Google
Market of Choice Bend is my favorite grocery store in town. They have a fantastic selection of fresh produce, high-quality meats, and a wide variety of local and organic products. The store is always clean and well-stocked, and the staff is super friendly and helpful. I also love their deli and bakery section—everything is fresh and delicious!

Google
You know, it's great if you like the kind of products Whole Foods sells, but instead of getting gouged by Amazon for your healthy shopping, you can instead pay a premium price to an Oregon business. The staff are decidedly kind, I am surprised they have two floors and comfortable seating for people to eat, meet, and so on. An oddly positive presence in its community.

Just wanted to give folks a heads up regarding a Market of Choice marketing strategy. I was in the Bend store today to buy a bottle of wine. There were several large signs in the wine section stating 25% off 4 bottles. I noticed the sale ended on November 2nd. I thought what a great deal, I’ll go ahead and buy 4 bottles. When I was checking out I noticed I hadn’t received the 25% discount. I asked the cashier why, she said that the sale doesn’t start until the 31st. I asked, why don’t you wait until the 31st to put the sale signs out? She replied, “ your point is taken.” I get it, I should have noticed the sale didn’t start until the 31st - but, this is a very misleading tactic. I would have saved $21.50 on my wine purchase. I don’t live here but, going forward when I am in Bend I won’t be shopping here. I don’t know what happened to good old fashioned customer service, it seems to be lacking here. I did call the store and left a voicemail. I just feel like the transaction was a complete disappointment and I ended up with 4 bottles of high priced wine when my intention was to buy one. Lesson learned!

Google
I didn't have a lot of time so I didn't spend as much time as I would've liked. I was just traveling thru town and needed a few supplies. So they had , some they didn't. I loved the store. Prices didn't seem very much higher if any than I'm used to. High quality, organic produce and other things are well worth it to me.

Dave G.

Google
Unique, specialized, more expensive grocery store. Nice deli, has areas to dine up or down stairs as well as outside. Some employees seem to be uninterested in being in a customer service role. Good location near Old Mill.

Pavel Viktor B.

Google
I'm always happy when I have a chance to visit this store. I definitely love the deli section. Food is always fresh and tasty. Bakery is my second stop. Usually pick up at least one box of cookies 🍪

Dylan J.

Google
The store is beautiful. Great selection. Prices are high but to be expected for the location and building. I stopped coming here as there is always 1 cashier and no option for self checkout. I prefer to not do self checkout but when there is 10 people standing in line at 8am on a Monday, you need to have more than one cashier on.

Google
I was curious about the store due to one coming to a town near me. The restrooms were upstairs, there was an elevator and stairs to get to them. There was an eating area up there as well. The store was clean and tidy. I didn't buy anything so I'm not sure about the check out process, but it looked pretty standard.

Yelp
This is just a solid grocery store that honestly reminds me of a Whole Foods. Everything was clean, and the people are super friendly. I went here and grabbed a quick sandwich for lunch. I was absolutely blown away by the amount of choices for premade foods. Everything looked absolutely delicious and I was a little overwhelmed. When I got my sandwich, I couldn't believe how big it was! I was supposed to get a turkey sandwich, but I really feel like it was more of a vegetarian. I was honestly surprised by the tiny amount of meat I got in such a large sandwich. The bread was a little dry, but the veggies were fresh. All in all, this was a good sandwich. I just wish they would've used fresh bread, and actually put a decent amount of meat. This is a great little grocery store, and I would totally go back.

Yelp
Reserved turkey for Thanksgiving. Picked it up. Turkey was so frozen we had to cut the legs/thighs off n cook them only. The cranberry relish had so much cinnamon in it no one would eat it. The brussels sprout bacon plate was sour tasting n to salty to eat. The only thing good was the pumpkin pie! I don't think we'll be buying from them againso disappointed.

Yelp
The food at the many deli bars is by far the best available in Bend. The service is the only thing better than the food.
google avatar

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
Market of choice is an amazing grocery store that is unique to Oregon. They have a great selection of health foods and other goods. I was so happy to see that they were selling ocean rolls during my visit to Bend. All of the products are high quality and it's always clean with great service.
google avatar

Yelp
Vacation find. First time visiting Bend and were happy to find Market of Choice. We loved the vibe and the cute fireplace and cafe. The fresh produce section is exceptional, with several selections of fruits and vegetables! Everything seemed well stocked with several unique gourmet ingredients and unique local items. Staff: We were impressed with service -- friendly and knowledgable.

