"Though the Chowder Room has closed on South Broadway, seafood lovers will soon have a new destination to try out in the same location: Mario’s Ocean Club. Westword reports that Mario’s will open in early May, selling fish from the East Coast, West Coast, and Gulf of Mexico. Owner Mario Vega will serve everything seafood from ceviche to lobster rolls and sole meuniere. Vega recently moved to Colorado to start a restaurant, and he met the Chowder Room’s owners just as they were preparing to leave. He’ll undertake a slight redo of the existing restaurant space before opening Mario’s next month." - Josie Sexton

Thank God this place is gone. It used to be cool back in the day but it rapidly went down hill and became a truly awful place to be. I'm genuinely glad it doesn't exist anymore.

Always loved this quirky little place. Reminds me of Tim Burton. Tasty drinks and friendly staff. And the pizza next door that they bring over is delightful~

This bar has a heavy eclectic theme with seemingly random bits that fit together to form a story. The booths are round and there is plenty of seating at the bar. Restrooms are up the stairs behind the blue and red pannels. The handrails on the stairs are made of axes. All of these things tell you the story behind the Double Daughters. Also, the bar is attached to a pizza place that's pretty good too.

Love love love this place! The interior is as unique as the drink menu. I bring my friends here for my birthday every year and have the best time! Last night was no exception, great service, not too busy. The tasty pizza can also be delivered to your red-glowing-jelly-blob table from next door. HIGHLY recommend you visit if you are in Down Town.

We visited for a stop on a ghost tour/pub crawl. The atmosphere is otherworldly. Absolutely one of the most unique bars we've been too. The cocktails were fun and tasted outstanding. Definitely stop in here if you're visiting Denver.

This is definitely a fun and unique bar to take friends to. The decor and ambiance inside are unexpected but delightful, it made me think of Alice in Wonderland mixed with the Forest in Snow White. The drinks are pretty sweet but not bad. Pizza was great. Cool place to take someone new to Denver

It's an interesting bar. Cool art. Good music. But the bartender made me unwelcome.
