"Just opened in the soaring space beside the Mint Museum, the feel of this space is luxe, with deep chairs at the bar and dramatic black-and-white decor right down to the plates. The menu is Spanish/Mediterranean (focaccia, mezzes, and kabobs), but it’s not too stuffy, with playful touches like elote-inspired street corn fritters and the Fish Camp (a fried-fish nod to Southern fish camps). Burnt Basque cheesecake with passionfruit curd is indulgent, but for an eye-popping dessert, go for the Mysterious Mushroom, a bright red fairy-tale creation crafted from fruit gels, mousse, and pistachio cake." - Kathleen Purvis

Located adjacent to the Mint Museum, Mariposa has one of the best upscale dining experiences in Charlotte with unique offerings that fuse global flavors. Whether dining indoors or on the outdoor patio, the intimate ambiance is perfect for dining. My preference is outdoors for the evening service to bask in the sun's warm rays as I dine. Service is professional and swift. The menu is carefully crafted with robust flavors that tease the palate. I enjoyed Octopus A La Plancha, Southeast Asian Street Tacos, and Chocolate Tres Leches cake. The food was divine.

Dinner was amazing. Started off with Tuna Taco small plate wonderful flavor love the crunch and very fresh tasting. Mushroom risotto was great. Had a parmesan crisp on top that was a nice added flavor. We also had the potatoes and feta salad which was fresh and more of a European style salad. Our drinks were the lavender sky which was pretty to look at and yummy. The other drink was golden glow which was definitely rum heavy and the chai added a nice flavor. Would definitely go back as I want to try the octopus and salmon

10/10!!! I have never had food this amazing. The lemon ricotta was so good!!!! I would definitely recommend this place :) also Cindy was such a sweet and kind server. She was very attentive and very helpful :3 my friend had a shellfish allergy and she helped us out with no problem! I would definitely ask to be seated with her. (She even took our pics) a beautiful restaurant to dine in

Google
A culinary treat! Duck arepas were small but flavorful. Drinks are all unique and eclectic. We had the lamb burger and French toast, and both were superb. Adam was our server and he took great care of us. Even suggested the lavender crème brûlée and it was out of this world!!! A lot of “best in my life” foods here.

Google
Mariposa seems to be about the same experience every time we go. The food is usually good. I got the lamb burger and enjoyed it but the sweet potato fries were overcooked. Others in my groups got other meals they enjoyed. Challenge is that it’s ridiculously priced for Charlotte. Also the menu sometimes get overly creative simply for the reason of being different, not necessarily good. The live music was very nice. Talented guys but it was very loud. We had to yell at each other at the table to hear each other. So basically, it’s a mixed bag.

Google
Great view and service, the food was good , great presentation with extra attention to details. The Street Corn Fritters and Pulled Duck Arepas were basic while the octopus was good but not something I would reorder , might try other items from the menu if revisit.

Google
One of the best meals I’ve had in my life. Everything was spectacular. The quality of ingredients was evident. Service was top notch. Atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back next time we are in Charlotte.

Google
We had a great time here! Great atmosphere, food, and service. Our waitress Asia was so friendly and helpful in giving us recommendations and fabulous service. We just moved to Charlotte, and will definitely be coming back frequently.

Yelp
Really liked this place! We had friends in town and this spot - connected to the Mint Museum - was close to their hotel. We sat outside and enjoyed the music from the arts festival. There was a huge wine list, which I was impressed by, and had lots of whiskeys and tequilas. Cocktail list was brief, though I bet they can make just about anything. I had their Mediterranean Mirage, which had an edible butterfly on top! We ordered some small plates and then entrees. With the shareables, I felt the lomo saltado was the right amount of food to split with a friend. Everything I ate was delicious, and I would have again. Our server was friendly and attentive. Location is good, not too far from the convention center (easy access from light rail) and right in the heart of the city. It's great if you want to dress up and wander around the museum or have an event nearby. Would love to come back for Jazz Brunch, too!

Yelp
My wife and I ate here after visiting the Mint Museum. We thought based on it being attached to the museum, it would be a nice quality restaurant and a romantic way to end a date night. However we found both the food quality and quantity lacking. The server was apathetic and acted like he had somewhere else better to be. The size of some of their large plates should have been small plates. The food was overly salty and the drinks were watered down. Disappointing for having spent so much. The only nice thing was the view, which I have attached photos of. Overall, stay away....there are other restaurants within walking distance of the museum.

