"Lentil soup, bamia stew, lemon chicken — they are all on this large Lebanese eatery’s menu, along with other traditional Middle Eastern dishes served by a bilingual staff. The atmosphere in the two-story building is relaxed and inviting and belly dancing shows are hosted every weekend. Leave room for a dessert of milk pudding, kanfeh, or mini roses. There is also an extensive list of Middle Eastern wines." - Juliana Accioly

Good food. Terrible service. One of maybe four tables, not busy at 1pm on a Friday. First she tried to sit us right next to another customer when the entire place was empty… when asked to sit one table over, she was annoyed. When ordering, we kept having to repeat our order, when asking for a refill we had to repeat ourselves multiple times. It wasn’t until later that we realized she had an airpod in one ear the entire time she was working 🤦‍♂️ very unprofessional. Other than that, the benefit of bad service is they left you alone while you ate your meal…? Always find a bright side. Food was good though, save space for the baklava.

Gorgeous and beautiful restaurant. The food is delicious too!! I had mint lemonade 😍 beef shawarma with salad and beef falafel. Turkish coffee and dessert. Noelia was my server, 5 stars. Prices are good for the portions, quality and location. Highly recommend it.

Google
I had previously gone To this restaurant a few years back and would’ve given five stars then. All of the food was good, but I felt it could’ve been better. I had the lamb kebab which wasn’t very hot and seemed a bit dry. I didn’t get that wow factor when I had the meal. Service was pretty good although pricing was a bit high for what we had. I should’ve taken some video of the live belly dancer who was really great and is the reason why I’m giving four stars instead of three.

We came to this hidden gem in Coral Gables early night (7:30pm) just before it got full. The food was good, they offer 2 types of pita bread as starters, the traditional version was good but we loved the fried one. Then we got some falafel (good) and grape leaves (so so, little mushy). We finalized with the shawarma which was really tasty and bigger than expected including the fried pita bread, traditional rice and salad. We were full so couldn't order more. The night had a nice highlight with live performance of typical dances that took the whole atmosphere to the next level. We'll certainly come back to try the kibeh, some kebabs and to watch the show again.

The last time we went to Maroosh was quite disappointed, the plates we used to order didn't taste the same at all! After doing a little research we found out that the previous chefs were no longer working there, that’s a pity 😕 Even the delicious Nutella baklava is now smaller and tasteless. The service is still good though. The first time I went to Maroosh I couldn't take enough pics. I came back with my family again and I did it!!! The food is delicious and has incredible service!!

Google
Great place! Greeted since we walked in. Both servers and owner show respect for clients, food and ambience. Appetizer was baked kibbeh and grape leaves, both delicious and carefully served. Dinner was a rack of lamb and lemon Chichen, both amazingly flavored, perfectly cooked and authentic. 2 glasses of good wine decently priced, and pita bread and pickled vegetables that complimented dinner very well Will definitely come back!

Google
Good food, close to Lebanese authentic, but not quite. For a place so far from home it is ok I guess and satisfied the cravings. But for the price being in CG I expect more quality. We only had grilled meats and chicken, so it being Halal was a deal breaker to dine there. I would give it 3.5 stars and 4 for it being far from home. But the ratings on Google don’t allow half stars.

Google
I have very mixed feelings, because this used to be one of my favorite places for Lebanese food, but later the experience wasn’t good. -Same nice decoration, but the host and service was mediocre and slow, although the place was almost empty. I even have to ask for regular water, because they abandoned us in the table for long time. -There is a ring bell from the restaurante phone sounding really loud the whole time, no one in the front desk answering!! I don’t understand how that is posible in a restaurant, with a beautiful ambience that it’s supposed transporting you to the Middle East. -Now about the food: They do not have lamb anymore, or at least the last two times that I went. The quality of the steak kebabs wasn’t good like before. Even though my boyfriend likes his stew and the lentil soup was really good. I said no olives in the salad and they came with olives. Rice was ok but I think is not the same quality than years ago. Salad dressing was great and the drinks (mint lemonade and yogurt) It’s pricey and the gratuity is included, so there is no justification for the service and mediocre food. I think this was my last try in Maroosh. I hope they can be back on track, they did great years ago. PD: Delivery service was critical too. Maybe they have some issue with Uber eats, because they canceled my order after one hour, alleging that they do not have delivery person 🤷‍♀️

Yelp
Very good food and great service. We came on a weird hour so the place was empty but the food was extremely good and the waitress was very nice. We had the hummus, tabbouleh, falafel, baked kibbeh, the rice and lentils (forgot the name) and the Abelmoschus (quimbombó) and everything was delicious. The place is nice and it's definitely good to visit if you are craving some Moroccan food.

Fayee T.

Yelp
Great Lebanese food in coral gables Miami, service is great and excellent and good ambiance with Arabic music in the background to accommodate the crowd and the type of food, the lunch menu was very generous, tried the chicken kabob sandwich that is served with various choices (tabbouli, rice , French fries....) Dessert menu includes Kanafe, baklava,Namoura...) Trendy and authentic place to stop by for lunch or dinner.... Recommended for sure!

