Mariscos El Puerto

I've seen mixed reviews about the service but it looks like a collective effort among the staff and worked out well for us...not perfect but pretty efficient. Food was solid and atmosphere was live with TVs and live music with optional table side music.

Mariscos El Puerto is our annual tradition 🐟🍍🇲🇽 Every year, my friends and I make it a point to visit Puerto—and every time, they take great care of us. Even though they don’t take reservations, we always call ahead to let them know we’re coming with a big group, and somehow, they always manage to save us a table. Sometimes it’s packed when we arrive, but even then, we’ve never waited more than 15–20 minutes. The staff always tries their best, and you can tell they’re working hard—even when it gets hectic. The food? Always on point. I stick to my favorites: the ceviche tostada and the whole fried tilapia—both are super fresh and flavorful. One of my friends always orders the pineapple filled with seafood and rice. It’s a whole show when it hits the table, and according to him, it tastes as good as it looks. If you’re looking for a low-key, off-the-strip spot with authentic Mexican seafood, I highly recommend el puerto . It’s a hidden gem worth coming back to—year after year. 🌊🍤🌶️

The food is always great but the service is hit or miss. My family and I had a bad experience with a female server that had long black hair tied up in a braid. She had a nasty attitude. My father had an inquiry about a dish and she straight up goes "why? you didn't order that" with excessive attitude. She needs to learn how to talk to customers since that's the base of her whole job. Other than that, the service is speedy and most of the employees are welcoming.

I am very saddened about this place. We came to celebrate my mother’s 70 birthday day on Sunday 7/6. The server, she was great however, my 4 year old son got very sick after eating their chicken fingers/fries. He ate one whole chicken finger and a few fries due to oily. We dine in a little after 2pm and by 7pm my little one was throwing up and developed diarrhea and a fever by 12am. We had to take him to the hospital 7/7 and results came back positive for “norovirus”. I am demanding a refund back! We are never coming back here. Food handling caused my little one to be in pain…..

Terrible terrible terrible service ! Waited an hour with no food chips were literally all crumbs … had to ask for refill on chips after they gave us crumbs anyways. There was 4 of us and we ordered a ton of food none of which ever arrived , we got up and left . If you expect me to pay for a soda and food after that you’re crazy. I live right around the corner and will continue to drive further for better service , no matter how good the food might be not worth it AT ALL. They do not take kindly to English speakers either and served others that were seated 30 mins after us but never served us … absolutely insane they are even in business .

Man this place is a 10 out of 10. I’m going to be honest I’m not a big mariscos fan so when I first tried it I was a little hesitant because I’ve always been a steak guy man me and my brothers came and it is honestly the best mariscos I’ve ever had I tried half of the menu and let me tell you you it didn’t disappoint. This is now my go to place for mariscos! 🦞🍤 Service was amazing too Liz & Kelly are wonderful they made sure to make me feel just like home making sure to treat me and family well. 🏆👌 If you’re looking for a really chill vibe look no farther because this is a good place to relax and have good food. 😎

The food is soooo good I been here 5 times tried 5 different dishes 😋 each one had the best flavors

First time here. Other than the fact that menu was in Spanish and I couldn't read it, my meal was amazing. I ordered my go-to carne asada fries. I must say that this was world's apart from other restaurants. AMAZING!! I am definitely going back the next time I'm in that part of town. I recommend this place 110%

Great mariscos spot. Upon arriving we were able to get a seat. Our server was super upbeat and explained the menu to us. We went with a few options for the table to share. My favorite was the bacon wrapped shrimp. They also were filled with cheese. They were so tasty. Also the campechana was very good as well. Definitely would come back and try other things on the menu.

Food is ok Service is not greatest they do not disclose that you are charge gratitude automatically no wonder services is mid. 6 oysters same as 12 oysters. Be aware of fees not disclosed. By State law gratuity needs to be disclosed maybe the menu has it in miniature letter. Not worth it.

