"Over the past 20 years, chef Lisa Dahl created a restaurant empire in Sedona. In 2015, she opened Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, with dishes from Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay guiding her menu. A filet mignon comes with a Gorgonzola chipotle sauce, while the seafood options include the jumbo grilled tiger shrimp and diver sea scallops. House specialties include pollo rustico with charred corn and roasted potatoes, and a steelhead salmon finished with earthy mushrooms. The only thing that might outdo the food is the view." - Jamie Killin, Eater Staff

My friend Ali and I went for lunch on a snow day, and after a 5 day retreat with #oliverniño. We were glad it was open because the place is just spectacular. Aubrie was our waitress and she was not only patient with us, since we were just taking our time to enjoy the delicious food and drinks, but she was also very attentive and amicable. We ended up staying there for 3 hours and we loved every minute. The dessert and capuccinos were just too exquisite to rush it.

I went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary on Christmas Eve. Our server, Molly, was incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service. The food was next-level—truly one of a kind. We’re visiting from Chicago, where we thought we had the best food, but this restaurant completely blew us away. And that’s just the food—when you add the stunning view, the friendly people, and the overall experience, it’s a 10/10. To top it off, Chef Lisa was in the kitchen that night, which made the experience even more special!

The Veggie Nirvana and Vaquero steak were outstanding. Thank you for such creativity with a vegetarian dish and for having good options. The soup and flan were very good as well. The restaurant is beautiful and the music went with the theme. We had a truly delightful and memorable evening.

Google
This was hands down the best meal I've ever had. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the ceviche, but it was gone before I could get one. The steak and chicken were perfect, the potatoes were unreal, and the old fashioned was the best I've ever had. The only thing better than the food was the experience. Amazing atmosphere and the staff was incredible. Mariposa made our first night as a married couple amazing. My wife and i will forever be greatful!

This was our first time here. We were celebrating our anniversary. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was beautiful. The views were as well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. We were very happy with our evening.

My wife and I had a delightful dining experience at Mariposa during our recent visit to Sedona. The food and drinks were fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, I had a slight disappointment with the attention to detail at the front desk. It was my wife’s birthday, and I had specifically requested a good table with a decent view when making the table reservation. Despite arriving before the dinner rush and most tables being empty, we were seated at a table with rather unappealing views. I understand that it’s not always possible to accommodate every request, but I would have appreciated a bit more effort in ensuring that these notes made during reservations are looked at. Nevertheless, I don’t let this minor issue overshadow the overall positive experience we had at Mariposa. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Sedona.

Joined for lunch and greatly enjoyed the experience. The ambience, food, and service exceeded our expectations. We look forward to dining with them again real soon! Stay Blessed.

Google
This place comes highly recommended, and for good reason! The food, atmosphere, and stunning views all contributed to an unforgettable dining experience. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including their savory empanadas, flavorful stuffed peppers, sea bass tacos, and a steak sandwich. It is recommended that you make a reservation.

Yelp
From host to check, an outstanding experience. Our server William G, was professional and knowledgeable. The level of service was impressive to say the least. Great ambience, great staff, incredible culinary experience.

Yelp
Friends who visited from Miami a couple years ago recommended it. We were visiting from LA and loved everything! We had Prickly Pear Margaritas, Mushroom Empanadas, Filet Mignon, Skirt Steak, Elote, and more!! Our server Greg was so friendly, knowledgeable, and took some great pics of us outside with the beautiful mountain backdrop! We'll recommend to others and hope to be back soon!

Yelp
Great food, great music, lovely service. Made our Sedona trip very special. Will be coming again when we are in town

Yelp
Everything except the bartender was awful. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by a hostess whose attitude was down right disgusting. To the foul odor Chilean sea bass tacos. Overcooked, extremely fishy smelling. We spit out our bites. Complained to a shocked bartender. Then got to watch the staff parade our dish around the kitchen to "approve" us sending the dish back. Common in any establishment when a dish is sent back should be to be told. I'm sorry and to ask if they can get us anything else. We wanted nothing at that point but to pay for our drinks and leave instead I was greeted by a "general manager" who clearly must have hired the hostess. Who told me the chef was going to "check our tacos". I stated I already asked for my bill thanks for your commentary. To which I was smugly told "Hope you come back and see us again." Absolutely not. Why? Zero reason. Honestly this is how to not run any business. This was our 3rd bad experience at this place. Despite an amazing view there is no redeeming qualities. The chef/owner needs to get back in her kitchen asap. Not near the quality or service level of her other Resturant's. Not sure how this place is still open. Surely if this place were in a culinary city like Las Vegas they would absolutely not make it. Couldn't suggest taking your money to 89 Agave more for service and good Latin inspired food in Sedona. Wish I could give them a zero.

