Market Steer Steakhouse

I was here for the JBF Taste America dinner and attended the pre-dinner reception as well. The bites served during the reception were so tasty I had to hold back to make sure I had room for dinner. Every dish served during the dinner was a delightful combination of tastes, smells, textures, and visuals. I especially enjoyed the dessert of chocolate cake with almond frosting and basil ice cream. Each component was tasty, but altogether, it created an entirely different flavor that still retained each's individuality. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are attentive, considerate, and friendly. It was a great experience and I got to meet some lovely people as well.

TLDR: Food was great, service was fine, and the hostess was extremely rude. My fiancée and I had reservations for her birthday, and we were hoping for a celebratory dinner at one of Santa Fe’s many fine dining establishments. Market Steer had been on our list for quite some time due to the superb reviews but I must say our experience did not live up to our expectations. While being seated in the cramped booths by the hostess, who acknowledged my fiancée’s birthday, my fiancée accidentally knocked over a couple wine glasses. The table cloth corners were not tucked under the table and were laying on the booth so when she sat down, the cloth pulled glasses off the table. This embarrassing moment was not met with compassion, but instead a very rude quip from the hostess who seated us at a different table. For the rest of the night, there was no mention of my fiancée’s birthday nor any mention of the broken glasses from our waiter or the manager. We felt very unwelcome to everyone except the server’s assistants who boxed up our leftovers without being prompted and made pleasant small talk with us. We did notice that for the couples seated at the booths after us, the host/hostess made effort to pull the table cloths off the seats and pulled the tables out so other guests could sit without issues. The food was good, but the atmosphere is stuffy, the staff is generally arrogant, and the price is quite high. We will not be back and we look forward to reducing our list of fine dining restaurants.

This is an incredible restaurant and every time I am in town on business I make it a point to eat here. Amazing steak, service, drinks, you name it. This occasion I got the flat iron steak and was full of flavor. Cooked perfectly to medium rare. The green chili risotto is my favorite side. They really care about the food and service here. Top notch. If you are in town you must eat here. But be warned you might need a reservation a week or two in advance. One or two can get into the bar.

Upscale steakhouse in santa Fe, the service is top notch, our waiter is super attentive and really patient to explain things to us and help us to pick our meal. no pushy or upsale just good service. during our visit their AC had a problem, so the manager came over to apologize and check on us multiple times. really attention to detail and caring. we shared the bone marrow and mussels as appetizer. the mussels is a must have. i think it's the shiner bock beer really makes it very tasty. two of us shared the tomahawk for main, is big and cooked to perfection. we picked the truffle butter and peppercorn demi, they are pairing really well with the steak. the waiter recommend the mushroom as a side, which is amazing. in the end we packed our bones back home for the dogs and also packed the truffle butter home, they are so delicious not to waste. make sure to pay them a visit if you want a great steak. Reservation is needed as they are booked out way in advance.

The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all amazing. I decided to take one break from true New Mexican fare and was not disappointed in the slightest. Market Steer does not shy away from the regional taste entirely with their delicious green chili butter and the must-have green chili risotto.

Took my gf here for a special day, we had a great time. All of the staff was on point, from the moment of reception to the close of the meal. Our server (an older gentleman, can't recall his name) was awesome and even surprised us with an extra thoughtful gesture at the end of our meal, which we both appreciated. The server assistants were also on point, filling in where needed. Nobody was "too present" or "too absent", basically a perfect service if you ask me. The atmosphere was cozy and the music was nicely in the background. We both really enjoyed our food. My gf's lobster tail was cooked perfectly. The mussels were also a standout. If I recall, the house made steak sauce uses blueberries, and we both enjoyed that one the most from the flight of sauces. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of black pepper, so next time I'll see about skipping the steak rub, but the meat quality and cook was on point. We were celebrating and went a little wild with what we ordered, and both agreed we could just do a salad or two, mussels, and split a steak + side and on a normal less celebratory night, that would be plenty of food for 2 people and a great value to have a meal at such a clearly well-run establishment.

