Maris Piper Brasserie

Had an amazing dinner at Maris Piper, the Sea bass was my personal favourite of the night along side the fennel salad. The crispy skin of the sea bass and the turnip toppings was a very unique take and one to die for. Service was friendly and professional all at the same time. This restaurant is 100% worth a visit one of the gems of Amsterdam

I visited Maris Piper recently and absolutely loved it! They have just launched a new menu and you can really taste that there is a talented Chef behind it. Everything was beautifully cooked, perfectly seasoned and full of flavour.

We had an amazing lunch here during restaurant weak. Restaurant is situated in a vibrant street and offers tasty foods.

I had an excellent experience at Maris Piper in March 2024. The steak, tartare, and ceviche were all outstanding. The service was impeccable, and the wine selection was great. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately, the chef’s table was fully booked, but we had a lovely table in the “winter garden.” While the prices are a little bit higher, they are completely justified by the quality of food and service.

If you’re looking for a fine dinning place in Amsterdam, this is a good one! All the dishes my friends and I had were great, very decent size portions, good mix of ingredients and nice presentation. The atmosphere is very relaxed but still feels sophisticated, they have a wide selection of drinks and desserts. Overall a very nice alternative to celebrate a special occasion. Overall a nice place. The atmosphere is quite nice plus the place is nicely designed on a street corner. In terms of food the starters: oysters were nicely seasoned, caviar was good quality and went well with the blinis. The tartare was a bit spicy for my taste but not a bad reinterpretation. For mains we had the beef steak with fries and the lamb. The steak was perfect done, very good taste; the lamb was also very good. The staff was very nice and welcoming; no comments at all. The service itself was very slow though, we were there for lunch and it took 2,5h for the above taking into account that we were the 3 table seated in the restaurant with 3 more walking after us.

Portion was rather small so you had to order more to have a proper meal which I find disappointing for ordering a main at a higher price to not have any sides included . Quality of food (chicken) was decent but very salty and little little sauce. Staff gave Amex experience dinner only 1 option on the menu (whereas other dining experiences always have a few and make it a nice 3 course) the worst tables and the older gentleman although passionate was also a tad arrogant. Felt like they were mostly nice to people ordering a lot and mostly drinking expensive wines where we don’t drink alcohol. Overall, overpriced for the quality and experience.

Amazing service and delicious lunch! Our waiter (who also is from America, originally) treated us so well. He gave us complimentary liquor that "tourists" don't usually get to enjoy. I loved the oysters- super fresh and meaty, as well as the onion soup. My husband enjoyed the tournado of beef. Overall, highly recommend!

Came to Maira Piper based on great reviews and walking distance from my hotel (Sir Albert). On a slightly drizzly night in Amsterdam, I am too lazy to travel far searching for a great dinner. Gladly, this is a wonderful restaurant. The reception was warm and seating was immediate on a Tuesday night. Cocktail list was limited but the Negroni was excellent. Started with a few local oysters. The taste was slightly sweet, crispy and not very briny. Next was a small plate of truffle, pecorino pasta al dente. Finally, the tournedos Rossini au foie gras medium rare was tender, juicy. A couple of wishes. 1) wine options by glasses and 2) working salt mill. Overall, a great experience and satisfying meal. Would consider to return here if I'm in the neighborhood again.

Amazing date night dinner seated at the chefs counter. Got to watch the chefs in action as they prepared a delicious 9 course meals. Definitely one of the beat I've had. I'll let the pictures do the talking because words fail to describe the taste. The pictures are a little better but you must really try on your own. All i can say is each bite was out of this world. Let your salivary glands guide you to make a reservation and make the splurge to one of Amsterdam's best!

