The 8 Best Restaurants In Rhinebeck, New York 2024

"Market Street is a modern Italian spot that serves some of the best pizza in the Hudson Valley. The pastas here are also great—if they’re offering a risotto special when you visit, that needs to be part of your order. They also have a cute little porch where you and a date can sit side by side and share a plate of chicken parm." - team infatuation, anne cruz

Market St absolutely rocks! Literally - every item on the menu looks awesome, and the daily specials make your decisions more complicated 😄 We ordered two apps and entries from the daily specials menu, which were phenomenal. AK and our service team were equally awesome and friendly. I'd gladly return anytime!

I had brunch there with friends and the food was delicious. We sat on the porch and they out together two of the cafe tables for the three of us. I had the eggs Benedict and it was perfectly seasoned. My friends had burgers which I know doesn’t sound special but all the ingredients were laid out separately on large plates. They were also willing to substitute the chicken sandwich with a burger with no hesitation. We were admiring an order of pancakes next to us so we ordered one pancake which they were happy to make for us. Endless cups of really good coffee! Most important is that our server Liam was FANTASTIC. He was attentive, respectful and we never felt pushed to leave. He was the best!

Super nice atmosphere and friendly service. Food is fresh and delicious. Defintiely more pricey for the area but totally worth it. Will be back!

Wonderful evening! Best pizza in town ~ very thin, allowing room to eat more food. We have salmon and ribeye steak, both very good. Lovely service and quality of people working here. We have been for two times now , felt very welcome here. They do outdoor dining, open feel like you are at home. Best service…🙏🏻

Google
I rarely give a restaurant 5 stars but Market Street definitely deserves it! The food is fantastic and the service was outstanding also. Our waiter, Liam, was attentive, kind and made sure we never had to ask for his help. I can highly recommend this restaurant when you find yourself in Rhinebeck, New York or the Hudson River Valley area. Well worth a visit.

Google
Fresh food, abundant waiting staff and nice ambiance ... what can go wrong with this combination? It was a mystery why we had to wait 45 minutes before our food turned up, while watching table after table of those who came after us receiving their meals. We were 4 for brunch, two ordered Eggs Benedict, one ordered Grilled Cheese Sandwich while I asked for Avocado Multigrain Toast (lactose-free vegetarian). The food was fresh and tasty, although we kept wondering where the other half of the bacon was on the Grilled Cheese Sandwich ... Our local Rhinebeck friend said this restaurant was her favorite spot in town, and alas! it sure let her down for wanting to make it our favorite too.

Google
We started our dinner with a pizza to share and an order of fries. The fries were delicious crisp and salted with a nice aoili on the side. The pizza was fantastic with pear and arugula. Was a nice medium size to share with a table. We heard market st has amazing pasta dishes, so the majority of us ordered pastas. All of the pastas were great with fresh flavors and sauces that were not overpowering or drowning the pastas. Can't go wrong with any of the pastas we had. The duck was also cooked to temp and very good as well. The desserts were ok, if you were debating between appetizers or desserts, the appetizers were definitely worth trying more. The service was great, our server was friendly and made notes on all of our needs. Will definitely visit again!

Google
There weren’t very many options in general and in terms of gluten free options. The only gluten free options were pastas and that tasted really bad. Portion size was small and the pizza was thin. Otherwise it was quick service and they were nice. I just didn’t like the food.

Yelp
My spouse and I had a nice time while at Market St. The service was great! The food was good! We split a Caesar salad, which was huge! Then we both ordered a pizza. The crust was great! Thin, crispy but had some chewiness to it too! Ambiance was cozy, but it was a bit loud. I will say I was disappointed in the chiffon cake. Typically, that style of cake is light, and fluffy. This one was dense and dry. Big thumbs down for me. I ended up getting a scoop of the Carmel gelati, which was delicious!

Yelp
we loved our meal... All the dishes and drinks were so delicious and flavorful. It's a treat of the evening with our Server AK - what a fine young man.

