Which Minneapolis and St. Paul Patios Are Open Right Now, Summer 2020 | Eater Twin Cities

"I found their patio is currently open with tables sometimes placed on existing patios, in parking lots, or on sidewalks; guests are asked to wear masks and all staff will be masked, with precautions in place—check with the restaurant for individual days and hours. Studies suggest lower exposure risk when dining outdoors, but that benefit depends on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines." - Joy Summers

What a fun place! We wanted to try something new and each dish had such a cool Costa Rican flavor. The yucca fries and the dipping sauce were excellent, the burger was so delicious and the scallops appetizer was delightful. I also got a guava agua fresca. The gallo pinto with chicken was good but lackluster. I expected a little more flavor from the chicken. But I’d gladly go again and try more things from this gem in Robbinsdale!

Google
Cute restaurant with tropical vibes. Tacos were good and a great special that runs on Tuesdays! That ceviche was surprising good. 😋 And I highly recommend the fried calamari and empanada dessert. Damn delicious. The cocktails were not my jam, though.

Google
This is a late review. Wad our Valentines dinner here because we knew all other places where going to be booked and this place was had also been on my “want to go” list. Our dinner was fantastic! From our drinks to our meals to the service. Atmosphere was great and definitely makes you feel like you are on vacation when you enter. The food was amazing! Colorful, well plated, and overall flavorful! The experience was great and will be coming back soon!

Marna's Eatery and Lounge is amazing! The menu boasts a delightful mix of traditional dishes, each bursting with fresh and flavorful ingredients. It's clear that the kitchen takes pride in the quality of their food – everything tasted like it was made in-house. Marna's also shines with its impressive craft cocktail selection. they are thoughtfully crafted and provide a wonderful accompaniment to the meal. Trust me on this, save room for dessert! The churros with coconut ice cream is the best i ever had! I highly recommend Marna's Eatery and Lounge to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Costa Rican flavors, expertly crafted cocktails. I will be returning to this place, and I will sit at the bar where we received the best dining experience from Miguel.

Google
Had a delightful breakfast at Marna’s last week. Steak and mimosa flight were amazing and the shrimp/rice/guacamole thing and the bloody Mary were pretty good. Service was a little bit on the European side. Get the habanero coconut rice.

Google
Marna’s was absolutely amazing. We went on a Thursday night and it wasn’t too busy. Everything I put into my mouth was delicious. The mark of a favorite restaurant in my book is that not only is the food exceptional, but that I want to come back and try other things on the menu. This is one of those places. The service was perfect and the vibes were good. Can’t wait to go back and try more dishes 😋

Google
We ordered the Plantano Maduro(plantains) and Guacamole(yuca) appetizers. Everything I've had here is really good. Since those were filling and it's Tuesday we ordered some tacos. I'm not big on fish and I tried one but I really don't care for fish unless it's super fresh out of the water. But the Al Pastor was great. My friend had chicken which was great also. I live in Phoenix but every time I come I want to make sure to hit it up.

Google
Wow, so glad my friend had heard of this place and recommended it. All the food was fresh and fantastic! Great flavor combinations and reminded me of my trip to Costa Rica many years ago. The drinks were off the chart too. Yes, La Pina was worth every cent! Just wish I was drinking it on the beach!

Yelp
Marnas is amazing! I'm so glad my friend suggested this Costa Rican restaurant to support on a Friday night. The space is big and spacious, with plenty of street parking plus their own parking lot in the back. We started with delicious cocktails like their margaritas and piña coladas, served in fancy glasses that made the experience extra fun. For dinner, the fried calamari was outstanding, and the mussels were incredibly fresh. That coconut broth oh so flavorful! I think it's used in several other dishes, and I highly recommend ordering it. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. Overall, such a great meal and experience. I can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
I highly recommend this place. It's a great place to go in the cold to feel like you are somewhere warm! Parking is street parking or in the back for all of the businesses in this area. The staff is friendly and the only thing I would say that is negative is service is a bit slow. Just go with island time. I definitely recommend dinner, brunch, or just going for drinks at the bar. My favorite drink is the rum old fashioned (Campesino) and my wife's favorite is the El Puerto.

Yelp
Marnas was lovely! I enjoyed the fun, tropical yet cozy atmosphere. Our server explained the happy hour menu and gave some recommendations. We tried the calamari, ceviche peruano, mussels, and arroz con camerones. My favorites were the calamari and mussels. Will be back to try drinks and dessert!

