The 21 Best Restaurants in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca | Eater

"Since August 2018 this casual seafood restaurant has served some of the best shrimp tacos in Puerto Escondido, together with other specialties like chicharrones made from mahi-mahi skin and the seafood tower, a departure from the classic seafood cocktail that’s ubiquitous on the coast. (Here, it’s Sinaloa-inspired, a literal tower of precariously layered shellfish, shrimp, octopus, and more.) Chef Matteo Conti’s special tostadas lean nontraditional: octopus with chimichurri and pork rinds, and one with shrimp that borrows from Chinese takeout flavors like sesame and sweet-and-sour sauce. You won’t be disappointed. [$-$$]" - Tirza Bonifazi

Unbelievable food, probably the best fried fish taco I’ve had with super fresh fish, great (and VERY big) tuna tostada, and the complimentary soup is to die for - they really know what they are doing. Service is great, the server is kind and food comes out quickly. Reasonable price given what is around, really recommend! Its a little hard to find, you need to walk down a side street alley (photo in my review), but worth it!

Incredible mexican seafood restaurant. Standouts for us were the spicy tuna & shrimp tacos. Cocktails were also delicious. Everything was generously portioned and the service was fantastic. We loved this restaurant and recommended it to friends who also had an amazing experience here. It was a little bit difficult finding the restaurant, but walk up the waterway and cross it to go up the stairs on the right hand side to the restaurant

This place is amazing. The food is the best I’ve had in Puerto Escondido, very authentic and not touristy at all. The service is wonderful and the owners are great and friendly people. If you’re looking for brunch/lunch/dinner, this is the place to go. It’s a bit hard to find, just go to where it is on Google Maps and there’s a sign that you then follow the lights reach the stairs to the restaurant. I’d definitely suggest the Taco Empanzado and the oysters Rockefeller, and the drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are incredible.

Such a lovely little spot to have dinner and watch the sunset. The food was great and Toni, the waitress was super friendly. There is also a happy hour, 2x1 in the early evening.

Unassuming place tucked away from the street a bit but absolutely 110% recommend. Amazing service from Luis, probably the best shrimp tacos and caldo de camaron I’ve ever had. Sublime views of the ocean. Great music in the background. This is Mexico at its finest. Bravo!

Put simply, the food was out of this world and the service even better. The whole team, but especially Antonina, was kind and attentive, with fantastic reccomendations. This restaraunt is definitely a highlight of Puerto Escondido, the seafood and accompanying flavours was fresh and supremely well balanced. Will definitely visit everytime we are lucky enough to be in the area again!!

During our two week honeymoon around different parts of Mexico, we have eaten at 50+ places and this was the only one we ate at twice (and also happened to be on the same day). The food was out of this world amazing and the service was top notch. Toni was our main waitress and we loved her enthusiasm, kindness and helpfulness. For lunch, our standout dishes were: Shrimp tacos (these are the best shrimp tacos we’ve EVER) had and the chocolatas preparadas For dinner, our standout dishes were: Shrimp tacos (yes, we ordered them again), fried fish (perfectly fried and a nice sauce on the side) and the caldo camerones The only downside is that we live so far and can’t come here all the time!!!
