Amazing 2023 Holiday Gifts for Seattle Food Lovers - Eater Seattle

"So hear us out: This is a random grocery store in Fremont (with another location, Ken’s Market, in Greenwood), and you can’t buy this stuff online. But look at how hard this goes. If a streetwear designer put this on a white tee it would be in the triple digits — at Marketime, a T-shirt is $20 and a tote (their best-selling merch item) is just $15. No link here, just go to 4416 Fremont Avenue and tell them Eater Seattle sent you." - Harry Cheadle

The anchovies Chou be dou pasta is the best ive ever had!! I'm driving 40 mins just to get it and find myself making plans around Fremont just to have an excuse to go here! Please make this a staple 😋

Cute neighborhood grocery. It's pretty small but they have enough selection for all my usual needs. Bonus points for loose spices. Though overall their prices are higher than a chain grocery.

I really like their deli/prepared foods. I know all the dishes well, you could say I’m a Markettime deli connoisseur. Today shocked the bajesus out of me. The prices climbed and left me shaking my head at how expensive it is now. Add insult to injury, I was hit by a double whammy when I noticed that my favorite dish, the meatloaf, was cut super thin. I’m appalled, they used to cut those slices thick. What I saw where thinner then bread slices, it was a joke and insult. I checked out the other dishes and they seemed “thinner” on the portions than what i remember. Regretfully today was the last time I’ll be eating from the deli at Markettime. Times are tough but I can’t afford $13 for lessor portions. This is the epitome of shrinkflation.

I am DEVASTATED that you are not open at 6 anymore. The best spot to grab and go on my way to work, ski etc. and the absolute #1 friendliest staff. Sad end of an era… please reopen at 6, your renovations are lovely…

One of my favorite places in the neighborhood I have basically come here every single day. I love the stuff. I love this selection and it is such a good vibe. Shout out to Rod for making the best italian soda

I live right around the block from Marketime Foods, so I occasionally shop there. However, my experience with the security guard and the ridiculous prices makes me wish it was further away. I will always shop elsewhere if given the choice, just to avoid the price gouging and the rude security guard at the door. I find myself leaving the store shell-shocked at the prices, like the time I saw a gallon of milk priced at $17.99. Half the time, I can't bring myself to pay for these astronomical prices and just leave the store without making a purchase. When I do this, I'm verbally accosted and physically intimidated by the security guard. Unfortunately, the convenience of its location means that I can't say for sure that I won't be back. But unless I really need something right now and no other place is closer, I will do my shopping elsewhere. There is absolutely no reason why there needs to be such ridiculously high prices and rude security staff at Marketime Foods.

Google
Nice local grocery store with prepared food and supplies of usual, common groceries. Friendly staff.

Google
It’s so nice having a local grocery store in the Fremont neighborhood, they have most items you’d want like fresh produce, a full deli, a seafood section, alcohol, medical/cleaning supplies, fresh bread from local bakeries, etc. they also have plenty of organic and natural items here, so it’s got a little of everything for everyone. The prices are on the high side but the convenience of the location and supporting the local community make it worth the price tag. Marketime Foods is the GOAT.

Yelp
This is a cute grocery store that we're lucky to have in the Fremont neighborhood! It is a bit pricey but you're paying for fresh, local food and supporting a local business instead of a giant big box grocer, so I think it's worth the spend every once in a while. The layout of the store is nice and I always feel at peace shopping here whereas larger stores sometimes stress me out.

Yelp
Stayed nearby in an Abnb on a recent visit. Great little store to have in the neighborhood. Prices didn't seem too bad. Great liquor selection, stuff I can't usually find back home.

Yelp
A few days ago, I came in to get a breakfast bagel with no meat. The manager was helping the woman who was pricing and told take $1 off because there was no meat and that's the most expensive part of the sandwich. Between that and the coffee, it was a great deal and I decided to make it a more regular thing. When I came back today, another woman priced my sandwich and charged me the same as one with meat. I politely asked her if she could take the $1 off because there was no meat and her response was "Actually, I'm charging you an extra dollar for making it custom." Mind you, there was another woman making breakfast sandwiches behind her... I then watched her take an already made one with meat on it, take off the meat, and then put it in to be heated up. This entire time she was "preparing" my "custom" sandwich, her mask was also below her nose and she was whispering to the other girl and looking back at me. I typically really like MarketTime but that woman is awful. I wasn't rude to her when I asked and her response was really uncalled for. It would have been just fine to say "I'm sorry, I can't do that", or "I'm not sure I'm allowed to do that", or " we have to charge all the sandwiches for the same price point". Here's a photo of the egg with meat bits and seasoning still on it.

