Coterie Brings All-Day Dining to Downtown’s Market Square Tower | Eater Houston

"Opening this summer in the Market Square Tower high-rise downtown, this new all-day restaurant is a project from coffee entrepreneurs Sean Marshall (of Fusion Beans and Southside Espresso) and developer Charles Lusk; neither has a traditional full-service restaurant background. The 1,500-square-foot space will be furnished with handmade Italian furniture and decor and centers on a walk-in wine room where diners can tour the wine list before ordering. Service will run all day — including breakfast and late-night — and the menu, which is said to change seasonally, has not yet announced a head chef. Given Marshall’s 2012 founding of Southside Espresso on Westheimer, prominent coffee and caffeinated offerings are likely." - Amy McCarthy

i waited until i stayed here at least a year to leave a review! its been almost a year and i have had a stellar experience. i say 'stellar' despite relatively minor nuisances, including the construction. i moved in after much of the storm related damage and it has been ongoing. however, management has been great in providing updates! // maintenance request? timely in being answered and addressed. // parking? assigned and the entry/exit doors and gates work [crazy i have mention that but ive heard thats a big deal] and always feel secure even during the holiday season...we had addl onsite security. // concierge/valet? everyone is pleasant! they are doing a job in an environment of high expectations and appreciate them! // amenities and activities? amenities ive used have always worked without issue! i do wish we could do a "mid" on the steam room though! great activities hosted through the week! // Overall: its great! even my guests say so. ive owned and leased (SFH, multi-family) many places .. i dont HAVE to stay here and love that MST is definitely meeting expectations that i choose to continue to stay!

5 stars do not do justice to MST. I would easily give more. It's not lost on me that its easily the best place to live in Houston, even if you are not working in downtown (b/c then you are going against the traffic). They offer free charging for EVs, which is a great life hack. The building offers storage units in the basement. And the amenities and views are out of this world with a sauna and steam room, jacuzzi, a basketball court, table tennis, excellent coffee machines, a movie theatre, multiple pools, a golf simulator etc. The building admin is outstanding - super friendly and understanding and keeps organizing fun stuff throughout the year. Special shout out to Kelly, Sarah, Leo, and Victor! Not to mention the concierge staff who are incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Any complaint/repair request is redressed that very day or the next day. I am not sure if there is any room for improvement at MST!

What a great place to live! Insane amenities and top notch staff. Very dog friendly and a pool to die for. Don’t get me started on the coffee and weekly events 😍

A perfect retreat for couples! The space is bright and modern, featuring a spacious bathroom with a tub. The rooftop boasts an incredible glass pool that's absolutely stunning. It's so captivating, you might just lose track of time there 🤍. @ksyfate

This is my first year at Market Square Tower and I couldn't be more happy. I traveled to Houston for a week and during that time toured every noteworthy high rise and many mid-rises inside the loop. To me there was no competition, MST is famous for its extensive amenities and yes, the buildings unique placement down down gives it some of the best views in the city; but what is spoken about less is the wonderful community that lives here. Management hosts several events a month, (weekly Champagne & Yoga, fitness boot camps paired with onsite smoothie vendors, pop up surprise breakfasts & lunches and usually at least 1-2 large parties a month) this coupled with the resident only Sky Lounge has really fostered a community that cares about the property. I visited other very nice high rises with very nice amenities, but they all felt like empty hotels, with very little pride of ownership from the residents. That is not the case at MST, the whole place feels like a home. As a new resident to Houston this has really made my transition to the area seamless. Maintenance, Valet, the Concierge, everyone feels like family while still maintaining the appropriate distance and professionalism. I remember once making a joke to the concierge in passing that the'"Skee Ball" machine wasn't lighting up. MST has a full arcade, and it's kept in great shape, I meant the comment as a light hearted joke. The attendant looked with complete seriousness, apologized and had someone onsite making the required repairs immediately. It is with this sense of urgency that even the most trivial request is met with. When I host guests I am never concerned that an amenity will be broken or that I will open a door to an unkept common room, it is a building I am always proud to share with my loved ones. I always feel listened to, and that my concerns as a resident are heard, addressed and taken in a serious manner. The management staff here truly does their best to find a way to answer every request with a "yes" and on the rare occasions where a request cannot be accommodated it is answered with an honest explanation and breakdown of everything they did to try to make it work. I have never been brushed off or left in the dark by the management team here. Finally if you're new to high rise living, my polite advice is this; do not make your decision solely on the building itself but also pay attention to the management team and leasing agent. These are the people you are going to be interfacing with when you have a problem or need a favor and should you find yourself in that situation there is no better team than Leo, Victor, and Kelly. I look forward to calling Market Square Tower home for a very long time.