Excellent dinner topped off by the fact that the original restaurant we booked had their chef quit just before we were seated. Made a last minute change on New Year’s Eve and they found a way to seat us. The filet, scallops, and lobster bites were fantastic. Service was outstanding.

Market Steer in New Mexico delivered the best steak I've ever had, ands down. The service was just as impressive. From the moment we walked in, nothing was off the table. The team went above and beyond to ensure everything was flawless. The ambiance, the food, and the wine were all perfectly in sync, elevated yet welcoming. Be sure to ask for Jason, the onsite sommelier. His wine pairings were spot-on and brought the whole meal to life. He truly made the experience unforgettable. If you're looking for a world-class steakhouse experience, this is it. Market Steer gets everything right. Make sure you get a reservation. It will be busy. If youre visiting santa fe, dont miss out on this experience.

This is the first time we've eaten at Market Steer since their move. We have greatly enjoyed this restaurant over the years. Being a special occasion (our 36th anniversary), a perfect excuse to go back. The Market Steer in the past was excellent, but I think it has elevated itself to a higher level after the move and recent awards for the very talented chef, Kathleen Crook. This is now one of the top high-end dining experiences in Santa Fe, rivaling (but distinct from) Sazon, Restaurant Martin, and Geronimo's, all outstanding Fine Dining Restaurants. Upon seating, we were served a very delicious warm bread from the East Coast, accompanied by butter, green chile, and cream cheese (?) mix to spread on top. Wow, it's hard not to eat all this deliciousness even knowing one shouldn't fill up on it. We started with a dish we've had several times here and have to order: The Tex-Mex Mussels ($23). These Pei Mussels are incredibly tender; the green chile butter and beer sauce pair superbly with the large baguette. This is a substantial appetizer, perfect for sharing. If you like mussels, you should give them a try; you won't be disappointed. The "New Mexico Cut" featured on the menu is always sourced from Lone Mountain Wagyu of New Mexico, hence its name. The cut varies, so ask what it is that night (thus the MP, as this varies too). This night, the cut was picaña steak, also known as a culotte, which is a cut favored in Argentina, specifically a top sirloin cap. It was 6oz, a great size to split with an outstanding Lobster Tail on top ($55 for the Wagyu $25 for the Lobster Tail). It was recommended that the steak be cooked rare, which was fine with me (rare or medium-rare, heck, I'll eat Tartare, which they offer here, and I hope to try it next time). We were told it has a crust of salt and paper that can be lessened by request, but I always like to try a dish as the chef likes to make it. The Wagyu had excellent flavor, as one expects from this kind of cattle, and the crust was delicious. "Enhancements" (sauces for the beef, $5 each)? No way! If you really love the rich flavor of fine meat, skip them all. Don't cover up the amazing flavor, is my recommendation. The Lobster Tail was one of the best I've eaten in memory. With the steak, we had a side of Sautéed Haricot Verts that came with a piquillo pepper vinaigrette and spiced pecans. The Verts were perfectly cooked al dente, the sauce delicious, and the spiced pecans a great addition. The steak came with a few grilled garlic cloves, which were quite yummy. We were full, splitting all this food, but we couldn't turn down a dessert. The 'lightest' we found was a key lime cream burlee. Very unusual but excellent. The service was outstanding, and the entire team that took care of us was amazing. A special shout-out to our great head waiter, Ian. Market Steer has become one of the top premier high-end Restaurants in Santa Fe, it isn't at all surprising that just this month, Market Steer chef Kathleen Crook was selected by the James Beard Foundation for Taste America series

Came up from Albuquerque for a candlelight concert at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center and decided to do dinner before at Market Steer, due to its proximity. What an amazing experience! From incredible bacon (never knew there was such a thing as beef bacon), to roasted tomato gazpacho soup with feta and almonds, to a flavorful and tender filet with mushrooms, haricot verts, green chile risotto and finishing with the key lime brûlée. Every thing was top notch, including the service. Very impressed and we will be back!