Yelp
This store has some of the worst customer service philosophies I've encountered. I had a question about a baked good- the bakery staff had no answer. I used the web portal to submit my answer and received no reply. I asked my cashier and he was rude. I've called twice today, had the phone hung up once, sat on hold once, then called again and was told they were too short staffed. it would be funny if I weren't making this up. I went with my girlfriend- we were looking for a product- and together we received the same product. one person had no answer- another person said they weren't sure. round and round. I bought sliced turkey- got home and they had bagged all the scrap meat and sold full price. I asked a gentleman cashier if there was someone I could speak with about the deli meat- he said "if you get here later in the day, you get what is out there."
google avatar

Teresa H.

Yelp
Went into the store looking for help cashier was rude and said nobody was available. Didn't even check to see if anybody was around. overall horrible customer service horrible service as well. Had to ask for my thank you. Will not be back to this location ever again! I'm better off ordering anything I need on Amazon!!!
google avatar

Christie B.

Yelp
I love their food bar!! There are so many good choices to choose from. The macaroni and cheese is amazing! The street corn is also on the top of my list! I really like their hummus! The seating is inside and outside which I like very much!
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
They have cooked hot meals soups fried foods and takeout meals in the deli areas. Lot's of choices and a bakery area with plenty of sweets to choose from. Plus grocery shopping. This's a mega market that has something for everyone.
google avatar

Alicia A.

Yelp
Take me back! I've been here three different times and can't say enough good things about it. There are so many good food options from fish and chips to sushi to Thai food. Anything you're in the mood for you will find at market of choice. The service is great. Recently, we went to the fishmonger who went out of his way to help us. The ambience is great it's clean. It's lively without being loud and annoying. And they have a great bar! Can't say enough nice things about this place and the people who work there.
google avatar

Bryan R.

Yelp
Worst rotisserie chicken ever. It's unbelievably dry, zero flavor, absolutely horrible. The store itself is otherwise a good grocery store and does have some decent hot food. Just not the rotisserie chicken.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
The hot food bar has so many delicious choices! And the desserts... they all look so good that I want to eat them all. There is also a cafe and plenty of seating areas both on the first floor and upstairs where you can enjoy your food and debate if you should get another piece of cake.

Haidee T.

Yelp
Beautiful market with regular and artisanal offerings! Plus they offer Sparrow Bakery items in store.
google avatar

Senan D.

Yelp
Wow! As someone who can't eat gluten, I had so many options for treats, meals, and more. The shop is very big, clean, and dark. The light was a bit low, but I still could see. The staff was polite and helpful. It's totally worth a look if you visit the area.

John A.

Yelp
You pay for what you get which translates to quality. If you are looking for quality, really fresh produce, the best meat cuts and a staff happy to work with you. While you are at it don't forget to heck the wine and a sundry of other libations. We live in Redmond but otherwise this would be our place.

Emerson B.

Yelp
While the food and products are great, I have never had a positive experience/interaction with one of the employees here, specifically the baristas in the cafe and the people working at the deli. It consistently feels like helping me and doing the bare minimum is a burden. It seems like they don't want to be at their jobs, and that customers are bothering them. I have picked up this vibe multiple times, and because of it, I will usually opt for other grocery stores, bakeries, and cafes. I hope that they can improve their attitude and make customers feel more welcome.
google avatar

Martina C.

Yelp
Four stars for EVERYTHING but price. Obviously when you walk in you realize that you're paying A LOT more for anything in this store than if you go to other stores. But the selection is great. Produce is fresh and a GREAT variety. The store layout is a little weird, especially with the angular aisles etc because it makes it hard to navigate and get around people. But it's a very nice and clean store. Prices are VERY high though!!!
google avatar

Kathryn C.

Yelp
I love this store! It's not the cheapest, but it has everything that I need when I go grocery shopping. Its baked goods are yummy and taste homemade. It also has a great cheese section, and carries even the most exotic ingredients that some of my recipes ask for. It also has great natural toiletries, high quality produce, a nice greeting card section, unique gifts, and the newspaper! I am so glad that it's in Bend!!

Ben S.

