"Mariscos Tocho is a Sonoran-style seafood restaurant that doesn’t shy away from bold flavors, and by that, we mean using copious amounts of sauce. The Lynwood spot makes a delicious salsa negra that bristles with heat from crushed chiltepín, smokiness from dried chiles, plus a hint of sweetness from a secret ingredient—whatever it is, it just works. The tostada negra with large chunks of shrimp arrives drenched in the sweet-savory salsa, then gets finished with avocado and chipotle crema. Another stand out on the sprawling menu is the botana gorda, a pile of tender shrimp and octopus sautéed with onions and more spoonfuls of that addictive salsa negra." - Sylvio Martins, Garrett Snyder, Nikko Duren

No pricing on the menu, they charge you base on your appearance. The aguachile is more cucumbers and onions than shrimp. Overpriced (over $22 for a tostada) never coming back again.

🇲🇽 SONORA MÉXICO (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - If you have visited Puerto Peñasco and sat down at popular locals-focused restaurants like Mariscos Las Plebes, you will recognize the offerings at Mariscos Tocho, with cheesy seafood and/or manta ray tacos, deep dark and chunky sauced-up ceviches, and all the more pan-coastal cocteles, botanas, and other ceviches that can be found just about anywhere.

Food is pretty good, would definitely go back. Service at the counter needs a lot of work though. The older lady with a lot of makeup at the register seemed really annoyed that someone came in and interrupted her time scrolling the phone. No customer service etiquette whatsoever. However I would still recommend this place just order in person at your own risk.

Only open on the weekends. Very unique mariscos with their own touch and traditional mariscos as well. Make sure to try their own TOCHO dishes!

Google
El tocho finally got a standalone location!!! After looking on Alameda for them for the last few months I stumbled across their location on Long Beach Blvd! It's better than before with them finally having enough space to serve any and everything they like. Their food is on point as always and they serve beer and make amazing Miches! The tacos tocho were on point as well as their tostada negra! Will be back soon to try some more!

There's a lot of competition with this type of food around here, but this restaurant stands out about the rest. Let me start by saying I don't like Octopus, and for the first time I loved it. We had a little bit of almost everything, the unic flavor for everything kept us wanting more. The cheffs home made spices we're amazing, even though I don't do spices or hot sauce I put it on everything. We ordered extra food to go. to share with the family

Google
Tostada negra real good. The salsa negra is bomb!!!! They use good quality shrimp nice big and taste real fresh. Fresh onion and Lemons. Tostadas nice and crunchy Aguachile rojo is good and spicy. They bring out food fast. Service is standard. I wish they had pictures of items on menu or on wall to make ordering easier. They have micheladas.

Title: An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Mariscos Tocho! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ Review: Mariscos Tocho is an absolute gem when it comes to delightful seafood cuisine. From the moment I stepped foot into this charming restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat. The combination of exceptional service, inviting ambiance, and most importantly, the mouthwatering flavors of their signature dishes, left me utterly impressed and satisfied. Let's start with the star of the show—the Tacos Tocho. These little bundles of joy redefine what a taco should be. Bursting with a symphony of flavors, tender pieces of marinated seafood are nestled in warm, freshly made tortillas, perfectly complemented by a medley of fresh vegetables and a tantalizing sauce that adds just the right amount of zest. Each bite is a journey that transports your taste buds to coastal Mexico, leaving you craving for more. But that's not all. The Ceviche Tostadas at Mariscos Tocho are a culinary masterpiece in their own right. The combination of tangy citrus-marinated seafood, crisp tostada shells, and a delightful blend of spices creates a harmonious explosion of flavors that is simply irresistible. The freshness and quality of the ingredients shine through in every bite, making it an absolute delight for seafood lovers. What truly sets Mariscos Tocho apart is their unwavering commitment to excellence. The staff members are not only friendly and attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, ensuring that every dining experience is tailored to perfection. The attention to detail and the passion they exhibit in delivering exceptional service is truly commendable. The ambiance of Mariscos Tocho is warm, inviting, and exudes a sense of coastal charm. The vibrant colors, tasteful decor, and lively atmosphere create the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience. Whether you're enjoying a meal with friends, a romantic evening, or a family gathering, Mariscos Tocho offers an environment that makes you feel right at home. To top it all off, the prices at Mariscos Tocho are incredibly reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes. It's evident that they prioritize providing value for their customers without compromising on taste or presentation. In conclusion, Mariscos Tocho is a hidden treasure that deserves every bit of praise. With their extraordinary Tacos Tocho, delectable Ceviche Tostadas, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance, they have truly mastered the art of creating an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you're a seafood aficionado or simply looking to indulge in an extraordinary meal, Mariscos Tocho is an absolute must-visit. Prepare to be dazzled by the flavors and leave with a smile on your face, eagerly anticipating your next visit.

