Marmitón

"An intimate restaurant with a rustic feel, run with great skill by two chefs. Classically inspired cuisine with a contemporary touch and a focus on strong, defined flavours." - Michelin Inspector

Popped in for a quick visit while it was raining, and my god… thank god we did because the steak tarte can sit on my face. The waitress was absolutely lovely, quite funny. Will need to come back to order everything on the menu, but highly recommend

Shared photos of some of what we ordered. This was back in the winter. Everything exceeded or expectations, we're definitely going back!

I have visited a couple of times this year. Great experience in both occasions. What I most liked: - food is well taken care, full of flavor - service is 10/10 - the place itself, in La Latina, takes you out from the traditional Chamberi, Salamanca, etc, getting the best of the modern gastronomy Total hit

We booked a reservation for a family of 4 at Marmitón in advance of a trip to Madrid to celebrate a wedding anniversary. What a memorable meal it turned out to be. This is an unassuming, intimate restaurant with a warm, inviting vibe. We were greeted with a kind smile and attended to professionally and hospitably throughout our entire meal. Each dish we tried was spectacular, but for me, the real standout was the cochinillo. I will dream about that flavor for a long, long time. The fresh bread basket with the miso butter was also incredible. The bill for a full 3 course meal with a bottle of cava and dessert digestifs came to 280USD, which I think is a great value for the quality of food and service we received.

Marmitón is a small place, but it packs a big punch. The dining area is small, but this allows for an attentive experience in which I couldn't help but peek at the kitchen as the staff put the final touches on dishes that were happily taken to tables and presented perfectly by the friendly waiters. The sights, sounds, and smells add to the overall dining experience. The menu is also small, as it uses in-season ingredients which means each dish is full of flavor and makes you wonder what they will invent next. For example, the white asparagus dish was phenomenal, and we were lucky to get the chance to try it as we were told asparagus season was almost over. Between two, we ordered a starter and four dishes, and although satisfied we were so pleased (and so curious) we ordered another and a dessert. If you like fresh, seasonal flavors and classic, no-frills cuisine that is still a luxurious and fine dining experience, Marmitón bistró is the place for you.

The dishes are creative. We love every dish that we had. I especially like the lobster tartar in lobster bisque. The crispy potato noodle is a great for the lobster bisque but it is not oily at all. I recommend the flan with the sheep’s milk. It has a rich taste but nos not too sweet.

A great experience! Everything was original. We had two aperitivos, two starters, one main course which we shared and one desert (see pictures). We also had three glasses of a very good white wine (Rincon - very fresh). The food is plated beautifully, and they put different textures, so that you get a really nice bite. The service was impeccable, the waiter helped with choosing between the various dishes. It’s a small restaurant (up to 24 in a seating), they have one chef working in the kitchen, one chef plating, and two waiters/bartenders/platers. Bill was a bit above 100 Euros, which I find a good VFM.

This was one of the places I had bookmarked a while ago so I was really excited to visit. Every single item was so delicious, our main dishes were unique too. We had a late breakfast so we didn’t get to try more items, will be back next time I’m in Madrid!
