Marlow's Tavern

Went there for late lunch. Tried their burgers... not bad. But when I compare the price and quality of food (freshness, tastes and preparation) with Chili's, for me Chili's is a clear winner. My wife ordered truffle fries with a $2 up charge. Honestly we couldn't tell the difference between regular and truffle fries other than see the seasoning. Overall not impressed.

I went to Marlow’s Tavern and I don’t think I’ll be returning. We arrived and were seated and ordered and received our drinks. Our waiter took a while to get to us to place our order. When we did finally order, it took us almost an hour to get out. My steak wasn’t cooked the way I ordered it and the waiter did take it back to have it cooked correctly. The vegetables weren’t at the correct temperature. the potatoes were cold in the middle. My son’s burger was pretty good and the onion rings were good. I loved the atmosphere and that you’re able to watch the games on multiple televisions. Overall, the food is ok but they are extremely slow.

Even though the Filet Mignon was worth every dollar, I was super surprised at the TABLESPOON portion of side vegetables that came with the steak. Also, the side order of broccoli arrived cold. Had to send it back to warm up. It was in the middle of the afternoon, fathers day. It wasn't that busy. There was plenty of time for the details. Also, our server, the customer experience representative, had their mind someplace else other than work.

Ordered the tavern burger and they charged extra for “jumbo asparagus” as an upgrade to the tavern fries and I got 5 small asparagus. The burger also was tasteless and was definitely a frozen patty.

Truffle fries were thick cut and mushy and didn’t have taste like truffle. Brisket sandwich was small and minimal meat. The cornflake French toast was absolutely covered in pecan and than wasn’t mentions on the description at all. Server disappeared for at least 15 min while we were trying to order

French dip was delicious, but INCREDIBLY soggy even before dipping. It's technically a sandwich, but I really needed a fork and knife to eat it. Unfortunately, it was takeout I was eating in my car during my work lunch break, so I didn't have utensils on hand. I went through soooooo many napkins! Very messy meal. But like I said, it was delicious. Maybe a sturdier bread could help this problem? Will order again, but next time I'm asking for to-go utensils!!

Nice neighborhood tavern hang out, friendly service. Came in for lunch on New year's day and all the covid-19 rules were being followed and lots of space between tables. lots of healthy options on the menu excellent pulled pork sandwich and a breakfast if you're nice to the staff they will make you something off the menu loved it.

Went for lunch today with my daughter. Had to ask for refills on drinks multiple times times. My meal came out and hers never did. We had to ask what was taking so long. Her meal came out after I finished my meal. Had to ask for a check. Jimmy was not on task. Walking around a lot but not checking on tables. They offered no discount. We won’t be back.

Marlow's has been a weekly staple for me and hubby since we discovered it and generally, we love it. But tonight we had family in town and decided to take them all out for a tasty dinner at Marlow's and ended up changing our plans after we were seated and leaving to another restaurant before things got even worse. We asked for a table for 10 and the server who saw us come in arranged a few tables to accommodate us. It ended up forming a long table with an opening only at one end and since that would make it uncomfortable if anyone on the closed end needed to get up for any reason, we asked her to move it slightly over to create an opening on both sides, which she did but not without looking rather annoyed at the request. This was not a server we had seen before on our many visits. After being seated, our party sat and talked for about ten minutes waiting for someone to come and give us water or even menus but that never happened. This was a Monday night, so the place was pretty dead and there were only 2 or 3 other small tables in the whole place besides us, so there was really no reason why we should be ignored for as long as we were. We kept looking around to see if anyone might help but the lady who sat us was just kind of lingering near the kitchen and wouldn't even look in our direction and nobody else checked on us. It sucked because we were with some of our elderly family that aren't easy to move around with too much, but if nobody gave us so much as the time of day in the first 10 minutes of sitting, we were pretty sure things were not likely to improve by waiting longer, so we decided to give it up and go to another nearby restaurant where they were much more eager to serve our large party. While it was not the norm that we have experienced here, it was quite aggravating to have to move our family from one place to another. The fact that we are regulars here made it sting a bit more because we definitely expected better treatment, especially considering that we spend quite a bit of time and money here. We ended up going to Rojos Mexican in the shopping center across the street and it did not disappoint, so it worked out in the end. I realize this was probably an off day and maybe just bad timing with staff we didn't recognize but it was disappointing enough that we will likely take a timeout before returning for a bit and we certainly will not be coming back with family or friends anytime soon either.