Yelp
My dinner experience at Mariposa was nothing short of spectacular. The evening started with a stroke of luck, having Greg as our server, who made our night even more delightful. We kicked off with the yucca fries, which were a solid 10/10. If you're a fan of unique appetizers, these are a must-try. For drinks, I went with a prickly pear martini, and my wife opted for a prickly pear margarita. Both were so good that I'm regretting not discovering prickly pear martinis sooner! For the main course, I had the filet mignon with chimichurri on the side. It was cooked to absolute perfection, and the wood fire grilled taste added a wonderful depth of flavor. On the side we had Lisa's mashed potatoes with lemon zest and lobster, which were so rich and flavorful that they deserve a special mention. To wrap up the night, I indulged in the prickly pear cheesecake. It was simply divine, though I had to take some home. Mariposa offers a truly enchanting atmosphere, with music that makes you feel like you're in Latin America. If you're in Sedona and searching for an unforgettable dining experience, Mariposa is definitely the spot!

Yelp
We booked a reservation in advance that required a cc to hold the spot while we were on a gal's trip to Sedona last weekend. We had to wait 10 min for our table and then a bit longer for our server. The food was really good but pricey and it seemed to take a while to get our food. We enjoyed sharing some appetizers. We had to ask a few times for refills of our waters. We enjoyed the inside decorations and set up...nicely done. Overall a nice experience and would like to go back when the weather is warmer to enjoy their patio area.

Yelp
We travel to Sedona often and always take our family/friends to Mariposa. This was our 5th time eating here. Be sure to make a reservation and ask for the main dining room, which is beautiful. If you come early enough when there is still light outside the views are amazing. This time I called a few weeks ahead and there were no standard tables, so I booked a high top. However, when we got there we felt my mom would have some difficulty sitting on a high chair so the very nice manager accommodated us and put us on a regular table within 15 minutes (not main dining but still nice). Dinner was great, as always. We love the empanadas, though a little disappointed that the corn was not in season this time. The shrimp ceviche and scallops were good. The ceviche has these tiny Peruvian peppers that I love. I always ask for some extra and they kindly give them to me. For the main courses we had a filet, halibut (delicious!), and the vegetarian poblano dish. Our server was great and made sure our steak was not too charred. We will continue to go to Mariposa every time we visit Sedona. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Went here for our 8th wedding anniversary dinner and loved the overall experience. It is an upscale restaurant so not cheap but worth it. I recommend a reservation before you head here. They are not on OpenTable but I did book through Google. Overall I would recommend this place if expense is not a thing for you. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: From appetizers to entrees to drinks everything was finger-licking good and we loved it overall. I do wish they had more draft beer options on tap. Service: Our server was very nice to us. Came to check multiple times and the service was quick as well. Great experience overall. Ambiance: Well decor interior and it looks great. If you are on a date then your partner will be impressed for sure. Hygiene: Everything was clean and tidy, from the restaurant to the dishes to the tables. Price: Upscale restaurant so prices are as per that as well. However, our total bill was still lower than many other upscale places that we have dined-in. I would not go here every day but wouldn't mind being here on special occasions.

Yelp
Scenic view - 5 stars Hostess- 5 stars warm and inviting Shrimp ceviche- 3 stars lacked flavor Ended up playing a game of what I ordered vs what I got So we ordered 2 glasses of ginger ale in champagne flutes toast my birthday ended up receiving 2 glasses of champagne mixed with ginger ale after that was corrected everything went downhill we ordered the gringo burger and a Cesar salad with grilled chicken with a side of yuca fries what we received absolutely nothing so after an hour and twenty minutes of waiting we had to go to make our spa appointment so don't go to Mariposa hungry or if you're on an itinerary and have activities scheduled

Terri K.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience! Everything we had was delicious. You must make reservations. To start the mussels & empanadas were superb. Whiskey flip drink was good. Ask for the chocolate martini. It's a great after dinner drink instead of eating dessert. The halibut was catch of the day & yummy. The bone in pork chop & lamb chops were beautifully plated, delicious too. Service was great. Such a nice ambiance with beautiful decor. Amazing views during the day.