Yelp
Some of the best food I've had in a while! I had the chicken empanadas, tostada, and platano Maduro. The proteins in each were sooo flavorful and everything was fresh. The cocktails are large. I spent $100 on a date night where we tried a few things, including drinks and dessert. The vibe was so cute - like a tiki bar! My only qualm was their menu denoted a seafood allergy notice for a steak dish I really wanted to try. The staff wasn't sure why - they looked into it and said it was due to the rice, which didn't make sense because other dishes had rice too and no denotion. I do have a shellfish allergy - this was mostly sad because I wanted to try those dishes, and wish the staff was a little clearer. They were friendly though! Overall would come back!

Yelp
Super cute ambiance that definitely transports you out of MN to a relaxing, tropical island. We also loved the open kitchen concept. Started off with the seared scallops, which were good, but the scallops were tiny. Why not go with larger scallops and bump up the price? I selected the El Dorado and was just a little miffed that the coconut habanero rice didn't have more flavor. The star of the show was my husband's Casado, which he was kind enough to share with me when he noticed I wasn't eating my meal with gusto (we swapped plates halfway through). Also, the La Pina drink was visually appealing, but I wouldn't consider it worth ordering again. While we did love the ambiance and appreciated the culinary vacation, the only real downside was our server, Victoria. She seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else than at work, and didn't check in to inquire as to how we liked our food or see if we wanted any other beverages. We'd planned to order dessert but got so tired of waiting that we paid as soon as we could and grabbed some elsewhere on the way back to our hotel.

Yelp
Great presentation on the dishes, tasty, fresh ingredients in a cute stylish space. Friendly staff. Street parking or free parking lots down the block.

Yelp
Perfect brunch spot for our little group. The food and drinks came out quickly. Everyone really enjoyed their dishes.

Yelp
Marnas has been on my list to go to for a while and I was not disappointed! The ambiance makes me feel like I'm somewhere tropical and the food and drinks were not only delicious, but beautiful as well. We ordered per the recommendations from our server and everything was great! The lavender coconut margarita was the prettiest purple color and so refreshing and our meals were packed with flavor. I would love to come back to try more!

Yelp
This area is becoming the hidden gem of eateries. I love trying out new foods, especially Latin - this is Costa Rican influence dishes. There's 2 rooms to the restaurant, one is the bar and the other is the bigger dining room. They also have a big patio area too. Service was great, they gave us recommendations to order. My friend had the cocktail in a real pineapple. I had to order tres leche first because we always get so full and no room for dessert. Food was flavorful and fresh.

Yelp
Randomly came to Marna's for dinner with my fiancé one night and we ended up LOVING it! Everything from the drinks to the food was so fresh and full of flavor. Our server was really helpful in giving recommendations since we weren't sure what everything was the on the menu and we loved what she told us to try! There is plenty of seating inside and we can't wait to come back in the warmer months to enjoy food and drinks on the patio. The ambience is so cute inside too, perfect for a date night or dinner with friends!

Yelp
First time eating brunch at Maria's. We shared the delicious and fun Mimosa flight. The flavors were: Guava, mango, naznjlla, and passion fruit all super delicious! The service and food and Maria's never disappoints. And that cornbread of there's which I did not get another photo of is out of this world nummy! Love this place. Great attentive service and cute atmosphere.
google avatar

Jestina G.

Yelp
The food was really flavorful and delicious for the appetizer I got seared scallops, which came with roasted poblano orange sauce, sweet potato purée and roasted corn. For my entree I ordered the gallo pinto it has Rice and bean blend served with sweet fried plantains, sour cream, sunny side up egg, guacamole and a tortilla aliñada I added some carnitas for some extra protein. For my drink I ordered a mimosa flight and La Pina which had rum haven coconut water rum, coconut cream, lime, and pineapple juice

Yelp
Decided to try their brunch because I enjoyed eating dinner there one night. Their brunch is might be better than dinner. I ordered the steak and eggs with a side of French toast. Wonderful flavors throughout the steak and eggs dish. I didn't like the French toast at all (just not how I prefer). Can't wait to try more on the brunch menu.