Yelp
Cute friendly, neighborhood market. Nice how they have an index card box for keeping track of your coffee purchases. Fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables, wild caught fish and bakery items. Great place for picking up dinner or groceries.

Yelp
A great well-rounded selection of staples, and higher-end local stuff. Yes, if you did all of your grocery shopping here it might be expensive, but I stop in mostly for the following - The sauces! Such a great selection of local hot sauces, and I was really excited to see they have Kewpie mayo and Bachan's Japanese BBQ sauce. - House-made soups. It's soup season, so I've been stopping in for these for a while now. I particularly love the creamy tomato. - The deli, but particularly the breakfast tacos! They carry tacos by Sunrise Tacos, a great local company. The Mt. Bakon taco is my favorite, but be sure to get here before 10 as they sell out! - Great alcohol selection, especially the beer and cider.

Coco R.

Yelp
This is a to store to get in and out quickly. I like their pre-wrapped deli sandwiches and frozen pizzas. It is too high priced to buy groceries everyday, but for small items that I need last minute, it is great! The wine selection is good and reasonably priced for a small corner store.

Yelp
The food is good here, but overpriced, even for Fremont. For example, Califa mocha cold brew coffee which is 4-4.50 at most at many grocers, is 7.99 here. I know market food is higher but nearly double is pretty crazy. I had my niece with me today and was picking up food for my son. I had a time crunch (I came in at 2:40pm and had to be at my son's after school activity at 3, with his favorite lunch, which is a Cubano sandwich . I came to the deli and was completely unacknowledged for several minutes. I looked for a to-go sandwich but they only had tuna, Turkey, and several others. None with the ham & pickles my son likes. After 7 minutes of no one even looking up from the deli (there were 3 guys back there and looked like they were making a salad- I would appreciate a "just a second" or even a quick glance my way, but nothing.) I told the female cashier and she said she could charge me for the Cubano and I could keep waiting. O-KAY! What? For another 7 minutes?! No thanks! The cashier was kind to my niece but if this was me working, I would have problem solved by going to the deli case and grabbing it. I'm sorry, but this clueless and lackluster service costed you guys a regular. And no one even seemed sorry that I wasn't being served.

Yelp
I LOVE this place! I live about twenty minutes northeast from it and still sometimes come all this way because it's so cute, the people who work there are so nice, and it's an all-around lovely place. Lots of prepared foods in the deli and they feature bread from local bakeries.

Eric N.

Yelp
I love this place! The only improvement would be dedicated bicycle parking. I'd shop now often if I had a secure place to lock up.

David B.

Yelp
You can safely ignore any review less than four stars for this little neighborhood gem. No, they are not as affordable as Costco but their selection is as carefully curated and sure to be of the same high quality, with the benefit of being a good neighbor. For those of us who have been here for more than 25 years, it's safe to say it's one of the things that keeps you here in a walking neighborhood even as it gets overrun with clueless imports gunning for big bucks and an instant cool factor, while killing what they moved here for. Marketime and Ken's-- what small, local, business is supposed to be about. Thank-you for being our neighbor!

Yelp
I want to love this place! It's close to my house and they carry some items I really like. I go maybe once a week but no more!! All I have to say is short guy with glasses ( apparently he's a manager ) this guy is usually rude at best on a good day ! It takes a lot for me to right a bad review of a place but this guy has rubbed me the wrong way one to many times . I'm definitely taking my business some place else! I'm done giving my money to places that clearly don't value regulars or customers at all ! Im fairly positive I can't possibly be the only person who's had a run in with this guy !
google avatar

darnit y.

Yelp
Probably the rudest staff I've encountered. I was a half hour before closing looking at some deli items. Some employee walked by me and said "excuse me" didn't think anything of it until he reached over my shoulder and turned off the lights on the deli display I was perusing. Guess his need to make band practice or what ever overcame his desire to provide customer service and make his manager money Sad as I live really close. Rather stick to more "professional" and cheaper markets like the big box Fred Meyers. As much as I want to support the smaller chains if they hire lowball talent it's just a waste. Lost my business. Shame. The deli looked good while in the light.