Yelp
This restaurant was such a wonderful surprise. We could not decide where to go on a Tuesday night when so many other restaurants are closed and luckily found this restaurant! Immediately when you enter you are greeted by a friendly hostess. The vibe inside was a rustic homey environment. Outside had both covered and uncovered seating. Service was friendly and I never felt like I had to ask for more water. Lastly and most importantly, the food was fantastic! We tried the special pizza which had a perfectly crunchy pie with a chewy soft crust. The sauce was sweet with a perfect consistency. It had eggplant and mozzarella cheese which were a great combination for both texture and taste. We also had the salmon dish which was perfectly cooked. Normally salmon comes too raw for my taste and this was flaky and buttery. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to return soon!

Yelp
This restaurant is such a cute date spot or night out! The ambiance and decor is super cute and the food is also really good! We made reservations so we got seated right away. For appetizers, we got the clam chowder which was a special and it was pretty solid. Really generous chunks of clam which was surprising. For entrees, we got the rigatoni and the caprina pizza. The rigatoni is popular here but we honestly loved the pizza way more. It was so unique and different and I highly recommend getting it! The rigatoni was okay, but the peas were undercooked so they were a bit crunchy. I honestly think the rigatoni was our least favorite thing the whole night. The dessert however was sooo good. We got the butterscotch budino and it was so so good. Definitely try it if you're here! Overall, definitely recommend this place for a night out or if you're visiting the area. We were visiting for the weekend and it was definitely the best food we had.

Yelp
With a warm and inviting atmosphere, Market St. delivers on ambiance as well as delicious food. Service was friendly and attentive, without being excessive. It's a great place for a group dinner or a romantic evening out. Definitely recommend a reservation. This neighborhood gem is a standout.

Yelp
We had a very disappointing dinner last night. The fish was of poor quality and both the fish and couscous were slathered in oil. We requested seats in the back because it is always noisy at Market St. however there a loud unpleasant sound coming from the refrigeration. The manager said there was nothing to be done about it. Really? The last meal I had there was also bad. The kale salad which I used to order quite often was too chewy and tough. The waitress Juliet was wonderful, warm and cheerful. This was always my family's go to restaurant. But we are done with Market St.

Yelp
Dinner at market Street is always a scene. Even on Wednesday, when we visited, it was busy. We had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes for a table but they do have various spots to wait comfortably. You can always go to the bar, which is almost always full when I have been there, or you can take one of the low tables across from the bar that have two seats each. Once seated, service was prompt and very friendly. Multiple people stop by to refill water, drop off drinks, and of course your service takes your order and engages the most with you. Very friendly and knowledgeable servers and staff. The ambience is always fun. Really good vibes in this place. It's services clientele of all ages, but it is very much a Rhinebeck type crowd. We ordered several things. We had the pizza special that night, pasta, puttanesca, and fries. Oh, we also got a salad. All of it was very good. I find the food a teeny bit salty, but overall the ingredients are fresh and it taste delicious. This is a very reliable go-to place. I would definitely recommend calling ahead for a reservation as they do get very busy. The food and the service is always very good. I would highly recommend it and definitely go back.

Yelp
We enjoyed our evening at Market Street. We were staying at the Journey Inn and they highly recommended this restaurant. We arrived a little early for our reservation and so sad at the bar. Service by Ashley was fantastic. She shared with us a little bit about the area and her drinks were perfectly concocted (Old fashion and martini). Good Service continued with Liam at dinner. Food was very good. They allow and encouraged half orders of appetizers and salads, although surprisingly they charge you much more than half price, which didn't seem right. Their calamari is among the best I have tried anywhere. Other highlights were the lentil soup, the gnocchi special, and the pork scallopini. The mozzarella salad was a bit disappointing. No dessert tonight but they looked like there were several very interesting and good offerings. Maybe next time

Yelp
Probably one of the most lively restaurants in the Rhinebeck area. Market St. is the perfect restaurant for any occasion--whether you're enjoying a casual dinner with family, date night or evening out. The restaurant is cozy and beautifully decorated. We sat on a table near the pizza oven but sadly none of us ordered pizza. I thought the service was excellent, especially for how busy they were. Our server asked us if we wanted lemon slices for our water and brought bread right away. As far as food, the portions were big and everything was cooked excellently. I loved the calamari, my pasta and the hazelnut gelato for dessert was amazing!!! The gelato was probably a standout alone. I would definitely recommend Market St.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants in the area that never disappoints. This place gets packed on weekends so you definitely need a reservation and for good reason, great food and service. The meatballs are always great and recently tried the shrimp which was also very nice. On our most recent visit really loved the pork entree but have tried virtually everything on the menu including the pizzas (which are perfect to share with a group). We also always love the rosemary fries which are a must as a side.