Yelp
Ambiance & Service 10/10! Food, ehhh. I loved the decor and plates, but the food we opted for was just ok. My party said it was 10/10, but I didn't feel the same. I know Peruvian food isn't heavily spiced like other Spanish countries. The Shrimp & Crab balls had no flavor, but the aoli was decadent. It was rich and smooth. The crust was light and airy. Great fry on them. I got the Peruvian Chicken. The pickle jalapeños with chickpea and chicken was a great bite. The rice was supposed to be flavorful as it was cooked with beans, which was more al dente. She got the Venetian with prawns. It's a soupier take on the southern classic shrimp-n-grits. Lastl, the drinks were divine. The Dulce De Leche is a whimsical play on an expresso martini, and the Tropical Sunrise Fizz was light and dreamy. I personally would say it was a 6.5/10.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday to celebrate a friend's birthday. From the moment we entered until we left, the experience was amazing. The menu is not extensive however you can tell great thought has been put in the tapas and large shareable items on it. We started with the following small plate items: seared scallops, tuna poke tacos and tandoori spiced cauliflower. All were incredibly seasoned and presented but the standout was the tacos. Absolute perfection! Our large share item was the paella. The rice was good perfectly and the seafood - flounder, mussels and shrimp were fresh and prepared well. I'd certainly visit again there are so many other items on the menu I'd like to try!

Lesley W.

Yelp
I was a little disappointed, having heard rave reviews. The atmosphere and vibe were good. It's definitely a good place for pre or post drinks. The server was super friendly and made informed recommendations for menu items. The whipped ricotta app was yummy. The pro belly bao were flavorful but 2/3 of them were inedible because the pork belly was literally a block of fat - zero meat at all. I've heard their Sunday brunch is good so I may give them another chance to wow me!

Yelp
After touring the museums upstairs, we swung in for an early dinner (with no reservations) on a Saturday night... Since the weather was good, we opted for patio dining...with great views of uptown Charlotte. Both indoors or out, ambiance is simply A-Plus! Their menu isn't extensive, but what they have are pretty exciting...all very global fusion. I could be wrong, but it seemed they changed up a few things since our last visit. For instance, they no longer feature this amazing red mushroom dessert. This time, we decided to share their huge skillet of "Gullah Paella"...which was shockingly good!! Possibly the best version of "Paella" I've ever had?!? We also shared the Street Corn Fritters and the Tandoori Spiced Cauliflower...and both were beyond delish! Same verdict on the dessert, Portokalopita. Amazing cocktails, Catawba Colada, too! EVERYTHING was blissfully good....like WOW. BTW, service was really good...and I absolutely loved their sophisticated metro overhead music. This was my 3rd time here...and I'm now fully convinced that this is one of my (if not THE?!?) favorite restaurants in Charlotte. PS***I"m not docking any stars, but in retrospect and looking at the pictures of the foods, the presentation was a bit sloppy. I think they could have tried a bit harder.

Ananya M.

Yelp
This place had really nice vibes, the patio area is gorgeous with great views. The service was friendly and excellent and the cocktails were amazing! The food however was pretty disappointing. We ordered the whipped ricotta which was delicious and different from most whipped cheeses at tapas restaurants bc it was oven roasted. The tandoori cauliflower however I felt was bland and undercooked. The piri piri chicken also was very bland, tasted like it hadn't been marinated at all and was undercooked! Bc of that our server did give us a complimentary arancini, which was great, and octopus, which was a bit rubbery. Overall, I think this place is a great vibe for apps and cocktails but for dinner a bit disappointing especially given the price. Probably wouldn't come again unless it's for drinks.

Crystal M.

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and the food was ok. Our server was attentive. The menu changed a lot and it's ok.

Aisha M.

Yelp
Last Sunday , my friends I dined at Mariposa. I had made reservations a few weeks prior, when I got there, They couldn't confirm my reservation. I showed them my confirmation that I got from open table. I really love it here,... but it could use a little more hospitality.

Cecillia A.

Yelp
So the ambiance is nice. Pretty fancy and not what I was expecting as they were playing cute like songs in a vibey uptown restaurant so that was kinda weird to me. The service is good. They were accommodating as we wanted to move tables due to it being close to the balcony. Server wasn't as attentive. But front desk host were nice. The food there I would not recommend. We had the paellla and it was way overcook and too small for 42$, I definitely would prefer and recommend bulla for anyone wanting paella. The drinks were good and strong. I would only go back for the drinks. It was a little hard to find at first but finally found my way. They don't have their own parking so you would have to pay to park in uptown. I would not come back for the price. Just another overprice uptown restaurant serving not good food.

