This food was amazing! Fast and friendly service ,clean area , and music was on point! Again like I said, the food was amazing. Definitely a must.

Amazing experience at a small restaurant with great seafood. I enjoyed both the cold and hot main dishes. The Tamarindo margarita was delicious! 😋 Reservations are available online.

Had the daily special. I liked the beans more than the rice. The fish was a little dry. There are a lot of restaurants nearby so I will try another one. It's close to grocery outlet -- my fave store.

You should totally come try it here. Best seafood, the fish tacos and the mango tostada are so delicious. Abigail does great service and is very nice.

This is my favorite spot. Ceviche+ fish taco every Friday. Never disappoints. Staff is great. Dixie runs a very tight ship, very good service!

A client of mine in South Gate sent me here for horchata. Yes, she told me that this place has the "best horchata" that she would drive 15 minutes from South Gate to Downey. She told me that they grind the rice and canela for their horchata here. The place was busy for being around 4 pm on a Friday for their happy hour deals on alcoholic beverages. My client also told me to try their fish tacos which are only 99 cents on Tuesdays and Fridays. It might be good to call if you're after this fish taco deal as I am not sure if they have this all the time. This is the first time fish tacos were served at room temperature. After I ordered at the counter, I went to the restroom, waited to use it. When I finished using the restroom, the fish tacos came out straight away from the kitchen with my horchata, side of chips, and salsa. I took one bite and it was room temperature and it didn't seem to come straight out of the fryer. Maybe it sat for a while I was waiting to use the restroom? It was a solid tasting fish taco if it was hot. I don't know if I can knock them for room temperature fish tacos because I went to the restroom and had to wait to use it because there were two girls inside it. The place has a party vibe because of the alcoholic beverages and the loud reggaeton music. Go for their horchata, party vibes, happy hour drinks, and if you're lucky....fresh out of the fryer fish tacos for 99 cents (when they have this deal on Tuesdays and Fridays).

fish Tacos .99 cents are back on Tuesday. The portion you get is good for .99 cents but not for regular price. Didn't like the can sodas only. They have lunch specials that look good and a good happy hour. Salsa and chips are good. The ladies were helpful. Sat outside. It was good weather so it was nice.

The food is either bland or too salty. Im sorry but for the price youd expect the food to taste better or to have a bigger portion. The portions are small. Theres better places, I wont be coming back it definitely did not meet my expectations. We got a mojarra and it was so bland I dont understand how they can mess that up lol. Service wasnt bad but the girls should smile more or have more hospitality. And its really cold inside so go warm lol

ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE MANGO CEVICHE 10/10 so flavorful it was perfect. :) The service was great the waitresses are very nice. And the decor is pretty simple and chill.

They have some great food here. Camrones a la Diabla are super spicy. One complaint is the micheladas suck. They don't taste good but the food does. Also other mixed drinks that are on the menu are pretty good. Service is pretty standard. And the ambiance is pretty chill for a brunch at noon.

The service is excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The marisco's ordered were delicious. The downfall was that the DJ was extremely loud. I could barely hear the conversations I was having. The music was so loud it felt like I was at a club.

Parking is tight. Our Server was nice as we were greeted once drinks were served she was long gone for about 25 mins.. she was nice but very inattentive. Our food was served as accordingly. Food is good.. nothing really stood out.the Michilada flight was good to choose from but also we had ask the server which was which since it was just dropped at our table then left. Overall this is an ok outdoor/indoor restaurant.. my odds of coming BK are slim But thank you t .

Been here twice already, both times, it was a must to get the bacon wrapped shrimp (appetizer), it comes with a chipotle sauce and they sit on a very delicious salad. I've tried the mojarra and that is definitely good, the asada fries were good also, the side guacamole plate is very good. A couple of beers (Modelo). It's a nice place to definitely check out.

Great spot I was introduced to this weekend! First and foremost, our server, Abigail, was awesome. I liked this place so much I came the following day, Labor Day, just to have their huevos con chorizo and their delicious michelada one more time. Not to mention their salsa, whether it be the one that comes with their chips or the habanero offered upon request, made the meal that much better. There are also specials almost every day of the week. This is definitely a must-try, especially on the weekend for brunch with there being a DJ . It's a vibe, for sure.

The fish tacos gave me extremely severe food poisoning from this Mariscos La Chula restaurant in Downey. It is incredibly vital that the establishment knows there was a problem because it could be that staff needs more training or it's a sign that someone isn't maintaining the hygiene and food safety standards. This is the second and the only time I got food poisoning here. It was such a terrible experience and of course I will never return to this restaurant.

The food was so good and the drinks were so good! Dj just had the music poppin! Our waitress was so sweet and she was quick with our drinks, the mango miche was my fave and the Santa boot!

Came in on a Friday evening. There was no wait time for a party of three. There is seating inside and outside and we chose to sit inside. The host and servers here were very friendly and attentive. Our party ordered chicken tacos, Al pastor tacos, asada plate, and chicken strips. The food came out within around 10-15 mins after we ordered which was pretty fast. Unfortunately the asada was thin and dry also not well seasoned. The tacos were good, no complaints about those. The chicken strips were not cooked right. I'm not sure if it was batter from the fried coating but it was very doughy and slimy inside.. unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Hmmm, came to check this place out for breakfast at 10 am, asked if they could turn down music (too loud) was told "they don't have access to do that?!?" - don't mind music but not blasting at 10 am!!! Wanted to sit in patio but no heaters! We were only ones there! Host didn't seem to care or make any accommodations to make us feel welcomed!!