Yelp
Overall this restaurant is great, but I don't need to come back. If you're coming, make sure you reserve it at a time where you can enjoy the views! Prior to coming to Mariposa, I was extremely excited about trying the steak and empanadas. The empanadas delivered, the steaks did not, which left me shocked. My girlfriends and I had a reservation for 7:30PM, we arrived at the restaurant to check in at 7:15. We were told our table would be ready shortly, so we waited at the bar. At 7:35, we went to check on our table, we were told that the people sitting at our table in the main dining room were eating desert. We then waited until 7:45, went back to check on our table, we were told they are getting another table ready for us. We didn't get the main pretty dining room, they put us to the side, which was not as gorgeous as the main dining room. When we sat, we ordered the Filet of beef, roasted potatoes, onion and queso empanadas - SO SO GOOD. Make sure you smother them in the chimichurri and pineapple, amazing. For dinner, I ordered the NY strip and the award winning Lisa's lovely lemon mashed potatoes with luscious lobster scampi, I was underwhelmed. Both truly lacked flavor. I packed them to go, so I could turn the dishes into something else at home. The chimichurri sauce is extremely needed for the steak because the steak itself lacked seasoning. I'm also very particular about my steaks, so there's that. My girlfriends ordered the pollo rustico, and that was GOOD. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, I wish I would have ordered that over my steak. My other girlfriend had the filet, and I was also underwhelmed with her steak. She liked it though. Sides to order roasted potatoes (AMAZING), elote corn (AMAZING) The triple queso mac and cheese was not good, all of us packed it up, to season it at home lol Again, nice restaurant if you're looking for a beautiful restaurant in Sedona, but the food could have had more seasoning.

Yelp
Server was nice and service was fast. The food was okay but nothing special but wasn't upset by it. Definitely worth coming to for the view.

Jasmine S.

Yelp
Visited Mariposa for my birthday and it did not disappoint. Great attention to detail when it came to service. Our waitress did a great job highlighting the menu and offering recommendations. The food was amazing. Perfect pastries for the empanadas, lamb chops glazed to perfection, buttery lobster mashed potatoes and mac and cheese that melted in your mouth and the tres leches was top tier. Thank you Mariposa for a wonderful experience.

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Sierra was an amazing server and for someone dining alone she helped me feel welcome and right at home. The food was outstanding with the perfect blend of seasonings in the Justino soup. I had the beet salad which was fresh and delicious with an interesting dressing I truly loved. The best view of the sunset on the rocks on all of Sedona!

Alyssa H.

Yelp
You need a reservation!!! Let me say that again so I can help you, you need a reservation. Do not roll up here acting brand new trying to walk in. It will not happen. This is known as one of the best restaurants in Arizona and for good reason. Everything was absolutely fantastic. We got a side as an appetizer (life hack), dinner and dessert and everything was great. The only thing that we a bit of a let down was the asparagus. Everything was so bold and flavorful and the asparagus just fell flat. What happened??? It was cooked perfectly but had zero flavor. Aside from that everything was perfect!

Michelle K.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice but the food was horrible. Service was 'okay'. We ordered the ribeye and octopus among other items after reading great reviews, but were so disappointed with the quality. The steak was not properly trimmed and there was way too much gristle. It was also improperly cooked- I asked for medium and the center was blue and rest was rare. The steak was so chewy and almost impossible to eat- far worse than your average grocery store steak. The cost of it didn't even matter, it was the pure inedible quality that was disappointing. As for the Spanish octopus, it came with just 2 small tentacles, whereas all the photos on social media and reviews had nicer pieces. Being a foodie and having gone to many fine dining restaurants before, I would not come back again, even if it was free. I am genuinely confused how others thought the food was good here?

Karina M.

Yelp
This place is all anyone talks about, and it is not over hyped. Get there early to take some photos of the view! Service was impeccable, our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Food was easy to share, and very tasty. Mashed potatoes with lobster scampi was a crowd favorite, and the churrasco and lamb were perfect. The only thing I think they could have done better is the dessert. It wasn't bad, but could have been better.

