I had the best experience hosting my baby sprinkle at Marks! The space was intimate and perfect for a small group of 20, creating such a warm and cozy atmosphere. The food was absolutely amazing—I'm still dreaming about that French toast bake! Amanda was so attentive and truly took care of every detail, which made it so easy for me to just show up and enjoy the day. And the cake? Not only was it stunning to look at, but it tasted just as delicious. Highly recommend to host intimate gatherings or have them do the desserts for your special occasion!

I really wanted to love this place as there isn't many places on Staten Island that sells french cruller donuts. I was excited to see they had it on their menu so I ordered it along with 2 other donuts and some cake bites. The flavors of the donuts were good, much better than other non chain donut shows on the island but the dough itself was dense. The donut felt like it was confused on whether it was a yeast donut or cake donut. Crullers are suppose to be airy but this one was not. I would definitely recommending skipping the cake bites all together. they are too small and they tasted dry due to not having anything protecting it from dehydrating.

Love all the baked goods from Mark's Bake Shoppe. From the buttery croissants, cinnamon buns, rainbow cookie cheesecake, regular cheesecake, ice cream cake, lemon cookies, and their many different donuts. Ordered cakes for special occasion and everyone loves the taste and designs.

I have had problems every time I order online. I ordered ahead and write my requests in the comment box. Each time they have substituted my requests with no phone calls or requests. They have also claimed they never received the comments. They also said there was nothing they could do, because the doughnuts I order needed to be prepped ahead. I have done this twice and have been seriously disappointed. Some of the doughnuts that requested are up charged and are the ones subbed out for ones not of the same price just because what I asked for was not there. calling did not help nothing was resolved or offered. Do not recommend. My office coworkers will not be ordering here.

One of the best bakeries on the Island. Best carrot cake I’ve ever had ! Seven layer cupcakes are out of this world and the jelly donuts are awesome. I have ordered many birthday cakes and they never disappoint.

I very proudly and highly recommend any one who enjoys exquisite tasting baked goods to visit Mark’s bake shoppe. Everything from going to the bakery, ordering online and the delivery service is a pleasure to do business with. We order our birthday cakes every year, this year will be the third year we will be ordering birthday cakes again. We are never disappointed from his service to the amazingly delicious baked goods from Mark’s! His coffee is so good too we never leave the bakery without a coffee! If you know and want good stuff Mark’s bake shoppe is the only place to go. I recently had a cookie tray delivered to a friend and she loved it. We are all excited to be picking up bunches of baked goods in a few days to bring in the new year with Mark’s amazing cakes cookies and more. If you want good bakery items this is the place to go.

Mark's might just be the best Bakery on Staten Island. They have THE BEST doughnuts I've ever had. I've ordered multiple cakes from them including my wife's bridal shower. They not only look amazing but taste delicious. I would highly recommend a trip to marks, you will not be disappointed.

I ordered the red velvet cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was a huge hit— tasted great and was decorated beautifully!

The service is amazing, the girls are very sweet. The carrot cake is to die for. I mean it's incredible. They offer this sampler of bite size cakes..it's a genius idea. Although I just get mostly carrot cake!! Their red velvet is delicious too. I have not had anything from this bakery that I haven't loved. Very very clean.

I came here yesterday mid day to pick up some bday treats for my husband. He was excited to see I got a box of 7 layer cookies because they're his favorite, but he could have broke his tooth on how hard they were. Days, if not WEEKS old stale. I could not even break these cookies apart with my hands. What an embarrassment. I've absolutely never experienced this from a bakery before. (You can see how dry and stale they are in the photos. Can't even deny it.)

I bought a cake. Cake was hard and dry. Usually cakes were fresh and moist in the past. I don't what happened.

Good cake,just wish the outer rainbow cookies were moist and not dry. Could be the holiday rush orders affected this as they did have several orders lined up. Will give this business another try soon.

Had a Nutella s'mores donut for the first time Phenomenal! Very friendly workers all fresh delicious desserts!