This place is sooooo bomb. The food is tasty, portions are huge, and service is nice!!! Abigail took care of us and made sure we got everything we need. I would come back because of her amazing service. It is also very spacious and they play music the whole time. I had so much fun with my girls.

Absolutely the most amazing experience from the staff to the food. The portion of food is huge definitely worth your dollar. They were so accommodating to help celebrate my sisters birthday they put las mañanitas and brought out a shot. The whole experience was amazing. Only complaint. Is the margaritas were not good tasted like fruit punch. In closing the ambiance was cute . Loved it!!!!!

Came here for my friends birthday and it was really good. I got the aguachiles with callo de acha and the sauce was super delicious. The tamarindo michelada is one of the best ones I've had.

I love coming here for Taco Tuesday. They have the best mango ceviche in Downey. The drinks are strong and they play reggaeton which is always a plus, it brings out the cool vibe of the restaurant. The ladies that serve us are always so sweet!

I love this place. The seafood is fresh and the drinks are very tasty. I especially like their fish tacos because they're very fresh and tasty.. I've tried just about everything and their Mexican food is very authentic. The ambience is very pleasant and the food surfers are very friendly. I highly recommend this place for seafood and Mexican food and great drinks.

First time here celebrating my wife's bday. Came with the family. Coming with a party of 8 and never being here, we needed some help on ordering. I give a BIG shout out to our waitress Dammaris!! Without her, it would have been chaos she helped us order, made recommendations, helped us at the table, and didn't miss a beat. had a good attitude and was attentive to us. The "mango habanero agua chiles" was fire!

I'm in the middle for this place. Good food & drinks, service in the middle. We came for happy hour. Our first waitress was new & clearly didn't know how everything worked. Two of us did the Yelp check in (check in & get a free michelada w| the purchase of a tostada) and each got a tostada. She said it was fine for us to do but when our new server came she said no one per table. There's no fine print that says that and we were already told yes. That was kind of annoying. We also got happy hour mango micheladas they came with slices of mango. When we ordered them from our new server they did not come with them so we asked. She said, "they don't come with mango" but we literally just had some that did so we told her. She responded that it depends on who makes them then said you just got the happy hour micheladas so they don't come with them. We were there forever and got to see it get busy. Our server defiantly got overwhelmed. The mango tostada was bomb! They do have a great happy hour. I'd be back for. $6 mango micheladas, $5 micheladas, $3 margaritas. Even the food had specials. We got the Mojarra plate with rice & beans for $9.99 They made it a trendy, girly & cute place. Instagram worthy. The music is good too. Lots of reggaeton playing.

Mariscos and music sign me up. Came for brunch on a Saturday afternoon and the place was lively. Clean and charming restaurant. The dj was playing all the hits at just the right decibels. The drinks are wine based but solid. Amazing Michelada's and daily food specials. The service was friendly and fast. Our waitress Aby was very helpful Loved their patio. It's conveniently located with many other dining options. It's kid friendly. We really enjoyed our experience. The chorizo with egg was delicious. Also shared tater tots which we loved. My wife ordered two sangria pitchers. Good deal and perfectly balanced. We will definitely be back.

Local restaurant and was hungry after a morning event. Good food but only a place to eat once and not be convinced to come back b/c there are better restaurants.

Visited Mariscos La Chula for the first time, and it did not disappoint! We ordered micheladas, guacamole, tacos gobernador, ceviche de pescado with salsa verde, ceviche de jaiba with salsa negra, and spicy garlic pulpo. Everything was absolutely delicious, but the pulpo was hands down my favorite--packed with the perfect amount of spice and so flavorful! We came on a Sunday and enjoyed watching football on their screens, plus there was a DJ playing live music, which added to the fun atmosphere. The servers were super friendly and attentive. Definitely planning to come back soon!

I came here for my 30th birthday because it was recommended by a friend. I had a group of 12 so I made a reservation. When I arrived the waitress pointed at our table but it was only for 8. I told the waitress we would need more chairs and she said okay don't worry but as my guest started arriving no additional chairs/tables were added. My guest had to do it themselves. I picked this place because of the prices, they advertise all you can drink "Mimosas" until 1pm for $15 and after 1pm for $20 per person. Which is super affordable. The waitress came around pretty often filling up our "champagne" which was more like white wine and Orange Juice as they were served separately. To my surprise once we asked for the check I notice an extra 6 orange juice charged. I asked the waitress what was the orange juice charge and she said only the first round of orange juice comes with the all you can drink. I mentioned to her that no one asked for extra orange juice she was coming around filling it up herself so it would have been nice to know that we were going to get charged extra. She pointed at the other side of my table and they "they asked for extra orange juice" my group said no we didn't. So it was a little awkward. She charged for 6 additional juices which was $18.72 It would have just been nice to know, just seemed kinda sneaky that they were trying to charge for orange juice when it's all you can drink "mimosas" because of this experience I won't be coming back here. Abigail was our server and she was honestly the sweetest! She checked on us and kept our drinks flowing and our food hot. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived and they were super accomodating when we asked to be seated outside since we had a big party. Def recommend if you want brunch with friends where it's chill and lowkey. Also, so much parking!!