Yelp
My favorite thing about this store is the huge deli and food selection as well as the meat and fish department. The reason for two stars is because first it's expensive but we all expect that here. Second and more importantly for me, it's literally 6:30 pm on a Friday night, DINNER TIME and there is NO FOOD OUT! NOTHING! There's about 9 of us walking around looking for something to eat and staring at each other wondering who's idea it is to remove everything so early. This place as slipped up big time. It used to be terrific but it's just not anymore.
google avatar

Leece H.

Yelp
Best name for this place is "Market of Privilege." The most high end supermarket I've ever been in. Puts Whole Foods to shame. Be prepared to pay through the nose and have a selection of items that rivals none.

B R.

Yelp
on top of being an overpriced store, the person at the coffee shop was rude and annoyed that she had to get us an Italian soda, don't think I will order anything else there
google avatar

Andy B.

Yelp
Wine selection is brilliant. Shoutout to the very helpful wine guy who recommended Love, Washington for dinner. Most delicious Pinot noir I've had in a while.
google avatar

Luke M.

Yelp
It reminds me of like a New Seasons or Chucks Produce. Everything is very expensive, and too many liberals in that store. That's what it screams to me. There's a couple neat things

Anne L.

Yelp
This is a strange store that somehow is really useful and not bad on prices. They have both kinds of stores. Natural foods and typical grocery items plus a great bakery and hot bar. Some of the employees seem pretty miserable though.

Angela L.

Yelp
First, I need to say we don't do our everyday shopping here, but use the market as a restaurant for take away. We love their sugar cookies!! The perfect balance of a not-too-sweet cookie and just sweet enough beautiful dipped frosting! One of our favorites! We also like the to-go soups. The deli is a big favorite with our teens as everyone can find something the like that is good quality and tasty. While I think the regular groceries are a bit spendy, we always shop here when in town.
google avatar

Jane U.

Yelp
We stopped in to get a "party tray" to take to a friend's birthday; being from out of town, we figured there would be a selection or an example with an array of suggestions. Unfortunately, neither. Terri came to the rescue when she saw us just kind of standing there, talking about what to do as an alternate. We told her what we were thinking and she knew just what to do: she took the bottom of the wooden "box" a wheel of cheese comes in using it as a tray and then she and Erin proceeded to offer suggestions for a nice selection of charcuterie, crackers and fruit. Et voila: a beautiful party tray on the run! Kudos to Terri and Erin!
google avatar

Susan W.

Yelp
Great selection of food and other things as well. So much better than your regular grocery store!

Clarence S.

Yelp
Best MOC. I miss the old spoons, the white ones. Not a fan of the new green ones. Overall, great MOC

Ann B.

Yelp
I would like to thank Kimmi that works in the Deli. She was very kind and helped me make choices. Very helpful.
google avatar

Robin S.

Yelp
Nice market along the lines of Whole Foods, EarthFare, Sprouts, etc. Easy access, plenty of parking, decent prices, great selection.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
This market is fabulous! We stopped in while we were visiting from out of town, and we just couldn't get over the awesome selection in all of their outer departments. The bakery was beautiful, all of the cakes and desserts, so much wonderful variety. The deli department, had so many interesting cheeses and meats and snack items, fantastic! But more than anything the beer and wine selection was totally top notch, endless varieties of beer to choose from, and hard to find favorites. Its a beautifully laid out store with lots of unique and wonderful choices, I highly recommend stopping in and checking them out.
google avatar

Anne J.

Yelp
Charmingly reminds me of Whole Foods with its lively dynamic before they were taken over by Amazon. Prices? You get what you pay for! Uber expensive, bordering on insulting at times. But it comes with a quality assurance, and the goodwill of owner employees of which there were many. The bakery goods were pieces of art for the eyes to behold; unfortunately, not all tasted so artful. For example, lime filling was rubbery. Fish/meat/poultry & cheese & beer staff helpful. Don't see the need for devoting supermarket space to decorative knick-knacks. Overall, it's nice to have variety in purveyors of food in the community.
google avatar

Joey H.

Yelp
Mega expensive and chintsy, this store has extremely odd rules and strange, rare products as well.
google avatar

Anthony B.

Yelp
Market of Choice? Not any longer. I'll do my shopping at Whole Foods and Newport Avenue Market. I'd like to be treated like a valued customer by a friendly staff. Why do the cashiers ask if you would like a receipt? Are they trying to save paper? How would I know if I was wrongly charged or needed to return an item?
google avatar

Michele R.