Raina A.

Yelp
Stunning restaurant in Sedona however the service was absolutely terrible. We had planned on going for a few drinks however after seeing the mid service we just got one each. Drink: Buenos Noches (their take on an espresso martini) It tasted good however at the price point I expected better presentation and glassware. Service: For 2 drinks, we waited about 15-20 minutes at the bar to order. The bartender was abrupt and rushed making our drinks.

Lakota M.

Yelp
This restaurant never fails to disappoint, they have the absolute best view in Sedona and the staff was absolutely accommodating , prompt and nice ! We had the scallops and filet and as usual with Lisa Dahl restaurants , it didn't fail to disappoint!

George U.

Yelp
Had reservations for Mariposa Latin Inspired Grille this evening with our friends Roc and Julie. Lance was our server and his knowledge of the menu and customer service were excellent. We started with the beef empanadas and they were fantastic. The smoke and mirrors crafted mezcal cocktail was excellent. Julie our friend opted for the lemon drop. We also ordered the grilled foccacia bread. For our entrees my wife had the Halibut entree, Julie had the flatsteak entree, Roc had the NY strip steak and I had the filet mignon. I also ordered the Lobster mashes potatoes. Everything was prepared and presented nicely and was quite tasty. The ambiance was also so pleasant and elegant as well. Great food, service, staff and ambiance. Highly recommended

Nina P.

Yelp
The views, the food, the service! Everything was top-notch! Must check out this place if you can only dine at one restaurant while in Sedona.

Yelp
I was planning a trip with friends to Sedona and this restaurant came highly recommended! I made reservations about a month in advance and they were so gracious to accommodate both of our parties together when we came in. Our server's name was Chloe and she was phenomenal!! She had such a great personality, she was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, amazing customer service and just a delight to have serve us! For my drink I ordered the Juniperita which was really good. I will say I felt like our drinks were shortchanged a bit because they were not filled to the top like other martini glasses usually are. For my meal I got the beef empanadas, the pork chops and the tres leches cake. I enjoyed every course of my meal. The empanadas were amazing! I loved the flaky crust and the way the filling was a blend of beef and potatoes. I ordered my pork chop medium and although I feel like it came out medium well/well done it'll it was still flavorful. I added the chimicurri to go along with it which made it excellent. I also had a side of garlic butter to enjoy with my potatoes. The tres leches was so moist and had really good flavor. I also tasted my friend's prickly pear cheesecake and it was so divine! I'd definitely come back that! We really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as well. Very beautiful lighting, which makes for a nice romantic evening with friends, family or your significant other.

CheRich R.

Yelp
We've always loved it here so much even during Covid we ordered to our home!! Food quality is definitely Back to when we first came !! We had of the pleasure of meeting this amazing Chef years ago and we have been supporting ever since!

Alissa W.

Yelp
The atmosphere is so beautiful not to mention the wonderful staff. From the moment we walked in the hostess was amazing! We had a special request for them to do a gender reveal to us, and they were on top of it so flawlessly. We just had a walk-in hand them our card with the gender, and they took care of the rest! Shout out to our amazing server Caesar, who made it extra special. The food was phenomenal. We personally love the octopus appetizer and scallop appetizer!

Kima M.

Yelp
The experience was amazing! We celebrated a birthday and anniversary and they made sure to make us feel special, with a little treat at the end. We ordered the skirt steak and roasted chicken with elote and the Mac and Cheese. The ambience was amazing and it wasn't too dark where you couldn't see the menu!

Hannah N.