Food was seriously good ! I'm so impressed, the prime rib sandwich was one of the better ones , the fish tacos - WOW!!! I will be back specifically for that dish ! It was pretty busy on a Friday night at about 6pm but we got seats fast and food wasn't a long wait Music was at a good level, very family friendly, lots of families dining in but also dimly lit so could be a nice date night spot !

I absolutely loved this place. First of all, the service here was amazing. We ordered the wings, but they dropped the order. When I asked for it, they acknowledged and offered it for free. The burgers here are so good. I definitely enjoyed every bite of it. The place has its own vibes, very Alpharetta. I will come back if you visit here again.

If you're hungry, this isn't the place for you. I've never seen a smaller portion size of salmon. Definitely not the place to take a family unless you love swinging thru a drive through after dinner to fill up your kids. It's a joke and we won't be back. $70 for 3 people, no apps and no drinks, and I'm at home fixing everybody something to eat 15 minutes later. Save your money!

Food always consistent...but service hit or miss as they have good servers and very lazy servers who stand at the back and chat and look at their phones vs paying attention to patrons

I notice a decline in some restaurants since the pandemic .... but Marlow's -- both the service and food -- is as good as it's ever been. Catching up with an old friend, our server was attentive but not hovering, which was perfect for a leisurely lunch. Though it's been off the menu for years, the kitchen still prepares banh mi sandwiches, which has always been my pick. One gets a choice of grilled or fried chicken -- grilled is better! -- and a side. I think their garden salad is good and the ranch dressing is better than in most restaurants. My friend ordered their crispy grouper sandwich with a Caesar salad. They can prepare the sandwich somewhat spicy (as described on the menu) or not -- which was my friend's preference. Prices are commensurate with the area, and parking is easy in the shared lot. As I've noted before, Trader Joe's is in the same strip mall which is convenient for a post-lunch visit.

Usually the food is reliable. Over last couple of months food has been very very poor. Too bad because service is great and we like the ambiance. We have discussed with the Manager and she would rather debate our complaints. Pretty poor. Will be a while before we return.

This is my local Marlow's Tavern. I've been here dozens of times but this may be my first review. Through the years, the service and food have always been consistently good. In the past I've really enjoyed their Sunday brunch. Prior to 2020 they offered a breakfast buffet that offered a great variety of options. If you download their app or join their Insider program, you can receive rewards including a free entree during your birthday month. When I dine solo I typically sit at the bar. This time I tried their filet and substituted for them twice baked potatoes side. The steak was super tender and grilled perfectly. The potatoes tasted very flavorful and the broccoli was super fresh. Mercedes the bartender provided excellent service. I'll definitely be back again and again to enjoy all of their standard menu items and try some seasonal menu specials.

Add another Marlow's to our list of Marlow's that my son and his wife want to try. My son and his wife and three children live in Marietta and every time we go down to visit, we take them out for lunch with the stipulation that it is their choice. They seem to like Marlow's Tavern which has a goodly number of locations in the Atlanta Metro area and each time they want to try a different one. Originally, we just stayed with the East Cobb location but they have branched out and this time they wanted to try this location in Roswell. Roswell in east of Marietta but only about a 20-minute drive from their home. After shopping for shoes at Coggins for the Grandchildren we drove over and easily found the restaurant. Not that I am that good a navigator or have a GPS but we were in Brian's Car and he knew the area. It's a nice restaurant and when we got there, they had to do a little planning. We were after all, a party of seven with two adults, two senior and three very active children 9 years and less. A restaurants worst nightmare but fortunately the kids were very well behaved. No one killed anyone else. We started with some beverages and my wife had a Black Russian, Jill (my daughter-in-law) had a glass of white wine, my son stuck with Craft Beer and I had unsweetened tea. The kids all had juice. We started out with some sharables for the table which included Kettle Chips, Hummus and my wife's favorite, the Asparagus Fries. Jill is a fan of the Hummus. For the main course, my wife went with her favorite Black and Blue Salad. Jill had the Crispy Grouper Sandwich while my son had the Tavern Burger. I had the Black and Blue Burger. All were great and for the kids, like most young children, for some reason their meal of choice is either Mac 'n Cheese or Chicken Finger. They scored on both and were in hog heaven. Service is very good, and the facilities are very clean and well maintained which is indicative of good management

Had a great meal here yesterday. Service was anticipatory and quick. The Black and Bleu burger was delicious as was the twice baked potatoes. It was extremely hot outside and the restaurant was exactly the right temperature. The booths are comfortable and in great condition. It's a great go-to place for lunch and dinner.