Mark? Should I even call you Mark? I feel like we are hardly on the first name level. I don't see us getting there anytime soon. I came in and tried a cake. The girl at the counter said they are made fresh daily. Mark, the cake was clearly not made that day. The frosting was rock hard and the cake was crumbly, dry. For almost $30, skip it and go to a bakery that bakes their items fresh every day and actually does it.

It's always great service for a very fair price and the goodies are always yummy! Will continue to support them!

I went here frantically looking for carrot cake for a loved one's birthday. Remarkably bear carrot cake bites did the job perfectly. They were just the right amount of sweet and moist. Often with carrot cake, inferior places will mask lousy product with the cream cheese topping, not this place. It was wonderful. We got other cake bites too and they were all perfect. I'll be back.

Got a funfetti cake. $28 Can order online - so easy Added instructions for writing on cake and they did just what I asked Everyone is still masked - thanks for taking care of yourselves and your community The cake is really good and generously filled and topped w like cake pop bites on top. It's really sweet but that's funfetti. I wish the cake was a tiny bit moister but overall a great cake from a great bakery FYI parking lot is a little tight

In addition to allllllll the other yummy desserts their breads are so fresh! This is my new spot for Italian bread. I need it to stay fresh more than one day--this bread was perfect the second day! I haven't had bread this fresh since cangianos closed!

Mark's Bake Shop is tucked away in a small plaza on Richmond Rd. We have seen this shop in a few blogs with good reviews and I had to see for myself. It's super cute when walking in, it was packed with tons of different baked goods. If you want to stay and have your dessert there, they have a few tables in the middle to sit. They have pies, cookies, cakes, cannolis, coffee, breads. There is just so much to choose from. We looked around and settled on some minis that were in one of the cases. It didn't have a tag and we thought they were cheesecake and didn't find out until after she put them in the box. We asked like three times. We also got a cookie, a Nutella pretzel cookie. The baked goods are reasonably priced. The minis we got were strawberry shortcake, carrot cake, Carmel chocolate, chocolate with pecan, red velvet, 7layer, marble with cannoli and cannolis. I will start with the Nutella pretzel cookie. It was messy, super hard to eat and I thought I was gonna crack my tooth. I wouldn't get this again. The cannolis were still crunchy. the cream tasted like it was ricotta mixed with butter cream. They were good but different. I enjoyed the carrot cake. It was moist and tasty. Shortcake was the same. Chocolate cakes were a little dry and sweet, same with the 7 layer. Red velvet was little sweet. The marble was good same with the cannoli cream. Overall, MBS is a good alternative to your usual shop. There was some hits and misses here but I would def give it another shot. Parking in lot, also street parking (355)

I want to start by saying this wasn't my first bad experience.. I had my sister get 2 cakes for Christmas Eve, both were stale and tasteless. The confetti cake was the worst dessert at Christmas Eve! The rainbow cookie cake was tasteless and the edges were so hard you couldn't chew on them. Last time buying from here I don't care how close it is to my house!

Ordered a custom cake for a 1st birthday in person. Good customer service, easy process. Cannoli cream marble sheet cake was excellent- fresh and tasty. Would order from here again!

Not impressed - girlfriend stated it's an amazing place. Best carrot cake & cheesecake -purchased the cheesecake and it was basic & also expensive - went back and they had a delicious cheese danish. It has a pinch of cinnamon in it. - did I mention that they are lil overpriced?

The cakes and cookies are divine! We ordered a cake for my father-in-law's 90th birthday and it was delicious. The chocolate mousse frosting was the best frosting I've ever had. We highly recommend this bakery!

Mark makes the most awesome donuts that might compare to Voodoo Donuts. And the entire check came to $27.50 for five donuts: s'mores Nutella, Boston Cream, Peanut Butter and Jelly,, Maple Bacon and French Crueler AND a chocolate cake that says "Happy Birthday" no extra charge. I contemplated getting a cake at Lady M for $100 but then they wanted $5 to write happy birthday on the cake. Ridiculous. That turned me off of Lady M so much!!!! Mark's bakery does not charge anything to write happy birthday on the cake, plus they appreciate my business a lot more. Just say no to rip offs. Support small businesses.

