"Within Heckfield Place – a Georgian country house hotel decorated with the owner’s extensive post-war British art collection – you’ll find this charming, orangery-style dining room looking out over a lake and parkland. Sustainability drives everything they do here, with a great number of ingredients coming from the estate’s own farm; these are fashioned into light, clean dishes that rely on honest, natural flavours. Why not start by ordering the plate of farm vegetables to share, giving you an opportunity to really taste the garden?" - Michelin Inspector

This Green Michelin Star restaurant is an absolute delight to the 5 senses! With a menu that owes a large portion of it’s fresh ingredients to the farm on the property, the chef has designed a menu that offers deliciously flavorful cuisine that is unburdened with heavy sauces and overly rich combinations. We thoroughly enjoyed the light, fragrant fare, packed with natural goodness. Of course, the well appointed restaurant and terrace with sun kissed views of the natural landscape only added to the charm of the experience. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Restaurant w excellent ingredients and good cooking. We entered the restaurant and we marveled at the view over an valley. Young staff are courteous and tried to be helpful. The cocktail, lemon margarita, was excellent. We ordered the two sharing plates on the menu, fried vegetable and coppa. Dishes are well presented and cooked w excellent ingredients. The wine list is quite comprehensive, though I would say the good one are probably about 20% overpriced, compared to restaurants of similar caliber. Overall, we are really pleased with restaurant and are looking forward to revisiting

Superb meal at Marle. Was interested by the focus on sustainable and natural produce. The cooking was perfection, all dishes extremely well put together. Presentation was sensational. I found the atmosphere of the restaurant to be a great blend of pristine service accompanied by a friendly and welcoming attitude. Certainly not stuffy at all. Highlight dish was the trout main which is probably the best fish dish I've ever eaten. It was cooked just right and not over-dressed, the quality of the fish spoke for itself. Best potatoes ever! Simply scrumptious. Can not recommend Marle highly enough.

My husband and I dined at Marle on Sunday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We weren't rushed in anyway despite having arrived at 18:30 and it was nice to see other diners in the restaurant. The food was exceptionally tasty and we really enjoyed our meal. Our waiters were friendly and the runners were very keen to help and kept asking if we needed anything else. There are a few things though that could have made the experience that much better. There was no one at the door to greet us when we arrived and service felt extremely casual. Our waiter for the evening was a really friendly young man but felt he was quite hesitant. We were not going to order a bottle of wine rather a few glasses but had to wait with empty drinks glasses for quite some time until our mains arrived at the table before an order was taken and then waited a while before they arrived. We only saw the Sommelier once in the whole evening. When we ordered our waiter wasn't comfortable with the wines by the glass on the list, all in all it felt a little lacking. The fried green tomato "sharing plate" was so delicious but plating was clumsy and was just 4 slices on a plate with a spoonful of aioli, not appealing to the eye. My main course of the squid, albeit excellent and so tender wasn't what was described on the menu. I really don't have an issue with that but if any changes were made it would have been nice to know i.e. no peppers and also no aioli. Again plating of both mains was quite clumsy, rushed. The only other feedback I have is that on the trio of ice creams I felt like the Fior di Latte ice cream had been defrosted and refrozen or not churned properly, as opposed to rich and creamy it was very icy and very sweet. The other 2 flavours were great and a perfect way to end our meal. My husband commented that you can tell the produce is excellent because the flavours were so good. We loved the surroundings and being sat in the "green house" part of the restaurant. Please don't get me wrong it was a lovely evening and we were very happy when we left it's just the small things that you notice that could really change the experience from a 4 to a 5.

Ella did very great job explaining the full menu, and walking us on the best dishes.

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. We had a two year old who wouldn’t stay put, and the staff were so nice and helpful. And the place is stunning!

We came for our anniversary dinner: the perfect dining experience. Seasonal ingredients served beautifully. If the Crown Prince Beignet are still on the menu, you can't order too many. Delicious cocktails with even more delicious non-alcoholic options.

Been a frequent visitor of Heckfield for the last few years, and have loved their breakfast. Very disappointing to see a cheeky introduction where they have limited options from the ‘kitchen’ section to 1 dish only. As the dishes are plated almost tapas size, it’s definitely not the same value for money it has been previously. £32 for otherwise pastries/ cakes/ porridge and only 1 kitchen item is really expensive! Please change this back to how it was!
