet with gnocchi. I ordered medium, it came medium well, also cold, 5 pieces of gnocchi, and something that come was under the broccoli was extremely sweet and unnecessary in the plate, I could not eat. I ordered the coconut mousse with pomegranate ice cream, it was ok, nothing wow. Because I said that plate took a long time to come and it was cold, they gave us a free dessert, a cheesecake. I really appreciate their gesture and that dessert was the best thing that night.

Yelp
Modern Puerto Rican place. They have valet for ten dollars. I cannot really say anything bad as liked all the food including the bread. Good cocktail and wine choices. We did a few items and shared them to create a tasting menu. A decent sized menu with options for most tastes. Service was good.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Had a bit of everything from appetizers, to salads, and entrees. This is over a two day, because I had to go back for a second. Britney Spears said it best, .."hit me, baby one more time!". Here's the one thing you can't walk away without tasting. You have to have the oxtail and fish, surf and turf. It was delicious, satisfying, tasty, and beautiful. If you love Caribbean comfort food with a delicate flare, this is your dish. The drinks are also delicious. I could not get over how good the Palo de Mario was. Israel, made a few for me and they were so consistent and refreshing. It reminded me of a passion fruit mojito that married a mix between an old fashioned and a margarita. Service is top notch here. Everyone is very well trained on customer service. They are not robotic, however. You will see and feel the warm of the people in the way they treat you and they treat each other. Ambiance was less impressive than the food and service. Nothing I would rave about. It is clean, spacious, minimalist in style. This will be my first stop from the airport every time. Go!

Yelp
Can I just say best lamb I had ever??!! Serious the best one hands down! Soufflé ??!! Come on! Just perfect! Recommended by a local friend that he said I wouldn't regret and he's right!! Good wine great service. Cute and quiet place that I will come back again and again!

Yelp
Starting off with the bread basket and the orange "caviar" margarita, I knew the meal would be delicious. If you are looking for a chic restaurant with friendly staff and a very creative menu, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The chef/owner competed as an Iron Chef on Food Network, so you know the quality will be high.

Yelp
For the price, it was a disappointment. The special ceviche was tasty but way too much raw fish for one person. But the star disappointment was the Lobster Mofongo. I was expecting the lobster to be incorporated INTO the mofongo, infusing it with flavor. Not sitting on top of it, like a B-List celebrity waiting for applause at their mere appearance. It was like ordering blueberry pancakes, expecting to have blueberries inside the pancake not scattered across in a last minute "oh yeah. This thing is supposed to come with blueberries" afterthought. The chocolate soufflé was nice. Accompanied by a small dish of sea salt added an unexpected layer of flavor. All in all. 3 stars. I've had more flavorful food at the tostones place up the road.

Yelp
Amazing service. The bread . Is amazing. We were here for a group dinner which was in their private dining room . Everything was amazing. Arugula salad Yellowtail snapper Angus filet Warm coconut cake

Yelp
Excelente experiencia... todo perfecto, Service, Food, ambiente... Mi steak divino, los tostones también. Dejen espacio para el soufflé chocolate

Yelp
The food was fabulous, the appetizer crab cake was tiny but it tasted amazing then we had white asparagus soup, omg that could be given to me everyday and I would be satisfied. My wife had a cogui espresso cocktail she raved about and I had a great vesper martini. Dinner I had oxtail fish meal was delicious and my wife had empanada chicken with tostones thumbs up even though we were full we had a soufflé chocolate with hazelnut sauce we forced ourselves to eat it and let's say I wanted a Uber to go home even though we were walking distance to the hotel . Will visit again when we come back to San Juan

