Market on the Mountain

Yes, it’s a little pricier but there’s nothing else like this market on Lookout Mountain that we know of! Went for some sandwiches and they were DELICIOUS. 9.99$— they were filling and used all fresh ingredients! They have some local items which is nice. And all of the basics you could possibly need without having to go down the mountain. Would go again!

I was with 2 others that had a weiner in a biscuits..and tea!! They thoroughly enjoyed . the service was good the atmosphere was great!!! The bathroom was clean. The people and the decor made the atmosphere great!!

Every community needs one of these markets! It's convenient if you forgot a loaf of bread or you need to pick up a ready-made meal. They have a wide selection of grocery and I have LOVED every meal I have brought home! Not to mention the people, they're worth sticking your head in and saying hi to even if you don't need anything if that tells you anything. This place is just perfect!

We originally were going to grab coffee at Canopy after visiting Rock City, however they were closed. We popped into Market on the Mountain and were immediately greeted with such kindness and warmth. We grabbed a sandwich and it was beyond delicious! We enjoyed everything about the market and everything they had to offer.

Interesting delicious and market. It caters to the locals on lookout so has a mix of high end foods and basic staples.

I always pop in when on the mountain delivering orders or visiting friends. Sissy has curated and brought in some amazing products. The creole tomato sauce on crab cakes or to make a shrimp salad is to die for!!! They also make amazing sandwiches for a picnic in Point Park or at the Commons. Great little candy section for the kiddos and delicious salads and take home dinner!

When the 2 sisters worked there, we received consistently good sandwiches & good service. However the last 2 times we called in an order, the lady hung up before we finished our order. We figured she was busy, but when we picked our very small sandwiches, the lady was rude & didn’t maintain eye contact. Disappointed . . . . We are willing to try again since it’s been good in the past.

Convenient store! Really clean, accommodating staff, very friendly, they wipe everything after customers leave, and as my wife is pregnant we are taking as many precautions as we can, we feel safe shopping here. They even give treats to my dog when they see him waiting in the car! Sad that sometimes I have to wait outside because of some entitled, selfish people who refuse to wear a mask and fight back to cashiers who have nothing to do with mandates and are putting their lives at risk everyday for them.

We stopped for sandwich and dessert to take on a picnic outdoors on top of lookout mountain. We decided to eat at the Presbyterian College on top of Lookout Mountain. It was really nice and clean, classy and beautiful views. The food was outstanding and we really enjoyed the egg salad and chicken salad plus a couple of turkey sandwiches. The desserts - strawberry cake and chocolate peanut butter cup cake were outstanding. The establishment offers lists of things to purchase and take home/to the hotel for heating up or eating at home too. This is a cool place that was very enjoyable and I highly recommend it (despite the 86 or so health score on the last inspection).

We were looking for a light lunch to take to a picnic table before more sightseeing and found this little gem. We got our choice of bread, sideline meat (lots to choose from) and toppings. The sandwich was very good and exactly what we wanted. They have a wide variety of if snack food, drinks, and other groceries, as well.

The market has a great selection in the store. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The deli has a nice selection of meats and cheeses. I ordered deli sandwiches for our family and I felt they were too pricey ($10) for a lunch meat sandwich.

We were renting a Lookout Mountain VRBO for 2 nights and needed groceries. It was so nice to find this well-stocked grocery on the mountain. We loved the choices of interesting breads, cheeses, deli salads and bakery. Highly recommend this grocery in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood!

Feels like a market you'd find on Martha's Vineyard... great variety of high end products, without the high end price or "stuffiness." Workers were super helpful and kind. The lady even offered me her personal batch of snacks to sample, and the gentleman behind the deli counter suggested a few hikes I could do in the area, after my flight was cancelled. Best cancellation! Got 1/2 lb of their popular chicken almond salad. Perfect ratio of crispy sliced almonds, shredded chicken, acid from an squeeze of lemon, a subtle tarragon undertone, and ample salt and pepper. Perfect!! And it didn't break the bank. Also got the broccoli salad. Tasty, but a little dry. They were sold out of their popular house made desserts. Got the almond bar. Pass for me. A little too much crust and sweet frosting. Great selection of sweet and savory snacks. Just need a few more made in TN for tourists like me :). Took my picnic to sunset rock and enjoyed a gorgeous view and delicious food! Thank you!!

A quick stop for coffee was a nice surprise! A small mini-market attached to a gas station, very clean and helpful staff. The guy even offered to special order in items if we wanted something.

This lovely market is actually called Market on the Mountain and moved to a more visible location in the same strip as Café on the Corner. Lovely country market with a little bit of everything. Staff is always helpful and kind. We loved the wonderful selection they carried of quality brands both local and domestic. Can't wait to go back! Address: 812 Scenic Hwy, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350

Great little grocery store on top of Lookout Mountain. Recommend if you just need a quick grocery stop and decent bottle of wine.

A great place to have on the mountain. Food is wonderful and selections are bountiful. Everyone that works there is a joy.

This place is a lifesaver!! We were going to another restaurant for lunch but found out we would have to pay a high fee for an attraction to access the restaurant. By the time we figured out that restaurant wasn't going to work, we were starving! We wandered into the market and saw they make sandwiches which worked great. We had three sandwiches... turkey, chicken salad and ham and each one was very yummy! We ended up going back the next day on purpose that day we took our sandwiches to the park and enjoyed a picnic. For the value, this is a FANTASTIC option!! Will return next time we are on Lookout Mountain

Such a treat to visit this special little market on Lookout Mountain. Wonderful deli with Boars Head meats, cheeses and other prepared foods. Their almond chicken salad is divine, as are their homemade soups, various casseroles and daily features. They stock some staple grocery items but specialize in gourmet goodies. Well worth the experience!

Sadly, this great little spot has closed! (it's June 7, 2019 today!)...Just as I am moving to the area! Surely there is someone with the foresight to duplicate this great spot for pick-up well-prepared foods and other items. The populous needs a spot like Mountain Market!

Consistently friendly service, great selection, excellent deli case and prepared foods. Do yourself a favor.

As a transplant to the area, I'd come to terms with not getting Graeter's Ice Cream (Cincinnati, OH) or Ale-8's (Kentucky), unless I head north. I was pleasantly surprised to find both of these in Mountain Market. In addition to my glutinous treats, they have great options for dry goods, produce, meats, and frozen items. It was a nice and welcomed surprise! Go check it out!

I've been here many times and they have so many options and foods to choose from. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Okay here's what you do. Come by here and grab a sandwich, chips, drink & lemon bar (or other dessert) and take it to Sunset Rock or Pilot Point for a picnic lunch with a view. The staff here are so friendly and helpful. The sandwich was fresh and delicious. Perfectly ripe tomatoes and great turkey meat. The PERFECT picnic lunch for $12. Skip the tourist restaurants and treat yourself here. That lemon bar was legit!

A wonderful little market and deli! Small selection of groceries and drinks. Some fresh produce and a great little deli. Had a club sandwich (try the horseradish cheddar). Would recommend this to anyone! Great people and great food.
