Marli's at the Pollard

We loved this place so much. The history of the Pollard is rich. We ate breakfast here 2 times on our visit to Red Lodge. Once inside and once outside. Outside we were greeted by hummingbirds and could enjoy the feel of the town.

Well, we have been here at the weekend before when it is busy, the food is excellent. However, I absolutely advise that on a Monday you better base your day around breakfast as the service is atrocious. 1. Received menu and cutlery 2. 10 minutes later received glass of water. 3. 10 minutes later ordered a coffee. I asked if we could put in our order as we had places to go! I have to serve a man who arrived before you first, she responded. Take a guess how many customers there were? 3 + us 2! Server thought cleaning behind the bar was more important than live customers, it appeared. Receptionist offered to help me with my dilemma, I just want to EAT, for God's sake! She left reception to suposedly assist. At that point my husband was patiently losing it, we left. As we walked out I heard the word "wierd" coming out of the receptionist's mouth. Disgusting. In conclusion, dont be planning anything else for the day, if you choose to breakfast here during the week unless they have support staff for tourism.

I was here with my parents tonight and immediately upon walking in, the bartender yells WE’RE ONLY SERVING DRINKS’. We informed him that was fine and that’s all we wanted. We sat at a table for approximately 5 minutes where not a single staff member acknowledged us or told us we needed to order at the bar, nothing. So, assuming this was probably the case, my dad went to the bar and stood there for 5-7 minutes and was never acknowledged in any way. Never once did the bartender say I’m sorry for the wait, I’ll be right with you, nothing. In fact, a couple that walked in after us was helped before us. There was a group sitting at the bar that the bar tender seemed too busy creating craft cocktails for. We eventually walked out and even then, we were not acknowledged. Very disappointing. We are residents of Red Lodge and typically this establishment is very good overall. This gentleman working tonight is the exception, unfortunately.

We enter the restaurant, there are 3 customers, 2 at a table, one at the bar. We could not find the waitress so after a while I went to the bar and found a menu for myself. 1st encounter, the waitress came to the table dropped off silverware wrapped in paper towel, she asked if we wanted water, I replied yes as she vanished round the corner and out of sight. 2nd encounter, after an excruciatingly long wait she came back with the water, and was immediately called to the other table were the 2 customers wanted something added to their order. She took the order and left She returned with another plate of food for them and vanished again. 3rd encounter, she came to our table and asked if we just wanted water or did we want something else to drink, we ordered coffee, we were ready to order out food but not yet it seems. 4th encounter, she delivered our coffee, we asked please can we order out food, she replied no I have to serve another customer who is ahead of you. We had been there over 20 minutes and there were still only 3 customers, We left

Beautiful atmosphere with delicious breakfast food and good service! Highly recommend for a comfortable, delicious breakfast when you’re in the area!

Great breakfast! Had the western skillet and the eggs Benedict and the ham in dish was high quality and delicious. The service was great. Shout out to our server Maya who was a blast to talk to! She was friendly and awesome! The cafe has a great ambiance to it. The eggs were cooked perfectly as were the veggies. Never ran out of coffee or water! Excellent service and excellent food. Highly recommend!!

Jimbo was absolutely phenomenal. The way he made me and my boyfriend feels so welcome and at home was incredible, I’ve never experienced customer service like this before. I highly recommend this place to anybody who is in red Lodge.
