Bomb fish tacos ! The marlon was delicious ! My husband ordered the Gobenador and it was slamming ! Love the food truck scene and the outside seating.m is really nice too. I love this truck I will continue to drive all ur way to Chula Vista for their tacos and seafood!

Such delicious food, the tacos are heaped and filling. Two are probably good enough for most. The fish tostadas are also delicious, tangy and flavorful. I will be returning for sure.

Our first fish taco street food experience, while we're on a US road trip. This was insane good. Even my girlfried, not a huge fish fan so far, fell in love with the pescado tacos. Also we got a free fish soup on top. All the guests here were also really friendly.

Food was honestly average nothing to parade about more flavor needed. The service was better from the cook than by the lady taking orders especially if her headphones weren’t in her ear and her saying “i cant hear you “

Great flavor and very big with a moderate approachable price, I must say I love how the Marlin taste so fresh and very tender as well as meat and flavorful. I will be returning here every Sunday withy family I enjoyed the experience very much.

Amazing tacos at excellent prices! I've been coming to this truck consistently for about a month or two and there isn't a place I would rather be. Every order has been fantastic, from the tacos to ceviche and birria. Come for the fish tacos. It's a decision you won't regret.

Food taste was good, I had the pulpo taco and a large shrimp cocktail, which to be honest was a bit small and expensive imo it's priced at $15! Had to eat standing, there is no seating area, they have the music way too loud, you ask something to the cashier and you gotta repeat yourself at least once for them to hear what you are saying because of how loud the music is! Kind of a joke that you gotta ask for napkins and lemon, when it's common sense those are necessary things when eating anything in the case of the napkins and also the lemon is pretty normal to add lemon to your seafood!

Trip #1 Got pescado and gobernador taco, and cameron tostado. As an added bonus we got free sopa. Pescado taco was classic Baja. First time having a gobernador and it was amazing. Like having a shrimp melt on a corn tortilla. Cameron tostado was also delicious Trip #2 Went back to the pescado taco and tried a mariscada taco. The mariscada was a whitefish seafood medly. So much seafood that it was bursting out the taco. About the size of 2 pescados. Use fork. Trip #3 Pescado taco of course and now trying the pescado ajillo and especial tostada. Pescado ajillo was grilled fish with a nice garlic sauce. Huge hit with the wife. Another free serving of the delicious sopa. Tostado especial is masssive and well worth the $15

Not trying to be a "Karen" but To be honest it was horrible.. This isn't even an aguachile ROJO. It literally tastes like CHAMOY... this didn't taste right at all. I wouldn't come back. It's like if they made tostilocos which is unexpected. No warning or anything, the sauce is straight up chamoy. To be honest I think there's New management maybe because the food used to be great but now it sucks.

This is a rating of the food only...the BEST tacos I have ever had! I had a fish taco and the flavor was perfection...the sauce was a nice mild flavor adding to the flavor of the fish and not overpowering it. The carne asada was nicely cooked with just a little crisp...loved it.

Stars go for the food TASTE, it is not bad. However, for their prices I'd strongly suggest to go to an actual welcoming restaurant where seating is not an issue. ‼BEWARE‼ CHECK YOUR PRICES, I was overcharged & they don't offer a receipt, if the total doesn't seem right, most certainly you were overcharged. Sizes are too small for their truck prices.

This is a must stop if you are hungry and in the area. Some of the best fish tacos we have ever had. Excellent prices, fresh and flavorful food. The bottled horchata, yum! Cannot say enough good things about this food truck.

The tacos here are great and I love supporting small business especially when they have something worth supporting.my wife and cousin love the regular fish tacos I like those to but I preferred the Marlin and the gobernador with the onions and peppers it's quite delicious. Every time I get the Marlin I can't tell I'm not eating beef of some sort only reason it wasn't a 5 star is they didn't have any agus fresca until I left and they got their delivery, Im petty so take that for what it's worth. I did take two regular tacos for home because they do hit.

I almost want to keep this place a secret. Who knew that just down the street from Tacos El Gordo would be my favorite Mexican seafood spot in SD! Everything was phenomenal and so reasonably priced. If you eat in person, they'll give you a small cup of soup while you're waiting. :) Pescado and camaron tacos: such a steal at $1.50 considering how perfectly cooked and flavored they were. Why go to Oscar's when you can get an even better and cheaper taco? Tostadas chacas: definitely no skimping on the quality or quantity of the shrimp, octopus, and fish. Basically a small mountain of food. Orden de birria: you could share this between 3 people. Comes with a huge container of consomme/beef and about 6 large tortillas. Spicy octopus taco: possibly my favorite taco of all time - definitely ask for this even though it's not on the menu. The octopus is an explosion of flavors and if that isn't enough, the cheese adds a bit of weight. Literally drooling just thinking about this. If you're in the area and craving some outstanding seafood, this is it!