Yelp
Great vibe Plantains were amazing. Vegetarian I am and grateful they had dish's for me. Flavors fell a bit short (bland) for me on both the rice and veggies. Margaritas were delicious Cheers

Yelp
Marnas was super tropical which is exactly what we had been looking for! Parking was a bit full but I was able to find a spot by the laundromat. The interior really catches you by surprise from how different it is to Minnesota winter! We came in for brunch on a saturday and had a mimosa flight, corn bread, yuca fries, steak with eggs, arroz con huevo, and another dish that I forgot but have a picture of. It did take a while to get our food although it was not super busy. The mimosa flight was okay, next time I'd pick something else for drinks. The yuca fries were pretty good! They actually have seasoning here. My friends loved the corn bread but I prefer it to be a bit sweeter. My friend had the arroz con huevo which she loved! It looked delicious and the shrimp were seasoned to perfection. I had steak, eggs, and potato's which was all wonderful and super filling. 8/10 for these two. The dish that I forgot the name for (pic included) is the only one i'd skip next time. We were having a pretty good time except our waitress seemed to rush us out even though it was 2pm and there were only three people at the bar besides one other table in the whole restaurant. She told us she was rushing us because her shift was about to end and even after we paid she sat there for another hour. This made us uncomfortable and she didn't really seem like she wanted to be there in the first place. We still tipped decently and our total bill was $130, hopefully next time the service is friendlier!

Yelp
I came here for brunch and the drinks are phenomenal. Our server was so kind and fun. Each wall has a unique feel to the jungle vibes. I love the vines, plants and pictures that were around.

Yelp
Stopped here on an early Friday evening, glad we did because it got busy really quick. We decided to sit at the bar since we didn't plan to eat just grab a drink. When we first walked in the staff were having a huddle and I was impressed with the amount of staff present. I believe the drink we ordered was called Arandano Martini, it was good and pretty. We also ended up ordering guacamole which came with frites and seasoned chips. The guacamole was good as well. I would definitely go back to try more food items & drinks. The staff were nice and friendly, very attentive. Overall a good vibe.

Yelp
First time here this past weekend. The food and drinks were very good and reasonable in price. Our server was very knowledgeable with her recommendations.

Yelp
A group of friends and I had a lovely time at this restaurant recently. This was our experience! There is a free parking lot in back and then you walk to the front to get in. It looked like there was a small patio that is open when it gets warmer. The ambiance was fun! This is not a large place so it feels intimate! The kitchen is open so you can see the preparation of your food if you want. The service was pretty good until we got our food. Then our server disappeared for quite a while. Otherwise very friendly! The food: I had the ceviche and burger. The ceviche was just ok. The fish was delicious, but the onion kind of overpowered this dish. The subtle coconut flavor was nice though! The burger was one of the best burgers I have had in awhile! I don't typically order burgers over tacos but I had seen good reviews and it definitely lived up to the hype! Lots of flavor and textures! Definitely a must try! Yum! It is worth noting this is also served without a side. I'd recommend this place for a date or friends/family get together!

Yelp
Delicious ! Some wicked Latin flare in the upper Midwest !! Round 1 Ceveche, maiz Dulce, and plantains maduros. All great ! Make sure you get some extra sauce on the ceveche it's a wonderful coconut milk base with spices. The maiz had a smoke corn/cheese flavor and delightfully spiced. Who doesn't love a little caramelized plantain?!? Pair it with a coconut curry sauce and black bean **chefs kiss** Round 2 $28 Bistec Encebollado - make sure you get a fork/spoonful of all the ingredients ! The steak is in a delightful vinegar chimchurri on the steak which highlights the caramelized onions and a twist of coconut habanero rice. MN spice level 5/10 spice level anywhere else in the world 1/10 El Dorado- delicious fish cooked perfectly with a crispy edge, paired amazingly with the coconut habanero rice and mango salsa. . . Going to get again. And I am not a fish guy ! Round 3 Flan toasted coconut on a large portion of flan with thing smooth caramel. Churros. Warm, plush, and paired with homemade coconut ice cream and SMOOTH caramel (pretty sure I use the same caramel recipe for my cheesecake. It's a flavor texture you can only make one way... don't worry your secret is safe with me !) My ONLY recommendation is bring back the tres leches even if from time to time. I have seen many pictures online and I want it but they stopped serving it about 6 months ago. The environment is wonderfully decorated and just a delight to just soak in !