Yelp
I came. I saw. I shopped. Five times in six days to make a dozen'ish different entrees with sides for two to four people. I liked shopping here. It seems to be the "best of" for Fred Meyer and Whole Foods combined with Newport Avenue Market-esque friendly staff. The latter comment is high praise. I lived in Bend for 16 years and my heart still belongs to Newport Avenue Market as my favorite of all groceries in town for their extraordinary service and for their top notch products. But if I still lived in Bend, I'd find my way to MOC from time to time too. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED: The MOC mission is posted on the wall near check out. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/market-of-choice-bend?select=uTcbMgg8qYSSnrsxb7SKtw On our second day of shopping, the woman at the check out counter asked my husband and me if we found everything we needed. Yes, we said, the store was logically arranged and it was quite easy to do, fun even. She replied, with a tone of genuineness in her voice, "Oh good! It is our goal to make shopping delightful." Mission accomplished that day. WHAT I LIKE...in addition to the friendly and helpful staff is ...logical layout of store with ample lighting and space in aisles to make shopping easy ...many local Bend products and many products from the Willamette Valley ...wine steward, Cameron, formerly of Whole Foods now runs the wine and beer here ...prepared foods case has a big array of choices ...bulk bins with good quality product in them ...salad bar and olive bar with choices kept well maintained. ..salumeria case includes options like Spanish Lomo Soltado and Salumi brand Pancetta and a guy behind the counter who knows how to cut these correctly plus Olympic Provisions real Frankfurters ...extensive selection of high quality cheeses both domestic and imported ... in house bakery but they also carry local products like Village Baker breads (which they will happily slice if you ask) and Sparrow pastries (like Ocean Rolls) and other quality pre made items like Blue Raeven (not a typo) fruit pies (McMinnville) ...fresh baked pizzas by the slice and the pizza maker was even hand tossing the dough. ...fish case and butcher case staffed by people who could answer questions. (Newport is still my go to for fish and meat, however, then Whole Foods.) THIS N THAT: 1) PARKING: Less "bumper car" lot than Newport's. Not as big as Whole Foods. This is clearly a "tourists who shop for convenience meals" destination and good to keep in mind as certain 'take out meal' times of day around lunch and dinner hours the parking lot is packed. (Bend's 3.5 Million tourists in a town of 85,000 residents is one of the key reasons I moved.) 2) ACCESSIBILITY: Accessible parking in lot, level in and throughout the store, upper level with loos and eat-in seating via elevator. 3) EAT IN: A few tables off the bakery, near a fireplace which should be handy in Bend's winters, and more upstairs on mezzanine, some outside. 4) LOO: Upstairs. Spacious and sparkly clean.
google avatar

Robin F.

Yelp
Stupendous market! Crazy good Sparrow Bakery ocean rolls and breakfast sandwiches! Cards, flowers, health goods, Thump coffee, fresh Everything! I could spend hours shopping here. Gifts, local food items like honey. Beautiful & so clean! You never have to go anywhere else. Sandwiches and things for picnics on the Deschutes River. Cashiers always happy and engaging (must like thier jobs). Great vibe all day. So many choices of yogurts, meats, cheeses...... sorry I could go on. You have the idea. Go shopping!
google avatar

Rick J.

Yelp
So happy to have MoC here in Bend. Great opening morning shopping in the new market Everyone here has put together a great store. Coffee and muffins upon entry were wonderful and the store is stocked to perfection. For sure there are other local option but MoC fits in and is in a great location next to out favorite pet store Mud Bay, and a Starbucks. Enjoy this market
google avatar

Casey P.

Yelp
I absolutely love this grocery store but I'd love to see them step into the 21st century. Their website is very elementary, there's no curbside ordering or delivery. I absolutely love their bakery but was just informed by the local store that they're no longer taking orders because they're too short-staffed. I used to love their salad bar but no one seems to be able to tell me when it's coming back. They're making shopping at Newport or WF more and more attractive every day.
google avatar

Alfred S.

Yelp
Overpriced!!!!!!! Too much designer junk food. Many of the products we bought were just not so good. Some services were not available like the deli counter. Quality of the fruits and vegetables was very good. Great staff. So are you ready to spend more money for similar goods available at Safeway for a more yuppie shopping experience. Look behind the veneer!

