Restaurants Near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in D.C. | Eater DC

"This color-soaked corner spot from Mexico-born restaurateurs Alfredo and Jessica Solis (El Sol, Mezcalero, and Anafre) prepares a treasure trove of fresh seafood in various ways (think citrusy ceviche, whole grilled red snapper, and Puerto Nuevo-style lobster), with Latin-hopping cocktails that follow the food’s lead. Go for: A casual dinner or brunch Distance from CC: 0.3 mile" - Tim Ebner

D.C.’s Essential Seafood Restaurants | Eater DC

"Mexico-born restaurateurs Alfredo and Jessica Solis (El Sol, Mezcalero, and Anafre) gave Logan Circle a color-soaked seafood spot last year that bounces all around Latin America. Mariscos, which means “seafood” in Spanish, offers a treasure trove of fresh fish, crustaceans, and bivalves prepared raw, fried, and grilled. Made-to-order citrusy ceviches, jicama slaw-topped oyster po’boys, and other Latin dishes harken back to Alfredo Solis’s days running downtown’s Ceiba for Passion Food Hospitality." - Missy Frederick

An Argument for a Better Restaurant Brunch - Eater

"I had gotten a reservation at a place some local papers had said was one of the best new additions to the neighborhood, maybe to that city, but the only time that worked for my schedule was brunch. And with brunch potentially “being back” after a slow emergence from pandemic lockdown, who was I to skip it? The outdoor terrace was bustling with families and dates and groups of friends catching up over pitchers of mimosas, but one look at the menu and I was apprehensive. It seemed like a combination of brunch staples that had nothing to do with the Latin American seafood this restaurant normally served — French toast, omelets, a Monte Cristo sandwich — and poorly thought-out combinations of seafood and eggs." - Jaya Saxena
