Excellent. As an east coast person looking for some good Mexican food, I’m glad we happened upon this place. My Southern California friend said it was great authentic fare. I thought it was fantastic. The staff was kind and helpful as well.

My husband was told about this place from a co worker. The food was good, the service could have been better. The lady that sat us wasn't nice. However the gentleman who took our order was nice. I would recommend this place especially for the food.

Their oysters are fire, and you can order a 32oz beer in a bottle just like Baja.

Seafood was AMAZING. See photos. The Mariscos (seafood) appetizer was HUGE, literally could be a meal for 3-4 people! We had entrées first and then the appetizer arrived and so then we stuffed our faces LOL. Other dishes were very good too, but they definitely excel in the seafood dishes. Very Baja! Also enjoyed the fresh Jarritos fruit sodas. We ate on the patio but not a lot of tables due to social distancing so go early or later then normal meal hours.

Amazing! We ate fried fish (snapper) and it was great! I totally recommend this place for Mexican families that are craving for good seafood! The place is clean and the price was accesible!

Came here on a Saturday on Memorial Day weekend. We arrived around 3pm right after the lunch rush because there were several tables that had not been cleaned. It also took 20 minutes before we got our menus or any water. That being said, I believe they were busy and probably down a person or two in staff. The food is still outstanding. The Parillada is basically steak, chicken & shrimp sizzling fajitas and comes with tortillas, and another plate of beans, rice & a salad. Combined with the complimentary chips & salsa, this is a TON of food for $23. And it's absolutely delicious. We also got the shrimp aguachiles (small), which comes with 6 butterflied shrimp. They use serrano peppers in the citrus broth which is spicier than you can imagine. One of, if not the hottest, dish in Oceanside. Bring some ice-cream for your mouth. My wife didn't like the Chile Relleno plate too much. This is surprising because most of their food is really amazing. Will be back again and again.

Great little mxn restaurant here in Oside. Highly recommend the fish ceviche tostada! Great value and even better tasting! Very authentic.

We got a flat tire and pulled into the restaurant's parking lot. Since the tow truck was going to take a while we decided to stop in for a bite. Glad we did. I had a mango Margarita and we ordered some asada nachos. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised it was very good. What stood out to me was they did not hold back on the meat. Good food and good portions.

Great food and service. First time for our party of six, our server was patient and very helpful in describing the menu items. Definitely going back.

We usually love this place, but Saturday night was a huge disappointment. We were six people and we really should have walked in & walked right out. They had a guy singing karaoke & the music was cranked so loud we couldn't hold a conversation, even though we sat at a table furthest away from the speaker. The guy was also not a very good singer.... Usually the food is impeccable, but the kitchen seemed a bit off. Chips & salsa are always good, especially if you use their house made green salsa which is nicely spicy. Fish tacos are great w/a nicely fried chunk of fish. The kitchen sent out a cheese enchilada instead of a beef enchilada on a combo plate & it took forever to get the replacement. The chicken taco plate was also lackluster & it's usually very good. Their octopus ceviche is always excellent & the combo fajita dish was also good, Do NOT waste your money on their strawberry margarita ($15) It's waaaay too sweet- think they use strawberry syrup instead of fresh strawberries & you can't even taste the tequila. Tried to fix it with a shot of tequila, but that was a waste of another $10. Soooo .. some of the food was off, the music was painful (my husband actually tried stuffing pieces of napkin in his ears & I found earplugs in my purse & used them). The waitstaff there is also usually good, but it seemed like there were only two ladies working, so service was slower than usual too. Hopefully, this was an anomaly as this is usually our go-to Mexican restaurant.

Mariscos Huatulco is a hole in the wall located off Mission Ave in Oceanside. Very colorful inside. Lots of food options. Ordered some chips and salsa. Chips were slightly stale but I give it a pass because I usually eat all the chips before my entree, which spoils my appetite. Ordered the shrimp quesadilla. Was yummy. Large portion for a decent price ($12.99). Did not skimp on the shrimp either, which I appreciated. Able to take half home and eat it for dinner. My friend ordered the taco which looked delicious as well. Service could have been more lively but it wasn't terrible. She does her job and checks in. Would eat here again to try other options w that expectation.

Went there for a manager dinner .... Let's start by saying we will be back! Great food well served! Dishes were big and very fulfilling! The service was great and fast! Ice cold beer served also! Our server Sandra was amazing! The ambient was clean and had some good music to go along. We will be back!

The server was pleasant and attentive we didn't wait too long for our order the food was good. Has lots of seating and the ambiance was good decorated n Spanish music playing. The portions were good.

Food was amazing !! I ordered the carne asada plate and wow it did not disappoint. It had a smoky juicy flavor to it and was sad when i got to the final bite . Food was very filling that I was able to take some to go. I recommend ordering this plate if you're indecisive about what to order. As for the service , the workers were very kind and i liked how the place was decorated . If this restaurant was inna more busier area I feel like it would get more business because i was surprised why it wasn't more full of people. Will be coming here again, thank you!!