Yelp
Went here today on NYE and birthday celebration for lunch had a reservation for 12:45 and I wasn't seated until 1:00. We waited another 10 minutes for a server to even speak to us. There were only 2 servers in the main room... so service was very slow. I understand it's a holiday celebration and it can be busier those days but you'd expect the restaurant to staff it adequately, and unfortunately they did not. It took another ten minutes for us to get water to the table, way too long to wait to even order. The food was OK, but nothing excellent like previous reviews of the restaurant indicated. One meal was the portabello burger, and it was terrible. The bun was burnt, and inedible. The fish tacos were good, but nothing I would reorder. The tortillas were very thin and fell apart because the fish was very wet. I ordered ice tea, and it came out not brewed at all.. tried to it order it a couple times and had to wait 45 minutes for someone to bring it to me, and it was still just brown water.. no tea flavor. The ambiance was romantic and scenic, but temperature of the room was overly hot.. they had the heat blazing hot and it's 65-70 degrees outside. Not sure if locals aren't used to the "colder" temperature but my party and I were sweating sitting in the indoor dining room it was around 75+ with the heaters on inside Also, the bathrooms were very dirty and humid. I'm not used to an upper scaled restaurant with raving reviews to have a bathroom that has trash over flowing, dirty bathroom floors, and toilets. The views were nice but safe to say I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. I'm sure there's better restaurants with nice chews.

Erica G.

Yelp
Levi was awesome and Jesse runs an amazing dining room! We love dining with you:) Drinks are always tasty and food superb!

Lexi R.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner here! The star of the night for us was the empanadas. 5/5 for those hands down. We ordered the mushroom ones. It's cooked to perfection room. The dough is soft and flaky. The octopus was tender. I'm not a big olives person so I just avoided it in the dish. The scallops were cooked well but this dish didn't stand out too much for us. The mussels were in a sauce that had a good kick to it, the perfect amount of spice. I like the chorizo and the corn in it too. The corn added a nice sweetness to cut through the spice. The filet mignon was soft, chewy without being tough. The lobster mash potatoes were fluffy and light and the lobster was delish. We ordered churros for dessert and loved the fluffiness but wish they were crispy on the outside. They were rather soft throughout. They also gave us gelato on the house with a cute little chocolate that said happy anniversary. So sweet! The inside of the restaurant is lovely! It low lit and totally caters to a perfect date night. There is a dress code that you have to abide to. The service is fantastic too. I hear the view is gorgeous but we went at night so we couldn't see the surrounding red rocks.

Greg R.

Yelp
Mariposa is the best dining experience in Sedona. The food and service is world class! As a bonus, we noticed the owner and Chef Lisa Dahl enjoying a meal with her friends and family. Chef Dahl has six restaurants in Sedona and each is amazing!

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
Our experience was both exceptional and memorable because our service was extraordinary. We had the pleasure of meeting Molly. Not only did she make some wonderful food suggestions, she was upbeat, fun and kept us laughing all night. We haven't enjoyed a dine out experience this much in a very long time. There is no doubt the restaurant is beautiful and the food/drinks are delicious and well crafted. We were lucky to have this amazing service and recommended the restaurant all week long to everyone we'd meet.

Kathryn M.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon at Mariposa! Giving 4 stars only because we made a reservation to sit on the patio and was seated inside. When asked, the hostess said the patio is not guaranteed, which seemed odd given we chose a time specifically available for patio. Was a disappointing start to our special honeymoon dinner but everything after was perfect. Food and service were outstanding! Our server, Levi, was incredibly kind and helpful. He was great at giving suggestions and checking on us but also giving us time to enjoy our meal - his timing was impeccable. We started with the goddess salad . We had the filet (so tender) and potato au gratin side. Levi brought us a wonderful gelato on the house to celebrate our honeymoon.

Saira S.

Yelp
Best fine dining restaurant in Sedona! Service is helpful and ambiance is very lively and romantic. The chicken entree is one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had! Try to reserve ahead for a good spot.

Princess D.

Yelp
Came here to kick off our honeymoon and this place was PHENOMENAL!!! Our waiter ensure we had an amazing experience and a small thing that stood out to me was that upon greeting us he asked if I had any other allergies besides shellfish (which was something i put in the notes of the reservation). While that is such a small gesture, it made me feel extremely safe and like i could trust this restaurant to honor my dietary needs. On top of the great service, the food here was absolutely delicious and the dining room was perfectly decorated. Would definitely come back!!

Sarin P.

