Toast to International Chardonnay Day at These Spots Around Atlanta | Eater

"Ample parking and a spacious, all-season covered patio make this location another of Marlow’s best, and with a movie theater just steps away, date night practically plans itself. Catch an early movie to make it an unhurried evening and talk out plot holes over a glass of Harken Chardonnay and some apps. Check out the scallion-crusted triggerfish with Thai sweet chili or a burger with melted brie and tomato bacon jam. The shrimp and crab Louie salad — which features Old Bay-seasoned shrimp, lump crab, and sliced egg also pairs well with a chilled chardonnay." - Su-Jit Lin

Google
Mellows Tavern has always been a go-to, and I enjoy hitting up different locations to see how they compare. This particular visit had its highs and a minor low, but overall, it was still a great experience. My heart was set on their famous brownie for dessert, but alas, this location didn't have it on the menu. A bit of disappointment, but I pivoted to the butter cake, and wow, it was absolutely awesome! Rich, moist, and utterly delicious. My only wish? A scoop of ice cream would've taken it to heavenly levels. For the entrée, I tried the veggie burger. While the texture was good, it definitely needed a flavor boost, so I ended up adding some seasoning when I got home. On the bright side, the fries that came with it were perfectly crispy and seasoned. What truly shined, though, was the atmosphere and the wait staff. The ambiance was inviting, and our server was fantastic, attentive, and friendly, making the whole visit pleasant. Despite the veggie burger's seasoning needs, I'd still happily revisit this Mellows Tavern location and explore other menu items.

Google
Service was great our lady was nice. Food was not up to par. We got the crab dip, which taste wise was good but the dish was scalding hot but the dip itself was cold, meaning it was microwaved. I’m not particularly anti microwave but it wasn’t even hot. Then we got our meals and the fries were dark and soggy, but hot. I work in the restaurant world so I know they took old ass fried and re dipped them. Their grease very much needs to be changed as well. My wife got the panini and I got the black and blue burger; individually those were pretty good.

Have come to Marlow’s for many years and have always loved it every single visit. Pictured here is the ribeye steak with mixed veggies and duchess potatoes. Amazing dish, if you are in the area give them a try!

Google
Lovely atmosphere, friendly service and very good food. Love all the seasonal options and how there's always something new to try. I had the roasted chicken which was phenomenal. Super flavorful and juicy. Potatoes and Veggies on the side were also great. Definitely the best dish I've had from there. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
The food and atmosphere was great. All of the menu items looked really good. The waiter was fairly slow to check on our table so overall the service was ok not outstanding. We still had a great night and I would definitely go back again.

Google
This was my second time eating here. I'm the type when I find a dish that I like, I'll only get what I've tried and know I like. The menu has so many meals that sound delicious. I struggled with the decision to get what I ordered the first time or try something new. I decided to go for something new and I was not disappointed. I ordered the pumpkin crusted trigger fish. It was delicious. The flavors blend very well and the portion is perfect. I also ordered the coconut basil margarita which was amazing and the appetizer boom boom shrimp. Absolutely have no complaints about anything. My husband ordered the grouper sandwich, he says it was delicious also.

Google
Ate here before the movies that is next door. The food was great. We got the asparagus fries (so good) as an app but as soon as they set them on the table the food came right behind it at the same time. For entrees, we got a grilled grouper sandwich with fried okra, tacos with fries, a ceaser salad and a chicken tortilla salad with coriander & lime dressing. At the beginning we got our drinks and had to asked our server 3 times for straws. She never brought them. We finally asked another server and they brought them. After we got our food we askour server 2 times for extra salad dressing. After asking someone else for dressing and she came by the table again and noticed we still had not received. Finally she went and got it. We had to ask for drink refills too. When it was check time, we had separate checks and she but drinks on the wrong ticket. At the end she said it was only her second day but there is no excuse for us to have to ask more than once for something. Server was Alexandra, she needs more training.