Yelp
Mario Pagan offers a level of refinement that is welcome in the Condado scene. As a visitor I looked for Puerto Rican cuisine that exceeded standard regional offerings, which I've had the opportunity to sample on previous trips. This restaurant provided an upscale experience at what I considered a reasonable price. The ever-changing menu was varied and appetizing making my only regret that I didn't have enough days in San Juan to sample it more. Overall, presentation was outstanding. Portion sizes proved to be filling, even though it may not look that way on the plate so don't underestimate the meal's ability to sate your hunger. The dining experience was topflight. The servers were attentive, but not over attentive, were extremely kind and informative and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. If you follow their recommendations, you won't go wrong. Now for the food. Meal one consisted of the seasonal root vegetable soup which had a perfect amount of richness and a gentle flavor from the base vegetables. Portion size was perfect and it was itself a great introductory appetizer for the meal main dish to come. I ordered the Atun (Tuna) mostly because tuna is extremely difficult to do correctly due to its need to get an outer sear but correctly cooked interior. I chose "chef's choice" for the degree of doneness, and for me it was perfect. The porcini crust was subtle but clearly enhanced the fish. The remaining accoutrements were perfectly complementary to the tuna, and nothing overpowered the taste of this fresh fish. And I was full afterwards. Almost too full for the recommended house made yogurt ice cream which really capped the meal, was rich but not too sweet and nicely presented in its own right. After my first experience I needed to go back for another meal to try something else on the menu. This time I began with the Pulpo con Lentejas (Octopus confit) because few restaurants get pulpo texture correct. As expected, this was perfect with a great mix of complementary flavors, and the portion was sizable. Because the server said that the Cordero (lamb) was one of the chef's signature dishes, I ordered the Confitado de Cordero and was not disappointed. Lamb has such a subtle flavor itself I was pleased that the flavor was not only present but, as with the other dishes, was really enhanced by the risotto. I didn't take a picture of the pulpo, so you'll just have to go to experience the presentation of this dish. I could not indulge in dessert; I was just too full. Each meal is accompanied by a house made bread which had great flavor, but was a bit dense and doughy for my liking as a predinner offering. The cocktail menu appeared imaginable, but I did not partake here; nor did I have wine so you'll have to draw your own conclusions. I really enjoyed the entire experience at Mario Pagan. I understand that the chef has other restaurants on the island which I look forward to trying when I have the opportunity. If looking for a nice, well mannered date night and one that that doesn't break the bank, this is an excellent offering. Just go, indulge and enjoy.

Yelp
I am a chronic yelp review reader, but almost never leave a review. Mario Pagan is worth me taking the time. Everything was perfect. We were lucky enough to grab the last seats at the bar. The bartenders immediately greeted us and introduced themselves. It was so fun to watch them craft their cocktails. After my first order of a drink on the menu (which was delicious), I asked them to create something - guiding them only by a few of my likes/dislikes. It was phenomenal. We ordered a starter sampler by recommendation of the bartender, and I ordered the lobster mofungo. The food was delicious, the drinks impeccable, and the service was on another level. This is a must visit!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time! The food was good, but not sure if it was worth the price. The crab tacos were missing something, they just didn't have much taste to them. The yucca fries were absolutely outstanding and the pork chop was phenomenal. My lamb was good, but the risotto was what kept me eating. Service was okay, my boyfriend didn't know any Spanish and we were clearly American and our server spoke to us in Spanish the whole time but to the table next to us he spoke clear English. Kinda funny! ambiance was upscale, it was nice. We went on a weekday so a lot of businessmen out!

Carmen F.

Yelp
Great food. Soufflé was incredible. The service was excellent. Very helpful deciding what to eat. Was my friend birthday and she really enjoyed it. The ambiance was relax.

Ivonne V.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant many times and considered it one of the best in metro area But I have to say that last night ( June 12) it was a complete disaster TMy colleges from Fl asked for lobster and sea bass and the fish was overcooked, she left it completely, the lobster was dry the lamb was burnt and the branzino was overcooked also. I believe Mario Pagan was not there to supervise the cook. The lady who served us was attentive and knew her job but not able to notice to the kitchen
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service. Drinks are okay, everything else is good. It was definitely the best meal I had in Puerto Rico.