Yelp
This place is outside our usual boundaries for brunch. However, after looking at the menu, we decided to give it a try-and boy, I'm glad we did! Sat at the bar, which was available for a walk-up and started with Mimosa flights. They have a variety of juices all paired in the right proportion with the sparkling (just a spritz). For entrees, we had the cornbread, Arroz Con Huevo, and Gallo Pinto . Hands down, the cornbread is the best in town. If you get nothing else, get the cornbread! It's made to order so it comes out piping hot and delicious. The Arroz Con Huevo and Gallo Pinto were also amazing and HUGE. We could have split a single item and still have gone home satisfied. We will be making the trip back up for sure. NOTE: Brunch is only available on Saturday!!

Yelp
A couple things, there's a parking lot, and there's three entrances that makes it confusing as hell. The entrances take you to what feels like three different spaces that are all part of the restaurant. However, only the street facing entrance takes you to the host stand, all entrances are open but you're only suppose to go to the front...think of it as a maze activity before dinner. There's the main dining area, a "lounge" area that looks more like a restaurant than a lounge, and a cute outdoor space that makes you feel like you're at a beach resort. We sat outside. For food: Vigoron, yes, gimme more. Crispy, crunchy pork belly thats also so juicy and succulent. The slaw was great and you get yuca frites with the pink sauce that has Big Mac sauce vibes, but better. Chicken Casado: Meh, chicken was cooked well, it was seasoned-ish, but the dish overall was missing fireworks. Needed a punch of flavor, could have used a hot sauce...or the pink sauce. Mahi mahi ceviche: Yup, get it. You have the bright lime flavors and tender mahi mahi, it was refreshing and so light you may as well not count the calories. Yuca Frites: Perfect, I'd take yuca frites over French fries anyday. Gauc was gauc. I'd skip. Dessert, the churros, a bit too doughy for my liking and it had zero flavor. The coconut ice cream, however, was divine. It had so much coconut flakes that it was cake like. I'd like a carton of the coconut ice cream. Service was friendly, but painfully slow. We arrived at 4pm, hardly anyone else dining that early, yet it took 2 hours for us to finish our meals. Our drinks took forever, food was pretty quick, but everything thing else was snail like. We had to go find our server to pay it was taking so long. Overall, I'd come back for sure, but I guess I'll plan for 3 hours next time :/

Yelp
Plenty of friends have recommended this spot, so on a Friday night, we ventured to Robbinsdale for date night! There is street parking or a small lot to the right of the building! You enter a plant wonderland that is super inviting and sends you instantly to the Tropics! The main dining room is a far superior interior than their second room, which is unfortunately where we got sat! Service was pretty lousy during our visit, which is why I deducted a star...we waited 15 minutes for our server to come to our table, she missed details about our order, and continuously left us waiting much longer than we should have. Probably just a bad night. The food was stunning, though! We started off with the yucca fries, which had an AMAZING duo of dipping sauces. Then we enjoyed the Arroz con Camarones and Fish Tacos. Both were decent size portions with plenty of flavor! The real winner of the night were the churros...which were paired with a DELISH coconut ice cream. I would eat a whole pint of that stuff! Definitely worth a trip to check out this food and fun vibe! Just hope you get a better server than we had!

Yelp
I had dinner here in mid January and it was my first visit. First off know that it is street parking so that may take you a minute to do. Second when you walk in the space is fun and festive with a great ambiance to it. Everything looked so good on the menu and the waitress was great at answering any questions we had. I started off with a cocktail called El puerto and really enjoyed it. My friend had an NA beverage and it was great and how cute it came in a pineapple! We shared the Yuka Frita and crab cakes. Both were tasty, but I fell in love with the yuka with the avocado dip. When I ordered my seared scallops, I appreciated that the waitress let me know how large the serving was and suggested I get the jalapeño rice to go with it. I was happy she made the recommendation and that rice was amazing! I also tried my friend's Areoz Con Huevo. It was like art on a plate and tasted great! Lastly we shared a Dulce deleche cake. The overall experience was good and I would go back if I'm in the area!