Yelp
I had a blast at this market. While small, Marketime Foods sure is mighty. We stumbled upon this market while in Fremont. They have a great assortment of drinks (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). I bought a can of coconut water and the bf got a triple shot of espresso cold brew drink. They have a small bakery and plenty of prepped food for you to take on the go. Some don't even need microwaving. I kept this place in mind to grab some snacks and lunch before our long hiking day up in the mountains. We came back the next day, and got some hot breakfast and packed lunches. I liked the Mandarin noodles, and my bf liked the turkey sandwich. I love that they're open early as well. Staff were super friendly! Store is clean. Restrooms are also clean as well. Their on the go meals were great, and we bought a couple of liters of water here for cheap. Small parking lot out front, and not overly packed so you can enjoy your shopping experience here!

Yelp
Pretty awesome grocery store I discovered by accident. Great selection of fresh and local produce and deli stuff. amazing beer and wine selection for a store of this size. And delicious coffee and sandwiches. Probably gonna go out of my way to come here often. Great staff too
google avatar

Caroline W.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and often stop here for last minute dinner or for ingredients I've forgotten. They do a great job keeping the shelves stocked. Everything is going to be slightly more than the larger chains, but that's to be expected. I love their hot soups and grab-n-go meals, but have never found the hot meals next to the soups very appetizing. I love their wide selection of beer/wine/ciders for such a small store! Customer service is top notch, they'll never let the checkout line get long without opening another counter. The deli counter has good options even though they don't rotate the selection much. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit, and a great place to try a new and interesting product. They stock a lot of local, sustainable, different brands and I appreciate that! All in all, it's a staple in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Lee F.

Yelp
Love this store. Staff is always friendly, never a line to get in, checkout process is fast. Good selection for a smaller store. In addition to masks being mandatory, they also offer disposable plastic gloves to use while shopping. I've been very impressed with how they have handled covid.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
This is a nice little grocer so if you need only a few items and it's on your way drop in. I wouldn't recommend it if you needed to buy a whole weeks of food. They even have a parking lot which is nice. The prices are decent, just a little high. Their produce selection is fresh. The wine selection big. So go you will probably find the item you need if it's a common one. I wouldn't suggest it for the oddball items though.

Yelp
Best staff in the world, great deli and self made meals. Big no bake cookie fan. Great sandwiches as well, get it toasted.

David G.

Yelp
We used these folks for an informal catered meal and it was outstanding. Sandwiches were perfect and the salads were great. Staff could not have been friendlier. Places like this deserve our support. We'll be back!

Jason R.

Yelp
We moved into the Fremont district in late spring and were skeptical about shopping here regularly because of the prices. But it turns out to be an amazing local shop to hop into to limit going out of our area during a pandemic. Their selections are wonderfully curated. We don't get all our basics here but a lot of our vegetables and fruit, which is the best looking stuff in town. Their deli is amazing. Bought my Christmas prime rib here. Great beer and wine selection. Friendly employees. We've grown to love this backyard grocer.

Yelp
Overall I love Marketime Foods. They have an impressive selection of kombucha and fizzy drinks, a great selection of wine, and a good selection of beer (there is a walk-in chilled room near the produce for beer). There is also a good amount of fresh produce, with organic options. The fennel here, for example, is way better than Trader Joe's or PCC. And finally, they have just about all of the other staples or last minute things you would need to grab - toothpaste, a can of tomatoes, etc. The only section that is lacking are actual meat/poultry/fish to cook, but you can still buy the basics like a whole chicken, pork chops, salmon, etc. But what they lack in variety of meats they more than make up in prepared foods. This is my go-to store for grabbing some chicken wings and tabbouleh to bring to a party, along with a reasonably priced bottle of WA wine and a cute greeting card. Tip: They have rolls of quarters
google avatar

Gina W.

Yelp
Nice selection of quality foods and beverages. A little pricey and seafood options are a little lacking (we wanted to make shellfish but there were none), but perfectly reasonable given the convenience. Mushroom selection is incredible.
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
Located in upper Fremont is this neighborhood grocery. For a locale dubbed the "center of the universe", Fremont is a bit lacking on grocery stores in the area. Your choices if you wish not to travel out of Fremont are limited to PCC and Marketime. Seeing as PCC targets the natural foods buyer, Marketime is really the only place to go to get some Coke (the drink). The store is smaller than a Safeway or QFC, but they do seem to pack in a lot stuff in all of the small aisles here. The selection here is sufficient enough that it will do if you need something in a pinch. Meat/seafood (left side), produce (in back) and a deli (in front) has you covered. The pricing here is higher than you would pay at a large grocery store, but consider the convenience factor of shopping here. Also like anywhere else, regular pricing is just ridiculous. Just stick with the sale items from their bi-weekly flyer. Although it is on the small side, Marketime does have a good selection. It is a decent enough place that it will make you think twice of shopping for groceries outside the neighborhood if you are a Fremont resident.