Marlow's Roswell was crowded on Sunday night but we got seated fairly quickly. Matthew was our server and he was as congenial as he was competent. (We'll ask for him next time.). My darling wife and I split a Caesar salad but had to request "no kale" in it. (Who puts kale in a Caesar salad in the first place?). My wife's chicken panini sandwich was tasty as was my French dip. The French fries were exceptionally good - fresh, hot and with a slight crunchiness on the outside. The roast beef in the French dip was plentiful and flavorful. The melted Jack cheese and caramelized onions on it made it that much more delicious. Marlow's doesn't disappoint and we can't wait to return again.

So I normally do not write reviews but my experience here was absolutely terrible. I got a blackberry mojito that had chopped up mint that made the drink undrinkable. I also did not realize that the tavern burger does not come with cheese. Kind of odd, but oh well. What really sealed the deal was my waiter's terrible attitude towards my table specifically. She acted all smiley and happy to the others, but to us she was cold and barely said a word. This was truly just a tremendous waste of time and money.

I've always liked Marlow's for their consistent food quality and reasonable prices. Had lunch here yesterday and they have tweaked their recipe for the Very Very Veggie Burger to absolute perfection. If anyone from Marlow's reads this review, please don't change this recipe as you've finally got the best veggie burger possible. The only negative of our visit is I took my sister out for her birthday lunch and they didn't offer her a birthday dessert. Service was fast and friendly. Not the fanciest place in town but great for a neighborhood tavern.

Terrible, terrible service. Don't go unless you have several hours to wait for your server to finish talking, looking on phone or using the new label maker

This was my first time coming to Marlow's Tavern and it was an ok experience. The food was ok, and the menu had very few choices of food that are somewhat pricey for Tavern. PARKING | [ Parking was easy to find because it's in a big complex with other restaurants and businesses, so you will find plenty of parking all around.] EXTERIOR & INTERIOR | [For finding the location, the address takes to a different side of the complex that is not the exact address, so they do need to update their address that is accurate. The exterior of the building is simple and straight forward and the interior of the place is a little dark but somewhat okay for spacing. ] IS IT CLEAN? | [For the most part, test it is clean and they keep it that way for the majority of their opening hours.] FOOD & DRINKS | [ For the main part of the review, food & drinks. All I have to say is that there were more drink options than there were food options. I wasn't expecting them to have such few food options for a place that has mostly booth-style seating. When the waiter was helping us get food, he emphasized how fresh the food is and its in-house made. They gave us recommendations on what was good and which ones were the best, but I saw they were recommending the more overpriced items. We ended up getting the flatbread, tavern burger, and veggie burger. The flatbread was good but it was the ranch that honestly made the difference of the flatbread and made it a pass, but everything else about it was meh. The burgers were ok but weren't delicious. The only thing that was good out of everything was just the fries. I had the veggie burger which was honestly sweeter, mainly because of the carrots, but was not the best veggie burger out there. It was a little underperformed for that style of burger. For the regular tavern burger, it was ok as well, it wasn't the best because the taste was a little underwhelming. It felt very basic and wasn't hitting the stop that I wanted another bite. Now comes the vegetables for both burgers. It wasn't fresh or felt fresh when taking a bite because a burger should have a juicy, crunchy, sweet taste than a saggy leaf taste. And lastly, the pickle that they had or made wasn't that great because it wasn't the traditional way of having a pickle. It was a pickle in Saltwater and nothing more. No Tang. If they didn't have the fries to help save them, then this would be a 1-star review.] SERVICE | [Overall, the service was great and was spot on. The waiter we had did a nice job and was making sure we were served properly with care.] OVERALL | [For the first time experience coming here, it wasn't that great. The menu was underwhelming and the food was a little lacking. This was a Return visit to this local business. Once again the staff makes this location enjoyable to eat at. The staff graciously welcomes you and the waiting team quickly meets you at the table to bring you refreshments. The menu items are always tasty. I try different selections each time. Some of my simplest favorites are the asparagus fries and the Royale with Cheese Everything on the menu is delicious- yep, I have tried them all! You can't go wrong eating here !