This is a great restaurant. Amazing cocktails by friendly, engaging bartender in the beautiful bar. Great service in the dining room. Melt in your mouth steak.

Enjoyed my birthday dinner here last night. It was fabulous! We started with The Standoff (beef bacon vs. pork bacon) so good! I mean who doesn't like bacon? Half our table liked the beef bacon better and half liked the pork but it was a hard decision. We all had steaks, half of us had the New York strip and half had the filet. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. We shared some sides which were all good (mushrooms, asparagus and truffle fries) We also had 2 of the steak sauces: horseradish caramel (oddly good) and Chimichurri which was outstanding. And several cocktails which were great. The standouts were Something Clever, Tequila Mockingbird, and the best were the chocolate martinis we had for dessert. Such a great meal! It's beautiful inside and I loved the equestrian touches (the bar area is called the tack room) The entire experience was exceptional.

Delicious food, drinks and service. A must try when in Santa Fe. Worth the hype. Definitely make recommendations unless you want to chance it on the Tack Room/Bar. Great energy and atmosphere.

This was a great stop in Santa Fe. Next level service. Food was on point. The seating was cozy, but fun table neighbors added to the fun. Will be back!

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. This was our first visit and we will be back the next time we visit Santa Fe!

While our filet mignons were fabulous, our waiter was pushy about "recommending" the extra-cost sauces and expensive sides (such as $11 whipped potatoes, $12 asparagus, and $11 french fries (which were extremely well prepared). You know going in that it's going to be expensive, but our waiter tried to upsell us at every order point. Maybe he's a car salesman by day. Don't know why Yelp gives it 4 dollar signs and the Bull Ring 3 $$$. From our visit 15 months ago, the Bull Ring is even more expensive, especially their sides--though the potato au gratin was excellent, we just needed another couple to help us eat it.

I'm kinda obsessed with this place. The smoked bone marrow is AMAZING. Green chile risotto has got me wanting to try my own version. I haven't dined in the new location but went to the previous location 4x in the past 6 months. Always great service, great ambiance, and amazing food.

Market Steer was absolutely delicious! You must come to this location before they move. I have it on good authority that they will be leaving this location for another one by March. Every single dish was delectable, from the appetizers to the desserts and everything in between. We ordered tons of food and loved each dish. The stand out sides were the Brussels sprouts, the creamed spinach and the green chile risotto. The steaks were perfect, and my New Mexico cut was the best I've had in this state. Our server was fantastic, and very funny. The sommelier Tyler was great, and so was Leevee, another server, who made it a point to keep our table fresh and neat. The ambiance and decor is gorgeous.

Wonderful night with my wife celebrating our Anniversary. We were delighted to see they had Foi Gras on the menu, so ordering two of these appetizers was a must. The Cowboy Ribey was perfectly cooked, as was my wife's Filet. Paired with a bottle of one of our favorite California Cabernet's (Silver Oak). The service was 5 stars from start to finish, starting with the Maitre D checking our coat. The SA was on top of things all night and our server Will was friendly and on point. Also shout out to their wine sommelier for the education on various bottles.

I was Disappointed in my $50, 7 oz Prime Filet Mignon came out cooked correctly but was COLD. I was additional dishearten that they just just tossed it back on and heated it as to providing a new corrected $50 steak. I will say the rest of the items Shrimp Cocktail, salad, Sautéed Asparagus & Whipped Potatoes were fine. But I didn't go there for the other items.

My husband and I made reservations to eat in the outside domes which was an amazing experience and quite romantic. The domes include blankets, a heater, and a Bluetooth speaker to connect your phone to. You must email max@marketsteersteakhouse.com to make your reservations and they hold $50 a person for the reservation. (Up to 6 people) The service was excellent. And the food was outstanding. We recently moved to NM and this is my first experience where I can say it was a 10/10. If you're in Santa Fe this is a must!

