Philly Cheese Steak was delicious. Friends all loved their meals. Ten coworkers in and out on time for lunch.

Great portion Great food and awesome service. Our family enjoyed our last visit as always and never disappointed.

Nice older diner, nicely kept, great staff, good menu, and personal attention from our server. A small snag happened and the staff handled it quickly, keeping it a small snag. 10 out of 10 will return soon. (;

Clean. Good atmosphere. Friendly service. Food was great and as expected! Corned beef hash meal with pancakes. Egg, English muffin, hash browns, and 4 sausage links off the ala cart/sides menu. Ham omelet meal. Only $45 for 5 people!

I had a mixed experience at Marlin's on Cliff Avenue, but one person truly made a difference. Alyssa, our server, was incredibly kind, respectful, and genuine. Her sincere desire to provide the best service possible was clear, and she made our visit enjoyable. Unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations. The pancakes were rubbery, a disappointment that seems to be a consistent issue. The hashbrowns were warm and thick, but not browned, making them just okay. We were also surprised to find a charge for extra gravy on our $50 bill. The restaurant's cleanliness was another concern. The front of the restaurant was noticeably dirty, which made us wonder about the state of the kitchen. Additionally, another server seemed unconcerned about our satisfaction. Despite the issues with the food and cleanliness, Alyssa's exceptional service made the visit worthwhile. I might consider returning based on her efforts alone.

Good food at a good price. Friendly waitstaff and a nice atmosphere. My husband had the double burger and my kid and I had breakfast options...we all left satisfied. Only issue we had was the menu said seasoned fries and they were just plain so I’d say get the tots instead. Pies and bakery items looked fresh made. We’d definitely stop in again if passing through town.

Great people and fine chow, great value too, you always leave full. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

stopped for lunch on our road trip home to Minnesota from the west . Jaki was AMAZING! Ask for her when you visit! Food, service and facilities was great! Great diner feel/vibe. Pot roast was delish! Tasted like moms. Very comforting! Coconut cream pie was AMAZING! So glad we stopped. Hope you have just as nice as experience as we did.

Food is fantastic and the portions are big. Highly recommend if you are in Sioux Falls, SD.

The food was great! I was full before even taking a bite! Lunch meat salad for 13.99. And they didn't even supply mustard.

Just passing through this morning, on the way to Rapid City to see family, turned on my YELP app, and Found Marlins... With my Wife and Mother in law!! Great spot, with friendly locals, & good Breakfast! Food was fresh and generous portions!

Was not expecting American cheese on the reuben, but it was ok. The sandwich was good sized, with plenty of corned beef and kraut. I had roast beef (home baked I think) with mashed potatoes and gravy that was out of a can. I was so hungry it tasted good. Thankfully, I like instant mashed potatoes. Prices were average and the place was clean.

Excellent breakfast restaurant in Sioux Falls. Solid, fast and reasonably priced. Hit this place on way to out and back from Black Hills. On way out had the Belly Buster (it was the daily special). Eggs prepared just the way I like them (over medium) with Rye toast to boot. Will always hit this place when I am In the area!

Reliable place to grab some pretty good food. Feels very small town in a good way and staff is friendly.

Most the food was great except for mine was told no dairy but then I was so sick when I returned home but service was great very clean

Never let anyone say the Midwest doesn't eat well. I got sort of lost trying to find the place, because I'm an idiot, but it was worth the trouble.

Food was great! Price was great. I would say the salad was oddly very small with dinner, but left full regardless. It was served on coffee cup size of plate. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Lots of daily specials. We will be back as we past through to Mayo Clinic next few years.

I was in town for a family funeral. He was the last of that generation and none of know when we will or if we will return to the home town. So I'm feeling some feels for being in South Dakota for the first time in 25 years... I wanted a true SD breakfast. This was it. Between the food (arrived quick! Was delish!) And the others in the restaurant, I knew this was the place!

Where in the world do I start? Food is way over priced. Way way! And it taste like nothing? Came out cold and tasteless. How in the world can you mess up fries and a BLT? 9 people ate and not one of is said food was good. Age 6-67 too. The worst part however was the waitresses. Nasty and lazy. Ridiculous. So unhappy. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

Found by accident, hole in the wall. A place for locals, since it is a bit over a mile South of I90. Food was good, regular size portions. Our server, Lee(?) was great. Not a five star place, but it was good.