D'angelo is a fabulos bartender. He makes a fabulous vodka martini. Shrimp and truffle fries were delicious. Good vibe overall , A/ C was pumping , Tv's were one, good Sunday funday spot. My only issue was with the guy next to me that kept coughing my way ... lol.

Shrimps and Grits, my favorite! Too bad I move to another town. Drinks are great. Cool vibe for a nice family meal.

This is definitely the best Marlow's Tavern location I've ever been to. The service was great and the food was way better quality than I usually get at Marlows. I had the Black and Blue Burger and it was very tasty. I look forward to dining here again

Inside is tavern welcoming with nice booths and clean. Service was probably near the worst I've had in a year and normally I'm fairly forgiving. Wine took about 20-25 minutes, nobody checked in and didn't come until we asked again. Asked for ketchup for kids burger, never came. Asked for tarter sauce on the side, never came. Next the food. Asparagus fries delicious, which bumps it up to 3 star review. Had the filets, minimal or 0 seasoning. Potato pankake was not a potato pankake at all, incorrectly named on the menu, it was hashbrowns, extremely fried to a crisp. Wife's grouper sandwich was good. I'd be willing to give it another shot, may have been an off night, but if service is that slow a manager should probably step in or atleast give some explanations. Also, left feeling ill after eating here.

Marlow's is a great place to go for lunch. The food is good and reasonably priced. I eat low carb and they are very accommodating. I was there this week and had a grilled chicken sandwich without the bun and a side salad. With the tip it was under $20. I think that is reasonable for a delicious and healthy lunch. I also like their Chicken Stack and Black and White Burger. My friends and I eat on the patio on most visits. It's nice to have a local, comfortable place to visit with friends for lunch.

Great and somewhat different food. Cool ambiance. We've been to both locations in central Florida several times and the Marlow's here and we've never had a bad experience.

Food here is usually good but today, the service was awful. Attention wait staff: Write down orders! Don't act all smart like you remember and then bring out the wrong thing. I wanted ketchup and the staff disappeared. Never brought it. I wanted salad dressing and the waiter brought me hot sauce instead. What the heck?? Other Marlows Taverns have much better service. This one needs to get its act together!!

Love the staff here. Always make me feel welcomed, great service and fast. Rarely have an empty cocktail glass. Thank you Marlowe staff for treating me so well! This will continue to be my favorite spot to bring clients for a simple, quick, in and out spot for apps and cocktails during a meeting.

The food is always good. We have a special menu item that we go there especially for - the salmon with couscous. Very good! Creme brûlée is delicious! And the cocktails are always good. Love the old fashioneds and martinis! Want to give a shout out to the waiter, Brian Johnson. Went on a busy night and he was excellent!

We ventured out to lunch yesterday for one of the worst meals ever. Our fish was not cooked or seasoned well on our tacos. The truffle fries had no salt and tasted off. Even my kids complained. To top it off after tip it was an almost $100 lunch. I will not return here.

Hannah welcomed us @the bar w/exuberance!! The crispy grouper sandwich was amazing I modify it w/Swiss cheese red onions & fresh avocado!! The restaurant is a ittle cold bring a sweater!!

I've never had any issues eating at marlow's, great food and great atomsphere. They have vegan options and the service has been great!

Very consistent...good food...good service. We love the bartender, Red, in Roswell on Fridays. She makes it fun!

went in for lunch , was greeted & seated . not busy on the inside , a good amount of people on the patio . It was just three of us . myself , husband & 4 year old. while looking at the menus no one came to at least give us water (even ask for drinks) understanding service providers , especially when BUSY a wait is understood . again , not busy inside . a couple before us was greeted & seated , then us . couple sat across from us was waited on with drinks & placed an order . meanwhile us , still sitting there waiting to be acknowledged . I do understand waiters have different sections to tend to . but NO ONE came . not even acknowledged by the waitress tending to other ppl out of curtesy to see if anyone has came by . all in all bad first time experience , very disappointed

we had a bad experience today. The menu is trick-inking customers . I tried to order some kind of Wagyu beef but end up with burger. I do not eat burgers. My husband ordered some kind of fancy shrimp plate and end up with shrimp pasta ( that's what it said on receipt) . I just truly believe the waitress should give us a better explanation of the food. There is always something to learn we always loved Marlow's restaurant' but today's experience had my opinion ./

Excellent lunch on Monday. The service was fantastic, thanks Jeffrey! Jeffrey, all smiles, made wonderful recommendations and explained the lunch specials very well. The food was excellent, presentation and temperature was spot on! Definitely recommend the Crispy Grouper Sandwich, it was so tasty and cooked well!