The mariscada plate with. Ceviche shrimp, oyster is the best value for a tastes of field ferment foods. My family enjoyed the margaritas as well as the fish tacos, Baja style. Although there was one server available, the waiting time is worth the food you are eating.i always return to this spot for the best seafood, thank you to the chef for all the time and effort they place on the food. We will continue coming back.

Not professional, customer service was bad. Had dirty tables and when asked if they could clean a booth lady got upset and said just sit in a small table. Took me having to tell another waiter to sit in booth. He told waitress to clean up the booth. All waitresses were rude after we sat. No one ever checked on us. Food was not that great. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Old shrimp in my to go agua chilles. Won't be back. Got a bean and cheese and it was dry and I threw that out too

Ceviche was very good and very unique. We came back the next day and I had chili verde & we had ceviche again. Affordable and delicious. It's the same place!

Food was excellent. Ordered the botana huatuloco and Carne asada tacos. Great service and the food, mariscos was perfect. Next time we are in the area, definitely coming again.

It might not look like much when you drive by, but this is the spot! Anytime I get a craving for some ceviche this is my go to! I also really enjoy their enchiladas with rice and beans. They have huge portions and everything is super fresh! The full sized mix ceviche is bomb. It's enough for about 4 people to share! The mini ceviche is perfect as a little appetizer before your meal. The enchiladas come with either red or green sauce which are both choices are amazing! The service is excellent and the prices are great! If you're in the neighborhood stop in!

Aahhh so this little hidden gem is in the mid valley of Oceanside next to a wonderfully shady bar that I like to frequent and other random business. I'll be honest I've only really had their mariscos, so I couldn't tell you about their burritos and regular Mexican food, but damn.... The ceviche - fish, shrimp or mixed has never ever let me down. The plates are always big and seafood seems fresh. The Costa Azul - well who the hell doesn't like bacon wrapped shrimp!! Comes with rice and beans, tortillas and a small salad. It's good! Mojarra Frita - if you dare eat a whole fried fish this thing did not disappoint. Love this one here and at some of my Asian spots. A great little place to get some mariscos with good service and food.

This place is so nasty got the aguachiles and shrimp tacos spit out everything. Never again!!!

No, just no... lady ar front taking my order was very sweet however she charged me for more food that i had ordered and yes i got the food as well, not sure if she got confused or simply just sold me extra shit. Camrones cucarachas were just not good at all.. they are not even fried they are steamed cooked. I was like, aren't these supposed to be fried ? She said no, you didn't read the menu there's cucarachas and there's ones that say deep fried shrimp. Deep fried cost more. I was like wtf... we tried one and threw the rest away... that's how bad they were. I ordered 4 tacos in total, i was charged for 8 and given 8. I told her the taco order like 4 times. Still didn't get it right. Carne asada torta was not the business.. tacos de carnitas looked as if meat had been sitting there for days and they finally sold a carnitas taco. We didn't eat it. Adobada taco... yeah, enough said. Carne asada was ok. Plate with 4 tacos looked like i had bought a cebolla and cilantro salad with tortillas.... I did however love the flavor and crisp sound of the canned coke soda i got there ! Very nice and cold ! Best item on the menu for sure. Save your time and money, there's way better places to go eat.

Serivce is atrocious - especially from the short older lady with the pulled back hair. My young son burned his tongue on the table salsa and we asked the waitress for water. She just stood there lile a robot wanting to take our order. I said we need water now. She left the table and started talking to another employee in the back. 5 mins later I walk up to the front counter and say DISCULPE NECESITAMOS UN BASO DE AGUA. She said ok. And then started to ring up a customer's bill at the register I spoke to her in both English and Spanish. She didn't care and did what she wanted. Our whole family got up from our table and walked out. If a business doesn't give a crap about it's customers, why should we patron said business. Evidently many others on Yelp have experienced the same, terrible service from this place. Shame too. This place did look pretty good. Oh well. Hopefully the owner will pay attention to the complaints and get rid of her.

I have been coming here for years. The food is good, the service is okay but what recently upset me is discovering the increase in price on the receipt vs the menu! I understand the increase in prices but invest in updating the menus to be completely transparent and not deceiving.

Very good place! I love the combination plates but most of all the sweet staff. I love the combination plate and the size of the food is well GORDO! Haha but worth it though!

The chipotle sauce was inedible. Smelled and tasted absolutely rancid. The margarita was terrible. The place itself smelled nice and the service was fine. I'm shocked at some of the high ratings.

Stopped here for lunch with my cousins. They said it would be good and it didn't disappoint! It's not the best things you have ever had but it's pretty good. I ordered the brochetas de camarón. I wish it had been grilled a little better. Still very tasty. I just prefer some good grill marks. Ceviche was on point! So delicious! Very fresh. Best thing I tried. Quesadillas de camarón we very tasty too. Chips and salsa are decent. Nothing special. I had a margarita. It was very good, couldn't taste the alcohol but you could feel it

Service was good for a hole in the wall the waitress was very polite despite our claims to the fish we ordered being strong taste... (Medio pasado) possible not as fresh as she claimed it to be. Eat with caution .