David Y.

Yelp
I had a business lunch there during a conference. Requested a quiet table but the options were to eat outside in the heat or inside and try to talk over the loud jazz brunch. Food wise, the menu looked really good. I had the feta salad with salmon. The salmon was pretty good but the salad was 75% green peppers which I asked them to exclude when I ordered. The server came back to say that they couldn't exclude the green peppers but it was almost like they put in extra to troll me. It seems like a nice place but it was a miss for a serious business meal.

Donald L.

Yelp
Great ambience, great location, food was decent, the smaller sharable plates were probably better than our selection of the entrees.

Sabrina C.

Yelp
Just GORGEOUS--I'll start here because the interior aesthetics take my breath away & leave me in awe every time that I enter. It's clear that an immense amount of thought went into the decor--from the beautiful chandeliers, to the lovely abstractly painted columns, to the amazingly unexpected butterfly wall leading to the restrooms, to the lovely marble plates upon which some of Charlotte's best dishes rest--Mariposa delivers unforgettable dining experiences bar none. Then, there's the food--a tantalizing array of small & large Mediterranean shareables designed to please many palates. A few of my faves include the kabobs--lamb or chicken for me--, the Piri Piri chicken, the focaccia with the BEST olive tapenade I've ever tasted (and I live for olives so that's saying a lot, lol), and the newly added fish camp. Run, don't walk, to Mariposa for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Cheers! Pro Tip: Round your experience out by visiting the onsite exhibits at The Mint--lovely restaurant in a lovely museum=total win!

Yelp
I had an amazing birthday. The staff were very kind and accommodating! The live music was very soothing.

Angela L.

Yelp
I've been here before for dinner but this was my first brunch experience. Love the ambiance. Love the addition of live music. The food remains very good! You MUST order the corn fritters. Trust me. We also appreciated the lamb burger (with those wonderful fries) and the breakfast potatoes with onions & peppers. The shrimp & grits were truly unique. Those grits alone were outta here! It wasn't overly crowded for a Saturday morning in uptown. The drinks are inventive and tasty as well. Great service.

Marharyta K.

Yelp
The menu offers a mix of Mediterranean, American classics, and European influences. For brunch, there's one standout dish that stole my heart: their shakshuka with feta. It's got a kick of spice, and you can add your choice of shrimp, lamb, or chicken skewer. But alas, they recently revamped their menu, leaving me nostalgic for their exceptional mezze board, that was just like in Greece. They used to serve an incredible twist on chilaquiles with cilantro cream too. And cocktails are also great there and pretty generous. A Few Hiccups: Some items didn't quite hit the mark. The Burnt Basque fell below average expectations, and I had a Lamb Burger fail - the meat was disappointingly undercooked with a mere 1 mm of sear on the outside and shockingly lacking in seasoning. And just to clarify, I'm all for medium-roasted steaks and carpaccio, but raw minced meat? Not my plate of choice. The waitstaff might not be fast, but in their defense, the place is always full with people. However, they have exceptional hosts! They are attentive, positive, energetic, they share all the good vibes with you and are also extremely stylish. The interior is modern and high-end, with gold accents and cozy furry chairs. But what really catches the eye is the stylish bar area, complete with a cool zebra print bar. It's spacious with high ceilings that add a sense of grandeur. Word to the wise: make the reservation, because this place is always crowded, especially for weekend brunches when they have live music.

Yelp
A marvelous time was had at Mariposa! Visited recently on a Wendesday evening for a Mariposa + Mint Museum night and will definitely be back or recommending this place to others! I parked in the Levine Center for the arts parking garage and took the elevator directly to P2 where it takes you directly to the restaurant and museum. I was meeting some friends for dinner and was immediately seated upon arrival. Our amazing waiter was Oneil - seriously, he was a great time and enhanced our dining experience! I ordered the chipotle rubbed short rib and roasted veggies. The short rib was delicious and quite filling! The veggies were a seasonal mix of asian veggies. Oneil recommended the potatoes which I will definitely try on my next visit. Everyone was happy with their meals and the ambiance is great for a girls night or date night spot. I do wish they would get rid of the sofas used for seating at the tables. They're WAY TOO LOW especially for my fellow short folks and make for an awkward dining experience.

