The 18 Best Restaurants & Bars In Puerto Vallarta

"When you drive up to Mariscos La Tia II, which is off the main highway 10 minutes outside of downtown PV, you’ll see a bunch of roosters and chickens wandering around on the dirt road. Eventually, you’ll get to the open, two-level house with colorful wooden tables, chairs, and friendly staff. Start by ordering a cold beer or agua fresca, some ceviche tostadas, and the Salta Pa Tras, a shrimp soup with smokey marlin that’s seasoned with butter, garlic, and some secret, magic blend of spices. Don't skip the La Quematida Combinada, which takes a bunch of sauteed seafood in that same buttery, garlicky mix and puts it over a “tortilla” made of gouda. The mix of crunchy cheese and buttery seafood is insanely good, and should probably be illegal. " - debora mestre

The place is beautiful not what I expected, and the gentlemen helping our table were great. We had some fish tacos and they were really good, the salsas are perfect. The price for two people was under $500. I highly recommend the place.

Delicious seafood tostadas are a highlight here, especially the ‘Consentida’ Tostada: 150 grams of seafood sautéed in butter and garlic, served over fish ceviche, topped with tomato, onion, avocado, and enhanced with house sauces, lime, and your choice of spice level. It includes shrimp, octopus, scallop, abalone, marlin, and oyster—a true seafood lover’s delight. Another standout is the ‘Prepared Combined Tostada’: 110 grams of protein featuring fish ceviche (with or without mayonnaise), pickled pork skin, tomato, onion, and avocado, complemented by lime and flavorful sauces, customized to your taste. Add to that great margaritas and friendly service in a simple yet inviting setting. The newly paved road and enclosed free parking are welcome improvements from last year.

Looking for an authentic experience? I was the only foreigner in this packed house. Obviously a hit with the locals. I let my server pick for me and wow! Just wow! The food was absolutely amazing. My server was so helpful and even gave me a hug when I left. I will be eating here for dinner the rest of my vacation!

We have been frequenting La Tia’s II since 2019. This is by far the most welcoming and flavorful seafood restaurant in all of Vallarta. Today’s visit was extra special as it has been a year since our last visit. WOW, they have expanded. But do not worry the atmosphere, staff, and Juan have not lost their personal touch. Thank you for a wonderful and delicious lunch! Tostada, seafood soup (chilled), seafood tacos (oops no picture, trust me…delicious), and a tasty beverage. Thomas “Pancho” y Deborah

Google
Great hidden authentic seafood testaurant. The best guacomole we"ve had. Try the catch of the day and the specialty tacos. Chef Juan, Raimundo, Diego and staff - all family - provide a great experience!

Look for seafood in Puerto Vallarta and there are plenty to choose from! This little place, located off the beaten track, is as good as it gets!

Yelp
My favorite Marlin tacos in Puerto Vallarta. The chili oil is to die for, I'm a chili oil advocate. The sangria is strong but tasty. The ceviche is delicious as well.

Yelp

Yelp
We came by to try the tostadas and got the aguachile and combinada tostadas. Both were pretty good but I preferred the combinada with smoked marlin, shrimp and octopus better. The smoky sauce they serve on top is excellent and it's a great stop for seafood!

Yelp
The place was packed, but I've had better food and service. I asked for Coke Zero, got regular coke. Then I had the Ceviche and Combinada tostadas...lastly, I asked for a Cueritos tostada, but got another Combinada. They didn't adjust my ticket and after two mistakes, I asked for check. The ceviche is anything but, tastes more like tuna and mayo smeared on a tostada. Definitely not the traditional ceviche! It seems like it's the only seafood place around the area so maybe that's why all the hype ‍

Yelp
La Tia has now become our first stop when we travel to Puerto Vallarta. We have now been here several times in the past two years and it's the way we begin our stay. The food is incredible, to begin with. Our favorite dish is the Aguachile De Camarones. The sauce it comes with is rich, deep, and spicy. It's absolutely delicious. We also enjoy the Tastada Ceviche and the Marlin Soup. Tortillas are homemade and very light, perfect for any dish to make a taco. My wife is vegetarian and they were happy to accommodate her diet with mushrooms sauteéd in their amazing sauce (this should be a regular menu item). We have now got to know the owner and chef who goes by the nickname "Chicken". He knows us now when we arrive and makes us feel like part of his family. This restaurant is not only a gem, but it's also magical. You immediately feel part of the real Mexico and the food is authentic and amazing as one could imagine. It's close to the airport, but off the beaten path a bit, but it is worth seeking out for an incredible meal. I highly recommend La Tia to anyone.