Seriously one of the best Mexi spots in all N County. Don't pass by this place w/o checking it out. Great beer selection, food is tasty. You know you're in the right place when you're the only guero (cool white guy) in there. Oh...and they have 40s

We were visiting from Michigan and really wanted an authentic Mexican dinner. Our hotel staff recommended Mariscos Huatulco. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our meal and the service was great! I ordered the chile verde pork and the dinner came with homemade flour tortillas. My companion, who is half Mexican said the rice reminded him of his long past mother's dish. He ordered shrimp tostadas. We both loved our meal and hope to return next time we visit Oceanside

Went to this place with my husband. The waitress refused to look at me when I tried to order and would only look at and speak to my husband in Spanish. She did not even know what kind of fish the fish tacos were made of. We got up and left and went to Frida's Taco's instead which was delicious and the employees knew the meaning of simple customer service.

The food was really good plus authentic. Me and my BF had ceviche, tostada with shrimp, a shrimp cocktail plus the restaurant gave corn chips with salsa we had another plate as well but I don't remember the name of plate but I was also really good and we both really liked it especially in this hot weather the ceviche was really delicious , I have nothing really bad to complain about this restaurant. The restaurant service was amazing and the staff was nice.

Rubbery seafood and over priced. First time here. Wanted to go to Mariscos Ensenada. Customer service wasn't great. Employee never came back after giving us our food to ask if we needed anything or offer more water or a refill on my soda. The medium size shrimp cocktail was in a small sunday cup. was $13.99 plus tax! Wasn't even loaded with avocado tomato or cilantro. Very plain. My husband's cocktail campechana had rubbery pulpo (octopus) and was served with one oyster on the side and it was warm. The cocktails weren't cold or fresh. His was $18.99!! Wasn't loaded with avocado or variety of seafood as it should be. We also orders the fish fillet. Picture shows a slab fillet. We were served one and a half small frozen tilapia filet. Beans weren't fresh and rice was bland no flavor. Extremely disappointing. Wasn't expecting it to be exactly like mariscos Ensenada but didn't expect it to be this horrible either, especially with a 4.2 rating on Google. Other customers were loud and obnoxious. Others were just families trying to enjoy dinner. Definitely not coming back. Would like my money back to be honest. ______________________________________________ Mariscos gomosos y caros. No estaba cargado de aguacate o variedad de mariscos como debería ser. También pedimos el filete de pescado. La imagen muestra un filete grande. Nos sirvieron un pequeño filete y medio . Los frijoles no estaban frescos y el arroz no tenía sabor. Extremadamente decepcionante. No esperaba que fuera exactamente como los mariscos Ensenada, pero tampoco esperaba que fuera tan horrible, especialmente con una calificación de 4.2 en Google. Ceviche was great! The price was reasonable! And the staff was friendly. It was a little tucked away in a shopping center, but if you want ceviche, i can attest that it was really good.

Stopped there by chance. My general rule of thumb is to order the simplest dish when at a new restaurant. Ordered the Carne Asada plate and I wasn't disappointed. The beef was tender, juicy, and there was a generous amount. Service was great from seating, taking the orders, refilling drinks, etc. I'll definitely return there when I'm in the area again.

This is my third or fourth time coming to this restaurant. Never disappointed! Authentic Mexican food.

It's alright. It does the trick with the basics. The tacos, mariscos, micheladas etc. Maybe I expected too much from it but it wasn't bad. The staff was friendly and the michelada was fine. They gave me free chips and salsa on the wait for my food. The staff made it a positive experience.

Food is delicious. But terrible service. I asked for an extra drink nobody respond me, I went to the front asking for it, same . That group of waitress women aren't good at all.

Was just here last night with family , the food is very tasteful and good portions.friendly and attentive waitress , will definitely come back . Fridays nights is karaoke so expect it to be loud , we don't mind it , because the margaronas were kicking in

Favorite Marisco spot ever! The food and the service is amazing! They make you feel very welcomed and the owner walks around and speaks to the customers, he even remembers the customers by name. If you are looking for a good Mariscos spot this is it. My go to plates are the aguachiles or the ceviche plate, and they go great with a michelada! Yummy!

Went there a few times. Loved it. There food was so good. We went in yesterday and ordered Take Out. The lady that's always there was nice. I asked to use the restroom. Walking down the hallway it smelled like a sewer. It made me gag. Got into the ladies room and there we at least 5 cockroaches. I decided not to pee. There was mold everywhere and the toilet didn't even have a top on the tank. As I was exiting the long hallway my husband was sitting there and he jumped because a huge rat scurrying across the floor startled him. We already paid 59 buck for 2 taco combo and 2 burritos. We just left. She saw what we saw and tried to call us back. We will take the loss I. Money but I want everyone to be advised. They used to be so good.

We love this place. The seafood is the bomb, aguachiles, shrimp cocktail, and fish tacos. The drinks are delicious the micheladas and agua Fresca!! The services is great the employees are friendly. You should check it out!!

Mariscos Huatulco has the best shrimp ceviche! My husband and I have had it a handful of times now, and it never disappoints. It is so good, so fresh and filling! We will definitely be back and I'm excited to try other menu items.

I do not recommend this. The food has no seasoning and the vibe here was just lame. I recommend going to "el rinconcito" in vista instead