Yelp
The food is so good. Best agua chile negra I have ever had. The Tocho tacos are incredible. Downside, they're rude AF, $3 card fee is crazy, they close at 5pm. My partner and I take our food "to go" but you still have to experience the lady in the front. Does it kill to be at least polite? Just be cash only. I saw the visa logo so you think they take CC, I have never been charged $3 for a transaction fee. Maybe $1.50 or $2 but $3? Again, amazing food, the quality is good. People say it's expensive but it's pretty competitive compared to other spots. I just wish they fixed the things mentioned and closed later

Lizz R.

Yelp
Tochos has really dropped a lot on their quality as well as their quantity, sadly. Just check out the "Tocho" tacos, they're supposed to be carne asada AND shrimp, only has ONE shrimp on each taco, might as well call them "Asada tacos". Not worth the money anymore.

Yelp
Small spot located on Long Beach Blvd one block from Martin Luther King Blvd. Parking is limited however there is street parking. Now let's talk about the very delicious seafood this place serves. Tostada ceviche de Camarón con pulpo has a very clean and fresh taste. Taco Tocho, two tortillas with melted cheese, carne Asada and cooked shrimp WOW amazing taste! Botana el Gordo is a cooked dish with outstanding favorable taste. The sauce used is the owners own homemade salsa. Taste like roasted chill peppers bomb! The owner and staff are the most friendly and humble people. They make you feel welcome and fast service. If you are in the area or are craving seafood, you must try this spot. You will not regret it!

Valerie A.

Yelp
WOW.. So good, I wanted to lick my plate. I sort of did. Their ceviche tostadas are amazing, and their sauces are unique. Portions are good. Cost was $8 per tostada and worth it!

Raul G.

Yelp
Sunday: 10/06/2024 First timer here...asked the cashier what items/dishes were most popular and she throughly explained. I explained what I was looking for and she suggested the molcajete. Uno de paisa sabe...that molcajete was LOADED with all the seafood that comes along with it. Will be my regular cruda spot

Rosa V.

Yelp
Sonora seafood style. The establishment is clean and the workers are friendly. I have ordered the shrimp tacos and the mar y Tierra tacos, -tostada negra -coctel de camarón

Sally V.

Yelp
I am so glad I found this place. All I can say is *chefs kiss* It is a hole in the wall but it has great parking and the inside was clean. They have a hand written menu but the staff is great and will answer any questions. There is a whopping $3 credit card fee but we didn't have another option. I ordered 3 Tacos Tocho and a fish taco. They were both amazing. The meat in the tacos tocho was so flavorful and the sauces that come with it put the cherry on top. The fish taco is pretty big and served with avocado. I would highly recommend stopping by!

Vic P.

