Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food was delicious, the mixed ceviche and the mixed fajitas. Service 0 Star We were 4 people and the waitress only placed a basket of chips I called her to order, she told me that she was coming to the table but it took 10 minutes because she preferred to continue organizing the account books We asked for 2 additional plates to bring them along with the food and he gave us wet plates that we had to ask for napkins to dry the dishes because they only place the napkins in which they roll the cutlery. The service was poor Price Very good

Our first time coming here, walking in it appears dark, poor lighting or not all the lights on. But that's not the only reason we won't be coming back here, I was served BAD raw oysters, they smelled and tasted BAD, I ate ONE and it was at that point I realized. He ordered steak fajitas and then a fish/fries kids basket for my daughter. Food presentation, lighting, chips/salsa, and the inability to safely serve ANY kind of seafood is the reason we will NEVER be back. I don't know why Google isn't letting me upload pictures to this review, but as soon as I get it figured out I'll be uploading the pictures of the bad oysters. We STILL paid for our entire order, including the bad oysters, the ability to pay for our meal has never been a problem, what's concerning is that there is NO possible way someone in that kitchen did not KNOW these oysters were bad, just the visual appearance and smell should of indicated they were bad. The only reason I had even ONE was because I wasn't paying attention, waitress just sat it down, was talking etc. I don't know how this place has all the 5 star reviews it does. *Update* I figured out how to upload pictures, In one of the pictures I had removed the oyster off the shell to get a better picture of the shell as well. I've ate oysters many of times, love oysters and have never seen any that look as gross as these.

Delicious food and a great atmosphere. The pulpo was cooked to perfection and all the salsas were spot on. And the corn tortillas... easily some of the best I've ever had, hold well but soft on the bite with a great flavor. Service was a bit hit and miss but just get someone's attention and they will take care of you immediately. Will be back for more.

Every visit to Mariscos DJs had always been great! Love the Mariachi band. They have lots of great tasting frozen margaritas and the service is always on point. I usually get the #37 Parillada Gorjito. It has shrimp, octopus, fish & green lip mussels shelled & 1 talapia. It's enough for 2 people, but it's just as good for leftovers the next day!

Friday August 8th 2025. We received the worst service ever. My wife and daughter had to get up and go to the hostess to see if we could get a refill on our drinks. Then an hour later when we finally received our food, i told the waitress "we never received our appetizer ". She said oh they are still making it. What ? For a queso dip ??? When the rest of the table got the meals my baby daughter asked wheres my food ?The waitress forgot to order her kids meal. It was just a circus show there. When we told the manager he just brushed us off like customers dont matter. Customers service should be the #1 priority. When they run out of customers they wont have to worry about a business anymore.

What's worse is that people who arrived after us were attended to first. I got frustrated and decided to order over the phone for takeout instead. If the service improved, it could be a good place to eat. But for now, I wouldn't recommend it for dining in."

It's... OK. The seating does not feel/is not private or secluded. What I mean is it feels like they stuffed as many chairs and tables in the center area as they could to get as many people in possible, it feels like you need to squeeze by people when needing get up to use the restroom or leave. The plate I got which was a garlic shrimp type order was a bit flavorless. Maybe I should have got something else but it didn't really wow me. That being said I probably won't be back here unless someone else maybe invites me or I decide to maybe give it a second try.

It's a restaurant that could be good. But needs work and better cooking, recipes. To start, the Tamarind margarita is not worth being charged $12. Just not that good. The Green salsa served with chips is okay, but watery. Need to give a Red salsa with the chips also. Got a Shrimp cocktail as a starter. Way too sweet. Needs a better base of a good bloody Mary mix. But plenty of Shrimp given in it. I got the Shrimp & Fish soup. Was good, bit heavy on the paprika in that broth base and in the soup they put unpeeled shrimp. So had to peel shrimp as I'm eating my soup. Need to put peeled shrimp in soup. Our other dish was the Grilled Tilapia and Shrimp. Tilapia way over cooked, dry. Plus no sauce? Flavor or seasoning. Please cook bit more gentle plus put a butter cream sauce with maybe sauteed jalapeno or cilantro on it. Shrimp we're good. Just need to work on details. Now comes our biggest TexMex issue. Why does every Mexican restaurant serve Beans & Rice? How about a side of sauteed fresh vegetables instead. A little side Mexican flavored salad or coleslaw? Not that hard and be a better plate served to the customer. I'm willing to come back in a few months, see if anything has changed. I hope so. Restaurant has potential if menu items and recipes fixed, improved on.