I really like this place! I've been going here for years and the quality hasn't changed. I usually go with a few people so we can get one of the platters. The platters have potatoes, peppers, onions, and your choice of meat. It's so flavorful and massive portions. Get ready to eat your face off and still get a to-go box. The restaurant is a no-frills venue but it's always clean and welcoming. Added bonus they have a mariachi singer and sometimes a band. Feels like family there.

Los mariscos más insípidos que eh probado en mi vida! Antes sabía riquísimo. Pero ya van 2 ocasiones donde no tiene NADA de sabor la comida. Incluso la misma mesera nos dijo que no nos recomendaba ciertos platillos porque ya habían varias personas que se los regresaban. Gracias por su sinceridad! Yo ordené una tostada de aguachiles la cual no tenía absolutamente nada de sabor. Tuve que pedir más lima h agregársela yo junto con más sal para poderle dar un poco de sabor. La tostada de Botana Negra sabía a pura Katsup con Soya. Horrible. Todos sabemos que este platillo debe saber rico y picante. El servicio no es tan malo pero si están muy cortos en personal. Te dan los refrescos en bote así que no te rellenan la bebida como en otros lugares. La cerveza también te la dan en bote y sabe muy diferente. El ambiente es bueno ya que tienen música y un cantante en vivo quien entretiene al pagar su cuota. Pero la comida necesita muchísimo mejoramiento. La verdad ya no regreso. The most blandest seafood I've ever had. It used to be so so good before but it's the second time I go and food is extremely bland. Even the waitress didn't recommend certain entrees because she said people had already complained. Thanks for your honesty! I ordered an aguachiles tostada. I had to add lime and salt myself to make it tasteful. The Botana Negra tostada tasted like ketchup and soy sauce. Not spicy at all and this dish is supposed to be tasteful and spicy. Service isn't as bad but they are very short staffed. They don't have fountain drinks. You'll get them in cans so there's no refills like everywhere else. Beer is also served in cans. It tastes so different. Ambiance is good as they have music and a live performer who performs as you pay for his service. Honestly, I'm never going back.

Food was delicious, and the theming of the restaurant was cute, but I wish the service matched! We were seated right away, and greeted after a few minutes. My friend asked the server her name since she didn't introduce herself, but that was okay! We each got ceviche, and I also got fish tacos. Both were so yummy, but my food came out way before my friend's so it was a little cold when I did eat. Also, my friend ordered three different ceviches but only got 2 of them. When she asked, our server seemed confused, but hadn't written anything down so she couldn't go back and check. That was a bummer, but it was more of a bummer that there wasn't much of an apology...it actually seemed like they were blaming my friend for the mix-up, which was odd. At least the food was really good to make up for the strange service!

This used to be my favorite place for mariscos. This place opened in 2012-2013 and back then you couldn't keep me out this place. Unfortunately recipes have changed and it just doesn't do it anymore. The ceviche cocido en limon had oregano... since when? . They used to chop up the shrimp and this time someone got lazy and just through whole shrimps with chopped shrimp and called it a day. It had no flavor. I doctored it up with more lime, more tajin and the table salsa they brought out. I left with the thought I will never comeback and for me that's so sad because I was in here once a week back in the day.

The food is ok been here many many times is very closed to my house ,however this time I got this horrible vibe from the waitress name yara ,she told the other server she hates me she doesn't like to serve me,I don't know why or the reason for that comment I just came here to eat not to be heated unfortunately I hear that ,I told the other server that I heard that and of course she denied with a smile I work for the industry and I hate to leave bad reviews but this time I felt offended and goin to spend my Mariscos money somewhere else never again here at Mariscos el puerto ps you guys need new friendly servers not flirty servers...