Google
I've been living here since June 2023 and the Management team has been nothing short of spectacular. I moved from a "high end property" in Galleria that had fallen to bad management and was not a safe place to live at anymore. Leonardo, Victor, Kelly and the rest of the staff have been amazing at making me and my children feel welcome and address any issue very promptly and politely. The Concierge and Valets are all great and very welcoming and helping in every regard. The amenities are bar none the best in the city. Everything is always working and clean. They make a sincere effort to look out for the residents. My neighbors are great as well, have made many friends with the families in the building. Looking forward to many more years here and would highly recommend anyone looking for a no non-sense amazing place to live to come to MST. (And put me down as a referral!! haha)

Google
OK, me and the bf have been taking 2-3 apartment tours every weekend trying to find our next spot. He's a pretty low key guy and I could tell that he really didn't care one way or the other UNTIL we toured Market Square Tower. The light has returned to his eyes and I highly highly recommend DeAndre when asking for a tour. It was a 10 out of 10 experience, this is downtown living at its finest!

Google
It’s an amazing property under great management! My team took a tour of the facilities and some of the models! I’d be delighted to show you a luxury rental in the HOT Downtown Houston area!

Yelp
Never been happier. This is coming from someone who has always lived in a home. I have never lived in an apartment so this was a 50/50 shot and I love it here. I'll never move back to my home or any home for that matter. This place is great. Everyone that works here is top notch. On a whim my girl and I roll up on a Sunday and are greeted by Leo. We didn't have an appointment but it didn't matter because Leo was simply top notch. I toured 3 other places in downtown and this felt like home right away. I knew I would move here. Leo was such a pro! He showed us three units that day. I think came back like 3 more times and he graciously showed me more units. The concierge is top notch! All the young men and women that work the front desk and very helpful! Same with valet ! All top notch pros. Very happy with my decision. This property is being ran right! Victor is doing a great job here. Nothing but a good experience! 5 stars

Yelp
A friend lives here. BEAUTIFUL!!! I couldn't believe it was all apartments, like a 50 story complex! EXPENSIVE AS FK!! but he believes it to be worth it!! There's a full size basketball court, movie theatre, rooftop lounge with a bar/bartender (seemed like a nice little lounge/club), 2 pools, hot tubs, a children's playground on site, plenty of office space to work out of, mail room, concierge, valet, you can pay to reserve a parking spot for your electronic vehicle. And So much more! This place is just gorgeous!! I prob. wouldn't want to leave it I moved here Washer/dryer in the apartments, plenty of space The apartment windows are high and no curtains (if that's your thing;0))

Yelp
Update: We have moved from Market Square Tower only because we purchased a brand new home, Our time a Market Square was amazing from the time of move in to our departure. The staff really gets to know you by name not just face and that alone was nothing short of amazing. When I had a maintenance request it was always done in a timely manner, we had to get use to the app for entering the building and getting into your high rise and amenities but once all the kinks were worked out it was awesome a higher sense of security was well worth the confusion and disappointment at first start. I would definitely recommend living at this high end high rise in the city, my year here was one for the books and I enjoyed every moment.

Yelp
unbelievable, upscale unmatched views of the city, convenient, contemporary, and continental. What can I say about this fabulous space Market Square Tower? interior read is absolutely gorgeous. In fact the bathroom looks like it could be apartment in New York City. It's so spacious the city abound. for your guest you can offer there's also a tavern located on the first floor. concierge service doesn't miss a beat. A wonderful place to meet up or if you're fortunate to reside in.