We stopped in for a quick bite before a movie. They set us right away. Impressive, considering it 6pm on Saturday and thy after us out became 15 min wait. We did end up sitting there for about 10 minutes before anyone came by and said hi. Once she did come by, our waitress she was nice as friendly. My wife had a French dip and I had the black and blue salad. The steak was perfectly cooked (mid rare) and her fries were awesome. The food came out super fast too. I will say that the waitress didn't come by but once after we got our food and that was well into the meal. Annoying considering we needed ketchup. All in all, good was great, service ok, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
I forgot how good their food is! Great menu (lots of choices for everyone), reasonable prices, good portions, friendly service, fun atmosphere (although dark). ASPARAGUS FRIES - $8.50 Thin asparagus, tarragon, citrus aioli. So good, asparagus had the perfect crisp, loved the aioli ... addicting! ROYALE W/ CHEESE - $19.50 Wagyu beef seared perfectly & stacked, American cheese (salty), dill pickle, buttery sesame brioche (bottom bun soggy) w/ small side salad. The burger was very good, loved the charbroiled flavor. The salad was also very good, fresh, esp. loved the lemon dressing. My two friends said the Crispy Grouper ($17.70) is good - server said it's her favorite. The Shrimp & Crab Louie Salad ($22) looked very good too if you're looking for something light - lol looked small to me. I will definitely be back - I'd like to try their Smoked Trout Dip for the appetizer.

Yelp
I placed an order for pickup at this restaurant via Uber eats. When I arrive at the restaurant to pick up my order, it was 58 minutes after I had placed the order online, and it was not ready. No big deal, mistakes happen. However, the way it was handled by the manager on duty this night (Tuesday 5/6), was the problem. He came up to me and was immediately very accusatory. He said "you're picking up your own uber order? That's ridiculous I've never heard of that." And kept trying to insinuate that I was the one at fault for the order being missing. I even pulled up my uber eats app and showed him my name, order, time the order was placed, and address of the restaurant. He kept trying to insist that somehow I was the one that caused this mistake. He showed me his tablet for someone with a completely different name and order than mine and said "are you sure that's not you?" Finally, he reluctantly asked the kitchen to place my order, but never verified with me what the order was. He came back and told me "the kitchen is working on your Caesar salad now", even when I literally just told him that I didn't order a Caesar salad, I ordered a burger with cheese and a side of fries. He went back to the kitchen and said "burger with NO cheese", and i corrected him and said I ordered cheddar cheese. When the order finally came out, it was a burger with no cheese. He did not apologize at all for the confusion and made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. I left upset and probably won't be back because of his attitude.

Yelp
I LOVE MARLOWS TAVERN! I actually hate to tell yall kuz it already be busy lol their menu is simple but elevated, think a fancy ass Applebee's lol affordable, and good for the whole family. They have a darkish, swanky look that I love in spaces in general but definitely in restaurants. The staff is always cool af, down to earth, and genuinely invested in you enjoying your time at the restaurant. Food comes in good time, ive never had to send back a plate. Fellas this is a good date night that doesn't break the bank. Ladies act like yall aint see that! But everybody pull up!