You guys charged me $25 flat for 1 Caldo De Pescado and 3 Fish Tacos. According to your menu this costs $20-21 max with tax. When I found your business I put you on Yelp because your food is delicious. I've been your loyal customer for 7 years + but no longer.

This is fucking disgusting they don't check there tortillas watch out when you eat here they could have gave me food poisoning since now my stomach is feeling upset this is so unprofessional and they can be sued or closed because of this. The Tortillas have MOLD!!! Not cilantro I know the difference and I ate one before noticing the rest of them. I called them and they tried to say the purple cabbage is what makes the tortillas look like this and I told the lady on the phone that's she is completely absurd the tortillas would not look like what it does on the picture and also already feels and looked old. She said many other people have called about the same thing that is just disgusting that they are getting away with this and have had customers before tell them too not just myself never going back to this place.

This place was good for being in Chula Vista as a seafood truck. I know they promote seafood as their specialty but it really looked like they wanted me to know their birria was just as good. Tbh I liked their birria more than their seafood. I would recommend if you are in the area and need something good, not fast, just good, if Chula Vista had no other options for what you're craving.

$1.50 fish tacos!!! $2.50 shrimp tacos!!! Unbelievable. This taco truck is always jumping. These tacos are the bomb!!! The fish tacos are fried fresh white fish topped with fresh cut cabbage, and pico. The chipotle sauce is extraordinary packed with flavor and it adds a power punch to your taco. There flavorful hot sauces add an additional taste profile to their menu items. They offer a cup of free seafood broth with every order, which is a marvelous. Warm, robust seafood flavor profile. And it's free!! Definitely a must go to lunch stop for me.

Got 2 (fish) pescado tacos y ceviche de (shrimp) camaron which can use more camaron in it but overall it was good, might come back for the fish tacos if I was in the area. Great prices; Soup was good Lady was nice Clean Jamaica was in a bottle that was good Thanks

When our order was ready, we realized that they weren't as big, but thinking, seafood is expensive now, we decided to overlook that. Boy, let me tell you, we could literally count the pieces of shrimp(5) in those tostadas. I mean, if we had wanted a cucumber, tomato tostada, we would've ordered it. We will never come here again. I mean, please, if we are willing to pay that amount for a shrimp tostada, please put some shrimp on it. I wish I had taken a pic. We ended up throwing them away.

They take way too long on orders. It was ok before, but now it's ridiculous. The food is not worth the wait. I guess only when there are zero customers, but not if there's customers, for they slow down to the point that some customers start asking for refunds for taking too long on orders. Don't get me wrong, the food is good, but the wait isn't.

Fast service. Flavor is good. All the food has good flavor. Fish tacos are bomb...nice n hot..fresh. aguachile has a bomb flavor. Birria is flavorful. Everything iv tried hasnt disappointed.

Great mariscos, takes a minute to get made(So dont come when ur in a rush) but worth it for quality fresh hot food.

This place is top notch. Whether its Fish Tacos, Shrimp Ceviche or Birria, it is all especially delicious. I still have yet to find a place that can match the quality for the price of these mentioned items off their menu. I stopped looking altogether because this place to me is the best. And it's close to my home.

This is now my fav Food Truck in the Southbay & I've tried them all! The prices are very reasonable probably the best I've seen. They sell mariscos but also tacos De Birria & orders of Chicharon. And they take credit card which is a big plus cuz a lot of Food Trucks don't. Their mariscos are very good I got a Tostada De Campechana & it was on point & only $5! It was big enough to make 2 big tostadas out of it. Their cold cocktails are very good as well & the prices are great! Example there Campechana Cocktail (it's a mix cocktail with all the seafood in it) a large is only $12 when in other places I've seen it $16! Their Birria taco (get the big one) is amazing I was really impress, it was juicy & filling. The best deal here is the fish taco it's only $1 & it's very good & always fresh & don't forget to ask for you're free consume. They have a cold cocktail called "VIAGRA", well I'm getting that next time on a late evening so I can go straight home & let my wife also enjoy the cocktail as well if you know what I mean :)))) Yes it might take a bit longer but the cook guy is very friendly & the food is great & the prices are great. The only problem is the lady taking you're order seems a bit sour & probably needs a hug, she's not very friendly but the cooks personality makes up for it he's real nice & hooks up you're order pretty good. The parking is a little crazy but well worth it & just try to come before 5pm. I will be coming back for sure this place was a big hit for me & my father in law! Big fans of this place we are (in my Yoda voice).

Still great food but have been fooled twice. Hours say its open until 6pm but when i got there, they were yelling that they were closed at 5pm. Change your damn hours if you're going to still be blasting your music and having tables & sauces out. Prices has gone up. They just updated their menu. Prices are now $1.50 for a fish taco. Still a great price but STILL.