Yelp
I popped in while on a road trip. We were looking for some easy snacks to take to Gas Works Park to picnic. Marketime offered an expansive array of delicious sandwiches and paninis. They also had a great selection of healthy snacks. The service was friendly and our purchase was quick and easy. I didn't expect to find so many great options in a small package, but we found exactly what we needed and had a delightful picnic!
google avatar

Chadwick M.

Yelp
This grocery store has good parking and location but groceries inside are too expensive. I saw frozen Amy's lunches 7$ but you can buy it at Target for 4$. I am ok with expensive for local things but many of the food s were the same just like any big grocery store.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
2-3 times per week - so useful for my lifestyle, if you will - plenty of fresh fruit/vegetables- and a very useful-sized deli - on my way, now!
google avatar

Jen S.

Yelp
This is by far the greatest supermarket! WOW! They have prepackaged bacon that's under $4 and SUPER THICK. I go every morning to pick up my lunch, it's cheaper than the deli across from my office and I can get 2x the amount of food and whole foods too! They have a great selection of kombucha, energy drinks, juices, fruit & veggies, wine, organic and local products. Plus they help people in the community through donations and without making it into a huge ad campaign. You can just see it when you go in that this is a special place. The employees have always been so friendly and helpful. I only go to two grocery stores and if I were to move out of Fremont I think I'd still make the trek over to Marktime Foods because they are just some of the nicest people with the best products!
google avatar

Elizabeth I.

Yelp
I just left Marketime after having been served with a Random Act of Kindess! As I was picking up my coffee order, the woman who makes the soups and a lot of the hot food came over and handed me a free container of vegan tomato bisque soup and told me I had been served! In a good way! I guess they've started doing this kind of thing, well, randomly and I think it's fantastic. I left with a smile on my face, loving the store, and wanting to pass along my own act of kindness. This place truly is a neighborhood gem and I couldn't be happier supporting them on an almost daily basis. Thank you, Marketime! You guys are fabulous!
google avatar

Amie S.

Yelp
I affectionately call this (like many others) Market-CRIME due to their high markup of basics - i.e. meat, dairy and produce - but despite that, I still love this little market. It's just a few blocks from me, so if I forget something from my regular Trader Joe's shopping trip, I can just grab it here - OR if I'm home cooking and I need an ingredient, I can walk here, get it and be back in my kitchen in less than 15 minutes. The truth is, this is no more overpriced that PCC or Whole Foods, and I really like that they carry a pretty big selection of organic, fair trade and local stuff. Plus, as it's been mentioned, they have weekly specials. I scored a bunch of ripe avocados @ $1 a pop (normally they charge $2.99 each) on my last visit! And lately, they've had some great 2 for $5 specials on their berries. I wouldn't plan a big shopping trip here due to the $$$, but it's great when you run out something and need it right away, or if you want to plan a spontaneous dinner, or if you need snacks/beer/wine for a party you're headed to. :)
google avatar

Jaime H.

Yelp
I shop here a few times a week. Everyone who works here is really nice and even though it's a small grocery store I can always find what I need. Their fresh made pizzas and salads are saweeeeeeet! Nice quick stop for some fresh flowers too. It's a perfect walk from my home, but they also have a free parking lot that always has a spot open. Oh and, it seems as though I am never waiting in line. Check out is a breeze.
google avatar

Ninja S.

Yelp
This is a pretty nice little corner food place. It might not have everything that you would want in a store because of its size, but it is not without its charms. It is also the closest grocery to where I'm living at the moment. I like it a lot more than the local QFC which is way larger but with trashy food.
google avatar

Dee P.

Yelp
I enjoyed my short stint working at Marketime a few years ago. The owners and managers treated me right. The night staff were a kick in the pants. The best thing about working there, though, was the harassment of the customers. To the glossy eyed guy on the other side of the counter... "Visine is on isle 3". Heh... Meeting up with those same folks for beers at the Buck was always cool. Other than that, Marketime is an exceptional miniature market. I don't know how many times a customer would say, "I've been all over town and this is the only place I could find.............". The prices can be a bit high, but make sure you catch the weekly specials and it'll make up for it. Egg day is Tuesday, Milk day is Wed. Bananas are 49 cents/pound a certain day, too..... I just can't remember which day.
google avatar

Lara B.