Laurie R.

Yelp
All things on point. Food. Service. Location . Great experience. Ambiance was glassy, yet comfortable. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

Yelp
This is our third visit and I have to say our best. The food is delicious. Presentation is beautiful. Service is wonderful. What more can anyone want. I might even say Mario Pagan is one of the best spots with Jose Enrique on par. The drinks are good. The tuna tartare was great. The snapper and sea bass were delicious. The chocolate soufflé was decadent. I want to return to try other dishes. Vaccine cards are checked. Tables are well spaced.

Yelp
I have never been served fish this good. The signature dish Black Sea Bass. I would make Mario Pagan a"destination" restaurant. Thanks Rafael for steering me in the right direction. Service, ambiance, food. Michelin quality

Yelp
From the moment you walk into door you feel like family! Hector and Isreal are amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere and company was even better!

Yelp
First meal after landing in PR. Wanted something fancy so the gf and I found this gem. Started off with the house bread and butter. The bread came out hot and fresh and the house butter was so soft it instantly melted onto the bread. Ate it all up. Escargot was tasty. Never had escargot like this before so this was a treat. Ended up getting the spikey lobster and the sea bass entree. The lobster was perfectly cooked and smothered in delicious sauce. The sea bass was my absolute favorite. It was perfectly seared (crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside). I highly recommend getting this. To end the dining expensive we had the chocolate soufflé. It came out super hot like it just came out the oven. One thing I wish I tried was the cocktail. The bar looked nicely set up. Service was great. I recommend this place for a good bite.

Yelp
If you are looking for a romantic and intimate spot, this is a great place to go! I wanted to go to a romantic restaurant while on vacation, and I wanted it not to be in a hotel. My partner delivered. The food was absolutely delicious, and their wine list is huge. The reason why I am giving 4 stars is because the service was slow, and it was hard to tell who our main waiter was. The staff made up for that for their attentiveness, though. All in all, my experience was lovely.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Best meal in recent memory. Israel the bartender is the consummate host. The crispy rice with pork and shrimp was out of this world. Five stars

Yelp
Wow ! Haven't finished my meal but the service is great. They were completed packed the they really tried and were able to get us seated

Yelp
We had reservations booked at 8pm and I was worried because a new curfew was set For restaurants to close at 9. Instead of canceling, the restaurant kindly rebooked our dinner for 7pm and texted me to make sure that was ok. The restaurant has valet parking for $10 which is worth it in my opinion. Based on the location, the loop of the street makes parking hard...there is a parking garage nearby but it's usually busy and you'll be paying nearly the same price. The valet is definitely worth it. The waiter spoke English and Spanish for us and was excellent in refilling my water and my wine. I haven't had service on point like this in the past two years of living here in PR. We ordered the escargot which was ok... the flavor of the mofongo overpowered the escargot. The Brussels sprouts were a little surprising as well as they were served with the leaves peeled apart on a plate, almost like a salad. Two in our group ordered the sea bass and the lamb, both finished their meals in no time. I ordered the lobster... the sauce and fish was cooked great but I personally had wished that the underlying mofongo had more onions. My boyfriend got the beef tenderloin which was incredible. It was actually cooked rare to his liking and the meat was tender and juicy. The pairing of the meat with the onions and gnocchi was absolutely delicious. For dessert we quickly had to eat coquito ice cream (I believe this was house made?) and soufflés. The chocolate soufflés were ok... they provided salt to add to the chocolate and I think because it was a light and soft soufflé, the coarseness of the salt was too powerful so I did not use the salt. The price of the wine seemed daunting at first, but ordering a bottle of Gewurtztraminer ended up being a smart decision. Two of us shared the bottle and it was about $10 a glass.