Yelp
Nasty bartender! Nasty drinks!! GO TO SEED INSTEAD! SAME COMPLEX. The bartender at Marlows, Lauren, is a very nasty person. The only thing worse than her personality are her drinks. Dropped my car off to get detailed. Walked over to Marlows to grab a bloody Mary and a bite while I waited. Malow's is my go to in this area as my folks go here at least once a week. I'll suggest Seed to them with it's lovely airy patio and wonderful service! David met us at the door and was quite lovely! We made the mistake of sitting at the empty bar and not getting a table with David. Waited about 5 minutes for Lauren to make an appearance behind the bar. Once she finally graced the bar with her presence she proceeded to pour her friend another beer. Then realized her friend already had a full beer, so she threw the one she poured out. Then hung out and chatted with her friend. Eventually she decided to come down the bar to us. Yay! Lauren doesn't need to waste time on petty things like hellos. We were greeted with, do you want menus. Yes please! She threw those in front of us and turned to walk back to her friend. I called out, may I please have an absolute bloody Mary? My friend said same for me please. I think Lauren grunted in acknowledgement. She brought us the bloody Marys. My piece of celery was brown with no leaves on it. Mix tasted like pasta sauce. It had a sweetness to it. Yuck! The bloody Marys at the Midtown Marlows are delicious. This one. Not so much. I think a glass of Mr/Mrs Ts mix with a shot of vodka and fresh stalk of celery in it would have been better. Lauren set our drinks down and went to go back and talk to her friend. Once again I called to her back, may we please get the kettle chips. Another grunt of acknowledgement. Then she proceeded to pretend to clean the spot in front of her friend while talking to her. Never came by to see how the drinks were. I eventually got up and walked over to Lauren and her friend and stood behind them with the bar in-between us. Lauren ignored me. She knew I was there. David was happily helping his clients, but saw me standing there ignored and asked if I needed something. I said yes please, some worcestershire sauce. Lauren looked over her shoulder when I spoke then went back to talking to her friend. David was running something to his table. I interrupted Lauren's conversation with her friend and said may I please get some Worcestershire sauce? She snarled at me I heard you. He'll get it. I said no ma'am you do not speak to me like that. We're just going to go. Cancel our order. Whatever was her response. Then I said I'd like to speak with the manager. Lauren sniped she'd speak to them. I didn't want to just walk out and have Lauren call the cops, so I waited for manager. I could tell be the more pronounced snarl on her already petulant looking face she was trashing us. What we did wrong to her, I will never know. David brought me the Worcestershire sauce. Joseph, the Sou chef and acting manager came over and was wonderful. Moved us to a booth. We had David wait on us. I give the restaurant 2 stars for them. Experience was already ruined by you guessed it. LAUREN. My friend finished her Mary. I couldn't get past the sweet taste of the mix, even with the addition of Worcestershire sauce. I had 4 sips I think. I wonder if the great Lauren used some old mix left out from day before? I also saw Lauren surreptitiously taking a shot maybe hair of the dog? I wish she'd had more shots. Might have helped her personality. She's more suited to work at a funeral home than a bar. I don't know though, the corpses would probably get up and leave too! We left Marlows and went to Seed had a lovely time. Great Prosecco elderberry drink. The bartender there was delightful! Night and day from Lauren. Kristen, the lovely lady behind the bar at Seed, was slammed. Taking care of bar, her own tables, and all the orders with grace, wit and finesse. Lauren had her friend, me and my friend at her bar. Neither I, my friend, or my parents will ever set foot in Marlows again. They have lost our business to Seed. So, thank you Lauren for being such a bitter pill of a person! Without you, I would have just kept going to Marlows for years as it was my go to. Now I've discovered Seed! Looking forward to one of their wine dinners. This is my previous 5 star review I have taken down. As I said I won't be back here ever. I didn't want anyone else to get sucked into Lauren's pit of despair. 5 star review I removed from Dec 2023 Great food, drinks and service! I ordered the SHRIMP & CRAB "NACHO" PLATE Sautéed Shrimp, Crab, Pepper Jack, Fresh Jalapeño, but a food runner gave us J.T.'S KETTLE CHIPS Potato Chips, Gorgonzola Cheese, Scallion, Roma Tomato, Bacon. Thinking they'd made a mistake on what i'd asked for, we just went with it and started noshing on them. Thank Goodness! These were delicious! They were loaded with toppings. You got all the toppi

Yelp
Just picked up a to-go order. WOW! Everything was perfect! Two French dips with extra au jus and 2 sides, all hot, packaged so nicely. The tender, shaved prime rib with Swiss cheese & onions is just magical! There's no other word that works. The Mac 'n cheese is so good! Everything was ready when they said it would be... plus when I opened the bag at home, I found a little treat was placed on top! Perfection!!! Love the Marlow's at Shallowford & Sandy Plains. The staff are always really great.

Yelp
One of our old standbys...we like most everything here. It's typically consistent I don't get salads here bc a friend of mine didn't feel well after her meal...so I stick to cooked things but it's great for friends night out and light apps. Service is almost always great so that's a plus

Yelp
Comfort food was called for this evening. It's our second time at Marlow's, and was a good experience, just like the last time. We came on a Saturday evening. It was busy but not crazy. Fall Break likely has a lot of families hitting the road to be out of town. As a result, we had no line and a wonderful outdoor table overlooking the neighborhood Cinema. Ok not the best view but still it was quieter than inside. We jumped right into our order with kids sliders, a house burger and a shrimp Louie salad. We shared everything and everyone was happily satisfied. Nicole and I also had a couple of margaritas to relax, and those were good too. This might be one of my gotos for burgers.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Marlow's Tavern is really solid spot because of the consistency. I've been going to Marlow's for some years and have rarely had a bad experience. The ambiance is great, it has a intimate feel and I always enjoy the environment. The service is also really good. The food comes out at a really good time, the servers are attentive, and the wait time for a table usually isn't too long. The food is also consistently good. I personally always get the Chicken Panini and I don't see myself going away from this meal anytime soon. The reason for 4 stars is because while it is really consistently good, nothing is super outstanding. You know what you're going to get and that is simply good food that doesn't drop or rise in quality. It's just a reliable place for a consistently good experience. Marlow's is definitely a location I have visited with friends for a good meal and will continue to do so in the future!