Yelp
Haven't been here in a while and am happy to report that I still love this place! I love how bright fresh and airy the tropical vibes with the island music playing in the background make me feel when I enter ,like I'm on vacation even though I'm in the surburbs! Stopped in right after they opened cos we were hungry and had a great dinner that consisted of the Marna's burger and Arroz Con Camarones The burger is really good - unique twist with the curry flavor and hint of pineapple . You can order a side of yucca frites or chips otherwise be aware it does not come with anything but it is big and filling in its own The arroz dish is a combo of shrimp and mango cabbage slaw served with their special coconut milk rice which has diced ham and jalapeños in it - plantains are served in the side and they are always cooked beautifully here! We tried a new dessert here the affogato- Marna's had their own spin on it this time with coconut ice cream their famous cornbread crumbles and toasted coconut. It was yummy but I would prefer less coconut flakes as the texture was a little strange for my liking! I do wish they would keep the Tres Leches as a perm dessert item too! It was not listed this time around Service has definitely improved here , we were greeted by everyone who worked there and all friendly smiling faces and in a timely manner Cocktails are a must here- one of my faves being the El Puerto which can be dangerous as it goes down too easy The Ahumado smoked cocktail is a crowd pleaser as well Looking forward to my next meal there Happy to support good local businesses
google avatar

Renata C.

Yelp
First time at Marna's and it was such a great experience. The decor and ambiance is so fun with the Costa Rican flare from the tables and lighting to the tucans and plants. We got the guacamole to start which was delicious and well seasoned- and I love the yucca fries for dipping. And then I got the Casado with Carnitas for my entree which had lots of flavor and my favorite part was getting a little bite of everything together. My husband got the bistec and it was cooked perfectly and paired well with the chimichurri and habanero rice. Will definitely go back to try brunch!
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
This place is suppose to be a costa rican restaurant which it has some hint in there but its more so american. The service is good although I was set in the empty part of the restaurant. Could have set me at the bar so I can get some content. The food was good but it wasnt like Costa Rican good more american good. The mimosa flight could have been better they use a non sweet champagne its that strong dry one which overpowers the flavors they have for the mimosas. Try them out!
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
We came here and had a great time! It was a little difficult to find the entrance since they have two businesses next to one another but besides that the service is great and the food is delicious. The server was knowledgeable and she the cocktails she suggested were so tasty, I want to check out their brunch so I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Super adorable restaurant with incredibly friendly servers! Met up with my sister-in-law for brunch and had their steak & eggs. Oh my gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about the amazing burst of flavors the strip steak has!! Well seasoned in all the ways, I got mine with an over easy egg and it paired so well with the baby potatoes. I also got a side of cornbread - it's made with real corn baked in so it is the most moist and fluffy cornbread you will have ever had!! If you're lucky enough to be in Shannon's section, you'll be doted on and adored, she is so lovely!

Yelp
The wife and I stopped by their for dinner on a Thursday night on a whim. It's in the "downtown" area of Robbinsdale on the busy street that is home to some great places to eat and shop. Parking was easy in the lot next door. The place has a lively tropical décor. The server was very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home as if we were a regular even though this was a first time we had been there. We started off with the Yuca Frita and the Cornbread. Both very lovely. The yuca was fried well and came with a couple of dipping sauces. The cornbread was delicious with the honey butter. Shared a Bistec Encebollado for our entrée and the steak was cooked perfectly. The chimichurri was fresh and the rice had a nice kick to it. Had a couple of delicious drinks to go with the meal and overall a great experience. We would definitely be coming back.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were blown away by this cozy Costa Rican inspired restaurant in downtown Robbinsdale. Restaurant: The area is only a few blocks from the hospital I work at and reminds me of a small town vibe. I loved the interior decor with warm hues and a jungle vibe that definitely brought me back to when I visited the the lush landscape of Costa rica. Food: I ordered the El Dorado which came with a moist piece of mahi mahi and habanero coconut rice. I love spicy foods and thought it was delicious but I'd stay away if you can't handle heat. Service was quick and attentive also Drinks: I love the presentation of the drinks. I got the Patina which is a sweet plantain daiquiri served in a bowl and my fiancé got the Ahmuado which was smoked perfectly. I can't wait to come back here again and try all the different dishes and drink. It's a perfect atmosphere with great food for date night or a girls dinner!
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner with a friend who raved about this place. When I walked in, I thought the place was kind of small, until I realized it wrapped around the back and there's a whole second section. It was a nice vibe in the restaurant. We were greeted by a lovely server who was so knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the tostadas, and my friend was going to get the tacos, but our server suggested a couple things she might like that are similar but different. She ended up ordering the gallos de papas. Our food was DELICIOUS. Not an ingredient was off. Everything was perfect. TLDR; it's amazing and worth a visit.