Yelp
I have to start by saying the views at this property are amazing. I would highly recommend trying to book a reservation at or before sunset to enjoy the spectacular nature that encompasses Sedona. The ambiance inside is equally as spectacular. We were luckily seated by a window and it was a great start to our dinner. You must order the empanadas, the dough is perfect and we enjoyed the portobello mushroom fillings. We also ordered their Caesar salad, some claimed it was the best they'd had, but it was okay for me. I did enjoy the almonds that was a unique touch. For mains, we indulged in some steak. I opted for the skirt steak, which I'd recommend ordering medium. I opted for medium rare and found it to be too chewy for me. My partner enjoyed his filet mignon, which he also ordered medium rare. The elote side dish was phenomenal!! I think I could eat it with every meal! For dessert, we ordered a tres leches cake. I have mixed feelings about this because it tasted a bit stale? I wish we had opted for something different. Overall, it is worth dining here at least once when you visit Sedona. Reservations are a must for dinner. There is also plenty of parking on the property, but I would suggest carpooling to make it easier for larger parties.

Kelly G.

Yelp
First time to Sedona. YouTube suggested this place. We arrived in town on Christmas Day and I made a reservation for dinner here. No views at night obviously but the vibe inside was spectacular. The food didn't disappoint and I'm easily disappointed. My husband had the lamb and the Au gratin potatoes. To die for. I had the halibut over quinoa and black beans. I wanted MORE! Our waitress Shelly was epic. We ended up making a lunch reservation as well a few days later so we could enjoy the outdoor view. Once again, I was so impressed. The views, the service and the food. I got the Cuban sandwich and butter beans that day and again wanted MORE!!! Thanks for the memories!!

Narbe V.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance were all great here. We were able to visit during our trip to Sedona. The views are epic. Try to go during sundown and you will be in for a treat. This place has a mystical vibe to it. Lots of custom art work all throughout. Must try if you are in the area

Camille D.

Yelp
Our 2nd time at Mariposa tonight for late dinner. Impressive as always. The empanadas here are flaky, flavorful that comes with chimichurri and pineapple salsa. We tried their cocktails which were standard. For main course, I did order the fish of the day which was halibut. Perfectly cooked in my opinion and came with quinoa, corn and beans with tomato sauce. My husband ordered the NY steak 12 oz also cooked well and came with chimichurri sauce. Our friend got the Flores Del Mar which was a nice variety of seafood. Also delicious. We got the butter beans and elote on the side which we thought was just okay. The tres leches is to die for. Service was overall good. We had a reservation that was pretty late but seated earlier. Ambiance is very exquisite. The restaurant feels modern, beautifully decorated. Overall would recommend

Kelci S.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! Mariposa is nestled perfectly in the majestic mountains of Sedona. We sat outside during golden hour & it was nothing short of spectacular. Our waiter was very friendly & knowledgeable. He provided great suggestions during our visit. We started off with the beef empanadas. They were FANTASTIC with that chimichuri sauce. For dinner, I got the pescado paradiso & subbed the rice for garlic mashed potatoes. Fiance got the vaquero entree. Everything was flavorful. Our only complaint was the amount of flies that were on the patio. They did their best to combat this by putting out fly flans to keep them away. Not going to lie, it was a bit of a problem. On a brighter note - THE PRICKLY PEAR CHEESECAKE IS A MUST TRY! It may have been the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. Mariposa is definitely at the top of our recommendation list for the Sedona food scene!

Danielle B.

Yelp
I have come to this restaurant a few times while traveling to Sedona, and it is always fantastic! I appreciate the creative vegetarian dishes and sides. This time, I ordered the black beans, mashed potatoes, and elote - which were all more than enough for a meal! The black beans (frijoles) had cojita cheese on them and were tasty! We were told the mashed potatoes were featured on the Food Network, and they delivered! They had a little bit of lemon, arugula, and almond slivers, which made them different from most mashed potatoes you order at restaurants. I always love a good elote, and this one was delicious. We also ordered one of the seasonal drinks - the prickly pear margarita - and a recommended favorite - the white sangria. Both were very good! The ambiance is the best part of the experience, especially with the view! And the service is always great whenever we go. We hope to come again next time we're in Sedona.

Benjamin F.