After dining at MSS for dinner this evening, I must log a report that conflicts with many of my fellow Elite Yelpers. With a price point rivaling the great steakhouses in Dallas, Houston, etc., you expect an off the charts performance. MSS fell far short of the mark. So, Wednesday evening, 7:30pm, the restaurant not particularly busy, the stage was set for a spectacular dinner. Appetizer of smoked bone marrow ... way too salty. Not sure what it is about chefs and bone marrow, a thick coating of salt doesn't suit good bone marrow. The toasted bread helped tamper the salt, but it really wasn't that great. For dinner we each ordered the "New Mexico" cut steak ... a very expensive Waygu tenderloin, medium rare. What we were served was steaks barely cooked rare, purple and cold centers (check out the photos). I had a crab cake on mine, my better half got the lobster tail side. Both the crab cake and lobster tail were extremely "fishy," again for the price, you expect fresh, tasty seafood ... the lobster tail was taken away and the charge removed from the bill. My better half's tenderloin was returned to the kitchen and brought back out a few minutes later, half medium rare, half still cold and purple. For sides with dinner we had the chimichurri sauce, both very good. We ordered wine by the glass with dinner, that was good too! We decided to try dessert and an after dinner drink... lemon crème brûlée and a Brandy Alexander... the crème brûlée was just OK, again not tasting really fresh, the drink tasted strong but very milky, and was served "short," glass barely 1/2 full. Both dessert and the drink were sub-par. Some other observations... the restaurant suffered from a real lack of coordination and training of the wait staff... examples, the guy we thought was a waiter who first came to the table and brought water... we ordered wine from him, only to be greeted by our actual waiter 10 minutes later who knew nothing about the wine order. Different folks deliver the food to the table than your waiter, they have no idea what was ordered or how it was to be prepared (hence the delivery of raw $50+ steaks). The waiter was not very attentive, maybe because it wasn't that busy... empty plates and glasses sat on the table for 20-25 minutes, with the waiter and bus staff, and even a couple of mangers passing by multiple times... even when the empties were pushed to the middle of the table, they still sat there! The bus boy who finally came to clear the table after dinner asked "did you save room for dessert," and when we said, what do you have?, the response, "I don't know but I can bring you menus." So, a very disappointing evening, created by a lackadaisical staff that didn't care about the fare being served and a kitchen that didn't prepare good food. For the price tag, our time is better spent elsewhere. We cannot recommend MSS.

I had dinner here recently and really liked my meal. Overall service was good but there were a few weird moments. I got there a bit early so I had to wait a few minutes for my table. Not a big deal but when I got seated, they seated me at a table for 4 and it was just me. Seemed like they were busy and wasting a 4 person table on me was maybe not the right away to go. Overall though I had really good service and my waiter was attentive but not too attentive. They did give me a free glass of sparkling wine as I mentioned it was my birthday earlier in the week. That was a nice touch. I started with the Bacon and Butter salad: butter lettuce, house bacon, citrus goat cheese, chile lime pepitas, ancho chile buttermilk dressing. I really liked this salad. Loved all the toppings and the dressing. The dressing was not heavy or too spicy. I loved the bacon on the side - it was two thick cut pieces. Yum! For my entree, I had the 7 oz Prime Filet Mignon with Béarnaise and roasted mushrooms. My steak was very flavorful and cooked to my liking. Some pink inside but not too red. The sauce was flavorful and buttery. The mushrooms were good too - not my favorite mix of mushrooms but overall tasty. For dessert, I had the bourbon bread pudding at the recommendation of the waiter. I guess it takes 4 days to make. I am not normally a big bread pudding fan but this was good. Not too heavy, very flavorful, not a strong alcohol flavor which I prefer. Overall a very nice dinner and they treated me well.

My date i went here 12/12 for birthday dinner and cocktails. Our first time eating here. Dinner reservations were at 5:45. The team and Marcos were terrific!! Their meal was superior!! Thank you so much. See you soon! Jessie and Tom

Fantastic food and friendly staff. All the recommendations were great and the pace of service was perfect.