Came to try this place since we were in the area and it was recommended. Did not like this place at all. The music was too loud with a singer singing personally to the tables paying. The waitress had to yell and so did we to get the order through. Then the waitress had to come back twice to repeat the order making sure it was correct. They ended up not having what we had ordered and she asked to try other foods which I said that we came for the food that we ordered only. She then charged us $20 for 2 regular horchatas and 1 small Sierra Mist that we did not even touch since we were waiting for the food. The drinks came out more expensive then the food I was ordering. The ceviche of fish was $6.99 per tostada. It was pretty ridiculous. I will not be coming back based on this experience.

We went here the other day and the servers give horrible service they didn't ask what else we needed until they saw that we got upset. When we ordered more chips they would take long to bring it to us. We asked for the check 3 times! We paid and we needed our change back but they all faked that they didn't have change so they can keep it as their tip all of them were asking each other "do you have change?" And of course they "didn't" they know they know they give terrible service and that we weren't planning to tip so they just kept our change. It was our first and last time in that restaurant due to the servers. The only good thing in there was their mariachi. Saben chingar a la gente con la propina sin de verdad ganarsela!! Corrran a esas viejas.

Excellent service and wonderful staff my mom and I came here for her birthday and were treated so well thank you for making my moms no very special and the food is soooo bomb. Definitely stop by and enjoy a nice meal here.

Best calamari tacos and octopus tacos ever. Fun live misic. Friendly service. Really good for take out or dine in.

A must if you are visiting Las Vegas, good food and big portions. The molcajete mixto was the bomb

The food was very expensive and not up to standard. We got a molcajete that was well over 50 dollars and it came with meat that was basically just bones. We also got enchiladas and it looked like they just put hard shell tacos under sauce and called it a day. After telling the server they refired the enchiladas and gave us the same thing. After our complains the server said she couldn't do anything we had to contact the owner our self in order to get our problems solved

We came here for the oysters but left with a pallet full of all flavors. The baby octopus was amazing. I got the molcajete de mariscos!!! Amazing!!! Kelly was our server ! She was beyond great! She was on point and the service was great!!! I highly recommend this place!!!!

Very good service from the people who serve and very tasty food. I go to eat very often and I also order takeout by phone, yes I recommend them. Muy buen servicio por parte de las personas que atienden y comida muy rica. Voy a comer muy seguido y también pido comida para llevar por teléfono, si se los recomiendo.

Mariscos El Puerto has been our go to place for fresh ceviche and shrimp cocktails. We recently visited for my dad's Birthday and decided to order a charola. I thought this would be more of an appetizer but this could literally feed a small village. Think of a Mexican shrimp boil with a fried fish on the side. Everything on this tray was delicious!! We still ordered our go-to ceviche casuelita and campechana. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, this place is definitely NOT for you. El Puerto is very lively. They have live music most days and if you want to let loose in the evenings, their micheladas and amazing!

Ok seafood could be better. Service, well male waiter did not catch his name was terrible but the waitresses were very nice.

Very detailed oriented clean atmosphere very relaxing place waitresses on point can't wait to try more food took a shrimp cocktail to go and it was amazing

Muy pero muy mal servicio. Entrando se escucho decir a la mesera que estaba junto a la caja que como chingan. Estuve parada esperando que me tomaran mi orden para llevar y no más no me atendieron. Esperé más de 15 minutos parada cuando por fin me dirigieron la palabra las meseras me dijeron que estaban muy ocupadas. No pues wow... con empleados así va a progresar el negocio!!!

Delicious octopus tacos.. El mejor servicio por Lucy Buen ambiente poco ruidoso pero si te gusta la música te gusta el ambiente.

The food is mid and so is the service. We were told the shrimp trays were just like a popular restaurant in California but it really wasn't at all. We even gave them a second chance and still had no flavor. Other items might be better but we didn't live what we ordered and it was 5 of us. Place looks a little rundown.