Yelp
The fries and grouper were soaked in oil and burnt. Can't believe they would plate and serve.

Yelp
I didn't remember leaving a scathing review the last time I was here until I came to write this one. I came because a friend suggested due to location and decided to give it another chance. Bad decision. Burgers, tasteless but the fries were great. Credit where it's due. I presume they are frozen so the credit possibly goes to Cisco. Presentation left a lot to be desired. It seemed to be overstaffed with very lazy bored people who hung around the bar chatting. Same as last visit. The cocktails were below average with the bartender unaware how to maythe most basic drinks. Bad management, they need better training. Definitely my last visit. There's only so much mediocrity you can tolerate

Yelp
Went to Marlow's for a Mother's Day dinner and had a horrible experience regarding the food. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken had a horrible taste/texture like it was old. We let the server know and said that they have had that complaint before. Brought a fried chicken tender to replace the grilled chicken. I cut the new fried chicken and it was still raw on the inside. After this experience we will not go back!
google avatar

Nicole L.

Yelp
The food was good, we all got burgers. I think the prices were a bit high, which is why we all Got burgers, they were the cheapest thing we were interested in. This part of town is expensive regardless though. There was a short wait on a Saturday night but not bad. Service was quick and pleasant. I would go again some time. I think it is a chain.

Yelp
Solid Marlow's location and had a great time at lunch. Ended up ordering two items off of the seasonal/daily special menu. Watermelon salad and fish and chips. My friend ordered the hummus plate as her actual meal. When I asked for what beers were on top, the waitress handed me a list from her server book. I actually love this move because she didn't apologize for not knowing the beers or over explained that she had not memorized them. Without a beat she just handed over the list, waited for me to pick one, smiled and took the list back. Pure professional. We relaxed enjoyed our meal. The watermelon salad we had split between the two of us and the kitchen actually portioned it between two plates. We didn't even have to ask for that. Fish and chips was the freshest thickest two pieces of cod I've ever had for fish and chips. A little greasy, but that can be forgiven considering the fresh batter and the cook were perfect. Overall like every time I've ever been to a Marlow's, I felt welcome and calm and satiated by the time I left.

Pegge K.

Yelp
Marlow's catered our bridal shower for my future daughter in law. They did an excellent job. The pre planning was easy. Communications were very easy. The food and preparation were excellent! Chef came to our home, prepared the food so it was fresh and delicious! Staff served us and they were professional and courteous. They cleaned up everything and were reasonably priced. We will definitely hire Marlow's again and we highly recommend! Great job Marlow's!

Lauren R.

Yelp
We stopped in for a later dinner after a movie and had an exceptional experience with Brendan, whose service was outstanding. His friendly and personable nature made every interaction enjoyable. Additionally, his intuitive understanding of our needs ensured that everything went smoothly. Brendan's dedication to providing top-notch hospitality truly enhanced our experience. Additionally, the food was delicious- the Ahi Tuna Salad, French Dip & Firecracker Shrimp were among our favorites. We were the last table there but the manager, Matt and the rest of the team did not make us feel rushed to leave or make us feel unwelcome- which is truly a rarity in 2024! Every visit we've had at this location over the years has exceeded our expectations, the people make this place wonderful- to include the bartender Lauren & the bar manager, Jason. Great job on continuing to deliver best in class hospitality continuously, East Cobb team!

Yelp
I hate to give poor reviews but dinner was just meh. The fish tacos had such potential, but the fish tasted and smell old. All of the fried were greasy and soggy. The chicken panini was too gloopy with sauce you could not pick up the sandwich to eat it. The steak salad was pretty good. Steak was cooked right and salad was fresh. Overall Just fell like mediocre food. Will not likely return.

Yelp
I love Marlow's, always my go to for a burger and their Black and Blue Bacon Burger is outstanding! The Gorgonzola that is on the burger is LIFE! I always get a side for dipping my fries in ! The food is always fresh, hot and delicious! Asparagus fries are good but can be stringy. Jalapeño Nachos are amazing! But the Best appetizer is the Smoked Trout with Pita Chips on the side, AMAZING! Drinks are ok, a little cheap with the alcohol but I guess that depends on the bartender. Service is good. Ambiance is comfortable.
google avatar

Kate V.