Yelp
Exquisite! Pricey but worth every cent, what else would you expect when you're fine dining. We were in San Juan for 5 days and this was by far the best bite during our trip. The establishment is beautiful, it was giving modern elegance-it's upscale without the white table clothes. They played great dinner music as well. The music was a pop/smooth jazz/coffee shop mashup-amazing for all ages. We were provided complimentary freshly baked bread and cod chips for table sharing. In addition, we ordered the Tuna Tartare and Yuca Fries from the bites menu. The Yuca Fries were delicious, but heavy with the garlic aioli drizzled on top. The aioli would've been better on the side for dipping. The Tuna Tartare was fresh and melted in your mouth. For dinner, I ordered the Black Chilean Sea Bass, it was presented on a bed of mashed yuca truffle mousse (pretty much tasted like some next level mashed potatoes). The Port Foie Gras Reduction paired alongside the yuca mousse was rich and DIVINE! Everything on my plate was the perfect accompaniment to each other. The sea bass was succulent and cooked perfectly. Oh, I almost forgot, I also ordered the Fizzy Le Crème cocktail which was cute and tasty. If you're looking to splurge on at least one meal while in San Juan, then Mario Pagan is the place. If you're looking to impress your friends or significant other, then Mario Pagan is the place. No matter the occasion or celebration, you can't go wrong with Mario Pagan. Cheers to a great time!

Yelp
Best dinner bread in all of Puerto Rico. I would go just to eat loaf after loaf. My record is four. My second favorite place to go for lunch in PR. ALWAYS excellent, always classy, always relaxed and easy. Definitely get: 1. Chocolate soufflé (no powdered sugar) 2. Chicken & Rice 3. Their berry mocktail 4. Lunch over dinner -super chill 5. Order extra loafs of bread to take home!! It freezes and reheats perfectly
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
I liked the restaurant overall. I especially liked the Puerto Rican local flavors in the menus. I was in a hurry so didn't quite get the full experience. My yellowtail was cooked pretty well. The dining environment was modern and nice.
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
An amazing place where you can hear your own thoughts while enjoying your meal, and they really have excellent service. Came here a few times, only annoyance is the street they are located on gets busy fast, so getting into the parking lot sometimes can take a while.and would highly recommend them to all!

Milly E.

Yelp
Beautiful and simply decorated restaurant with a very inventive menu. Convenient $10.00 valet parking which is a must in the super busy Condado area. Very welcoming and attentive service and our waiter Rafael was very knowledgeable, extra friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. What a nice man. The food was okay. For us, it was just too salty. Every appetizer and every entree was just unnecessarily salty. The flavor was there and the presentation of the dishes was beautiful but chef just needs to be less heavy handed with the salt. There was not one dish that we truly enjoyed. Too many restaurants in PR to try so unfortunately will not be returning to this one!
google avatar

Brian A.

Yelp
Food- Appetizers were undersized and nothing to write home about. But the main course we ordered the duck as well as the roasted leg of lamb and I can tell you the lamb was some of the best I have ever ordered. Service was tier I and they know how to make a killer martini. Really nice restaurant hidden amongst the slew of bars. Loved the quieter relaxed vibe.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Wow. This was one of my best dinners ever. We made a reservation for a party of 8. Arrived and were greeted by valet parking staff. Walked inside and were seated right away in an elegant but simple room. Some of the starters enjoyed at our table included Yuca Fries, Bacalaitos, and Gouda Bolitas. For main course, I highly recommend the Rabbit Ravioli with Arañitas. For desert, you must try the Souffle, but order it at the same time you order your main course. Our table praised every single food item and drink ordered. I mean, they also made a killer Old Fashioned. Overall, the Chef has surely thought about the menu, the service, and how to best share his passion. I salute you. What a treat!
google avatar

Susan G.

Yelp
The food was amazing. Nice selection of appetizers and entrees. Authentic to local dishes with a twist. I like the new decor and the bench seating. Mario was there but only graced one table for over 40 min with his presence. Would have been nice for him to have said a quick hello to everyone spending their time and money at his restaurant. Pros-good service and flavorful food, prices are reasonable. Cons-waitress sprayed windex excessively at the table next to us while we ate. Needless to say that it was not cool and my tastebuds were ruined for anything that came after that.
google avatar

Maggie M.