Maritza R.

Yelp
We have been trying to get here for the longest. Finally made it for brunch and it was worth it. The ambiance is super cute. The waitstaff was very attentive and helpful when it came to decisions about the food. She was very knowledgeable about different menu options as well as drinks. The food was really good. There were nice portions and very fulfilling. We will definitely be back for dinner.

Melina B.

Yelp
What a beautiful place and a great experience! We came here for lunch to celebrate my friends 30th birthday and we had a great time! Our waiter was funny, attentive, helpful and kind! He recommended the best alcoholic drinks! The food was amazing! All of us enjoyed our food! The view is beautiful and the inside is decorated nicely. The bathrooms are clean. This place is such a great vibe and the music was perfect! I definitely recommend coming here for a great time and delicious food!

Yelp
After wanting to try Mariposa since they opened, we finally had a chance two years later. The Mint Museum parking garage was closed, so the Mariposa hostess called in advance of our reservation and suggested parking across the street at The Green Garage. It was close and very convenient, and only cost us $10 for two hours. We reserved a high top table, and were seated next to the bar. The seating was very comfortable, and we loved the view of Uptown and the restaurant from our table. Since Mariposa is known for their specialty cocktails, we tried a couple. My husband had the Blackberry Velvet Bramble ($18). Since I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks, I requested a gimlet ($14 gin + $3 mixer). We enjoyed both of them, but they were more expensive than we usually pay for comparable beverages. The server suggested that we order a mix of items across the small and large shareables, as well as a side or two. Here's what we had - 1. Tuna crudo ($15) - 5/5 - This dish was exceptional, and we both loved the Asian flavors and spice level. 2. Seared Scallops ($22) - 5/5 - This was another favorite dish. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the XO sauce was spicy. I thought it was a bacon jam originally, haha, but the topping actually included finely chopped oysters and shrimp. 3. Burrata ($16) - 3/5 - We enjoyed the burrata and pesto, but the tomatoes were a bit firm and not as ripe as we would have liked. The accompanying toasted bread was just ok. We wouldn't get this again. 4. Half Piri Piri Chicken ($18) - 2/5 - This dish included a thigh and breast. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but the chicken was EXCESSIVELY salty. I am not sure if it was because of the dry rub or brine. We definitely won't get this again. 5. Tandoori Spiced Cauliflower ($10) - 5/5 - This side was huge, and incredibly flavored. We both loved the raisins and raita. 6. Squash Casserole ($10) - 3/5 - This dish contained more homemade croutons than squash, but everything was tasty. It was just too much food for us to finish, however. We definitely had more food than we needed, and decided if we return, we'll only get two or three small shareables and one side. Service was very good, and the timing of the dishes was perfect to allow us to have one or two items to enjoy at a time. Overall, the bill was a high for the value, although we know we ordered too much. When I compare Mariposa to our favorites--Barcelona Wine Bar and Good Food on Montford--the latter two edge out Mariposa for providing a better combination of exceptional food and slightly lower pricing.

Yelp
The atmosphere is somewhat reminiscent of the Art Deco era; but also of the 70s Mod era with their white fur chairs (which I'd love to own). I and a friend went for their Saturday morning jazz brunch. I had a non alcoholic "rum" drink that I would definitely order again as it was citrusy with a faint taste of "rum". Of course we saw another table order the Dulce de Leche Martini which looked so good that we each ordered one of those also. It had a strong expresso flavor which I loved but was covered in the Dulce de Leche that looked like mocha whipped cream. You could mix in as much or as little as you like to sweeten it to your liking. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasantly attentive. The food was beautifully plated and skillfully prepared. We started with their crab and shrimp cakes which were filled with large chunks of shrimp and crab in a very thin later of breading over a wonderful aioli. The flavors while subtle were very complex and definitely scrumptious. Next I had the prawns and polenta. Not only was the polenta creamy and well seasoned, the prawns were juicy and cooked perfectly. There were pickled jalapeños and thin slivers of red onion along with some micro greens sprinkled throughout such that every spoonful had different notes of umami, sour, and sweet as well as different textures. Only thing I would say is that the polenta was a little looser than I'd prefer but the flavors more than made up for that. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I plan to go back next week to try their lunch and ultimately dinner. With such a gifted chef, I'm excited to try other items on the menu.