Yelp
As far as local corner markets go, it doesn't get better than this. This is not your average hot dog and fried chicken kind of convenience store. The prices reflect that (which is why I wouldn't do a "big" shopping trip here), but I love having it down the road for picking up a few items to support a great local business with friendly staff and an impressive selection. Marketime has a great selection of foods (and even magazines), and many of them are local, organic, specialty-type items. It's unusual for a corner market to carry things like lavender ice cream, brown rice flour, wheat germ, and butternut squash ravioli, but I've bought all those things at this place.
google avatar

Cathy G.

Yelp
Thisis a small market in Fremont across from my video rental. good folks; even upscale panhandlers. tasty hot food selections. very good looking produce and good specials. Health food. junk food. secretly excellent chocolate and other goodies.
google avatar

Lee P.

Yelp
My neighbors call this place Mark-It-Up-Time. Yeah, it's a little spendier than most big box grocery stores, but when compared to PCC at the bottom of the hill it comes with about .05% of the pretension and comparable if not better prices. I can dig spending a bit more to keep a neighborhood grocery operating. A fellow yelper mentioned the swell brunch offerings on Sundays. I'm cruising on that tomorrow and will update if it's not as delicious as I assume it will be. House made corned beef and hash for $5 a pound. Hatchi-katchi, hatchi-katchi. Staff is always friendly and the "as advertised" prices are reasonable. Where are these specials advertised? World may never know.
google avatar

emily r.

Yelp
I love you, Marketime. Your breakfast sandwiches are magical. The deli mac and cheese is fantastic. You are one of the only places I can find almond paste. Your wines are always on sale! Your employees are sweethearts! Your ice cream is almost always 2 for 1 !!!! Its slightly too expensive to do my regular shopping here (which i understand, they are very small and locally owned and probably can't buy in the crazy bulk that Safeway can) but I probably go here EVERY DAY. I went there twice today, in fact.
google avatar

Johnyboy E.

Yelp
This place has been critical to my lunch on the way to work for years. I love it here - it is small and easy to get in and out of very quickly. The store clerks many of whom have been here for years are very personal and the very opposite of the Safeway staff who ask every time without a moment of sincerity "did you find everything okay?" Actual real people with real questions who don't feel like robots. Plus the soup bar here is fabulous! I liked one of their soups so much that one of the managers went out of his way to go photocopy the recipe for me and now I it is one of my favorites. They are not a full service shop but if you want to get in and out in under five minutes while rushing to not make it late to work this is the spot. Love ya Marketime!!
google avatar

jen b.

Yelp
I love Markettime. We live a couple blocks away and I'm so glad it's our neighborhood store. Great wine selection, produce, and meats. The staff are always really friendly and helpful- usually when I'm other places and get a crappy cashier I think, "they wouldn't act like this at Markettime," and I've heard a couple friends remark the same as well, but it's true! The prices can be a little higher, but I appreciate that my money is going to a family-owned business, rather than a huge corporation, so I can deal with paying a little more. Plus, the only two other grocery stores nearby are PCC, where you'll definitely be paying more, or QFC, where I know the quality won't be as good. They also have a large to-go section. I don't normally get it, but it's there just in case which is always nice to know.
google avatar

Natalie W.

Yelp
Where else can I buy a donut from Countryside, a bagel with lox, a bottle of wine, Fran's sea salt caramels, organic food, and my Power-C Naked at 11 pm on the way home from work? This stop only requires a little swerving to the left on the road going home. So convenient! I might even be tempted to try one of the vegan sandwiches or dinners to go that they have sometime. Lots of selection crammed into this little location but somehow they have everything including my Island bread from Whidbey. Always friendly, tables are outside for staying and hanging out with your purchase a reading a newspaper, and I never have to wait to be helped. The real change vendors aren't as pushy at this location so they don't detour me from coming on in past them and smiling without feeling like I want to sprint past to keep from being pressured when I have no bills on me(bad... i know...) Stop in- You'll love it... I always run into people I know here that I didn't even know live in the neighborhood- this makes Seattle more fun and not so isolated.
google avatar

Jordan C.