My brother in law raves about this place and I came out of my way to come here on 4th of July to bring a cake to a BBQ. So glad I did! First, they were open on 4th of July, so I find their hours convenient. The parking lot was spacious. Upon entering, we were offered samples of Potato Chip and Chocolate chip cookies. Not a typo - Potato. Chip. Cookie. Pretty interesting concept and a fun idea if you need a treat or are bringing cookies to someone. Yes sometimes you NEED a cookie. No judgements, big is beautiful. The salted caramel chocolate cake was the real star. Moist, unique and flavorful. You can get 6 generous sized piece from this cake or 8 skinny person pieces or 4 my kind of pieces. Either way, I was very impressed with how delicious it was. Only $16 - I've paid much more at other bakeries for cakes I could not even eat. I could tell everything was freshly made. Great customer service was very friendly and professional. We'll surely be back for these excellent baked goods at very reasonable prices.

I Love Mark's bake shop. Everything always fresh! They have unique bakery options. Staff is always very nice and respectful! If i can offer a word of advice. Mothers Day brunch $ 40 a person, seems a bit high for eating on plastic plates, cups, knives and forks. I hardly was able to cut my breakfast. Mind you everything was tasty and staff were friendly. But a little extra pampering for the Mom's is needed. They did give the Mom a card with offer for cup of coffee and free pastry.

My husband wanted chocolate mousse cake for our wedding and Mark's Bake Shoppe delivered. It was a hit and the flavors were fantastic. Simple and delicious!

was given 0.73lbs of cookies for the price of 1lb. i glanced away when the scale said 0.73 and thought i would get charged less. then when i didn't i thought they had put more in after i turned away to pay while the girl was sealing the box. i checked when i got home to make sure and sure enough it was 0.83lb including the box and tape. horrible! stealing from customers is an actual thing

I am only rating this location for the cute bakery shop and this cake I picked up for Mother's Day. The cake was absolutely beautiful! The buttercream had the right mixture and it was delicious to eat. My mother enjoyed her cake and I want to thank you! It brought good memories for us from a good Italian bakery in Brooklyn we grew up in. If you are missing a delicious buttercream cake from a Italian bakery in Brooklyn. You will be happy with this cake. I apologize that the photo is not the best.

FABULOUS! Whether you live in the area or not, you owe it to yourself to visit this truly gourmet bakery. Glazed jelly donut and the carrot cake are so delicious, they should be illegal. One of the best bakeries I have ever been to, in my life, and I am no young. I was like a kid in a candy store.

I got a pecan pie for thanksgiving and it's absolutely the best pie that I have ever had!

Everything in here looks really nice and pretty but the flavor and freshness is lacking. Donuts were very good but cake bites looked better than they tasted. Wanted to love this place but I'll pass next time.

My husband and I decided to order a cross cake from Mark's Bake Shoppe for our daughter's baptism. You can order the cake directly from the website but my husband called to ensure we get what we were looking for. The cake was absolutely beautiful but it was half stale. My husband and I had very hard pieces, some of our guests had fresh pieces and the others had a mix. We were very disheartened since the cake was beautiful and we paid a decent price for it. When my husband informed the bakery the following day, the bakery said they make cakes fresh weekly for the weekend and to bring in the cake. That clearly was not possible since the event was the day prior. Not sure what that would do.

I am new to Staten Island. I wanted a good pie for Thanksgiving so I decided to give Mark's Bake Shoppe a try. First, the shoppe is very cute. It is small, but appears extremely clean and the sweets look delicious. We ordered a few rainbow cooks and a crumb apple pie. The servers were a couple of young girls who were very nice and attentive. One of them even gave us a couple of free donuts since it was late in the day. As to the pie, it was delicious, just like I like them. It was had a coffee cake top with apples in it. It had a lot of tender apple pieces in it and it was perfectly sweetened, but not too sweet. The crust was buttery. It was a solid delicious apple pie. I would definitely get it again.

I have to say I love this place never had a bad experience with anything purchased here. From the doughnuts to the cakes. And cupcakes all quality and full of taste ! 5+ also staff is friendly and helpful.