This ain't no TexMex, Nope. It's authentic Mexican Seafood and these guys get it right. Food was perfectly seasoned, epic proportions, excellent, attentive service... 100% total satisfaction! Will go back.

Absolutely The Best Mexican Seafood around ! The atmosphere is incredible and the food is freshly made and delicious! Their special pickled slaw has this wonderful spice and makes the seafood tacos uniquely delicious! This is a great place for family dinners as well. Lots of sharing platter options. Super Delicious!

Great food! The camerones à la diabla is fantastic! The service is definitely lacking but I'd go back for this dish anytime!

The food is amazing! I went the first time and ordered the seafood soup and it was great, but the shrimp in the soup were rubbery and inedible- but the overall flavor of the soup and all of the other seafood in it made up for the shrimp! The second time we went I ordered the same thing and the shrimp were perfect! My complaint is that the service is sooooo slow!!!! The first time we went it was a table of 4 and it took TWO hours at lunch on a Friday. This time was lunch on a Saturday for a table of 4 and it took 1 1/2 hours. Which would have been totally fine if we got drink refills but the server was MIA most of the time we were sitting there.... both times.

Awful. Shrimp was so tough you couldn't cut it with a fork. Fried fish was not good either. I wanted to send it back but we just left.

I had the opportunity to go to this establishment last evening on 8-5-23, While growing up in Tyler I was kinda apprehensive about the location but once we entered I quickly realized it was far better than I thought. The atmosphere was great! The service was just as good. We had a party of 10 with 3 kids under 6. we were seated within 3 minutes of arriving. The service started out kinda slow it seems as there was a little confusion over who was responsible for the table. once that was cleared up no issues whatsoever. The food quality was amazing! The portion sizes were more than ample. The dishes were authentic and the Margaritas were awesome. If you haven't been, take the opportunity to go. I have found my new favorite place to eat in Tyler Texas!

Awesome Mexican food, margaritas and the seafood is wonderful! The staff is friendly and it has the best atmosphere in Tyler.

This is my favorite place in Tyler. The food is great, the staff are efficient and friendly, and the treat of Mariachi on Friday evenings and Sundays make this place a 10 out of 10 consistently. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

The best thing about this place...is the mariachi, it plays every Friday and Sunday. Service was very good and friendly The food.....well it was standard. I only ordered 3 things from the menu. When they have over 30 items to choose from. I will return and would also recommend it

Went too a new location today , only open one week. I really wanted too like it, but the only thing that was good there was the wait staff. I give it another try I a few weeks, hopefully they'll have the food figured out.

WOW!!! Discovered by happen chance, this is a little diamond in the rough in the heart of Tyler! I was just passing and noticed ' Taco Thursday ' specials along w frozen lime or mango margaritas! Choice of beef, chicken, fish, shrimp or shrimp and octopus tacos. I tried the shrimp and octopus taco on flour. Possibly the best taco I've ever eaten! Succulent shrimp and octopus cooked to perfection w just enough heat proportioned with just the right amount of shredded cabbage and a slice of lime on the side! To drink, I had the frozen mango margarita! A grande mix of mango heaven for a hot summer day! It was rimmed with chilie, sugar and salt .... perfection in a glass! I will be back and back and back!!!! My waiter was friendly and helpful! Wonderful colorful way to have a fantastic lunch!

Second time here and it's still awesome. We can't wait to come back and try more.

Food was good not great but they need to have menus for people. that online menu is impossible to read

Delicious tacos filled generously with fresh and flavorful fish, tender shrimps and octopus, or shrimps at a great price! You are welcome by: - free chips with an orange sauce, - a friendly and efficient staff, - a clean and colorful decor. It was free and easy to park on the parking lot.

Delicioso! Omg Yum! This place is just as good, if not better, than their partner restaurants. The salsa is spicy and wonderful, signature Don Juan queso served with toasty bread. But let me tell you about their shrimp super quesadilla!! Omg... Incredible! Hubby had his super quesadilla with fajita chicken...he said it was the best ever! Our new favorite place, not as busy as DJ on the square, but same great food and drinks!

We live an hour way and we were craving seafood and decided to go we called before heading that way! The girl that answer the phone said they don't stop serving food till 12 am since that's when it's closed and we get there at 11 pm to be exact! The bodyguard said they were closed already. Y'all mfs should really stop false advertising and change y'alls business hours!!

Dont have anything bad to say food was good and drinks were good, great price fast service.Chips and salsa were good thought the rice and beans were a little bland was looking for more bang but over all good food good service.