Yelp
Marlow's is great every time. I docked one star because of the prices being outrageous, but still a very good meal. The food always comes out quick and hot, and very tasty. Great for a girls night or family night! Tip: get the asparagus fries. So good!

Yelp

Yelp
Kudos to Lance Hagen, Chef @ Marlow's Tavern Johnson Ferry... Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty...! Grateful.!!!!!

Yelp
Great local tavern tucked in the back of the shopping center. The patio is great and the bar has both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is as friendly as they come and the drink choices abound. For this trip, I stuck with unsweetened tea. They have some great weekly features. This week it's a burger with andouille and fried crawfish topping it off. It looks fantastic. I had the fish tacos. Hot and fresh!!! I recommend them. Come by when you're in The Marietta area.

Casey E.

Yelp
I recently read this review about Lauren and how she was a horrible bartender and I have to completely disagree with this woman Julien S. I have been going to Marlow's for many many years and Lauren has been nothing but accommodating and pleasant. She has been a staple in that company and if it weren't for her, I would not be a regular. I cannot believe that someone would waste their time writing multiple paragraphs about about somebody being so terrible about that is a pleasure to be around and also the reason I come there. So whoever you are Julien S maybe you should get a life.
google avatar

LaVelle J.

Yelp
So happy I chose this spot. After work after a long day and the food hit the spot. The shrimp and grits was a different style. Grit cakes with a tomato reduction, plenty of shrimp. The bread pudding came out hot with vanilla bean ice cream. Sooo good. Others had the bayou burger and the black and bleu burger. Looked fantastic! Can't wait to return.

Yelp
Totally ok experience - but that's it. It's ok. No drama, no dilectable cocktails, no great food.

Yelp
Food is good, service was good. No complaints. I've eaten here a few times and consistently have a solid dining experience.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and we got greeted within 3-5 minutes. We ordered the lobster and shrimp nachos (So tasty) We also ordered the grouper sandwich and spilt it so I didn't take a photo. The food was so tasty! The nachos were really good and unique as every chip was full of cheese. The bar was nice with and indoor and outdoor bar seats we decided to sit inside. The wings very good with a nice medium to spicy sauce and I liked the ranch. We will be back

Yelp
Marlow's on a Thursday evening around 8p... no wait, my girlfriend and I sat in the patio space, which is fairly spaced out but can hardly be considered "outdoor seating" for anyone considering this location a Covid-friendly location to sit outside. Inside was packed. Service was ehh. Our server seemed like he might have been having a bad day, so it started off kind of rushed while we took a few minutes to view the menu and order. Ultimately we landed on the Bri fondue appetizer to start. The cheese was tasty and it comes with pretzel breadsticks to dip in. Pretty good, no complaints. My friend ordered the salmon dish and I ordered the Wagyu burger. Both were tasty, the salmon was phenomenal actually. I tried a bite from my friend and I will absolutely be getting the same next time I come. The wagyu burger was juicy and cooked just right. I opted for asparagus fries, and hands down, the highlight of my entire night. ASPARAGUS FRIES - 10/10 We were deep in conversation when the food came, I forgot to take pics, but I did manage to grab a quick pic of our appetizer. Tasty food but service was subpar and the TVs out in the patio were playing some show where surgery was being performed and people were dying... not exactly the vibe we were going for.
google avatar

Mr And Mrs G.

Yelp
MR says... good food. Great place to hang out with my buddy MRS says ... we particularly like this location. Staffs are friendly... super nice folks. They are attentive and courteous. For dine-in, the patio seating is popular now a days post reopening from Covid. They do clean and sanitize after each customer. Staff wears mask. It's a conscious effort to ensure everyone is doing their part. Makes you feel in control of the situation. So here are a few things we normally get: - chicken wings (crispy and juicy wings. comes in 8pcs I think) - firecracker shrimp (it's like the frozen boom boom shrimp from wholefoods with the whole shebang of chili sauce) - chicken tenders and fries (who doesn't love some fried food) - RIBs (it's seasonal so when they have Ribs and Whiskey menu do try 'em) - asparagus fries My personal favorite is the grilled salmon. It comes a little buttery and delicious. It's the Tavern Favorite too! They have kids menu. Very kid friendly. Family friendly.

Yelp
Marlow's is our favorite restaurant in East Cobb. We eat there several times a month and enjoy our meal every time. Great service and a welcoming, casual atmosphere. A must try.