Courtney S.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! I have tried almost everything on the menu and I'd order all of it again and again! Their craft cocktails are fantastic and unique. They do it tapas style so everything comes out as it's ready, so be careful about ordering it all at the beginning of the meal. I like to play it by ear as I go. The duck arepas and the pork bulgogi lettuce wraps are two of my go-toes. Did I mention I love all of the decor? They did an amazing job designing this place. It's also right by the museums, so perfect for a date night!

Kendra B.

Yelp
Meh. Disappointed. Nice ambiance but the food was not great considering the price point. It was just okay. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Mindy P.

Yelp
We randomly found Mariposa on the way to The Green. I didn't realize how hungry I was until we sat down, the Burrata appetizer jumped off the menu at me and I was so excited. Heirloom tomatoes, pesto, a delightful piece of bread with it that was airy and very flavorful. Unfortunately we jumped in so fast, I didn't get a photo, but the plate was big refreshing and exciting for the palette, it also came out very quickly. We were ordering off the brunch menu, my partner chose The Standard and I, shakshuka. I did not see an option to add protein. This was disappointing, I absolutely would have. As it was, I have no complaints, the plate stayed super hot while I was eating and held a fantastic flavor. I'm still full several hours later, I don't know when I'll be hungry for dinner! Ha! I also very much enjoyed the live music while we ate. Great atmosphere, great service, would recommend.

Kayla B.

Yelp
I've been in Charlotte for almost a year now and this is hands down, the BEST food I have eaten thus far. My family eats out a lot, so that says a lot. I went to Mariposa tonight with a girlfriend of my who has also not tried the restaurant. We made a 7:15 reservation and was seated promptly upon arrival. We reserved the bar but we're pleasantly surprised when they offered us a table on the patio outside. I am not a huge outdoor seating girl, but it could not have been a better night to sit outside and enjoy a meal. We started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and the Focaccia w olive tapenade and Burrata. For our mains we got the Gullah Paella and the Chipotle Crusted Short Rib. We were too full for dessert but they all sounded great as well. I truly have nothing negative to say. From the service to the food and views, it was a great night and will be back to experience it again.

Krissy W.

Yelp
Food was baller. It is a little more on the expensive side, but you get that when hitting up a tapas place uptown. The vibes and atmosphere were beautiful! To no surprise they also had a great wine menu. The service was incredible. This is a great date night spot. We will definitely be back.

Mark M.

Yelp
Went to Mariposa for lunch on a Saturday. It was unusually slow (according to the staff). I sat at the bar and got to enjoy some very nice live music. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed. The staff is attentive. The food is tasty. I ordered the Burratta and it was just right. I asked the bartender, Katie, to make me her favorite drink. She made her own creation, a muddled basil, lemon drop gin martini. Talk about a perfect pairing for my meal! Wow. I will definitely go back when I get a chance.

Sabrina H.

Yelp
Visiting family in CLT and found this gem of a spot! My honey and I decided on here for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Service was great from beginning to end. It definitely was an intimate setting with dim lighting so it's perfect for cocktails with your girls or date night. Would recommend!

Neema B.

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my list for some time, so when I had a chance to go for lunch recently, I took it. Our group was a good size but we had a reservation and were seated immediately. We sat near the window and part of the group sat on the sofa. They were visibly much lower than those of us in the chairs and possibly a little too low to eat comfortably. The service was pretty good, our server was helpful and friendly. He also made good suggestions about items on the menu. I ordered the lamb burger with fries since I was told that was the best thing on the menu. Indeed it was!! Most of the others in my party ordered salads and other entrees and were not pleased with their meals. The lamb was tender and seasoned perfectly! I would come back to order it again along with a cocktail. The decor is pretty, and I hope to return for dinner or brunch.

Chris K.

Yelp
Matiposa is located in The Mint museum. We love good museum cafes, and Mariposa is near the top of the list! The food is inventive and flavorful. We enjoyed the Peruvian Chicken Bowl with rice and avocado and the Cobb Salad with large chunks of crispy bacon and a red wine vinaigrette. The restaurant is fitting for a museum because of its artistic decor and bright open space. The open kitchen with the fire oven was fun to watch! Service was friendly and efficient. Prices were fine for the good quality of the food.

Asha E.