Yelp
Market Time is best when you're in a pinch. They've got the basic necessities, but as a neighborhood grocer, their selection is limited. However, they are able to get away with custom packaging items of produce. A group of peeled garlic cloves in those small plastic sauce containers runs a few quarters; totally saving you from buying a whole clove that almost always ends up growing sprouts sitting on top of your microwave. On a few occasions their produce didn't stand the test of time in my 'fridge, so only buy enough that you know you're going to use. They got a pretty good beer and wine selection and have different sales for both every month, so pony up and consume. They also sell bus passes. The folks who work there are pretty cool too, save for the older lady who works mostly at the checkout who has the "hurry up and buy" 'tude.
google avatar

Rob F.

Yelp
For us folks in upper Fremont, Marketime is our town commons. So, of course, it's really about the great people that work there and getting to know your neighbors in an era when that's become so difficult to do. As for the goods, it's like magic the way they stuff that place with everything you could need. Notables for me include the deli that serves a great Espresso and a mean Sunday brunch, the wine selection including esoteric locals like the Red Mountain wineries that I can't seem to find at bigger stores and then the produce and meats which have saved many an evening.
google avatar

Anna W.

Yelp
Killer beer + kombucha selection, lame meat + seafood selection. Arguably the best thing about Marketime? The grab & go breakfast. My roommate and I both love the pre-made breakfast sandwiches (sausage, egg, cheese on a croissant!) plus they have ready brewed coffee, bagels, doughnuts, and even bacon, eggs and other hot foods.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
I love Marketime. For being such a small store, they have a lot of great stuff. It's kind of like the sort of place you might end up at in New York. The employees are friendly and helpful, they will run to help you find things and . They also seem to know where everything is. The only time I couldn't find something was when I was looking for a can of some type of beans or other, which is odd because they have tons of beans. The prepared food in the deli section is very good, though I don't get it too often. I wish the aisles were wider, but I suppose space is at a premium. It's difficult to use a cart there. There are always people outside of the door selling Real Change or asking for money, but that's pretty standard for a city grocery store.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Marketime foods pretty much has anything you might need from a convenience/grocery store. There's also a deli right as you walk in with all kinds of good stuff like fried foods and sandwiches. This store also has a cash machine which is very significant considering it claims the prize of being closest available option to the cash-only Paseo restaurant.
google avatar

Chad J.

Yelp
Life in the upper part of Fremont could not exist were it not for Marketime. Marketime is part of the Ken's Markets chain of small neighborhood groceries that dot the northend here and there. Since buying it from the retiring owner a few years ago, Ken's has kept the flavor of the place the same and it has a very different vibe than even the nearest Ken's on Greenwood. Marketime has everything you could need in a pinch. If you just forewent the whole car thing and shopped exclusively at Marketime, you could live very well indeed. They may not have a wide selection, but they have a quality selection, especially of dairy, meat and produce. The staff is extremely helpful and they don't have a high turnover rate. If you can't find something, it pays to ask because there is a safe bet that they have it but that it's tucked away somewhere.

Yelp
Love marketime for convenience. Girlfriend has ruled out other places to live based on proximity to marketime. Seafood and poultry have been surprisingly good, Produce has never let us down and they always have plenty of whatever ice cream the lady's into at the moment. I love that I can get whatever I need/forgot at other grocer while my oven preheats. Since the main attraction here is convenience I'd feel funny about giving it a five star review. Its really not that expensive either. Markups seem reasonable to me.

Yelp
AKA: Market CRIME. I try not to buy anything here unless I have to. What they carry is mostly quality, but still. It's worth it to peruse the $3.99-7.99 wine cart though! And what're you gonna do if it's nearby?

Yelp
I love MarketTime. I was on the bus on the way to school and I REALLY had to pee. It crept up on me big time. I mean, I had to pee so bad I got off the bus in the middle of my twenty minute ride downtown...I desperately began searching for a place. You know how it is (or maybe you don't?), not a lot of businesses will let you use their bathroom. But I walked in and asked them where it was and they told me, and I was so pleased/relieved. So that is why I initially loved them. Then, they had these sandwiches that looked really good. So I got one, along with some other stuff (like dog treats and a coconut-chocolate haystack thing), and trekked back to the bus stop. And the sandwich was ACE. Good sandwiches, nice staff, and I got to use their bathroom - this all equals five stars! Oh, and, from what I could tell, they had a good selection! I haven't seen a bulk section in a store in a while, especially not one so small.

Yelp
What a fantastic neighborhood market! It's a bit spendy, but the food is really nice, there's much more variety than a convenience store, and the people are friendly and helpful. And the awesome beer selection doesn't hurt. Thumbs UP!
