Markus Divinus - Zafrana Boutique Winery

I discovered the winery on the last evening of my trip. The morning of my last day on the island I wrote them, hoping for a tasting. They replied, and I went to their cellar. It was a wonderful experience, especially since I had the honor of meeting the owner. A visionary man who is making his dreams come true. Tucked proverbially off the beaten path, Markus Divinus boutique winery was a highlight of the day! Unbeknownst to us, harvest had just begun, so Mark the owner happened to be there to welcome us before introducing us to Priscilla, who led our 10 am Angel Share tasting experience. Only producing 5,000 bottles per yr, Markus Divinus truly is boutique - beyond the winery itself, the only place to find their wines is at the Michelin star restaurants of Malta! After seeing the cellar and where they hand label each bottle we enjoyed a flight of 6 varietals. Mark is very detail oriented and it shines through the quality of his wines! Drink local!!!

Fantastic! Great location, beautiful setting and very knowledgeable staff that made the tasting interesting, the nibbles were great and local. I've seen some top notch wine farms from South Africa to the USA and this was great! The star of the show were the wines I was very impressed!

This winery is hands down the best winery in Malta. The wine is incredibly delicious & unique, the staff is more than friendly, and the location is the most peaceful place on the island. It is great to have many different options for wine tastings and snacks while having a nice view of the winery and nearby town! This winery is a MUST when visiting Malta! I can’t count how many times I visited while I lived nearby!

I chose this experience to celebrate my 40th birthday with some close family and friends and it was truly magical 🥰 the unique private location reminded me of Sicily (on a small scale), the wines were really nice and all had a unique inspiration which was also shared with us and both Mark and Priscilla were very friendly and welcoming. Well done and keep up the great work - highly recommend!!!!