Yelp
Asked them to put on NBC. For the GAME SHOW wheel of fortune. It was for my elderly grandfather, manager came over said "we can only play news or games" ..... it's on NBC network which shows nightly news before hand, and it's a game. Before my grandmother passed she used to bring us here guess the place has fallen off since then.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Always busy, always miss managed since the day it opened! We get there is nothing else in East Cobb, but that shouldn't be your claim to fame. A half hour wait is over an hour. Half of the tables in the restaurant are empty and they don't know how to fill them in a Friday night. The service is always subpar and the menu has been consistently mediocre. I would think we'd want more! Thank goodness for the bar tenders keeping up!
google avatar

Jacq M.

Yelp
Quality bar food. Generally good service although there is often a wait to be seated. Sometimes to-go orders are hard to place. Nice patio and double-sided bar area!
google avatar

James W.

Yelp
The service is very poor. My appetizer sat there forever with no napkins. No plates. Very very poor wait staff and the food arrived cold. Place has a lot of potential to be good, but I do not think they value the customer. Maybe it is time of day at lunch that is a problem for them.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
We had a wonderful Friday night meal at Marlowe in East Cobb recently. Our waiter Tarique was so helpful with us as we struggled to pull up the menu from the barcode over the table. Although we had trouble, this is a great safeguard for COVID19 to keep us safe. All employees also wore masks. We had really excellent signature cocktails - a berry mojito and a blueberry mule. The special appetizer was roasted cauliflower covered with cheese and it was too die for. My salmon was perfect and my husband's burger was delicious. And we were so pleased that they could do crème brûlée to go. It was creamy and perfect. The executive chef even checked on us to see if we liked his appetizer creation. All in all, a great and safe experience!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday and found this to be a decent bar/restaurant for a burger. There were two of us and we came in at the tail end of the lunch hour (1pm) and the place was probably half full. Getting seated took a few minutes - we were just about to seat ourselves and a server came by and took us to our table. She was very nice and had another server come over right away to get our drink orders. We found service friendly, but they seem to be short staffed - three or four servers, one cook (?), and another guy wandering around who may be a manager. servers seemed to be stretched pretty thin, but they were running and we didn't wait at all. I had the Black & Blue burger, which I found to be very good. A little heavy with the Gorgonzola cheese sauce, easily scraped off to the right amount for me. My companion had the chicken sandwich, which she said was very good. We didn't wait, but you could see staff was running which may translate into longer wait times during a busier time. Overall a good option and we would try again.

Will M.

Yelp
Marlow's is a chain, and, yet, one of the better upscale restaurant/bar options in the East Cobb area, overall. That may say more about the competitive set, than this location. The entire brand chose a smart formula of operational excellence during the pandemic (decent taste + speed + convenience). For context, we have deep exposure to more than one location before and during the pandemic. Unfortunately, we've had 2 meals comped in the last 8 weeks because we needed to call the GM about the inconsistent experiences in the last few weeks. Tonight, there were 3 critical issues in our 1 family order (e.g., not having a protein in a kids dish or lacking a salad dressing), and the response was, "ask for the GM first next time when you order." Sweet. Will I go back? Maybe. Still debating. But it does seem counter to the Marlow's Tavern Rules inscribed in the menu... Finally, yes, these are '1st world problems' in a pandemic world. This is why we have waited so long to even begin making complaints. There were several more incidents we ignored for this reason. Enjoy. Hope this note can change something for the positive.

Yelp
Marlow's Tavern at Merchant's Walk (East Cobb) is a nice place to relax and enjoy their good food. They have a Wagyu burger that's mouth-watering enjoyment on a bun. My friend had a Salmon Salad which was tasty, he said, and looked it. Our lady server was a hoot, too (I forgot her name . A few weeks later I took my wife there for lunch. She enjoyed her burger, too. If you're at Merchant's Walk around lunchtime, duck behind Kohls (in the left-hand corner) to enjoy a good meal.

Yelp
This place has definitely gone downhill. Quality and portion sizes are not the same as they used to be. Their fries used to be the best thing on the menu, now they are cut thicker and nothing special. Errors are consistently made by the kitchen compared to the way things have been ordered.