Try this place on 11 28 18 and wait until after the lunch rush it was nice and cozy and I had corner of the best waitress is/hostess/bartender I think I have ever head she was so very prompt and efficient and now to the food I had the combination of beef chicken shrimp and sausage fajitas because I wasn't sure which one I would like best they were all wonderful I will definitely be back this is definitely a Hidden gem If you get a chance to try it I would definitely recommend it

Don Juan's on the Square has always been my favorite Mexican food in Tyler. Marisco's DJ's has the same owners and WOW, the food is equally as good, if not better than Don Juan's. We loved everything we had! The queso was amazing, the salsas both delicious and the fajitas were outstanding! There was a mariachi band, which made for a very fun atmosphere. We will be back often!

Omg. This place. I wish I lived closer. We are from Dallas passing through and there's nothing like this place at home. The atmosphere and culture is everything. Everyone is so happy having a good time. Yes they're super busy. And it takes maybe 10 min to sit down. But they will do their best to accommodate you. The food here is fantastic. So yummy. So authentic !!!!! Would definitely stop by again without a doubt.

This is hands down the best Mexican seafood restaurant in Tyler...probably East Texas! Most everything is either good or f-ing good. The servers are really nice and they have live music too. Affordable as well

This is really a 4.5 star rating. I really love this place. Their tacos are all good but immediately fall apart. If you get tacos; order them villa style (the tortilla is flash fried)and they will not fall apart. It makes a huge difference! I have tried many things on their menu and anything that includes octopus is really great. Their octopus is tender and chewy and not fishy tasting at all as it is some places. Some of my favorites are the seafood cocktail with shrimp and octopus, mariscos tacos, their foil seafood dinner, their molcajetes. Their seafood soup is impressive and tasty but a little too spicy for me; so be forewarned; but it will warm you up the rest of the day and clear your sinuses! Their ceviche is good but a little too heavy handed with the lime. There is plenty of parking in the back and a rear entrance so don't fret if there is no where out front to park.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and at-home kind of service! If you are looking for a fun atmosphere where you can enjoy a good soccer game, have a little ceviche, and drink a cold Dos XX - DJ's is your place! A little out of the way but very worth it!

Yummmmm !! Tried this place out this past weekend, food and service was better than good so that would make it gooder ;) loved that you could choose from either menu Mexican or seafood.. so of course, had the boyfriend order from the mexi side (Don Juan's menu too btw ) and I ordered from the sea side and yasss , I then had an array to munch on .. overall the pretty girls provided fast and friendly service.. only thing the margaritas were way to sweet nothing like Don Juan's but overall I will definitely come back !

I will start by saying our waiter was very nice. We went for mariachi night. The music was great and the decorations are adorable. The atmosphere is fun. HOWEVER. That is where it ends. The food is disgusting. We were a table of 6 and ordered multiple dishes with shrimp and they were so over cooked and rubbery that you could not them. I ordered the red snapper and i could tell it had been frozen for a long time, like for what tasted like 10 months and then deep fried and it had no flavor and was strong and I couldn't eat it. I normally love snapper. My son came home and threw up. The "sausage" was a hotdog. The butter sauce on the one dish was sour and had gone bad. I can't even exaggerate. We were literally sick after eating there. Also the one drink was so watery, it was embarrassing and the other drinks besides the michelada were just so bad. No flavor and cheap watery mixes. The shrimp cocktail was ok. The wings Were ok too but nothing special and the beans were from a can. The rice had no salt and the hostess was annoyed when they didn't give us enough menus and we asked for more and and no silverware .

It was very nice decorate restaurant. Food was okay,.but most importantly the service was not pleasant. It took them an hour and a half to bring our food over because we were behind a party of 15. Which I understood after 45 minutes. But it was a long wait. Also,since my food came with tortillas and they brought me 1 tortilla. I asked for more and it never came. I kept getting told it was on its way.

Went yesterday, I'm not from tyler and used yelp. I really needed good ceviche for my husband. It was his birthday and all he wanted was ceviche. He loved it!

My wife and i went there last night, 6:00pm on a Wednesday. Very nice mexican decor. Clean, spacious and cool. Service was prompt and very friendly. We had shrimp cervichie tostados to start. The shrimp was fresh and tasty. We followed with shrimp empanadas and a seafood roast. The guacamole was excellent and the beer was ice cold. A great first visit.

The #25 with shrimp was wonderful. Authentic food. If your in the mood for seafood then try this place.

First visit Sunday night. Food was outstanding! What made it more fun was the mariachi band and the way they involved the audience. It was someone's birthday and we felt a part of the party. The service was great. Super place! Plan to go again and soon!