Yelp
As residents of the Rhinebeck area for nearly a decade, Market Street has been one of our standbys. Friendly and attentive staff, great for family night out, date nights and large parties with warm and homey vibe during the colder months. Love the whole roasted chicken dish and puttanesca but overall the menu is well balanced. They keep the specials fresh, our son likes to watch the fire grilled pizza oven at the tables in the back and they're often accommodating with walk-ins. A great neighborhood spot.

Yelp
Came here for the first time for after work drinks and snacks. We ordered drinks, the Wood Oven Roasted Brussels Sprouts (Wood oven roasted brussels sprouts, chorizo, pomegranate, spicy honey) and Robbiola Pizza (Robiolina cheese filled pizza, truffle oil, sea salt. Neapolitan style, wood burning brick oven). They were so delicious. We expected the pizza to be bigger but it was good. We had the Brussell sprouts because we just needed vegetables since we had just had drinks and fried food at the Beekman Arms. Lol The drinks were also good but they really didn't rock our world hence the four stars. The bar opens at 5 pm but we showed ups little earlier and they turned on the outside heaters which was so nice. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. The Rosemary popcorn was great and she kept refilling the bowl. The place filled up by the time we left so the entrees must be pretty good. I'd like to v Im me back for dinner.

Mitchell J.

Yelp
This was an excellent Italian Restaurant. The place was nicely decorated and the wait staff was very attentive. My wife and I had a tasty green salad to start. Then we both had pasta dishes for our main course. The dishes were both excellent. I had clams with spaghetti and the sauce was very flavorful. My wife also enjoyed her tagliatelle with red sauce. The only negative about the place was that it had a fairly limited choice of main courses, even with daily specials included.

Yelp
Great food and drinks in a beautiful atmosphere. But the staff. Oh the staff!! Beautiful, knowledgeable young staff who are seasoned with the best of them. Bravo!!

Yelp
Very nice experience all around with good food and service I would come again. The appetizers and entrees tasted very good

Yelp
Great food, incredible service. 5 stars! Loved everything. So much better than "Pretty I Think So" down the street. We will be back!

Yelp
Nice cute place. Excellent team service. We had our server, but everyone made sure we were taken care of. Wife had eggplant parm which was great and a salad. I had the quinoa bowl with salmon. Salmon cooked perfectly.
google avatar

Nick D.

Yelp
Great food , great service. The shrimp and gigantic bean appetizer was delicious. Pasta bolognese was the best I've had in years. Rib eye steak was perfect. The waiter was a gentleman and on top of everything

Jacque L.

Yelp
Delicious food and wine. Good service and we liked the ambiance. A bit noisy for us after 7:30 due to two quite noisy tables. Otherwise great.

Hannah G.

Yelp
We over-ordered takeout on a quiet Sunday night and tried roast chicken, farro salad with grilled vegetables, charred eggplant w smoked cheese, pasta with wild mushrooms, margherita pizza. Food was uniformly superb.

Alyssa D.

Yelp
This was the highlight of our trip to Rhinebeck. From the moment you walk in, the environment feels inviting and cozy due to the warm lighting. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My husband and I ordered the rigatoni and salmon, respectively. The salmon was the best salmon I have ever had. Would definitely be back!!
google avatar

Alisa W.

Yelp
Quaint little spot in Rhineback right off the Main Street. Although the pizza was slightly under done the flavor was great. Bartender Gabby and staff were extremely friendly.
google avatar

Cruz M.

Yelp
The food was complete garbage which is hard to achieve being that all the ingredients are locally sourced from farms, my pasta came cold and when i informed our server (she was nice) the food went to the kitchen to get "nuked" aka micro waved and came back hot and disgusting I dont know who goes out to eat and willfully spends 30 dollars on some microwaved leftovers?! Only eat here if you feel like getting completely ripped off with over priced trash

Bernadette C.