Great place for breakfast food with a big menu and very reasonable prices. I had the meat lover skillet and my husband had the cornbread Benedict and it was delicious

Stopped on our way through town for lunch. Fun atmosphere, great service, good food. I'd love to stop for breakfast sometime that looked really good, too.

The food is great here most of the time! They have cheap specials throughout the week as well. I recommend this place any day of the week over Perkins, Denny's, or even Fryn Pan.

We lucked out by visiting Marlin's on a Monday afternoon - burger meals half price! I had the bacon cheeseburger (perfect) and my girlfriend had the "old west" (delicious, she says!) I had the tater tots, they were perfectly browned and crispy, and gf had the hash browns with cheese and onion on top. Will definitely be making this a regular stop off 90. It's right off the freeway and parking is great. Staff are quick and friendly. Give Marlin's a visit!

Restaurant is dirty even during COVID when places should be extra clean. Passing through so we didn't have many options for breakfast. Coffee was tasteless, I'm a coffee enthusiast and that brown water tastes just like... brown water... totally disgusting! Eggs had a weird flavor. Staff wasn't very friendly and patrons were death staring us when we walked in. Probably not used to seeing many outsiders at that crap joint and it definitely showed. Made for an uncomfortable and tasteless experience. People giving this place 4 stars have a very weak palate. Being from Chicagoland we're used to good food. Feel bad for whoever really likes it there. Get out and taste real food please!

Awful service. Awful food. Just AWFUL!! The restaurant is connected to a gas station & looks dirty and run down. The one star is for the inside decor which is really nice...if not for that this place sucked and deserves a big fat 0!!

Food is good and a good value,staff was pleasant and efficient, The low grade is for the building needs maintance to fix several areas. Flooring and walls in the restrooms and entrance area

We stopped at Marlins on our way out of Sioux Falls in our way home to WI. The decor was kind of cool and our server was friendly and efficient. I had the biscuits and gravy which were really good. The menu says the biscuits are baked fresh and I believe that to be true. I ordered eggs sunny side up which were a little undercooked which is easy to do, but they didn't ruin the dish as they were served on the side. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

10 lunch specials available every day with drink for $7.99. You can't beat a good deal. A longtime favorite of the wife's family. A lot of daily specials like half price burgers or all you can eat fish, just pick your day. Be sure and ask for the pie, Snickers Cream or Oreo Cream Pie are worth a diet break

Nice, clean family restaurant. Stopped in for breakfast and wasn't disappointed! They have good coffee served in big mugs! Their pies and other baked goods look to die for! They also have giant cinnamon rolls! We also had great service.

Excellent breakfast spot with BIG coffees, plus it's right off the interstate. If you're passing through town, you should stop and if you live in SF you've probably already been here. Awesome omelets with generous portion sizes!

When traveling down 90 this is a must stop for me. Home style cooking and Good coffee.

Pretty darn good. Super friendly and attentive staff. Good food and good coffee. Huge menu selection. Don't be fooled by the truck-stop look. This place is real diner food. Also discovered that they have multiple locations. Good to know as I am driving through SD. Thanks Marlin.

This is the 2nd time we have walked out of Marlins without eating!!! We got there...took forever to get anyone to even take our drink order. When the waitress brought us that, she walked away, when we told here we were ready to order. She came back 10 minutes later. She took our order. We waited half an hour and our food wasn't there...there were several tables that got there AFTER we got there and they already had their food and was eating. There were 6 waitress's there "working" at the time. This is totally uncalled for!!! Get some waitress that want to work and not stand around and talk to each other.

Stopped in for breakfast. Fantastic! Between the three of us we had, Eggs Benedict, Cinnamon Roll French toast, and Country Fried Steak and Eggs. If it wasn't three hours from home I'd be back weekly. Pam was a wonderful waitress. Great decor. Loved it.

Marlin's does an awesome job of breakfast with good service and great coffee and excellent food, but they seem to struggle when the place gets busy, then the service gets tested and coffee cups go dry, and waiting for food gets long. They seem to have the same trouble as most restaurants in keeping wait staff. When the place is 1/2 full awesome, full not awesome. We still go back, but early.