My favorite place for Jelly donuts, stopped in yesterday and they were out of cinnamon sugar jelly, had other selections. Mark had overheard the conversation and asked me how many I wanted, and could I wait a few minutes. He came out a few minutes later, with just made-still warm donuts for me. I can't say thank you enough. I also bought some carrot cake cupcakes which are excellent. Many thanks and compliments

Best bakery on the island! I've ordered from Mark's Bake Shoppe a half a dozen times in the last two months and will continue to do so as their doughnuts, pastries, muffins, and croissants are always delicious and superior in quality to anything else I've have on Staten Island. Their Shoppe coffee is also fantastic and has quickly replaced the Starbuck's blends I had been previously buying by the pound. Additionally, the staff there are always kind and courteous, even calling me when they're out of something and letting me know about similar items I could substitute. They are now the only bakery on my Saturday morning breakfast meeting list replacing the previous three places I bounced between. No more bouncing for me, now it's Mark's every time now!

Came here to pick up some desserts for Easter after reading all the wonderful reviews. We opted for the German chocolate cake and a raspberry almond danish. The chocolate cake was phenomenal! Everyone loved it! I'm not a huge fan of chocolate but I am now a fan of this cake. It was incredible. I wish I'd known about Marks sooner! I didn't have the danish, but the guests who did said it was very good. We also tried the maple bacon donut while we were at the shoppe, and omg that alone will keep anyone coming back!!!!

This bakery is a hidden gem. All the baked goods are simply delicious. I've tried the fresh rolls, croissants, cookies, chocolates. My favorite are the ham and cheese croissants and the vegan chocolate chip cookies. This place smells amazing and the owners and workers are really nice. Prices are great and they have a reward program too. Love it here.

Let me stress, i love this bakery, I shop there all the time. I usually buy a cake for the Holidays/Birthdays Etc. I was just a little let down my last visit, the Strawberry Shortcake was a little stale.

I have not had the pleasure of tasting the goodies. I live out of state, which was the reason I found Mark's. I had delivered items to my nieces in the past (with other companies), & had not been happy with the items or delivery. I found Mark's on google & called to verify the details. This was the weekend before Valentine's Day, so I wanted to ensure delivery was still available. The receptionist/order taker was overly helpful. They even delivered on Saturday! When we FaceTimed & my nieces took a bite of the chocolate chip cookies, their smiles told me they would be in love with the cake too.

I called ahead last minute to see if they had a ready made German chocolate cake. They said yes. I came in about an hour later to pick it up. The girl at the counter asked what kind of cake and filling I wanted which was odd. She came out about 10 minutes later. I paid about $20 for the Cake. We ate it within the hour. The chocolate layers were beyond stale, the frosting looked like German chocolate frosting but it sure didn't taste like it. No coconut or Carmel-y flavor could be found, just sugary sweet. No one ate it after a bite or two and I had to toss the entire thing. Quickly whipped up brownies and stuck a birthday candle to serve guests. I won't return for more stale products.

Mark's is one of the newer bakeries on Staten Island compared to the old guard in bakeries here it's convenient there's a parking lot and best of all everything is delicious from the beautifully decorated speciality cakes to the muffins to anything covered in chocolate there's also great coffee to go with the fabulous desserts Mark is always there to offer suggestions your sure to find something that'll bring u back for more

Stop what you are doing & go here now. The smell in this place alone will make you not want to leave. The cookies are delicious, especially the 7-layer. The German Chocolate Cake Bite was awesome. Homemade chocolate raspberry jelly bars are one of my favorites. I also enjoyed a nice cappuccino. The owner is super friendly & personally does the baking. I will be back soon to try some Donuts.

I ordered the brookie (cookie brownie). It was perfect. Not sickeningly sweet. The bottom had a little char but I like that. It was moist and had a balanced ratio of cookie and brownie. I most definitely will return!