Yelp
We are from San Francisco and recently traveled to the Adirondack Mountains. We happened upon Rhinebeck on our way back to NYC. I told my husband pull over. The town was so cute and charming. We googled restaurants and ate at Market St. We had one of the best meals on our trip at Market Street. The service, the ambiance, the food were amazing. The bread, the food and even the tap wine was excellent. I would love to return to this cute town and visit Market St. I plan on telling all my friends that visit NYC and upstate this restaurant is worth the stop. We had a $500 dollar meal in NYC for 3 of us and this place hands down was superior. We even had left overs to eat on the plan back to SF. DELICIOUS!

Yelp
One of the best in Rhinebeck. Cozy atmosphere with a variety of plates. Went this past week for our second time and will be returning again soon. Note to restaurant: please put your "special" bacon and carmelized onion on the regular menu because we haven't stopped talking about it since!

Professor C.

Yelp
A disappointment last night. I come here, and Cucinni, a lot . . . and have never had anything but an exceptional experience in terms of food, ambiance and service. Last night we had some visiting celebs from out of the country and, after feeding them Italian in a hot Manhattan spot the prior night, brought them to Rhinebeck, bragging about the food. The service was the great disappointment and this is a rare occurrence at Market Street. The food was good, but not the "ohmygawd" great I've become accustomed to. I'm chalking this up as a one time anomaly. I'd certainly recommend it and will be back within the next several days and am eager to see if what we experienced was a trend or just "an off night".

Mary O.

Yelp
Just returned home from celebrating my husbands birthday, service was good, food was very disappointing . The Pizza, although perfectly cooked, with wonderful crust had barely a full slice of cheese on it ....very disappointing . Sablefish was ok , nothing special for one of the specials , the rice cold and the asparagus salty .. the steak and fries were good but overcooked , ordered med rare and served less then medium. The pork scaloppini with capers was extremely salty and the polenta watery... the chocolate cake my husband enjoyed, we live here and Rhinebeck , my husband a former Culinary Chef Instructor ...sad to say we were hoping for a night to remember but food wise we'd prefer to forget .

Sari G.

Yelp
The green salad was a bunch of greens taken out of a plastic pre washed container nothing else. We were charged 15 dollars for a 4.99 package with no flavor. The eggplant appetizer wasn't even enough for one person. The size of 4 fingers and no cheese. Just a waste. And they served my daughter tap wind in a mini glass because we didn't order a more expensive glass of wine. Go to the pizzeria down the street
google avatar

Rene B.

Yelp
What a great looking place- casually chic with very good food. Came here on an early Saturday night with no reservations. We had... Meatballs... yum Kale salad... ok .. needs more excitement. Squid - wow the calamari is very tasty Risotto with crab- very tasty but I didn't really taste the crab! Feel a little cheated. Duck leg - very good Linguine with shrimp- good Bolognese - good Budino dessert - very good and the touch of salt is killer!
google avatar

J.P. A.

Yelp
Food was really good. Atmosphere i say is always what you make it but it was very nice and cozy. Which helped us relax and wind down with glass of wine. Now the server Jake was extremely attentive and wonderful to interact with. This review got that extra star for service. We will def be back!

Conor W.

Yelp
Sets the standard for service! Warm ambience and good food. Best in Rhinebeck? Yeah, I think so

Brenda L.

Yelp
Restaurant is run by snotty children. I cook every night and chose to come here for dinner as a respite from my cooking. Should have stayed home. The calamari was good. My fusili bolognese tasted like beef~a~roni from a can. My husband's pizza was cold. And the first words from The child waitress's mouth was "we have very limited wine." Chose the Millbrook Chardonnay on tap (I live in Millbrook). It was Un-drinkable.
google avatar

Danica A.