Yelp
I am here at Mariscos Tocho on January 8 on a business trip. I thought since it's close to lunch I would try to find a whole in the wall Mexican restaurant. And not too far from where I was going I found this little cool place. Asked them what could I eat. The lady suggested everything on the menu. I opted for a taco with asada-shrimp & cheese with their popular TOCHO sauce. I also ordered a shrimp taco. The carne asada-shrimp taco was lightly fried, meat was tender & tasty. The TOCHO sauce complemented it well. I couldn't quite tell what the secret ingredient was. I thought it had a fusion of an Asian ingredient. I would come back here again and bring friends. The shrimp taco had one tortilla which is perfect and substantial & was also good. Although it didn't blow me away. Until next time see you soon!!!

Josefina F.

Yelp
I love tochos I would drive an hour for their ceviche and their botana Gordo. I've been a customer for 6 years

Anita M.

Yelp
Tocho opened up his restaurant Location is really nice and clean. They're ALWAYS super friendly and welcoming.......husband and I love their food. The food never disappoints. Today we ordered the consume Chico, Botana Gordo de camarón, tostada de ceviche de camarón, choya

Giovanny P.

Yelp
I've been coming to eat at "Tochos" before their restaurant inaugurated. Let me tell you, their food taste amazing. However, my "consomé was served with little to no cilantro and cebolla". And my "tostada rocky had more veggies than scallop and shrimp". I would hate to see the food quality decrease just because the restaurant is poppin. Don't loose that special taste people go there for.

Jessica G.

Yelp
$3 debit fee!!! That's crazy I had a bad experience after having this place my stomach was bad the whole weekend off of ONE taco

Josue H.

Yelp
This shit got a nasty ass flavor , and they expensive as fuck no type of flavor ese .

Jess C.

Yelp
Soooooo good!! We saw a few previous posts and since we live in South Gate we wanted to support a local biz. Daaaaaaaang this food is bomb! We got the botona gordo and tostadas de jaiva and it's some of the best mariscos we ever had. The chile negro takes everything up 10 notches :) We were looking for a food truck but they now have their own spot. Congrats!!

Karla O.

Yelp
Food is amazing!!!! First time visiting the actual restaurant. Always used to go to the truck. The restaurant is very clean and plenty of seating and parking. I always get a tostada de camarón or mixta. Make sure you throw on the salsa negra and creamy sauce on top. Tacos Tocho are delish. The asada is super moist and flavorful. The callos de hacha botana en salsa negra is also great. Always super fresh and flavorful.

Bryan F.

Yelp
Aguachiles were mediocre to me. Mostly vegetables. I get better aguachiles from the lady with the food stand on Compton Blvd and Atlantic. Her aguachiles actually fill me up.

B R.

Yelp
Best tostada mixta , that black chili sauce is to die for. It's a bit of spice and all flavor

The_Hangry_Rider ..

Yelp
This truck is AMAZING! We tried four dishes and they were all excellent but the real winner was a hot dish with shrimp & octopus that blew my mind, I think they call it Botana Gordo. As far as ceviches get anything with their black sauce.

Mayra G.

Yelp
Found a new favorite marisco spot Love their salsa negra and dressing sauce you get with the Marsicos. My only constructive criticism is that they close really early, but the food is amazing

Max S.

Yelp
Yes, it's a food truck, but the food is really good. I split the seafood tower, which is a heaping tower of shrimp, octopus, abalone, cucumber, tomatoes, and onions, topped off with slices of avocado. It's authentic Mexican food, so no sour cream. Food seems fresh and feels pretty healthy. It comes with a side of lime, tostado chips, a cream sauce, and black spicy sauce, which is so good. That is what you are seeing in most of the other folks' photos. I decided to leave it out because if you don't know what it is, you're probably wondering what is going on with the food. The tostado chips require a mention all their own because they are really good, too. We got 8 tortilla disks with the seafood tower. You will need to pop a mint in your mouth afterwards.

Mike P.

Yelp
Food Warm for being seafood tostada the cocktail had little or no shrimp / no AC which is should of been a warning for hot food ,, nice people though .

Daniela B.