Such a relaxed atmosphere! The food was amazing too, and very friendly people. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely go again. Thanks for a relaxing night

My family and I found this restaurant highly recommended on yelp. We went on a Friday night with no reservation, and the host was able to accommodate us right away. He said it was unlikely to walk in on a weekend night, so definitely make a reservation, we just happened to get lucky! The staff were very friendly, and our server Jeffery was unbelievable! This is a high-end dining experience and very reasonably priced. We got the oysters, artichoke appetizer, turnedos, pikeperch, cauliflower, and the rib eye. I wish I took pictures, because all of this dishes were beautifully garnished and I would recommend all of them! This is definitely a top pick in Amsterdam, and I will be visiting this place again.

Beautiful atmosphere and decor. Quiet and elegant with amazing service. Waiter was extremely knowledgeable and really good menu options. They brought bread with a special butter. I had the roasted egg plant main - yum. My friend had the Pithivier which was a pastry filled with spinach, mushrooms and feta. Delectable. The espresso martini was excellent and I tried a very nice Chardonnay.

This is a great high-end restaurant in Amsterdam. The food was exceptional and the service was excellent.

Great dining experience in Amsterdam! They were very cozy and had great décor and a lovely ambiance. There were date nights, family/friend gatherings - all felt right at home and none interrupted the other! Our server was great, very attentive and helpful when ordering to ensure we tried the best foods when we asked for recommendations. Great cocktails and energy - we enjoyed our visit, would recommend to friends and family and will be back for the bone marrow!

My partner and I were on a double date of sorts with a young professional couple from a legal conference. We were recommended this place by a chef down the street. As we got in around 8pm they were already out of turbot, so I got the last octopus (which was presented like 2 diagonally overlapping sausages) We got the bone marrow as appetizer. My partner got the lamb and I had octopus. The other couple got a steak and the crispy roasted chicken. Everything was beautifully cooked and plated, however this is definitely a splurge date type place.

Maris piper has a great ambience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the very sweet manager - Anna. She led us to our table and we had lovely appetizers. The caviar, Lemon & shallot oysters, pesto rigatoni, and scallops are AMAZING!!! Highly recommend. However our server was a bit rude. He didn't bring our dinner for over an hour. We are staying at the W and the reservation was made by them, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with the server not being very personal. We never received our main course. However I reached out to Anna, the manager, and the issue was quickly resolved. It was 11pm by the time we were still waiting for our main course entrées so we were just not hungry anymore. Anna was sweet enough to bring over a desert for our inconvenience and was extremely sweet and friendly. She really made our experience at Maris piper worth it. Will recommend this restaurant due to her! 10/10 food.

I scheduled this reservation for me and my grandmother on our last night in Amsterdam and it couldn't have been a more fantastic way to finish off. The ambience was just like any other high-class steakhouse, American or not, but the service was very personable. He did do a double-take when I ordered my wine (probably due to my inexperience as a wine-drinker) which was slightly off-putting, but not a knock that can even lose a star. The food was the best we ate in our ten days in Europe - my grandmother ordered the steak and asked for it to be cooked to the chef's preference, which was a perfect medium rare, and I ordered the truffle pasta with a side of duck-fat fries, which were also very good. The real magic came, however, during dessert, when I ordered the Baked Alaska, and it came out with a tiny pitcher of caramel, a bowl of pecans, a bowl of spiced raisins, and the best damn plate of dessert I've ever had - sweet and tangy and creamy, it was perfect. A must order.

We ate here with my parents, we loved the other restaurants from the owners guts and Breda. We found Maris to be the best one so far. We had the dutch shrimp as an appetizer so good we ordered it twice, had the chicken was tasty and also great wine list. We will be back for the chefs table.

Amazing dining experience!! The menu is very diverse and there is something creative and delicious on there for everyone. The lobster, oysters, stone crab and beef wellington are exquisite. The service is so friendly and helpful and they can give great wine recommendations based on your flavor preferences. Go here for an incredible, exclusive dinner and/or lunch and you will not be disappointed!

The best place to be.! Wonderfull choice for delicious courses. Don't miss when you are in Amsterdam. Lovely place in the summer time on the terrace. Love it!!!