Nom! Wow those were tasty tacos. Word of warning - this are not small street style tacos. These are substantial, dense tacos that are going to stick to your ribs. Fish, pulpo, mar y tierra - all super good.

Normally i get Tostada Especial some type of seafood taco- Culichi or Mixta and their clamatos with sea food are amazing Beats going to a restaurant...plus Lady there is super nice and leaves open tab since she knows i constantly order. Im going again today !

So it's been a while since I had a good cocktail. Back in the day it was a ritual every Saturday seafood cocktail hmmm. So my little girl and I where on a father daughter adventure we ended up in Chula Vista some how and I had a craving for a seafood - cocktail. I yelped and this place showed some promise after reading reviews. At first glance when arriving I was like what a roach coach a couple tables maybe 4 out side with a couple tents parking sucks but managed to find a spot and so I said what the hell let's give it a shot I walked up to the window to order 1 campechana 1 shrimp cocktail and two fish tacos it took the team of three in the roach coach a good 30 minutes to call my order by this time my baby girl was a little aggravated so I had them box it up to go when I got home I was pretty amazed the cocktails where pretty good but the fish tacos where awesome. All in all not a bad spot.

It's still the best seafood tacos I've had in San Diego. Tried the El Primo #1 this time which includes shrimp and Marlin and a whole lot of stuff. Tastes charred with delicious smoky flavor in a thicker grilled corn tortilla... Almost ham like, but not. Salty but Hecka good. El Primo #2 comes with octopus. Grilled fish still good, fried fish still super crispy. I took my friend to El Gordo for his meat tacos, but he was totally diggin the seafood tacos at This place much more. Aguachile Fresca is bomb here too. Love the tacos here. Gem of a spot, and not as well rated, likely because it's out of the way. Park in residential streets. I still can't believe they take Amex.

This was my first time coming to this food truck and I'll definitely be back. I got some fish tacos to go and they were delicious, the wait was short, AND not to mention they're only $1.50 each!

From the formerly best seafood restaurant in Tijuana, the now extinct "Mariscos El Fili", those that know what I'm talking about will recognize this food truck now in Chula Vista for a couple of years. Without a doubt this is the best "Mariscos" restaurant/truck in all of San Diego County, probably in Southern California. I am so glad they continued the legacy and flavor of the great Tijuana restaurant, and kept the prices very affordable. I do not like recommending Mexican food places to friends and co-workers on the U.S. side because I'm very disappointed with the variety and authenticity of the food (don't get me started on anything ending in "-bertos" or called "Taco Shop"), but with "La Carreta del Fili", I actually feel confident bringing people because they will love it. I'm a sucker for fish tacos, and they are awesome, but their tostadas and other items from their menu are incredible. You won't regret it!

My honest opinion of this place is that the flavor isn't there. Many years ago a good friend told me about their fish tacos. My husband and I finally made it here. He had a shrimp tostada. Good portion but not very flavorful. The birria is NOT GOOD... doesn't taste like birria at all. Their fish tacos have a lot of breading and not very flavorful. The people that take your order and give you your food are very nice. They do need to clean the bottles of salsa and condiments. You touch them and they feel nasty. Their consome is good. They have a good variety of drinks.

The best. The birria queso taco is impecable. The gobernador is also super good. They are really friendly and have great customer service. You honestly can't go wrong with anything. Boom !

Can't beat the fish or shrimp tacos and the tostadas are delicious. Best around. They consistently are forced to stay open after hours to cater to the peoples need. Quality is top notch and the portions are generous. Don't get cut in line here, people will cut you and the people who run things don't know with the amount of folks coming through.

I know their name says "mariscos" but the real treat here is the birria. I came in on a rainy day in December, when I finally found parking and came to their seating area I realized pretty soon how popular they were. The area was packed and people seemed to be having a good time enjoying their meals. I took a look at the menu and decided to get the following: -Broth: a real highlight! -tostada de aguachile: really, really good! Perfect amount of heat and the shrimp were really fresh. -quesadilla de birria :it was delicious! I had one them and combined with the rest of my meal,I was pretty full but it was so good I was very tempted to get a second one. I didn't just because my company settled with their original order and I didn't want to seem like a fat ass, but shoot! I wish I had! Next time, I won't care and I'll get at least three! This is place is great! Coming back soon.

The tacos is great, but is a little salty and they forgot one taco of my to go order. Just make sure that your order is ok before you leave.

This place is awesome! I come here at least once a week and get gobernador taco and birriqueso! My boyfriend gets the ceviche and everything is super delicious and frag. Time can vary if it's busy so make sure you come with time. Staff is very friendly! I highly recommend!!

Disappointed with my $15 shrimp cocktail during my 1/17/20 visit. Mostly cocktail juice with very little shrimp. The value for the money is not justified at all.