We have dined here many times and never had a bad experience. It's our go-to place for birthdays and other special family occasions.

One of our favorite places. Great atmosphere, excellent cocktails, incredible food, and consistently impeccable service. They treat you like family.

The service was excellent but the food was horrid. Worst salad I've ever had. The Caesar salad was more kale than romaine, had no Parmesan, and only one crouton. The dressing was either missing or so bland as to be indistinguishable. I paid extra to have my salad supplemented with broiled chicken and the chicken was only about 1/3 of a breast and cold. Very disappointing.

A decent experience, it is an okay chain that usually delivers good quality food, this one had a longer wait time and the waitress forgot our drink order so they lose a star there and the food was not as good as it has been at other locations.

Quality is consistently good the outdoor patio is very comfortable for the meal. The servers are friendly.

This is for the Cumming location. Great food. Seating is minimal, unfortunately. Prices are a bit higher than I think they deserve. The crab nachos are sooo good and the black and blue burger is so good. Sides are all excellent and I think they're all made in-house.

I really love this place the food is so good , the people is great , good atmosphere , I don't know what like the best if the tavern burger or the fish tacos ,omg don't forget the fried asparagus with the aioli died for it .

Maybe it was the wine or company, but this visit was 5 stars. We ordered for the table, and was pleasantly surprised . Our waitress was fantastic, fun, and prompt. The food arrived hot and freshly made. This location was alot better than the shalloford one. Food was better, service was better, overall the clear winner.

Had an awesome time celebrating a birthday last week. Food was on-point, service very good and the vibes were just right.

I've been to 3 or 4 Marlow's in the area and today was my first time dining at this location. The food is a 3.5, but I'm giving this place a 4 because of the amazing service we received today. Cameron was amazing and treated us like royalty. We tried a bunch of new items today and ordered some of our favorites. We had: Shrimp and crab nachos (2 stars - they weren't really nachos. They were more of a flatbread.) Hot Wings (3 stars - they were decent enough, meh) Firecracker Shrimp (4 stars - these were cooked perfectly and came with 2 dipping sauces) French dip sandwich (3 stars - I've had much better, but it was good) Parmesan truffle fries (5 stars - these things are AMAZING. you have to order these) Asparagus fries (5 stars - we fought over these. Okay, we didn't fight, but we strongly considered ordering another one)

Without a doubt one of my favorite casual local restaurants. Tried a "New Fashioned" this afternoon, which is now my favorite cocktail and for the first time had the Chicken Panini sandwich (because I thought nothing could be better than the fish tacos or pastrami melt or chicken tortilla salad). I had no idea that the Tempura Battered Mozzarella listed as an ingredient was actually fried cheese curds and added a punch to this delicious sandwich. Why aren't these cheese curds on the menu as an appetizer? Deelish!!!!

Once again Marlow's doesn't disappoint. Service was great and food was amazing. Would recommend the crispy Panko cauliflower and firecracker shrimp for appetizers!!

I'd give them 5 on the food but the overall experience was a 2 at best. We arrived about 8:15 on a Saturday night and you'd have thought it was midnight and closing time! We had to flag down a manager to get service and then when service showed up they said they were supposed to be done taking tables... couldn't open a bottle of wine... they were mopping the floors around us and the table next to us was a bunch of servers who weren't working evidently... we felt like we were an imposition. We like going here but this experience isn't unique when it comes to service. If you have patience then you'll do fine, but don't expect good service

This is...difficult to adequately describe. I'm visiting from out of town, waiting for an appointment at a salon nearby and thought I'd drop in for a quick bite. This place is remarkable! I travel A LOT. I have eaten out often. I have worked in the hospitality Industry...but rarely have I felt so welcome and cared for. Shaun P. Is seriously one of the best servers I've ever encountered. Having said that, it's nice to feel all warm and fuzzy about a place, but if the food doesn't back up the service then not much to "five star". The food is also exceptional. House made dressings were so good! I will be back.