Yelp
Cute spot for delicious brunch drinks and food! The la piña drink was my favorite, it was perfectly sweet and refreshing (and so cute inside a pineapple)! The food was delicious as well, my favorite were the steak and eggs and the avocado toast with carnitas. Dedicates parking lot and great service with a cute outdoor patio. I'll definitely be back to try their dinner menu as well!

Yelp
Make a reservation! So happy we did for our girls night dinner after entering. The seating is limited and cozy with a chill ambiance. I loved you could see Into the kitchen, people watching at its finest. I loved our entire experience. Highly recommend

Yelp
Fresh South American vibe, with amazing flavors that will surprise your expectations!! Creamy cheese egg dish was just a beautiful pop of culture dancing in my mouth!

Yelp
Delicious food. We went for Bruno and were not disappointed. Great ambiance and service. Can't wait to go back.

Jason S.

Yelp
Went here with friends and thought highly of the place overall. The ambiance was great overall. Very well decorated with a good vibe. Service was friendly and attentive. Was generality impressed with the food with a few misses. Loved my burger with I got because it was unique with pineapple and bacon. Was a bit disappointed that it didn't come with a side. I got yuca fries as an add in and they were great but I thought for the price they should have been standard. Ceviche for our appetizer was under-seasoned but good otherwise. Lives my run old fashioned but my fiancé though her virgin pineapple cocktail should have had more liquid given the size of the container and no alcohol.

Yelp
I absolutely love this quaint, little, Costa Rican inspired restaurant in downtown Robbinsdale. All of the service staff is always so friendly and chatty, yet quick to make your experience exception. Everything on the menu is phenomenal. The Seared Scallops are a must with just the right amount of heat/sweetness balance. The Marna's Burger is also incredible and features a chipotle seasoned beef patty. Marna's truly offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the twin cities for Costa Rican fare
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Robbinsdale! There's great food for a wide variety of palates, and they have some of the best cocktails in town. I take all of my out of town friends here because the vibes are a perfectly cozy and vibrant. Make sure to get extra Mama Rosa Sauce!
google avatar

Monique H.

Yelp
The Tortilla Aliñada is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The flavor combinations were dreamy. This dish has a cheese and mass tortilla with a generous portion of carnitas, tomato-pepper sauce, and a fried egg on top. It's so good, I've thought about it since. I didn't go inside, but rather sat on the fairly spacious patio. It was brunch time and pretty busy. Service was a little slow, but as I said it was a busy morning. The food was well worth the wait. Would definitely visit again!

Yelp
I enjoyed my first visit to Marna's Eatery. The outside gives nothing away to what awaits you inside. The decor is beautiful! It is a cultural experience and continuous eye-candy. The servers were friendly. They answered my questions about items on the menu. And even entertained my broken attempts at Spanish. The food! Oh My Gosh! What a taste pallet surprise of deliciousness. The presentation of our taste plates were delightful. The cocktails were very good. No skimp on the spirits.

Yelp
It's almost the weekend = BRUNCH is upon us Marna's Eatery and Lounge @marnaseaterylounge Marna's is nestled in the thick of downtown in the City of Robbinsdale and Chef Rolando Diaz is cookin' up a menu that combines his love of Costa Rican cuisine with American flare. They just started brunch back up again and are serving it every Saturday 10am-2pm. Check it : Alinada Bennie ~ carnitas * tomato pepper sauce * masa tortilla * eggs * hollandaise **the carnitas are so tender and flavorful and practically melt in your mouth. The masa tortillas are thick and hold up nicely in the rich broth base** Marna's Bloody ~ Shrimp * Bacon * Cheese * Olives * Pickles * Celery **great spice level on their bloody and the accompaniments are perfect**

Yelp
Spied this place on Instagram and had to try it. The place is charming and is quite big. When we were walking by I looked through the window and discovered the whole entire back room that was hosting a private party. Food ordered: Shrimp Tacos- was told they were really good with a really good tortilla. Yuca Frita- tasty, but very over salted. Ensalada Tostada- beautifully presented and told it was very tasty. Arroz con camerones- beautiful presentation, but the texture of the rice ruined it for me. It was mushy and I'm not a fan of mushy rice. It had 4 big shrimp and a cabbage like salad with a subtle mango pineapple salsa. It just wasn't my jam. Service was decent. Our server was friendly, but after we were done we got that feeling of hurry up and move on. I get it... they want to turn the tables over, but there weren't hordes of people waiting and it's nice to be able to catch up without feeling rushed out. Charming place. May venture back for brunch sometime.