Yelp
Third visit here not quite as enjoyable as first two. Being seated in the far back by the restrooms and having the heat associated with the pizza oven made for a rather unpleasant ambiance. Now, the in the fact that the fish was seriously overcooked and you have the recipie for an unpleasant experience. Not sure I will go back to this location. There sister restaurant in Woodstock has better specialty pizzas and a better ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
What a lovely restaurant! Upon entering, there is a coat rack near the host/hostess stand with the bar on your right. It was a pretty full house when we entered. The ambiance was warm and welcoming; low lighting, romantic yet chill. It's a great place to gather with friends and dates. The staff were professional and very accommodating to us not having reservations. We ordered the crispy squid, porcini ravioli, and garganelli. The crispy squid was tender and perfectly fried, the arrabiata sauce could have used a little more heat to kick it up a notch but the aioli was superb. The porcini ravioli was super tasty and the butter really brought out the flavor of the mushrooms. Garganelli was really tasty though I would have liked it to be a bit more saucy. I think if the pine nuts were toasted, it would have brought an extra oomph to the dish. Otherwise, it was pretty good. I would return again as the specials are just as tantalizing as the atmosphere.

Yelp
We went to Market St for dinner. We were visiting from NJ, and had spent the day skiing at Hunter Mountain. As soon as you walk in the ambience was quaint and comforting. The tea lights and overhead dim lighting were inviting. The wait staff was attentive to wanting a table a little further from the door. Our waiter was excellent!! He came by several times to check in, refill our water and gave us a thorough run down of the menu. We ordered a glass of the Italian wine per our servers recommendation which was lovely, light and paired well with our meal. For an appetizer we had the burrata which was by far our favorite. The pesto and burrata on a crostini was incredible. We even ate the left over pesto with the bread they brought out earlier. For dinner we had the Carprina pizza and the potato gnocchi. The pizza had a lovely balance of sweet and peppery and the gnocchi was filling with just a hint of truffle, not overpowering though. Ended the meal with a shot of espresso and couldn't even think about dessert though the menu looked appetizing. An incredibly cute date spot, would recommend to anyone coming to the area or staying in the Hudson valley!

Yelp
I really like their food. Most of the time it's very innovative, contemporary and prepared just right! Service is great! I also love love their oyster nights! It loses one star because of the hostess. Most of the time they seem ok, but yesterday (1/15, Tuesday), the hostess was very cold and slow. No smile, not much of greetings or interaction. My friends tried to make a reservation earlier on the phone said that she was very slow and sounded rude on the phone. Maybe it's just her personality, but could you get someone with a warm personality to be a hostess please? Wouldn't that make more sense?

Joan C.

Yelp
Really a disappointment as far as food is concerned. Meatballs were mostly breadcrumbs and served cold. The pasta with meat sauce uninspired lacking proper seasoning. When we requested both be heated and garnished with an appropriate amount of sauce our request was grudgingly and slowly accommodated. The "owner" argued with us, cursed and refused to give his name saying "Why should I ?" I was appalled as was my wife. Excuses were "We are understaffed overworked and overwhelmed." A total waste of time, an unworthy eatery. Don't go. Don't recommend this awful sad tired overrated place.
google avatar

Josh B.

Yelp
Strangely, the item that enticed me to order the soft shell crab special, the pickled ramps, was either not included or quietly blended into the sauce. I wasn't disappointed, since this was an appealing dish that made excellent use of the unglamorous duo of peas and carrots. These were fresh enough that they could have been from Dutchess County. In any case, they were not from Del Monte. The crabs, a dish I wouldn't normally pursue this far inland, were fresh and well-prepared. They were large enough so that they didn't fall into that "fried generic snack" category. The cherry soda was very refreshing. The menu has many interesting-looking appetizers but I kept it simple so I could catch my 10:00 Amtrak.