Yelp
The last couple of times we've visited Sedona we forgot to make reservations but managers to squeeze in this time 2 weeks ahead! I would highly recommend booking ahead of time especially if you want to see the sunset The ambiance is great, it rained when we went so we were inside but the glass is huge and the view is amazing ! We were greeted by smiling faces and seated very quickly. Our server William I believe was amazing, he was super attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. We had family together and really took our time ordering a bunch of food and drinks and did not feel rushed at all. The food was awesome! Each dish carried amazing flavors! We ordered to share with the table so we could all try everything and I'm glad we did! We started with the beef empanadas and yuca fries. The empanadas were so freaking good we almost ordered more! Highly recommend! The yuca fries were cooked perfect with a perfect crunch with a softer inside and a perfect dipping sauce to go with it. In addition we got the ceviche which was Ecuadorian inspired which I am actually from Ecuador so it was cool to see that. I do have to say they did have a similar taste to some Ecuadorian ceviches I have tried We also got a salad that was delicious l, super fresh and flavorful! The meats were unbelievable! The lamb from my POV was delicious and cooked great. My mother's piece she said it wasn't as meaty as she wanted but it could have been a 1 off. The ribeye was pretty good also, I wouldn't say it was my favorite ribeye I've had but still would get it again. The cubana skirt steak was BOMB! So much flavor and cooked perfectly! The deserts we got were also delicious, the flan was super creamy and great consistency. Flan is a lot harder to make then people think so awesome work. We also got the Churros which were also to die for !!! The drinks were also delicious. I got the skinny marg and it was strong and fresh!! Overall we had a phenomenal experience and would definitely come back!

Yelp
Best in the city, I had the lamb and my partner had the filter. Both were super tender and tastes to die for. Amazing vistas and beautiful location.

Yelp
MAKE A RESERVATION This was the BEEEEST food, view and service I have experienced in a long time. The fish taco....omg, the burst of flavors are magical. The drinks are delicious and the servers are so kind and knowledgeable. They suggested dishes we may like and even took an anniversary picture for us!

Yelp
The place is nice and they are successfully pulling off a strong chic/romantic vibe. Unfortunately, they are overpriced for the quality of the food you get. Wife and I had the scallops which were way too salty (left 1 out of the 4 scallops because it was a lot), while her trout could have used more seasoning all across. Potatoes au gratin were quite heavy in and didn't feel freshly made. The yuca fries and empanadas were tasty (would get those again). Again, not bad food but for the price I would expect more.

Yelp
Exceptional views, service and food!! A must in Sedona! The filet mignon with house sauce was juicy and flavorful. The drinks were delicious as well, especially the Smokey Pear and Mariposa. Beautiful location to take photos and enjoy the sunset. 100% recommend!

Yelp
Service From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt genuinely welcome by the staff. Some who are long time residents and love their "corner office" views. Food We stayed in the bar for this first time and order the ceviche, mussels, and octopus. Everything was top tier, brought out in stages so we could savor and enjoy! Views The interior is filled with spectacular art. And the outdoor views of the Sedona red Rocks will have you believing you are viewing a painting! Such a fantastic experience from start to end! I look forward to a full dining experience in the future.

Yelp
We knew we weren't lucky enough to score a last minute sunset patio reservation so we happily stopped by for a late lunch. Beautiful view helped by fans and a mister to stay cool. Our food was delicious and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed the gringo burger. My steak sandwich was fantastic. I tasted the churros - yum. But my flan was outstanding! Happy to recommend this to anyone visiting Sedona.

Yelp
Omg, this place aaa incredible, no wonder you need reservations far in advance! We were able to get in for lunch and had a great time. As you walk up there are beautiful flowers on the patio and there is a gorgeous oversized door that opens as you approach. The inside is equally tasteful and well decorated. We sat on the covered patio and the view of the mountains is gorgeous. The rest of the experience did not disappoint, the waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful with wine pairings and the food was delicious. The salad was so delicious, I love a good chop on my greens and the rest of the ingredients came together in flavor and texture. Honestly, everything we tried was great and this would be the number one spot I would recommend in Sedona! Dress code: I do want to mention that they encourage "resort wear" and say they do not allow baseball hats or sandals but they didn't seem to always enforce it.

Yelp
It dawned on me that I failed to rate this awesome spot in Sedona from a birthday dinner I enjoyed a while back. I would love to go back again, my first experience at Mariposa was delightful. We enjoyed drinks, a steak dinner, and desert. All with the red rocks of Sedona as our focal point. The Mountain View's really give the Mariposa such great ambience. I mean, it's Sedona, anywhere you look is beautiful. Service was excellent, the food was delish, and I couldn't ask for better company.