Yelp
This is a bit of a trip for some, but it's 100% worth it. The decor is beautiful: the space is airy as a whole, and the individual tables and booths cozy and intimate. The decor is lovely, too: lots of green, and decor that reminds you of nature. Our server, Jeremy, was very friendly and knowledgeable (and very patient with our many questions). If you come here, don't pass on the cocktails. We ordered smoked Campesino, which is an amazing multi-sensory experience. The presentation is striking (smoked means a glassful of smoke over which the cocktail is poured), and the smoke allows you to begin enjoying the cocktail before you take a sip. I ordered the Goma Moral, which was positively exquisite. The lavender bitters are unreasonably good--the aroma fills your sinuses. Appetizers were the cornbread, the guacamole, and the ceviche. The cornbread is very tasty: it is not at all like the kind that comes out of a box (thank goodness). It's moist and sweet thanks to the whole kernels that are scattered throughout, and it's almost creamy in texture. The guacamole is also excellent: the avocados that they use are perfectly ripe, granting that beautiful smoothness that we all love, and the diced veggies and microgreens add gorgeous depth of flavor and texture. The acid level is on point. The guacamole comes with tortilla chips that are fried exactly right and yuca fries that made me realize that I need to learn how to cook yuca. (They're crispy on the outside and have a beautifully creamy and starchy interior. I don't know what they season it with, but it might be magic.) For my entree, I asked for a recommendation for the best vegetarian main. A server recommended the gallo pinto, and boy am I glad that she did! It was a delicious bowl of flavor and texture. It's a hug for your belly. The portions are very generous, so I have lunch for tomorrow, too. (Psst to the people who insist on meat: non-vegetarian option available!) Last but not least is dessert: we ordered El Morenito and Tres Leches. The El Morenito is am awesome blend of flavors, temperatures, and textures, and the Tres Leches is just what it sounds like. Note: the Tres Leches is sharing size, so bring a friend! All in all, a wonderful evening. Fantastic cocktails, food, and service. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Stopped in the other night for dinner. Sat at the bar and was great to see how they prepped all the drinks. Cute atmosphere and loved open kitchen. it was pretty quiet when we came in but food took awhile. Didn't take a pic of the drinks but they were def one of the highlights. Shoutout Wilson the bartender. Cornbread has the actual corn with the best sweet butter 4/5. I had the gallo pinto and added chicken. Huge portion size I wish I had the carnitas Vs chicken as I found it meh and didn't elevate my meal like I wanted. The plantain was top notch I wish I order a side to take home. Fried to perfection. My friend had the casada which they also enjoyed Have had several neighbors recommend for brunch so will have to check that out.

Yelp
Just getting around to my review from visit in October. Booked an indoor table reservation on Resy to ensure availability. The entry faces West Broadway. There is both on-street parking and an off-street municipal lot around the corner. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and offered seating in the main dining room, which was in front of us with a view of the kitchen, or the second room that was a former florist shop. You can still see the coolers. After a peak, we chose the back room. It is larger than the front room with plants located about. More space between tables and very conducive to conversations without hearing others. The waitperson was attentive and personable throughout the evening. The meal began with the Blanca Nieves cocktail which had Reposado tequila, Grand Marnier, coconut milk, etc. It just wasn't for me, but can't find fault with it. Had to try it. Next was the ceviche caribeño. Tasty. Entree was the Arroz con Camarones (coconut rice, shrimp, sweet plantains, pineapple-mango salsa, etc.). Loved it. All the individual components came through. No hiccups. Great service and food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
My book club met here and what a delight! The service was friendly. The food Costa Rican, so I tried what my friend had recommended: a seafood soup. What a delight! Lovely flavor with just a tish of spice. Not a first date soup, lots of mussels to open up, chunks of purple potatoes to cut up, a huge plantain to navigate, but everything tasty. Not sure what my book club fellows had, but the plates were cleaned. I had a hibiscus tea, they had sangrias and drinks with large round ice cubes. Fun! Plenty of parking, plenty of bathrooms, reasonable prices. Try it!