Yelp
After coming to them for a good amount of years ever since the new location opened the portions keep getting smaller & smaller this shrimp not even fresh I've had fresher from the local seafood market I literally payed 20$ for a tostada that's what my plate of agachilles filled 1 tostada, the service is not the best, the ambiance not the best either I much rather go down the street to mariscos el paisa out in the open nice people. Very very dissatisfied but at least now me & my family know won't be making that drive here no more,

Alexis P.

Yelp
I'm sad to say that I will no longer be going to Mariscos Tocho. This used to be my favorite place to go to every weekend for their fish tacos. I hadn't gone since they opened up their restaurant in Lynwood. Today I went back and I must say I'm highly disappointed with the quality of the fish in the tacos. The tacos were very skimpy and to top it off they gave me 1 sauce that was filled less than half way for 4 tacos, mind you I'm a Mexican who loves spicy food.

Miguel M.

Yelp
I went here just today order choreada plate to go home it's so good they give you this sauce to pour over it so it can fall onto the plate so tasty I even used it to make a michelada with it the plate has shrimp Callito pulpo abulone a bit pricey at 20$ but well worth it. I will be coming again

Casey A.

Yelp
Totally disappointed, I've been supporting Tochos for the past few years and I'm aware of the authenticity of the food. I say that to say this.... The new location has cheated me, I get it rent is expensive along with what comes when opening a restaurant bills etc. However I noticed a big difference today 7/29/22. The food lacked flavor "Tacos tocho" use to have flavor and substance, the once juices flavor pulled up with meat and shrimp is no longer there. Please make "Tochos" great again. The Gordo dish use to be filled to the top with seafood, now it went to a small portion that had less seafood. I can go on and on but I will leave this here! Please Please bring back the authenticity of the food, I would hate to part ways with you, specially because I love your employee L, Oscar who always has such a positive attitude and demeanor. Thank you.

Bre R.

Yelp
Fire! I always come here for the Verde Aguachiles! Their service is good and fast . Convenient location w good attention to detail on the seafood! Super yummy if u get a chance stop by u won't regret it . Only place I buy Aguachiles frm after MANY Failed attempts at other places for way more $$$ . There prices are unbeatable and it's all clean seafood! Super plus for me

Alitza M.

Yelp
Don't waste your money or time! Shame shame shame nothing but a hype. Their food has no flavor super bland!!! It lacks taste, worst seafood by far. Not worth the price at all. The tacos tocho's meat is like chewing on rubber. Not coming here again.

Cynthia M.

Yelp
Best mariscos, always fresh and salsas are one of a kind. I usually get the mixta and fish tacos. But everything is so good.

Juan C.

Yelp
Hands down some of the best mariscos I've had in a while just now if your looking for the location and you blink your going to miss it it's a hidden gem

Luis A.

Yelp
The best seafood in town , great service always. Thank you very much. Tostada negra my favorite and the tacos tochos too.

John R.

Yelp
Great trucks, clean, fast and delicious. I got the stingray and shrimp tacos and they were spicy and filling. Great flavor not messy like most tacos. Will be back and reccomemded.

Victor P.

Yelp
Love this place come at least four times a month here my kids love it as well. I recommend Tocho tacos

Erica R.

Yelp
I absolutely loved it !!! The best by far! The salsa negra omg ! Mouth watering! Friendly staff! I loved it! I been missing out on this goodness too long! I highly recommend it!

Dora V.

Yelp
Wow! The mariscos we're very fresh. The mariscos we're fresh and delicious, but the tocho taco stole the show. Carne asada, shrimp, and cheese nestled in a warm tortilla. Pour the dark red spicy sauce and the creamy red sauce and you have an explosion of deliciousness. I've had nothing like it before!

Nikki T.

Yelp
I have been waiting for Friday just so I could try this place out. It is located off Alameda closer to 115th St. in the Santana Tires and Auto Glass parking lot. That's where the entrance is located. Get the tocho tacos! They are $3.50 each, but sooo worth it! Tocho tacos come with beef, shrimp, cheese and a yummy sauce inside! You can get it without the sauce, but why would you? It's amazing with the sauce. I also ordered the shrimp taco which was also delish, but the tocho taco was my favorite! They offer a variety of seafood concoctions from tacos to tostadas and more. Everything was fresh and flavorful!