Yelp
Incredible cuisine, ambiance & service! Jesus, Israel, Hector and Mar were great! We went two nights in a row. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Bit C.

Yelp
Pros: 1. Generally good food - I prefer the mains over some of the apps. Loved the BLACK CHILEAN SEA BASS, ANGUS TARTARE 2. a good place for a date night where you look civilized 3. Staff friendly 4. clean 5. good wine list Cons: location is great if you can either walk or get dropped off - though they have valet parking, the traffic here can be pretty tough Final Notes: we always dine here when we're in PR

Yelp
Comfortably straddling the border of Condado and Santurce, Mario Pagan Restaurant is arguably Puerto Rico's premier fine dining venue, a low-slung building at 1110 Magdalena Avenue housing the most personal concept yet from the Chef responsible for The Laurel inside Puerto Rico Museum of Art and Sage Steak Loft at Olive Boutique Hotel. Part of the San Juan dining scene since 2016, modern décor akin to movie stereotypes of expensive eating admittedly a bit boring, it is after warm greetings and a temperature check that diners are led to well-spaced tables, the seasonal menu also adding a handful of daily specials. Dressy yet unpretentious, Chef Pagan's goal of introducing Puerto Rican-Caribbean influenced cuisine to the rest of the world evident across "Bites," "Taste," "Eat" and "Sides," it was after requesting three courses that complimentary Bread and Bacalaitos were offered, the former soft and yeasty while fried Fish was subtle and light. Priced akin to similar concepts, Appetizers $10-18 and Entrees $24-52, dinner officially began with a trio of unique tastes, Yuca painted with fragrant Paste a distinctive taste on Truffle Fries while liquid Gouda and Papaya as well as Burgundy Snails atop mini-Mofongo found French technique dancing in harmony with Caribbean ideas. Influenced by his grandmothers long before studying the culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University, Pagan's mid-course consisted of a Caribbean Tamale made from Yuca stuffed with Corned Beef before proceeding to Entrees, the Hollandaise a precursor to indulgent Spiny Lobster Thermidior whose decadence was matched by "My Lamb Shoulder Confit" with spoon-tender protein resting alongside Goat Cheese and Truffle Cauliflower Risotto. Reciting Desserts from memory, the Restaurant's signature Soufflé requested much earlier, it was after a tableside pour of Praline Anglaise that airy Chocolate quickly disappeared, with a small Cheesecake topped in Streusel Croutons and Strawberries soon to follow.

Yelp
This place was SO GOOD. The food was good along with the atmosphere. The service was great and our server was very knowledgable of the menu. The entree was light and delicious. The fish was crispy but soft in the middle and yuka root was so similar to mash potatoes but thicker. The fish tacos were so good I was so surprised. I believe it was tuna salad on top of a warm shell. Would definitely go again!

Dave L.

Yelp
We've eaten at La Central, but thought this was even better! One of the best meals in San Juan. Very nice and bright ambiance. Our server Jesus very attentive and service was very good. Drinks were good. The Classico tropical had jalapeño garnish that was a good visual and even better smooth flavor(most times I think the jalapeño is too strong). This perfectly balanced. The classic old fashioned was ok, a bit sweet for me. The complimentary bread and butter was very good, but the baccalaitos....the best in San Juan. The hands down ....best, I asked for seconds! Tuna tartar as an appetizer was ok. Filet and sea bass were very good. The grilled onions with the filet had the best flavor I've tasted, some vinegar coming through made it extra tasty.
google avatar

AshleyMarie O.