Kathy C.

Yelp
I'm reviewing the bakery... Bought a birthday cake for my son and it was stale and almost like it was in the freezer too long my daughters birthday was this last weekend and I bought a birthday cake for her there giving market of choice a second chance and the cake was terrible extremely expensive stale and the frosting was crispy dry on top it looked fabulous but tasted like crap and that's being nice. No more chances for cake's!! Cakes make the party special, especially when you are paying top dollar!!!
google avatar

Clara K.

Yelp
A great market in Bend, lots of healthy choices and local produce. They label local products so it's easy to spot them. Nicely organized with great service! I've been going there and ran into some difficulties and the manager Amber always has been such a wonderful help with amazing customer service! I highly recommend shopping here if you are in town.

Natalie M.

Yelp
We were on vacation in Sunriver and I needed a cake to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I knew people at home had said Market of Choice had a reliable, quality bakery so I figured the one in Bend was worth a try. They did not disappoint! The woman in the bakery who helped me was very kind and helpful. She took time to explain the different cake flavors and was happy to write on the cake free of charge. It was a satisfying customer service experience I haven't had in years. And the vanilla fudge cake was delicious!
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
Super friendly staff who are willing to help at any time! Nice deli, cheese shop, meat selection and produce and really everything in between! The store is clean and well organized and really a great one stop market with a cute "bar" in the back if you want a snack and a glass of wine or beer! What more could you want?

Yelp
I went to MOC at least 3 times a week and get Breakfast from the Hot Food Bar. This morning is the last time I made my choice to stop there cause this is happened not once, or twice and at least more than 4 times since Thanksgiving Day of 2017. When I found the bar is empty, I asked employee from kitchen, why it's empty? The answer is always the same..."our breakfast is so popular". My visits were always before 10am so they still have one hour to served the breakfast till transition time 11 - 11.30 am for lunch items. Well, if your breakfast is so popular, why don't you make more so you can sell more and less unhappy customers like me complaining and write a one star review on Yelp?

Pete M.

Yelp
I enjoy shopping at MOC from time to time, particularly for the deli choices when my family wants a quick but delicious meal to take home. There are specialty foods that I haven't found in other grocery stores. It's also a great place to grab a great bottle of wine. I got a great recommendation from the wine associate that was very enjoyable and within my desired price point. For the Fourth of July we wanted it quick and simple on our day off, and MOC had some great salad options at the deli area. We especially liked the brocolli burst salad. There is also a fantastic selection at the meat counter for grilling. MOC - I can count on quality service and foods.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
I have only been here a couple of times but really beginning to like this grocery store. Seems to be much fresher and more choices than Whole Foods. Their prices are actually lower than you would think for such a upscale store. They also have a good salad bar and hot food to go or to eat there. Very nice growler refill station with some choices I have not seen elsewhere. Quick check out with no lines while I was there. Lots of parking in a large lot.
google avatar

Bend M.

Yelp
Update Good: The roasted chickens. Best quality in town! Bulk bin assortment. Beer/wine/mixer assortment. The breakfast burritos. Amazing. But filled with ingredients that you probably only want to eat once in a blue moon. Deli meats. Decor. Cleanliness. Wonderful staff. No bueno: No organic options for the hot noodle bar. Offering an organic tofu or soy beans or spinach would be awfully nice considering what's in the conventional versions. No organic options in the salad bar. This seems crazy to me. A grocery store of this caliber serving generic, pesticide covered salad ingredients seems foolish when you can go to Whole Foods and get a better bar with everything organic for only a dollar more a pound. Soups and deli offerings. Meh. Newport Market has them beat here by a mile. Despite the middle channel in the parking lot offering parking on one side, which is smart, people park on both sides. Some signage would be great here.
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
Amazing place. Always stocked with everything I need. If it's not on the shelf there are always staff around to go check the back. Special orders. Great bakery. Fruit and veggies. Plants and everything you want or need!
google avatar

April H.

Yelp
What a fantastic market! If you are staying in Bend and need to do some shopping this is a good place to go. They have all the groceries you would want or need and most a local or "craft" better quality items. They have a really nice selection of coffee and beer. The deli area has a lot of fresh items that are already made and just need to be reheated. If you don't want to cook or just want to grab something easy this is a great option. We got an assortment of items and were happy with each selection.