Yelp
I love, love, love that Mariposa has live music on Sundays during brunch. It's a nice touch. Plates are small but shareable and the mimosas are wonderful. Service is good and the atmosphere and decor pass the vibe check. Folks who eat at Mariposa probably consider themselves fancy in some form or fashion- if this is you, this is a spot you should check out. Do not come here expecting a Denny's Grand Slam breakfast!

Alexis R.

Yelp
I went to mariposa for my birthday last night with my family... and had such a horrible experience. My server was a tall guy with glasses from Spain (can't remember his name). He was extremely overly attentive to all the tables around us and was very neglectful to our table. He was extremely dismissive, took forever to bring us waters, refills etc, but made sure the other tables around us got what they needed. My father had to get up several times to try to get some assistance. He even got up to go get our drinks at one point (it was that bad). And even got up to remove all of the dirty dishes that were covering our table. My father, who is a pastor was trying to make simple conversation with the server and his response to everything was "good for you" as he continued to be extremely dismissive. I finally couldn't take it anymore and was ready to leave. My father asked him directly for the check, he went to get it, came to the table, walked directly past my father, and placed it right in front of my sister.(mind you my father was the only man at the table and told him at the beginning that he was bringing us to dinner to celebrate our birthday). It was such a classless thing to do! We were also double charged for an item...but at that point we were so ready to leave we didn't even care to have him update it!!! The tab was only $291 but i seriously would have been happy spending that elsewhere after my experience. After it all.. my father being who he is said "I'm still going to bless him".. gave him an $100 tip and told him God bless you. When he saw the tip...he came running back to the table ..shook my dad's hand...thanked him...and begin to try to attend to us in those last moments! He then all of a sudden had so much to tell us about the restaurant, what days to come back, did we need any boxes ect! (It was the first time all night that he seemed interested in having a conversation with us....... The restaurant is beautiful....but I seriously will never return, nor take my family back to this place! I have been treated better at Chick-fil-A ...and probably would have preferred it ..had I known we would be treated so horribly for my birthday. Unfortunately, I don't recommend this place.

Marie B.

Yelp
I got the French toast with some potatoes and they were extremely delicious. The potatoes were season two perfection. My favorite part of the dish was the fact that I didn't eat any type of syrup with my French toast. The mascarpone was truly amazing.

Janelle B.

Yelp
This place is a must go to for brunch (brunch is on Saturday and Sunday). It's pricey! You will have to pay for parking either in a parking garage or on the street. When you walk up the stairs through the doors to your left will be the restaurant. When we walked in we was graced by the beauty of the decor and jazz music. There restaurant has indoor seating and balcony seating (for those who want to eat outside and admire the city). Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu and took good care of us. The food was flavorful which our palates enjoyed. We will be back.

Cortez D.

Yelp
First time in Charlotte and came here after a friend got engaged. The Lamb burger was nothing short of amazing with the hand cut. And the Martini was amazing. Will definitely return next time I'm in town. Thanks again Andrew and O'neal for assisting with the reservations for a large party at the last minute

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Brunch at Mariposa is absolutely wonderful. I enjoyed French toast with fresh fruit. The customer service was top tier. The restaurant has large windows allowing a lot of natural light. There was a live band playing which added to the overall vibe. I'll be back.

Lexi R.

Yelp
Wow I really wish I didn't love this place as much as I did because we live across the country and will probably seldom get to eat here. If you are local or visiting in town, definitely check out Mariposa! Their dishes are tapas style. Their cuisine sends you in a trio around the world. We ordered pork belly bulgogi lettuce wraps, duck arepas, tuna crudo, and paella. The pork belly was one of the best pork bellies we've had! And boy do we eat out alot. It was seriously melt in your mouth tender and you could cut it with a fork. Even the rice that comes with the lettuce wraps had flavor to it. The duck arepas were tasty as well. I love the way it's presented. I think of it as an open faced arepa lol. The tuna crudo was an explosion of flavors. The paella was pretty good too but I do wish it had socarrat, the layer at the bottom that if cooked right, becomes toasty and crunchy. I do appreciate the generous amount of seafood you get with this dish! The restaurant is so cute inside and connected to what seems like an art museum. It's elegant yet not too fancy. You can come casually dressed or dressed to the nines. Service is great and attentive.