The food is okay, I ordered a carne asada which was decent. I personally didn't like the rice or beans that come with it or the chorizo, but that's just me... I literally just ate the carne asada and had a.little bit of the other stuff, because i did not want to leave it. My mom ordered a mojarra frita, and it was way overcooked in her opinion... She ate it but, she wasn't very happy about it. Overall, it was okay but... Not a place to come back. And the napkin container was DIRTY which made us question how often they clean them and what else looks like that maybe inside the kitchen!?? I actually didn't order any seafood because i wasn't sure if it was fresh ...i rarely eat seafood at these kind of places because of that. Looking at those napkins.... I was scared lol.... Also, service was not the best, we waited about 7-10 mins before a server came to our table, and the guy who seems to be like the manager or in charge, stopped by both tables next to us and skipped us, they seemed to be regulars, but he greeted them and talk to them.... That wasn't very nice of him. Specially since the place is so small it is easy to see everything and notice what's going on around you. I mean, that's good that they have regulars, but i could be a new regular and that just made me a.little uncomfortable. Definitely not a place to come back...

I had the deep friend fish with the Diabla sauce. It was the best diabla sauce I have ever had. I'm from California and I haven't found that sauce properly made nowhere but here. The prices were good service was excellent and my server Liz was the bomb. I will definitely be returning!

I thought I had wrote a review on this place before giving it more stars than I am today. The food is great, prices are reasonable. This past Saturday their music and the man singing were extremely loud making it the experience horrible. My daughter sat next to me and my husband right in front, I couldn't hear either of them. The best part was when he stopped singing and they just played music through the speaker. His singing was not bad. But the speaker he used was!! He could have possibly adjusted it some how?! This place seems like a family restaurant not a bar. Yes, they sell plenty of alcoholic drinks but the music is so loud it's only enjoyable to those men who are on their 4th drink; heart broken checking out the workers. Will I go back? Hmm I'll probably call ahead and see how loud the place is at the time.

If you're a local or visiting, mariscos el puerto Is a must. They have the best tasting and freshest mariscos in town. The service is the best especially if waitress Lizbeth is attending to you. Can't really recommend anything since it's all delicious. But for an appetizer you must try the camarones al sushi

The food here is delicious. Like most seafood places it can be a little pricey but if you like Mariscos then this place is a must taste. The service was not the best and we spent a some time waiting for our drinks...then our food....then the check so the four stars is all based on the food itself. We waited for most of the service but the food was great. The beer I posted was one large Michelada that took me the whole meal to drink.

Would give zero stars if I could. Our party of 4 all received our food at different times. The empanadas should be classified as miniature ones. They are appetizers size at a meal price. Not only that but we asked for 3 "Campechana" to be hot. They weren't and 1 of them was also incorrectly prep. We let that slide and just order another 1to be prepared and asked for it to be hot since the others weren't. Mine you I asked 2 waiters just to double check. To my surprise it wasn't hot. everyone had to wait on me to finish eating and I wasn't even eating slow. It was due to the lateness of the food arriving to the table. Waitress would come and ask if we needed anything even though we would ask for more tosadas or sauces. They'd forget until we get another waitress to get it. So disappointing of a place. Don't recommend and will definitely not go back. Customer service lacks!

This use to be our go to place for Marisco's for the past few years. Their food use to be amazing, delicious and fresh. Recently not sure if ownership changed but tonight's order that my husband picked up for dinner was absolutely vile. My husband's favorite ceviche had the tab from a hot sauce bottle sauce in it. My husband literally had to pull that piece of plastic out of his mouth. I had been a fan of their pulpo asado but tonight it was like eating a ballon and the flavor was completely off. This makes me so sad since this was the spot we always took family and friends too. Will not be returning.