I have been following this bake shop on Instagram and finally had a chance to go in! such a beautiful, modern and clean bakery! the display case was filled with yummy desserts. The girl working the counter was very nice and charismatic! she informed me that they started making vegan treats, I had to try it. I got 2 vegan chocolate chip cookies and they were so yummy. I also got an ice coffee, I wish they had flavors for the coffee, BUT they had almond milk and coconut milk . unfortunately, they did not make lattes. Over all, I will be returning to try everything haha

Long review, but please bear with me. I can no longer be silent about this place. I am a self admitted food snob, and i won't apologize for it....EVER! Quality is everything to me, and I always appreciate it when i taste it. Without it, you're basically an open space with some useless cooking gear behind a counter in my eyes. Enter my predicament. At my office, my staff mean the absolute world to me. They work hard, and ask for nothing in return. As my usual extra bonus, I randomly try to start their days off on a happy note with great breakfast foods. My usual stop for pastries moved to a different location far out of my way to work in NJ. I desperately needed a new place convenient to my route that delivered top tier quality. You know nothing of hell until you bring substandard pastries to a large group of female office staff. Mine tend to pounce and bite people. Enter Mark's place. I did my research and read his reviews here, and decided to give it a try. The fact that his shop is directly in my path to work blocking my travels like a disgruntled road construction worker off his meds was an unintentional bonus. At first, I just bought a couple of donuts (you can tell tons about a bake shop by its donuts) and at first bite I was floored. Like the first time as a kid when you do something completely stupid, but totally cool and you lived through it kind of floored. I knew at that moment my taste for donuts would be forever ruined. I came back the next day and ordered about $120 worth of donuts, muffins, cookies, and even sprung for cake bites for the hell of it. I literally just told the nice lady "I'll take that whole tray" type of orders. I can't explain it, but I was so excited to share my new gem with my staff. It felt like having a blank check in a Ferrari dealership, and my wife was ok with it. End of the long review- I have now installed a custom sign hanging over the area reserved for staff treat because of Mark. "If you are old enough to vote the Company will not be held responsible for your diet, level of discipline, or your expanding waist line. -Management".

Don't have much to say about this place but that I came from the bronx to visit a friend in staten island and decided I wanted to bring her family some cute decorative and tasty cupcakes. I'm a big fan of cupcakes, I love having a variety of selections from carrot cupcakes to German chocolate ect... I love the cupcakes to have primarily great sweet taste but also a unique fancy decorative style on it. Looking on Yelp to find the best place. Mark's shoppe comes up with 5 stars, so since we were like 8 mins away we quickly drove there to find out that they had really NOTHING in stock. I asked for thier Maple bacon donuts that I read about and I was told they make that on the weekends (omg! wow and why?) and it was only Monday! So now I asked for cupcakes and she pointed to 6 little cupcakes in a package they had sitting on a bottom shelf and it looked like regular Costco cupcakes or somthing I would make at home in 15mins, they had regular wrapped cookies you buy in rite aid on the holidays and just plain donuts that I buy at Dunkin donuts. (Big sigh) I wonder who gave this place a great recommendation because I didn't see it. Hopefully someone else has a better experience

Mark and his team made the best birthday cake I've ever had!! Everyone was so impressed and was asked to refer to all present. The staff and Mark were so kind and helpful as I was very indecisive and not sure of what I wanted. They made this beautiful and delicious cake on such short notice and were so accommodating. The cupcakes and other bakery goods are also amazing. I highly recommend and will be returning.

Marks Bake Shoppe goes above and beyond with their pastries, especially cakes! I ordered the tea themed cake for my moms birthday which brought her to tears! I showed them a very blurry image as inspiration and basically left everything up to their judgement and I'm so happy I did. The cake came out absolutely amazing! As for the Rutgers/Prom cake - that was a gift and both the cake pops and the cake were to die for! I'm so happy I found this bakery in such close proximity to where I live! Definitely coming back for every occasion!

I loved reading his background and a YouTube video on him following his dream. For someone with a wife who is an excellent cookie baker it gave us inspiration and love to support an in town business and family guy. We tried many items and have to say love decor in bakery, love the cake bites and icebox cake and glazed doughnut. However and don't know if biased to wife's bakery but most of his cookies left a lot to be desired as they were dry, overall blah. We will definitely be back for the doughnuts and cakes thou.