Yelp
Tuna tartare - good Gouda and papaya croqueta - total yums The freaking bread and butter!!!! I want more more more more of this. COCKTAILS not great, I would skip and head straight to the vino! We had the Winger And La juliette. Double cut veal chop good but cooked inconsistency, probably bc it was bone in, well done on ends and rare at the bone. Good after taking home and recooking though so thats good. Seabass- house special THE BEST !! I was unaware this was the house specialty, as the waiter incredulously pointed out after I asked his opinion on what we were deciding between. Glad we got it and wish I could have it all the time. Service was ok, nothing special not even a thank you as we walked out the door at the end, after a $200-$300 meal you would expect that .... at minimum, no? Souffle was ok, I would skip it
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Wow, such an outstanding meal! The Gouda croquettes appetizer was delicious and the arugula salad probably the best I have ever had. For the entree, I had the halibut. It was cooked perfectly and delicious. Service was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive. I highly recommend Mario Pagan!

Michael A.

Yelp
Where have you been hiding ? This restaurant should be on your top 5 restaurants to make reservations at with a quickness. EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING is sooooo delicious. You will be in a food coma for sure. Place is beautiful inside and the staff is amazing and attentive to your needs. Here are some pictures
google avatar

Pauline A.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant as it was highly recommended by quite a few people. Everything was delicious, drinks were just right, service was beyond welcoming. Overall, a great dining experience. This place does get kind of loud but It didn't bother me. Really is just a sign of people enjoying themselves. I missed taking pictures of some of the other things we ordered because we were having such a good time. I'd definitely return. The chilean sea bass is a must have.
google avatar

Augusto R.

Yelp
From the very beginning, the bread, the cod crisps... all of it just make you notice that you are at a FINE dining establishment. Yes, FINE in capital letters. If you are ever in San Juan, Puerto Rico trust me, you will be SOOO very happy to stop by and enjoy a HIGH CLASS meal!
google avatar

Paola G.

Yelp
I highly recommend this place, the food is delicious, the services is incredible and the atmosphere is just relaxing. We ordered lamb and sea bass, It was one of the best meals we had in Puerto Rico.

K S.

Yelp
We enjoyed the layered flavors and display of the brussel sprouts, rabbit meatballs. cassava corned beef, sea bass, and skirt steak. Although there were many people dining, there was nothing hurried and the atmosphere remained peaceful and pleasant.

Richard G.

Yelp
Food is really terrific. Cocktails too. The smaller apps were all amazing. My pork chop entree maybe the best pork chop I've ever had, and everyone was super happy with everything else. Cod, lamb, a sticky rice bowl, filet, etc. One of the better meals I've had in the San Juan area. Only minor niggle was service a bit slow (for example ordered a bottle of wine and I think it took 20 minutes or so); waitress in general seemed un-thrilled to be there. (And, paper menus would be nice. Covid is over.) But would absolutely go again.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
It was amazing. Service was outstanding and food was spectacular! If you are looking for gourmet food with local flavors check this place out.
google avatar

Kenneth S.

Yelp
Just because of the diversity of plates everyone should visit this place. I went with classic "arroz con pollo" and it was very close to the one grandma will cook. Although in the pricey side, they will deliver high taste, quality and service. You'll not be disappointed. Give it a try.

Yelp
Cute upscale dining in Condado. Went here for my friends birthday dinner and I am So glad we did. I had the lamb confit with mushroom truffle risotto and it was a HIT. So flavorful and delicious. The lamb was very tender paired with the cranberry reduction was top notch. I must say I am a foodie and this had me dancing in my seat!

Yelp
Don't go. Rice is burnt (they say style of the rice which I get but this was burnt burnt?) so are the carrots. Wines are 5 oz serves and the glaze on the carrots is like they're going for a Smokey feel but it's just so wrong. Cocktails are too sweet. The only good thing was the ambiance with live music and the hot sauce was good too. Meat was ok once added salt . Honestly a terrible dining experience. Would not go back. Also not cheap but service was really good. Too bad the things the server made sound so good were just...not.