Yelp
The valet drivers are the best I have ever seen! Better than a five star hotel every day in all weather. They make coming home an absolute joy! I would not live anywhere else because of them. Also Leonardo in leasing is incredible. He really knows how to help people and make it go smoothly. Sarah is incredible too. The concierge is 24/7 and they are on it. The restaurant "Hearsay by Tavern" does room service for a $3.00 fee. They are all service-oriented people making the whole experience of living here luxurious and homey! I love it here.

Yelp
The way they handle the application process Make things more clear when applying. The run around talking to multiple people instead dealing with only one thru the whole application process

Yelp
Not to be confused with Sarcy Mare Tower, which is when a very sassy horse owns a tall building. This is a gorgeous huge building with some of the best views in downtown Houston as far as apartments go, and you will pay a premium in terms of the price for that exact reason. It's still really good and gorgeous, and we would definitely stay here and live here if money was no object and we wanted to live downtown. I haven't been exposed to quite as much shadiness and major red flags from my investigations into living here, as with some of the very very shady properties over in Montrose and The Heights.

Yelp
I did not have hot water for the first three months I lived there. Even after, I sometimes had hot water and if I did it took 10-15 minutes to get hot which ran up my water bill. I just had to suck it up. The touch up painting was shoddy. The apartments feel dated. Rarely did the doors to the garage lock which I alerted the maintenance crew several times as a security risk. There were two cars stolen and rammed through the gate. I saw people toting guns when I was in the elevator. Just a 9mm hanging out of the pocket in some sweatpants. You can only take two people to the upper pool deck and it gets crowded up there. It is can be a bit chilly on the pool deck since it is so windy that high. The staff was polite, but I felt it was a pretty disappointing experience after spending 3350 a month for a one bedroom. I regret that lease.

Yelp
For the amount you pay to live here it should really feel a bit more luxurious. The staff have always been great and that's the reason why I am giving 4 stars, but $7000 for a 2 bedroom with an office... just go buy a house.

Yelp
Lived here for 3 years after moving back to Houston from NY. Absolutely one of a kind apartment tower in Houston. I looked everywhere, and this was the only building that didn't feel "cheesy" or like every other rental building. It feels more like a condo between the interior design, amenities, and service. Also, the LOCATION is amazing - you can't beat it. This is the place to live if you like pedestrian-style living, luxury, and convenience.

Yelp
We love MST too much! The staff is always sweet and helpful, it feels well kept, and the amenities are incredible. They really make it to where you don't even have to leave -- from valet and 24-hr, concierge services to two pools, steam room, sauna, spray tan booth, to food trucks outside, a restaurant with full bar coming soon, dog services, COVID testing, blood drives, the most convenient mail & package system, aestheticians, masseuses, shoe shiner/cleaner, car wash/detail services among other daily conveniences. It doesn't stop there! They have events and activities to partake in such as painting night, movie nights, bingo, etc., and even resident appreciation events like brunch, crawfish boils etc. There are so many opportunities to meet neighbours, and I actually met my current boyfriend here! It is in a great location too -- shares space with CVS pharmacy, and is walking distance to many bars and restaurants and several parks. What a dream of a place. I can't say enough.

Yelp
Went on a tour here and these Downtown Houston luxury apartments are amazing. Friendly staff.

Joe R.

Yelp
Seemed like a dangerous crown who lived there - we didn't feel safe - the apartments also seemed overpriced for old apartments

Thomas B.

Yelp
There isn't another downtown Houston apartment as good as MST. From the management to the actual apartments, everything is better than I thought it would be. I ended up having to move for work but there isn't one thing I had any issues with

Kenneth B.

Yelp
I toured this new downtown community because downtown living appeals to me as an interesting change. I also visited several other new downtown apartments. This one was definitely the best. Great location. The leasing staff did an excellent job of giving me a great tour experience even during a pandemic. I look forward to being able to walk to the restaurants. Also, being near Discovery Green is a plus. Looking forward to moving in

Russell D.

Yelp
If you are looking for luxury high rise apartments in Houston TX like I was then this is the spot. Maintenance is great. They work very fast. The on site accommodations are good and it feels like home. No complaints. Happy to give this review.
