The 21 Best Restaurants In The North Fork 2024

"Maroni isn't your average Long Island Italian spot. Their a la carte menu includes a bunch of things you wouldn't expect, like Korean-style ribs and chicken and ginger dumplings, and it all just sort of works. Skip their tasting menu, which they offer most nights, and instead, share a few small plates of gagootz parmesan and a penne alla vodka with a sauce so smooth, you wouldn’t mind it as a savory milkshake. If you can, claim a spot in the front window that overlooks Main Street." - sal vaglica

This is a very small restaurant that I guess would be the sister restaurant to the Maroni in Northport. Do not bother coming here without a reservation unless you are getting take out (which in the summer, you can eat at one of the tables out back). The restaurant is spotless, including the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and took the time to explain everything on the menu. I tried the Korean Style BBQ Ribs with Gummi Bear Garnish as my appetizer. If you like ribs, these will not disappoint in any way! We also had the Gagootz Parmesan, which was amazing. For dinner, I had the Chicken Parmesan and the charred green beans. The dinners come with nothing, and if you want a side of pasta to go with it, your only choice is to order Penne Ala Vodka, which you would pay $27 dollars for since its a separate meal choice. The portions were very large and filling. We did have room for dessert so we went with the chocolate mousse and the chipwich. Both were great choices. It is worth noting that this is a hospitality included restaurant, meaning that the gratuity is included. You do not leave a tip. There is parking out back, but I imagine that it fills up rather quickly in the summer. Botom line-great restaurant and worth the trip.

Just making the reservation was pleasant and informative. Their website explains why the prices include the tip and why they do not take credit cards. They have an outside deck, a large picnic area, ample parking, and most of all, a beautiful interior decore. Everyone was friendly and accommodating to our requests. Both of our dishes were delicious, and I am sure their deserts are as well. On the oitside picnic tables, there are red pots, which I believe are for taking your meal home to warm or perhaps for eating outside in their spacious yard.

I wanted to share my recent dining experience at Maroni in Southold, NY. It's safe to say that this place left a lasting impression on me. From the get-go, the staff at Maroni were incredible. Their friendly and attentive service made me feel right at home. They knew their stuff and were more than willing to offer recommendations, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food – wow! The dishes I tried were nothing short of exceptional. Each plate was bursting with flavors that took my taste buds on a journey. From start to finish, I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and creativity of the dishes. One thing that caught my attention was the unique payment system – it's cash only and includes the tip. This streamlined approach eliminated any guesswork and made the whole experience hassle-free. The ambiance at Maroni is cozy and inviting, creating a relaxed atmosphere that complements the culinary journey. Here's something cool: Maroni also has a Northport location that I'm looking forward to checking out soon. If it's anything like my experience in Southold, I'm definitely excited to see what they have to offer. In a world of dining options, Maroni stands out for its excellent food, attentive service, and relaxed ambiance. If you're in the mood for a memorable culinary adventure, give Maroni a try – you won't be disappointed.

We did their tasting. I guess there are quite a few differences from their main restaurant. Million dollar chip had only a speck of caviar (saw pix from other location where you had a nice dollop of caviar). Kani salad needs less salt. We didn't have sushi or Peter lugars bacon. We didn't get grouper either. I think other things were missing. And their prices are a bit higher at $200 pp. Overall good but a little disappointed. Was very very thirsty the remainder of the evening from the salt

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The Northport location is great but Southhold might be the best restaurant on Long Island. Everything in the menu is amazing, and the vibes and ambiance of this location might be the happiest place in New York State. Definitely make a reservation in advance because it’s always booked up. Also cash only (no tip- all included) so stop by an ATM on the way. Everyone should try this restaurant once in their life. Let me put it this way- when you go to a restaurant that only has 3 entrees on the menu, you know each one is going to be absolutely next level.

Miss seeing Mike as we used to go to Northport location. But the Southold location is familiar for the food, but a upbeat airy vibe. Had a outstanding experience here.

Everything we have ever ordered here is fabulous!! Including the kani salad, meatballs, gagootz, and penne with chicken. You get a lot of delicious food for your money and always have leftovers. The service is always fast and pick up is seamless.