The ribeye steak and shrimp were excellent. The staff were super friendly and the locals were great company with which to converse. If ever back in Hurricane, I will go again

Vibe, service, cocktails were the favorite. Food was good. It's definitely a worthwhile date night restaurant to go to.

The ambiance and location are definitely the highlights of this spot--very inviting and well-designed. However, the service took a while to pick up, though the staff were friendly and helpful once things got moving. The food was good, but frankly overpriced. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were made from instant mix with an overwhelming amount of butter. Our total bill came to $500 for four adults, which included a bottle of wine and six cocktails. While we had an enjoyable time, the price didn't quite match the quality of the food. I would recommend it for the atmosphere, but be prepared for the steep prices.

Let me start by saying this was one of the best steakhouse experiences I have ever had. The service was top notch, the environment was perfect, and the food, OMG, so good. We had a 5 PM reservation for 4, we were greeted right away and with other patrons arriving we were all asked for our coats for a coat check. We were seated as they could get to us since they open at 5 and there were several people who had the same reservation time. Once seated we were offered water etc. and shortly after another person came over for a drink order and so on. I have to say, they were super attentive! We perused the drink menu and placed an order. After looking over the menu and discussing what to order we ready to go. And this is what we ordered: Prime New York Steak (w/Peppercorn Demi) Prime Filet Mignon Seafood Newburg Pasta Wedge Salad Bacon and Butter Salad Branding Iron Onion Rings Green Chili Risotto Parmesan Truffle Fries Whipped Potatoes Mack n' Jack Our waitress was on her game. She was extremely knowledgeable about the specials, menu items etc. We asked her to just bring out things as they were prepared. She said the Onion Rings would be out first as they do not take long and here they came. I should have taken a picture but it was a tower of huge rings. And the were delicious with both the house made ketchup and steak sauce. OH, the bread and the green chili butter they bring out first was so good. The butter is killer, if you like a little spicy flavor. (More on the butter later). Then the Truffle fries came out, large basket and they were delicious as well. Then the salads, a couple sides and then our entrees. It was full on chow time now. The steak was superior, bot the New York and the Filet. My wife and I shared so we could try both. Then the last of the sides arrived, one of which was the whipped potatoes and what looked like brown gravy that I assumed was for the whipped potatoes. Later after I was about half way through my steak my daughter told me that it was my Peppercorn Demi. So I gave it a dip and oh baby, delicious. But I was glad I ate half without to get the plain steak flavor before the Demi. But that just took the steak to another level. When our waitress came back towards the end of our meal I just had to ask, partly jokingly, if they sold the green chili butter by the pound. I was pleasantly surprised that they sell the little tubs. We bought 2! It is a bit on the pricey side but all the work they go through for the steaks and the aging, well worth it. I would recommend them to anyone. I look forward to coming back in future visits to Santa Fe!u

Visited here Thursday, October 6, 2022. This was our second-choice steakhouse as the nearby Bull Ring was closed. This steakhouse is inside the Hotel Saint Francis and is extremely busy. A reservation is highly recommended. When we arrived, the wait quoted was too long. We decided to sit in the bar at the advice of the hostess. This area had an open table immediately. We sat in a corner, near a door to the outside seating. It smelled of cigarettes. We surmised someone had been smoking outside and the smoke had wafted through the uninsulated door. The prices here are very steep, but that is expected in any Santa Fe restaurant. I ordered the ten-ounce, prime, flat iron steak ($40) cooked medium. They cooked my steak perfectly and the salt and pepper gave it a nice flavor. I appreciated the roasted garlic on the side, which I smeared on the steak to increase the flavor. My wife ate the pan roasted scallops ($38) with coconut and lime rice, ginger sauce, and tapioca crisp. She liked her scallops but wanted more than just three. None of the entrees come with sides, which ordered separately range in price from $9-$35! They even charge you $4 for the steak enhancements, which include bearnaise, chimichurri, horseradish caramel, truffle butter and smoked blue cheese butter; to name a few. They have really good food here, but the entree size is rather small. The prices are high and I didn't appreciate that they nickel and dime you for things that are normally included in an entree. The cigarette smoke detracted from our enjoyment of the meal.

