Yelp
Maroo is seriously a hometown gem! My family has frequented this restaurant since they first opened in Tracy's few years ago. Here's a list of our go-to's:
Galbi: This marinated short rib comes steaming hot on a sizzling hot plate with sliced onions. The marinade is sweet and savory, and the beef is always so tender! Sometimes we order two of these just because it's that good.
B&S (Beef and Seafood) Combo Tofu Soup: This dish is packed with silken tofu, thin slices of beef, assorted seafood, diced cucumber, and sliced mushrooms. It comes sizzling hot with an egg that you can crack straight into your boiling pot. This always hits the spot on a cold night! And I feel lowkey healthy when I eat it lol.
Japchae: Silky glass noodles topped with slices of beef, fish cake, and assorted veggies. The noodles are savory and subtly sweet, dressed in some kind of mix of sesame oil, dark soy sauce, and sugar. This is a classic that Maroo consistently does right.
Vegetable pancake: All of the pancakes are good, but this is my personal favorite because I'm tricking myself into eating healthy lol. This comes out crispy on the outside and soft and packed with veggies on the inside.
Fried rice: Asian fried rices are always a hit, and Maroo's is no exception.
The banchan is also amazing! They can add crunch, heat, umami, or sweetness to every bite. Mix and match them with your main dishes, and wash it all down with a hot barley tea, to see what hits your palette best!
I'm so happy a restaurant like this exists in Tracy, and my family and I definitely don't take them for granted. We've always had great service and excellent food. Looking forward to our next dinner there!