Yelp
Caught the tail end of Sunday's brunch at Mariposa and I was pleasantly surprised for my first time! I had the shrimp and grits and started with the corn fritters! Both were delicious! We were greeted when we walked in and our waitress was so nice and attentive! Service was great! The restaurant was inside the Mint Museum so the ambiance was excellent! Beautiful decor! The only negative is the space is extremely small; the couches sit very low and the chair sit high so for a table of 2 it was a little awkward but based on the food and service (and the great prices!) I will def return!

Yelp
I tried the pork belly lettuce wraps (very tasty) and the scallops (NOT good - way over salted). Good service, nice ambiance.

Yelp
First and foremost the aesthetic of this place is beautiful. Loved how cozy it was while it also giving a very grown and sexy feel. I visited Mariposa for a birthday brunch and immediately feel in love with the look. The drinks were beautiful as well. The food was probably a 3/5 for me, it was bad but it wasn't the best ever. ***please review photos for food/drink item review

Yelp
Got a giftcard here and took my in-laws out to dinner. WOW was this an incredible meal. The food was incredibly high quality, the space was funky and cool with great views. The service was normal - nothing to write home about - but honestly I care way more about the food than the service. The food will keep me coming back.

Yelp
Such a beautiful restaurant!!! I highly recommend the corn fritters and the salmon!!! I love the drinks as well!! The staff is always nice and welcoming!! The only thing I do not like is the parking. I pay $21 each time I visit. That is not a reflection of the restaurant but I definitely need to figure out a better parking arrangement. Go check Mariposa out!!

Yelp
As an out of state visitor I would've walked past this place over and over and not known there was a restaurant, but Yelp guided me here. I arrived with a friend at opening, even though the place was empty we could only sit out on the patio or at the bar. I was leaning towards bar for some sweet AC, since it was 90, and the space is gorgeous. My friend selected outside though so we sat and sweated are asses off. I had a nice view of inside though with the plush velvet, black and gold accents, loved. For drinks, I tried the fuego roca terra, I disliked it, and bourbon royalty, ending with the regatta colada, those last two I would recommend. We ordered vegetarian, the mezze board, street corn fritters, and vegetable tagine. The corn fritters were money, the other two dishes didn't blow me away, but they were good too. Great space and service!

Yelp
My review is only for the bar area... I met a few girlfriends here for drinks before we went out to dinner elsewhere. The service was great and quick, and the prices are about what you should expect for the area and this type of environment. It is a beautiful location and I should probable make an attempt at having a meal here sometime, as the reviews seem good on the food. If / when I eat here, I will leave an updated review on the food. Again, it is a great spot for a quick drink

Yelp
Genuinley enjoyed having dinner here. We had the bulgogi wraps, tuna carpaccio, short ribs, focaccia with olives, and squash casserole, I don't have a bad thing to say about anything we ate. The service was also delightful, and the atmosphere tickled our eyes. The only reason for 4 stars is the limited cocktail list and their general lack of balance. The staff was caring and fun and heightened the experience

Yelp
This place was alright. It has a nice atmosphere and the staff is very attentive. They have a wide variety of flavor profiles on the menu and everything we had was delicious!!! Would have given 5 star excerpt they were out of a lot of items. Their menu is about 15-20 items big in total and they were out of 4 different things that we tried to order. Being out of 20-25% of your items is pretty disappointing, also considering we had a $175 per person deposit on the reservation. Would be hesitant to come back just because I guess you never know what they're gonna have.

Yelp
My group of five ladies loved everything we had, and the service was great! We had Tuna crudo, Street corn fritters, Pulled duck arepas, Tandoori spiced cauliflower, Squash casserole, Roasted vegetables, Grecian potatoes, Olive focaccia; shrimp, lamb, and chicken kabobs. We had twelve (two of the tuna) dishes between us and it was perfect. So plan for about 2/pp depending on if you're getting small or large shareables. My personal favorites were the Tuna crudo, Squash casserole, Grecian potatoes, and the Olive focaccia. As a group, the Tuna crudo was our stand-out dish. Our one negative: We all agreed that the lamb kabobs were delicious but so tiny it made us think they must have started to run out and were stretching it. We also agreed that one dish that included all three types of kabobs would have been nice instead of ordering one stick at a time. The cocktails were perfect and strong. We had the Viracocha and the Bride D'Hiver. Our server also recommended a spectacular champagne (technically a Champenoise from California), Paula Kornell. We all snapped a photo of it. Excellent choice. We all are looking forward to returning with our husbands for date nights!