Better than grandma's roast beef. Seriously. I've travelled all 50 states and that was some of the best meat I've ever rated!

Extremely poor service. Food was cold & mediocre. Sent back cold food, got it back still cold. The floor was filthy dirty. Our server, Kathy, had an very bad attitude, we will not be back

Marlins country grill is kind of an old time restaurant. You seat yourself at either a booth, table of even counter service. I stopped for breakfast and was greeted promptly by my server. She took my drink and breakfast order quickly. The breakfast was very good. Nothing fancy , but high quality food and service is why they have been in business for so long.

Great breakfast. Pancakes were very good. Coffee cups were large enough to last until the next refill. Eggs were cooked as ordered. Went back in a couple of days and things were even better.

Great place. Ate here a lot when i was in trucking school in sioux falls. Never got around to eating that BIG burger. But great food their, always a plesant visit. My company gives us coupons to eat at Marlin's for a little discount, all the workers at my company recomend the place. It has truck parkinging, not a lot, but enough to pull in with a truck and trailer. Decorations are nice inside, has that old clasic look of an old dinner/gas station. and my regards to Marlin founder who had passed some time ago.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I never write reviews, but people need to know about this. WORST SERVICE. We had a young waitress who forgot to put our order in everyone that came in after us got their food while we waited. They NEVER came to check on us we had to go find someone to help us. The manager put our order in after 40 minutes of waiting. But they did offer us a free cinnamon roll for the inconvenience. We told them no we just wanted our food. 15 minutes later just asked for them to put it in a to go box and asked if we could get a discount for how patient we have been waiting. The young waitress told us we had to wait because she had more tables to put orders in for. She was asking other waitresses if they were busy to "deal with us people" and when a waitress wouldn't answer her she used the F bomb saying "oh my f****** god". We never ONCE were rude when most people probably would have walked out. And we were fortunate enough to get the pancakes in our to go boxes that were sitting on the counter the ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE. We still had to pay 12 dollars.

Yesterday was my second visit to Marlins for breakfast when in SF. The first time was good enough that I went back. But yesterday was disappointing. One of my over easy egg yolks was already broken when served. A good waitress would not have served that to a customer. My hash browns were not cooked all the way through and the toast was cold and limp. It's unlikely I'll return.

after getting paid for hauling a truckload of frozen shrimp 1600 miles high on speed and mesquite this is just the place to drop in and chow down with other real men...not those effete poseurs down at minervas or la strada. Huge portions, drinks served in giant canning jars. I think my congenial waitress woulda given a bj for a fiver in the mens room, but no time, had to pick up a load of pork bellies in Sioux City and double gear it down to San Diego before the container ship RMS Belfast sailed for Shangai in 36 hours.. Thank god for uppers.

I was with a large group, so we had a fixed menu. The shark was very good, along with the choice of appetizers and deserts. A welcomed break from the prototypical dining experience with uniquely appointed chandeliers and rough sawn (but well sanded) tables. A definite stop.

Not sure if I caught them at a bad time or what but, I arrived at around 7pm and all seemed well. Gave them our order and got our first round of pop. Half hour later, was done with pop after maybe 15, got a refill on my pop and continued to wait. We we're visiting from the cities chasing some storms in the area, so time was crunched. Now an hour later, still no food. Worried at this point, and the waitress didn't fill up my empty glass again till almost the 30 min mark after I got my first refill. Found out, they were short a Cook and the supervisor there isn't helping? She literally managed the waitresses more than getting back there and dropping fried goods. I mean come on, one cook and no help is given?? So finally at 815pm, we got our food, ate and left. They gave us $4 off for the long wait. That $4 went to the waitress, because I can't blame her. Other reviews here are 90% positive. I am saddened to be one of the 10%. I gave 2 stars because "when" we got the food, it was really good.

I am not sure which one we stopped at, but the food was excellent. We both had the pot roast, mashed potatoes, vegetables, ... We had a Pepsi in a mason jar. The food was great, the service was great, did not have room for dessert, which we wanted. Great place, ....