I told the hostess that I was on the Yelp waitlist and she told me they don't take reservations. I know that the waitlist is not a reservation. It may have been a Spanish language barrier.... anyhow, I was told than a table needed to be cleaned and was asked to wait outside. We were seated after a short wait. Drink order was quickly taken. The Pina Colada with alcohol was the best part of the meal. It had fresh pineapple chunks. Hence the 2 stars. All the food came as prepared so I was served my food first and waited for my bf who was brought his food way after me. I ordered the Camerones Zorreandos and the shrimp was overcooked. The beans were burnt. My bf got the langostinos con mantequilla. But... he didn't know that they were prepared deep fried and then put in butter sauce. So super greasy, oily and tough. Maybe we got a bad cook or it was a bad kitchen day. Service was quick and friendly. Our server forgot to bring extra salsa when I asked. However, It was legit busy with tables and to go orders. I don't need to go back to try other items.

The place was decent. Overall had a fun time because of the atmosphere and the guy who was Karaoking was pretty funny. The food wasn't amazing. No what you would expect from a SEAFOOD restaurant. When coming in we were not that hungry so we just ordered simple. The table ordered Calamari tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Tacos Enchilados and Shrimp Empanadas. * The Calamari Tacos were excellent (my brothers stated) he ranked those a 10/10. Best he's ever had. * The Shrimp Tacos were sad. One of my dads taco only had 3 mini shrimps and a ton of lettuce. He couldn't believe it and wouldn't let it go. We had to keep changing the subject. * Tacos Enchilados were okay. I loved the salsa they cooked them in so took the meat out and ate them that way. Portions are huge I like that. The beans and rice were amazing ! The drinks are huge portions as well ! * Shrimp Empanadas were delicious! The salsa was spicy and they had so much flavor. Definitely recommend them! We ordered the Shrimp Empanadas to go and were shocked that they came with a green salsa only because when we were there we were told they didn't have salsas. The only ones they had was the house salsa they give you with tortilla chips & the store bought ones already on the table which were tapatío, chalula, habanero. So to our surprise we were pretty confused when our to go order had salsa that wasn't those options we were told in the restaurant. Overall, based on my visit. I would only come back for the shrimp empanadas, calamari tacos & micheladas.

Ask for the grilled butterfly shrimp. Butterfly term means a shrimp cut in half and grilled on the pan. It has a toasty crunch to it. I love how hot the dish was and they give you cucumber and oranges. The dish does not come with rice and beans.

Great place, not all of the wait staff speaks English, but not to worry they will find one of them that does. Great service.

Food is awesome here! Big Bang for your buck! Plus drinks! Yessss! Seafood potions are huge. The services don't speak English well but they were nice and patient with us. Music was loud but I loved the live entertainment! Seems like the locals know what's up here, I loved hearing the laughing and singing. It's like a family gathering with folks just getting together to have a good time. Clean per COVID with social distancing and clean bathrooms!

This is THE place if you are searching for fresh ceviche in a landlocked state. We've passed this restaurant everyday for several years and never notice this diamond in the rough. The nautical decor is appropriate as their menu is seafood based. We had the shrimp ceviche and the octopus and shrimp ceviche, neither of which we could finish since the portions are NOT skimpy. Our waitress, Liz was friendly and attentive, and patiently answered all of our questions. I will definitely be back as I am anxious to try several other menu items!

My boyfriend just defined this place as our new "spot". We love the atmosphere and the food is amazing. Liz our server was spectacular. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. All around a great little gem of a restaurant.

Bad bad service. Waited over 45 minutes for our food to come and it never came. We asked waitress 3 times where our food was. And all she said is it was it was coming. However tables that cane in after us, were getting their food. And restaurant wasn't busy at all. We ended paying for our drinks and left. And all they could do was apologize. Definitely not returning there.

I was super excited to try this Place, well I asked the girl if charola was enough for 2 people she said no and compared it to the size of the menu well we ordered 1 each and it was really big enough for 3 people so we had a lot of left overs and most of it was onions and potatoes with bell peppers and it didn't taste really good so very disappointed. I ordered crab and it was good. I don't think I'll be coming back the food takes a long time to come out and honestly not enough seafood for the price. We spent $175 and it was not worth the price. Our hostess was really nice and she felt bad that the other hostess wasn't very honest about the size of the tray. They compared it to San Pedro and that's not true.