We had a large family celebration here and it was amazing! The steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides were delicious and dessert was sensational! Oh, the shrimp appetizer was incredible!

Poor service at the bar. Avoid it, lame service,and the feeling is we don't need you. Let's see if that is true in the long run.

We'll never know. We planned on meeting for HH, and our son & wife went in to secure a table while my wife and I parked the car. They wouldn't seat them till the entire party was present. So when my wife and I walked in the door 5-7 min later, the last couple tables in the bar were given to others. So be forewarned, they have the policy that the entire party must be present before seating...maybe we''ll try again next trip to SF.

I should have posted this review sooner, as I was just going to let it go about how awful our experience was, but it has been making me upset since we dined. My family (party of 4) went to the New Year's Eve prix fix, and had HIGH hopes - as we are frequent customers and know how great this restaurant has been in the past. This was our third time at the new location, and it couldn't have been worse. Starters were bland, we had the oysters and the beef carpaccio. Oysters overcooked and rubbery, carpaccio had zero seasoning - not even salt. Was also promised to have caviar - which you needed a magnifying glass to even find. Next were the mains, and we all ordered the rib eye - I mean its a steak house right? I have had the cowboy ribeye prior here and it was melt in your mouth delicious, however on 12/31 - it was tough, VERY undercooked, not seasoned and inedible. After about 3 bites - the rest went in the trash. Desserts were not even memorable and went unfinished. My father, who has never had the joy of a rib eye prior in his life - a usually beautiful piece of meat, has now stated that he will NEVER order one again, and I felt horrible for even suggesting it to him. My assumption is that they brought in lower quality of food to serve a full dining room that evening. Service was mediocre, with our main server telling us constantly how great all the food was prior to ordering, and another server (which we have had before) that I greeted by the wrong name, and she immediately corrected me in a huff/lecture in front of my family - when I was only trying to be nice. After all of this, we were presented with an $800 bill, which we reluctantly paid. We were SO disappointed that a holiday meal we reserved 2 months in advance would be just this awful for such a high cost. Several weeks later, my husband and I dined at Geronimo in the bar, had SUBERB service, SUPERB food for a fraction of the price. So if you are looking for a fine dining experience for a special occasion, I suggest you look well past Market Steer, as it will be quite some time before we got back again - if ever.

Walked around and around looking for something other than New Mexican cuisine after being in Santa Fe for a few days. Walked into this restaurant without reservations and asked for a table outside because their patio looks amazing! They had heaters going, which was wonderful in the cool evening! The ambiance on the patio is incredible! Right away a wait staff assistant brought us water, and our waiter was very attentive without being overbearing. The food is exactly as amazing as you would expect at this price point. Filet mignon cooked PERFECTLY with a generous seasoning that gave it a little crunch on the outside. The whipped potatoes were a little too whipped for my taste and not really enough to share. The shrimp cocktail were ENORMOUS (we live on the Gulf coast and get "jumbo shrimp" regularly- the shrimp here at this Santa Fe steakhouse are wayyyyy larger! And the presentation of the shrimp cocktail (on cold rocks) was something I have never seen! We loved the meal and the staff!

A Priemer Steakhouse in Santa Fe. Great steaks - we had the NY Strip and Cowboy Ribeye ... both cooked to specification and tasty. Very good, not great ... little leaner than a top steakhouse would offer. Nice seafood choices as well. The sides are wonderful, the mash, veggies, fries and the list goes on... And the appetizers...stick to the salads, if not sharing, or you will get too full. We had the beef/pork bacon standoff ... wonderful but it is a lot if having steak. Really had fun with the smores dessert, with its own fire to cook upon - loved it. The place is quality, the service is friendly and attentive - no problems at all.