Yelp
I love this place but honestly, I came on to complain about one thing (the music), hoping the owners would see. It drives me crazy as a regular who is a musician and pays attention to the playlist as a single diner/bar fly. Food, great! Drinks, better! Staff, best! Im new to the Hudson Valley and the team at Market Street makes me feel like it's my living room. I go there an unhealthy amount, more than I am willing to admit. I always sit at the bar unless I am with a group. Renee, Nikki and Shayla are the best, make me feel at home, have great memories, know the food, and smile if the night is slow, or if the night is busy. Just go... sorry but cant go in to too much detail about what is good because it is all good. Especially the prix fixe menu for $35 and $1 oysters on Tuesday. Perfection tho is the fried calamari ,the Robbiola pizza (almost a calzone), endive salad (off the menu seasonally?) and the meatballs! What needs to be fixed: THE MUSIC. Im a regular here, I notice that the same song plays around the same time, everyday. Apparently the music is on a very small set of playlists, that start at opening time and are not on shuffle. Its so annoying to hear the same music at the same time, because I come in at almost the same time every night. Music needs to be expanded and put on shuffle, as a regular it drives me crazy, as an employee I would quit. I know there has been studies about how work lighting effects employee productivity at work. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that torturing staff with the same playlist daily decreased morale and increased errors. Food to fix: the sauce for the Bolognese (or even for any chunky meat sauce on special, I remember a rabbit special) always comes too thick. Needs to be thinned out a bit, it clings to the pasta but almost overwhelms it, overpowers it. I almost feel like more pasta, less meat... might even save the restaurant a few dollars. If you get a togo order tho, take it home, reheat it with more pasta and pasta water to loosen the sauce and you can get 2 meals out of one dish! Great for customers, bad for business. Its not a big complaint, but if the sauce was looser and leaner, guests would enjoy while saving $$$ I come here at least twice a week so take this review seriously.

Yelp
Market St. This place is great! Lively upscale Italian place in the heart of Rhinebeck. We stopped in on a Saturday night without reservations and were seated immediately, even though the place was crowded. Luckily we were right in front of the counter by the wood-fired ovens so we were entertained by the pizza chef all night. They started us off with oven-baked olives with nice sized chunks of parmesan cheese. We never had warm olives prepared this way and it was a delicious surprise. We shared a small pizza with arugula and prosciutto. Hot and thin-crusted and cooked just right. We then shared a terrific Rigatoni with sausage, peas, cream, tomato, and pepper flakes. It too was outstanding. We had a nice Sicilian wine, Puglia Rosso (Accademia dei Raceme). Our waitress Shayla was terrific and attentive.

Yelp
Fun times is what have to say. Luciano the manager is a great guy, making us feel so welcome. We started off with a cocktail, one good martini. For food we started with the shrimp with white beans, some meatballs, and a salad. For entrees some pasta, salmon and chicken. Everything was delicious.

Ken P.

Yelp
We used to love Market Street. We considered it one of the best restaurants in Rhinebeck for awhile. Unfortunately, we had a mediocre to poor dinner this past Saturday night, which is not what you would expect from an establishment with supposed CIA roots. The linguine, shrimp, garlic, jalapeño, tomato, olive oil dish could of just as easily been pasta out of a box with a jar of Ragu, and one of our partly had to return the organic quinoa bowl, kale, seasonal roasted vegetables, tahini dressing because the quinoa was not fully cooked. The atmosphere and service were good, so I am giving it at least 2 stars, however, they need to step up their menu and preparation.

Yelp
Service was exceptional! We really enjoyed the food and the drinks were phenomenal. Definitely recommend for an overall great experience and ambience.
google avatar

Yelp
Great staff with warm and intimate atmosphere all around. Love the Crispy Calamari, the Rosemary Fries, the Meatballs with polenta and my main course Linguine with shrimps. Just the right amount of heat....spicy. Do try the Witchcraft cocktail and finish off with some dessert. Their Tiramisu is like no others.

Kevin M.

Yelp
We tried to go their for dinner we were told it will be about a half hour no big deal half hour goes by and we were told we are next it will be a few mins then a party off seven came up and the hostess said it will be a half hour to 45 min because their tables are two or four tops. The hostess then gave the seven are table and another just because they can make more money them then me and my wife my suggestion is to eat elsewhere.

Yelp
I love this place, we go everything we head upstate. The pasta dishes are great and I love the drinks.

Yelp
2nd time hear. Without reservations still got a table. Wonderful staff. Delicious food. Not to be missed. Rhinebeck has gotten crazy popular.

Yelp
Did anyone say ginger margaritas? Sooo good. Tuscan fries and the bowl. And I am A happy camper !!!!
