"A haute cuisine-style restaurant adjacent to Zunzum Gastrobar, located in a glass-fronted building next to the Lisbon Cruise Terminal (a bonus for parking, with a huge public car park available). The restaurant, with a contemporary feel, surprises visitors with a large open central kitchen, surrounded by a counter that allows you to watch the chefs at work at all times. Chef Marlene Vieira, together with her team, presents a signature approach based on two tasting menus (9 or 12 courses) referencing both Portuguese tradition (we loved her refined blue lobster, green curry and seaweed) and flavours from other latitudes, always accompanying the dishes with cornbread following her grandmother’s old recipe. A curious detail? If you order a meat option, you are presented with a selection of handcrafted knives, with different handles and hand-sharpened blades, from which you can choose." - Michelin Inspector

This was a Michelin spot that truly earned its star. The interior has an intimate yet cozy feel, which is normally hard to accomplish with an open layout. the service was truly amazing. We were one of the last seatings and were worried about keeping the staff late (and we might have) but they were nothing but friendly and extremely accommodating. They even let us take a picture in the kitchen! With a surprise guest!! The food was amazing, it had a heavy seafood feature, but it was creative enough that everyone could enjoy some aspect of each dish. In addition they gave us a great wine pairing, going for some more adventurous choices that matched our tastes.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish. Marlene really effectively encapsulates Portuguese seasonal produce in a fine dining manner. All dishes were carefully put together and the flavour combinations were tremendous. My highlights had to be the crab and Wagyu and giant squid course. Service was nothing short of exceptional. Every staff member was well drilled and professional, without being pretentious. The counter seating overlooking the kitchen offered a great view of the chefs at work. A real pleasure. Overall one of the best restaurant experiences in Lisbon. Congratulations chef Marlene.

I had an incredible fine dining experience. We were seated at the counter, which allowed us to watch the preparation and plating of the dishes. The food was outstanding, and the 12-course tasting menu was filled with remarkable flavors. I must admit, the desserts were quite challenging for me because I was so full. They use many Portuguese ingredients, which makes the dishes even more special. The service was excellent—super friendly and occasionally sprinkled with a bit of good-natured humor. The sommelier guided us through eight different wines, explaining each one and why it was the perfect complement to the dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant; it truly deserves its Michelin star.

This was likely the best 1 star fine dining experience I’ve had anywhere. Loved the vibe with the center open kitchen with counter seating around it. Made for an intimate yet approachable vibe. The food was engaging with almost every bite landing and making an impression. We went with the 9 moment menu which was perfect and opted out of wine pairing. My fav bite was one with tomato rice and monkfish liver. Service was friendly, explanations were clear, not rushed like an obligation but sincere in wanting you to understand the dish. They also escorted you to the WC which didn’t happen at a 2 star restaurant during the same trip (details matter). At 130 eur, this was also one of the best value for fine dining dinners I’ve had. Verdict: would return and recommend!!

One of the best dining experiences of my life. Incredible flavors, all locally inspired dishes, regional and local ingredients, prepared right in front of you with serving by the chef. Best value for money Michelin star restaurant I’ve been to.

A Culinary Journey at Marlene: We opted for the "Menu 9 Momentos," a surprise tasting menu featuring nine distinctive courses that took us on a remarkable culinary adventure. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed. Each staff member contributed to making our evening special, explaining the intricate details of every dish with passion and expertise. the creativity and presentation of each course, The stunning dishes and unique serviceware that complemented the artistic plating. Every plate was a visual masterpiece before it even reached our palates. The flavors were equally impressive—innovative combinations that surprised and delighted with each bite. The atmosphere deserves special mention—intimate and elegant without feeling stuffy. The restaurant's beautiful design created the perfect backdrop for our meal, enhancing the overall experience. For anyone visiting Lisbon seeking a truly exceptional dining experience, Marlene is absolutely worth the splurge. Highly recommended for special occasions or for anyone who appreciates culinary artistry at its finest.

I never leave reviews that are not 5 star but I did feel the need to write this review. Everything was wonderful and absolutely worthy of 5 stars. But with the food, i got an overwhelming feeling that the nearly 300€ with wine could be spent somewhere else for an even more mind blowing dining experience. Everything was great but nothing was memorable for me. Regardless, i would be delighted to go back and I leave this review only because for someone who is looking for their first michelin experience I would maybe just consider some other options in the city as well :)