Yelp
We LOVE our Marlow's! Not only is the food fabulous but their staff is phenomenal! Made a reservation to host my daughter's Sweet 16 and they came through with flying colors! Literally EVERYONE took care of EVERYTHING! We brought our own sparkling grape juice to mix with glitter and the staff took care of it for us! As soon as I arrived, someone took the cake to refrigerate. Our waitress, Sonya, was so attentive and on top of everything! We loved her! Thank you Marlow's! Great job!

Yelp
Took my Mother here for years, at least once a month. She tells me she no longer wants to come here. The reason- The hostess yells, with a very loud voice, to the other employees. She shouts from the main floor area to the Kitchen station, right in your ear when you are trying to enjoy your meal. Completely unacceptable! This is not the Varsity Lady! Please get rid of this employee so we can come back and enjoy the great food and the other respectable servers and bartenders.

Yelp
Please stop using your first booth as a host stand. We thought the table was dirty we didn't know. It's helpful to write down all the items that are ordered by the guest and remember to put them into the computer. One app was left off.. When you drop off a drink and there's an empty glass please remove that empty glass and don't continue leaving it there. Please drop appetizer share plates off prior to appetizers arriving so you don't have to ask runner for plates. If you're going to have firecracker shrimp and it's going to be a tempura fried shrimp please don't cover it in a soggy sauce that therefore makes the shrimp soggy. Also if the word firecracker is in it a little bit of spice would've been nice. If you cannot figure out how to drizzle a spicier sauce on the shrimp I would suggest putting the sauce on the side so you can at least find the shrimp under all that sauce. The feta cheese that was in the sizzling spinach dip was very off-putting. It did not go with dish. It was not crumbly more rubbery. why was it called sizzling anyway? I would highly recommend putting the side salad on a separate plate then with the burger because the salad that arrived at my table looked completely hideous, the amount of I'm assuming is crouton dust overwhelmed the warm lettuce that was completely saturated with an unflavored sort of dressing. Sat under the heat lamp much? When you are cooking fries please don't overcook them or cook them till they are hard for they will remain on the plate and end up in the trash. If you need to change the oil more often please do so. That makes for pretty fries. Adding some sort of burger set up on the side of the plate will allow the burger to look more like a tavern burger than a fast food burger. The grill man does a good job cooking the burgers to temp. Congratulations. And as far as the crème brûlée if you could get the temperature right it was both warm and cold and barely set. It was on the sabayon side then brulee. When every single plate is left on the table and it's up to the guest to stack it to make room, that is an issue. All in all, I would not have allowed the homeless lady out front begging for money to eat ( she was very polite) to have eaten inside your restaurant. If you're the kind of manager that looks at this kind of review and goes "whatever" than I feel sorry for your guests. Having had over 40 years experience as a chef manager and every other position there is in the restaurant business I was pretty let down on my birthday. Thank you. If you need a real corporate trainer let me know.

Yelp
With so many existing and new locations around town, it's a wonder I haven't tried Marlow's sooner. I visited the spot for a casual lunch and I'm glad I finally did! Marlow's has a pub vibe, with dark interiors and a prominent bar. They also have a large open kitchen, allowing guests to see all the behind the scenes action. We started with the hummus, which I wasn't terribly impressed with. BUT, I was majorly impressed with their caesar salad! I ordered the French dip sandwich and selected the caesar salad as my side. The sandwich was good, but I couldn't eat the salad fast enough! It's one of the best - if not the best caesar salad ever. More times than not, caesar salads are a pitiful excuse of a salad - especially as a side order. Marlow's managed to take a boring salad & elevate it to the next level! My vegetarian friend had the veggie burger and enjoyed it. I've never been a fan of veggie burgers, so I took his word for it and didn't try it. The one thing I didn't like - they use paper straws! I didn't think we would see that change in Atlanta for some time to come. Yay for the environment but boo for the mouth. Sipping through a paper straw is such an odd sensation that manages to make you even more thirsty as you're trying to quench your thirst - like you have gauze in your mouth! Other than that, Marlow's gets my vote for future visits :)

Yelp
I'm giving this place 2 stars only because we were not treated nice. Our waitress seemed sweet at first. She got our drinks and asked what we wanted but we weren't ready at the time. I hate to make it a race issue but we were the only black couple dining in so I already felt uncomfortable. Our server completely ignored us after getting our drinks. I watched as she helped every other table but ours. I felt it was very strange that as were walking out she didn't even acknowledge us. She was also standing near the door when we walked out. I did pay for my sweet tea I took two sips of but I definitely won't be coming back.