Great service and great food. Good vibes for a small steakhouse. We were staying at the St. Francis Hotel so we decided to make reservations (highly recommend) for a nice treat. Everything from Start to finish was great. Not every meal I eat out is high end but I'd say it's definitely something I frequent, and can compare to many others. If you ask me they can roll with the big dogs. Great taste and fresh quality on everything . I feel like their prices are actually very reasonable for the quality. 3 entrees, 2 sides, 2 enhancements, 2 desserts, 4 people, sparkling water, and beverages...$270 before tip. Green Chile risotto was great, truffle fries were typical but fresh potatoes so that's nice, steaks were cooked perfectly, bourbon chicken was a decent bbq but the Mac n cheese and greens were super tasty! Got the peppercorn Demi that was rich in flavor, cowboy ribeye was great and the desserts were awesome. My kids enjoyed the homemade marshmallows and homemade graham crackers for the table side s'mores and their bread pudding was to die for! Firm yet soft but not soggy, rich in flavor, complimented with nuts instead of raisins and so flavorful! Oh and they have an enclosed dome style dining option outside that Is a pretty neat alternative to their traditional inside dining.

We loved this place. It's located in the Hotel St Francis in the heart of old town Santa Fe. The service was impeccable, and I loved the vibe of the restaurant. The food was fantastic. They served high quality steaks that were cooked perfectly. The drinks were also equally awesome. I had a smoked Old Fashioned which was probably the best I have ever had. And I drink a lot of Old Fashioned's. The meal was expensive, but well worth the price.

OMG YES!!! I had the best ribeye with bearnaise sauce ever and they make their whiskey sour the right traditional way ( with egg white) the service was attentive from the person in charge of making sure our water glasses were always full to the waitress but they were not on top of us. One of the most professional, patron oriented restaurant I have ever had the plea to dine in. The ambience was elevated but pretentious just a really wonderful experience THANK YOU!

As far as I could see, Market Steer is the only steakhouse in Santa Fe serving roasted bone marrow as an appetizer, which was the one deciding factor that enticed me to give this a try. It turned out to be a brilliant idea: this applewood smoked bone marrow was about the best I've enjoyed in years! It turned out just perfectly, although, personally, I would not have served it with something pickled. The meats were excellent as well, including the ribeye steak, which initally came out undercooked, and a wonderful filet mignon. I also tried the house steak sauce and a peppercorn sauce, which both harmonized well. If great steak is on your mind, I suggest you give this restaurant a try! The dining room is mid-size and there is a fireplace, which I suspect might be lit during the wintertime for some cozy atmosphere.

The environment was just perfect! We requested the outside dome that included a Bluetooth speaker, a heater, and blankets. The service was great, they were patient and respecting of our privacy but still very attentive to our requests. We told them we were celebrating my birthday and my boyfriend's college graduation and they brought champagne flutes to celebrate. It was perfect! The food was delicious. The drinks were herbal and strong, I'd say they had an acquired taste. The truffle fries were the best I've ever had, I'd go back just for those!

Food, service and ambiance! One of the best restaurants around! The mezcal (Oaxacan) old fashioned coupled with the flat iron steak (add chimichurri sauce) the mushrooms and green chili risotto is out of this world! However, do not leave without eating their bread pudding!!

Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Market steer did not disappoint. I took advantage and reserved a private dome outside on their patio.

Expensive, but possibly the best ribeye I've ever had! Co worker got the tartar cane with ruffles potato chips which was odd. Place was a little extra with switching out your used utensils after each dish. All fancy, lol. I dropped my unused knife waiter said he get me another, told him it was alright as I proceeded to wipe it off on my pants, but he still brought me another. That's some good service.