Brenda H.

Yelp
I'm hooked! Mariscos Tocho is amazingly delicious! I started off with a shrimp ceviche tostada and a chichi taco. The "chichi taco" is a stingray taco. Yes stingray! I highly recommend that you try it. I'm pretty sure this is the only place around that sells sting ray. Mariscos Tocho's sauce left me wanting more so I ordered a "taco tocho."This taco is generously filled with love; carne asada, shrimp, and cheese all slowly charbroiled in a corn tortilla. The crunchiness of the tortilla and the concussion of flavors felt like heaven in my mouth. Again, the kick of thier special sauce left me wanting more! This is a must have here. You will be amazed at what this food truck cooks up!

Edgar B.

Yelp
Hidden gem Work nearby so decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint . The ceviche de Camaron taste fresh I recommend getting extra of there black hot sauce adds a nice kick to it . Tried one of the tocho tacos and man they were some of the best tacos I've had

John R.

Yelp
Places is waaaay over rated. Got 4 tostadas and 3 tacos. Came out to 68 dollars!!!!! I was in shock!! I literally threw my money away.

Adan Jr C.

Yelp
You're a seafood lover? You need to try Tochos! La Choya a cocktail like with a big twist fills your taste buds. Taco Tocho shrimp & asada amazing, but I do something different and replace shrimp with octopus. Worried about kid menu? Tostada tochito shrimp & cucumber my son favorite.

Ivan L.

Yelp
FOOD IS BOMB!!! THE TOCHO Taco is bomb!!! The service is really great, and the lady that took our order, Sandra, was nice This is a must try

Boris C.

Yelp
Great food, just a bit pricy, but if you would like to treat yourself once in great while this is the place to go. They are only open on the weekends, call in if you don't want to wait.

Chris C.

Yelp
Tried the tacos Tocho, the tostada mixta , and the Choya, everything was awesome, fresh, and delicious! It was a bit of a wait but worth it, parking is pretty bad usually park on santa ana and walk. Can't wait to try the rest of the mariscos.

Martha A.

Yelp
Are you kidding me???? Why didn't I find this place before????? This is by far the best mariscos tostada I've ever had in my life!! The queen of queens. Delicious, big portions and fast service. I just wish they took phone orders.

dez r.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I (jerry, she'll know who that is lol) order this almost every weekend and I just love the service I consistently get from the very nice señora who takes orders over the phone. I'll continue to rave about this to all our friends :) thanks for the delicious food and to my Co worker who introduced me! Lol

Noel I.

Yelp
Always pass by here see a lot of people eating, and today I finally stop with the wife, and we order, la choya, shrimp ceviche tostada, fries tocho loco, and a shimp cocktail, wow never had a seafood were u just order and don't add anything just eat themmmm was so good I can say is going to be my spot from now on...thank u to the guys for helping me choose and let it me kno what was every item....just ask....thank u...fast service. ...

Maria A.

Yelp
If it weren't for the long wait I would give it 5-stars. The food is delicious but they usually run out fast so make sure you get there early or you'll miss them.

Abs H.

Yelp
This is a must try spot! It is a hidden gem located inside Santana Tires! The place is very clean and friendly staff. The food is the best! Taco Tocho is a must try and papas tochos. Highly recommend this spot to get your marisco fix! I wanted to update the review to share an updated item on the menu, Tostada Tocho! It is a tostada loaded with shrimp and carne asada! Definitely a must try!

Alex G.

Yelp
Ceviche tostada was what i ordered and it was DELICIOUS! my husband had the shrimp soup also awesome if you are in the area a MUST definitely! Thank u!

Maribel G.

Yelp
Oh man!! Everything I have tried is delicious here! My absolute favorites are the tocho fries and botana gordo. Their newest addition, the tostada tocho is super yummy!