Yelp
Worth every penny (or peso); should be anyone's first stop upon arriving at Vallerta

Yelp
Easily the Best seafood place in Vallarta! The specialty seafood tostadas are out of this world, the grilled octupus tacos are tasty and delicate. You can tell somebody took a serious Chef training by the way the food is presented and how the food tastes. Tia Nana, you should update your decor make the tables and chair nicer. Be a precence in Social media. Ridiculous that you only have 1 review here in Google. Come on step it up!!ol Thank you for the amazing food! Get your Name and Address updated in here. Its confusing. Bendiciones!

Yelp
Great seafood Local spot with high quality. Clearly a place with pride in offering the service and the food. English menu available. We arrived at noon for a lunch before a flight and it was basically just getting going for the day. By the time we left an hour later it was full downstairs You will think given the roads you have to drive and the industrial neighborhood you go through that no restaurant could be here. Persevere this is worth the trip. So flavorful and such welcoming service. There is a parking lot across the alley.

Yelp
Yum yum. They don't speak any English but are super nice people serving tasty seafood in a hole in a wall setting. I highly recommend it. 1) Aguachile raw shrimp mixed with octopus - yum. The seafood was very fresh but I'd probably skip the scallop. $10 2) grilled shrimp tacos - yes!! $2 3) ceviche tostada - Skip $0.75 4) fried fish taco - just ok

Yelp
Restaurant is about 5 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta airport. Service is great as soon as you walk in. The menu is explain by your waiter in detail with all the youse specialties. I recommend the following but everything in the menu sounds and looks delicious. -Fish Tostada (House Special) -Shrimp Ceviche -Shirmp Cocktail -Putazo (small version of a michelada, house special) Area may look a bit sketchy but totally safe for tourist.

Yelp
Amazing food, great service! Ambiance is cute too! Worth it to go out of the way to find this place!

Yelp
Nice local spot. Hidden gem. The fish tacos were amazing and so were the salsas. Loved the green salsa (cucumber based) and the chipotle style sauce. If I ever come back to Puerto Vallarta I will be coming here. They take credit cards.

Yelp
The marlin tacos are absolutely amazing. The staff was extremely polite and helpful. Fresh salsas paired well with the tacos as well. This place is an absolute must for people wanting great food!

Yelp
Definitely off the beaten path but PV's people in the know go here when they want to have a real seafood experience !

Yelp
What a gem. We were looking for a great last meal before heading to the airport. Look no further than Mariscos. The service is impeccable. The staff was amazingly attentive and kind. The chef came out to greet us and tell us his recommendations. The food. Wow. It was possibly our favorite meal during our week stay. The tacos are outstanding. The homemade tortillas really take the cake. The quesadillas are unlike anything you've seen before. The shrimp ceviche appetizer is a clear winner. The margaritas also hit the spot. Make this a stop during your stay or make it the last meal before the airport. What a treat.

Yelp
I can't even begin to explain how delicious the flavors are !!! I had a marlin tostada (ok 2) and they were on point! We also had a shrimp Aguachile (I asked for it not so spicy) perfection. And a Pepa salad 'guisada' - seriously..... you're welcome stomach!!!

SJ S.

Yelp
A hidden gem in the pueblo! Hope In the wall but fresh from the kitchen! Fresh fresh tacos from the ocean!

Yelp
Get the Marlin tacos. It is probably the favorite thing I have eaten in all of Mexico, and I eat a lot of tacos.

Yelp
Another seafood spot we visited.... although we went to the downtown location( it's a stand in front of the Pemex gas station). Tacos here are amazing. We got marlin and shrimp. "Aztepatras" TRY IT. Seafood Cocktail mixed(ask for it cold with ketchup and Valentina). Also must get the pineapple and mint water.