Over priced, pretentious and meh. This place belongs in Dallas, Denver, Phoenix or LA. Prices require a mortgage for over seasoned mediocre meat. Staff have better things to do than serve you. They are busy monitoring their trust funds. I grew up in Santa Fe. We didn't have places like this. Santa Fe became the in place of the universe and "Santa Fe style" became the rage in the 90's. You could sell an overpriced mud hut with a leaky roof and un-level floors to a Los Angelino crystal gazer for a boatload of cash. This place is the evil spawn of this bs mentality. The cheesy photos of play cowboys, horse tail sconce ($7500) and other kitschy western art are listed by price in the menu so you can make a purchase for your Pueblo style casa. There are better places to spend your money. If you love Trump, Musk and Yellowstone you will love this place. Don't bother. This is another stake in the heart of what had become the Disneyland of the West. Santa Fe lost something and with places like this it will never come back.

I can definitely see why this restaurant was named the best steakhouse in New Mexico by Taste of Home magazine. Everything was perfect! I made a reservation through opentable.com a couple weeks ago and selected birthday as the occasion. In my experience, restaurants don't always acknowledge what you're celebrating so it was so sweet to be told happy birthday right when I arrived and throughout my meal. They even brought us a small sample of complimentary prosecco to toast the evening. Our server was awesome. He provided great recommendations and was perfect with his timing in between visits to our table. Warm bread with green chile butter was a great start to our meal. For our appetizer, we went with the Tex-Mex Mussels and these were amazing. No mussel was left uneaten and the broth they were in was so delicious! I'm obsessed with green chile so the addition of it to the broth was so freaking good. I couldn't decide between the filet or New York strip, so we got the 24 oz prime porterhouse to share since it's the best of both worlds! It was a perfect medium rare and scrumptious on its own. However, I'm a sucker for sauces so we got the sauce flight to accompany the steak and our truffle fries. My favorites were the truffle butter, horseradish caramel, roasted chimichurri, and the bearnaise. For our other side dish, we had the green chile risotto because how could I refuse another item with green chile?! This whole experience was truly foodgasmic and I can't wait to come back again. Excellent! This was the last meal of our trip to Santa Fe and it did not disappoint! Everything was perfect from start to finish. Our server was attentive and friendly. I loved the bread with the green chili butter. Nice touch for the most popular local ingredient. Our steaks were seasoned to perfection and cooked as ordered. Sides big enough to share. Desserts were great too, we got bread pudding and creme brûlée. Everything was delicious. Beautifully atmosphere too inside the St. Francis hotel. Highly recommend this spot if you're in town.

This maybe the best spot in Santa Fe hands down. Our waitress was amazing and extremely helpful in providing descriptions of all of the menu items. The wagyu steak was absolutely delicious and amazing. Highly recommend the getting the bone marrow and doing the luge, it's a good time. My favorite menu items are the cocktail shrimp, the wagyu and lobster Mac and cheese. The atmosphere inside was nice as well. Overall great experience and the chef has done an amazing job. Keep up the great work!

This new space is well thought out, open concept bar area, with suttle view into the kitchen area. Cool and classy chandelier in dinning area. Staff, food, cocktails and ambiance was great!!! Wishing you the best on new location!!

Executive Summary: our new favorite restaurant. Magnificent flavor, large portions and great service at a reasonable price (for a high end steakhouse). We caught Market Steer on day 3 of their new location. You would never have known they hadn't been there for a decade. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Everything was seamless. The food was beyond great. My wife and I shared scallops and the Wagyu beef. The scallops were the best we'd ever had. The beef was excellent and cooked perfectly. I prefer a more marbled cut, but wanted to try the Wagyu. Our waiter DID make it clear that it was a leaner cut, so that's on me. No regrets. It was still great. The Tex-mex mussels should come with a multi-part warning: first, it is a meal unto itself; second, it will ruin mussels everywhere else for you. Truly fabulous. We are going back tonight planning on just having the mussels and then dessert. We had to pass on dessert the first time because of the portion sizes of the sides. If we had had more room, we would have finished the creamed spinach and the mushrooms. Each side is plenty for four, if not 8. Can't wait to go back!