Yelp
Maroosh Mediterranean is a Lebanese restaurant located at Coral Gables. It's a cozy dining rooms on 2 levels serving up a delicious Mediterranean food in a very pretty middle east decoration style. We were promptly and seated and offered water and the menu at the moment we arrived. We ordered hummus, tabbouleh salad, falafel, fried kibbeh and stuffed cabbage. The food was really delicious and so fresh!!!!! It was truly on of the best Lebanese food I ever had!! The hummus had an amazing and strong chickpeas flavor!! The grape leaves and the stuffed cabbage were so so good! We also ordered the Nutella baklava and OMG!!! Best baklava ever!! Delicious!!!! Honestly a five stars meal for sure and the service was really on point too! So why I'm not giving the restaurant the five stars? Because of the pita bread! I know I'm been extra picky but nothing compares to homemade fresh pita bread and sadly the complementary pita the restaurant gives you, including the fried pita, is store bought. Other than that, a truly delicious experience and definitely coming back to try out more!

Julia T.

Yelp
Nice place but not memorable in any way. The shish kebabs were not very seasoned, the mint tea was not fresh leaves but a bag. But they were very nice and the spreads and bread tasted authentic.

Ed W.

Yelp
Maroosh has an awesome vibe and an even better dinning experience. I had not been in this restaurant in like 3 years and I'm glad that eventhough it changed ownership the restaurant is still providing excellent food and great service. I made a reservation for dinner and everything was ready at the time it was promised. The wine list at Maroosh is simple but it has some great wines. If you haven't already tried them... I suggest you give Lebanese wines a try, of course they also offer wines from California and Europe. We ordered a bunch of little appetizers like hummus with meat, stuffed grape leaves, salads, falafel, etc, etc. Every single item was delicious. For dinner we also order a mix of kebabs like lamb, steak, chicken, shrimp and their original ground beef kebabs. All nicely seasoned and fresh. The restaurant offers a belly dancer show which is phenomenal and even incorporates dinning customers who feel a bit adventurous. Like I said before... the vibe and ambiance of Maroosh Is contagious in the best way possible. I certainly recommend coming here and to make a reservation if possible. It tends to get packed.

Walid S.

Yelp
Very clean and hospitable service. The food is so fresh and well seasoned. The combo appetizer was very filling for five guests. The mixed grill was also very flavorful, moist, and well done. The ambiance and decor was very welcoming.

Athena A.

Yelp
Food tastes really good for a middle eastern restaurant and the salad was amazing. The only thing that I didn't like is how they are out of most items. Also, the belly dancer was performing from 8:30- 9 pm which is lame for a middle eastern place. I came here for my birthday and the belly dancer left so early. What's the point?! I've never seen a belly dancer than comes and leaves so quick. Any middle eastern place I've been to they have it till like 2 am at least and it's a nice vibe and environment. I won't be coming here again I don't think.

Ana R.

Yelp
Service was extremely poor, slow, the waitress had very little knowledge of the menu, her physical appearance was unkept. I had to get up to get olive oil, and silverware from another table and there were only two tables with customers in the restaurant. The elevator was not working so a disabled person in the party had no access to the bathroom. The food was mediocre at best. The baklava was old. Definitely not recommend this restaurant

Jeni D.

Yelp
If I could give negative stars I would. First, no one speaks English. We ordered sparkling water, got spring water. Tried to charge us for it. Brought out the red wine on ice and already opened. The chair was broken and my elderly mother got her finger stuck and injured. When we asked for some ice she brought out a bandaid. We were going to pay for the 2 bottles of wine and the small bottle of sparkling water. Total should have been $82. Left them $100. She said that wasn't enough. She was charging us for the 3 bottles of spring water they brought out when we asked for sparkling and told them this isn't what we ordered. She took that off. After that she wanted $106. She said they get an 18% tip on the table. My response was for getting everything wrong and broken furniture resulting in an injury, you don't get a tip. We asked for a manager to resolve it, there wasn't one there. I finally said you can have this that covers what we have or we can leave the bottles of wine and we can pay nothing. So run far away. A total shame because it used to be such a wonderful restaurant.

Maria B.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration dinner. Birthday boy wanted Mediterranean or Lebanese and he got best of both worlds with this one. We decided to start with a Lebanese wine which was very pleasant - it wasn't too dry or acidic, it was just right. We got the appetizer combo which includes 5 different full portion appetizers. We ordered the hummus which was spectacular, the Labneh, Falafel were a bit too over cooked, the kibbeh was sensational, and the sausages were out of this world. We also ordered on the side the Mediterranean rice which was delicious, the fried cheese was incredible and the meat pies. The appetizers alone were a full meal, we did not make it to the entrees but we had to get dessert. We ordered the Turkish coffee with the assortment of desserts. While the food was amazing, and we will come back to try more of the menu, when we got the bill we were overcharged for the wine. Not sure if it was done purposely or an honest mistake but either way they should be more careful as when I questioned it, they took the bill back and came with the correct amount. Either way we had a wonderful dinner and will definitely come back, they have a belly dancer on Friday's and Saturday's so maybe we will come back for the show.

Yelp
I frequent this place a lot with my family and my boyfriend. The service is unmatched. The owners (or I think they're the owners, lol) are so attentive and sweet. The food is great! They have an interesting and grand selection of dishes. May be hard to find the spot at first since it's in a dead(ish) corner near a big post office, but don't let that hold you back from trying this place out!

Marilu F.

Yelp
This was worth every single penny. I don't remember the last time I had such a great time. The food, the company, the show - everything was dare I say it? Perfect! I went to a French Meetup. We were a group of maybe 18 or 20 people. We were so many that we even had a private room upstairs. When I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by John. I believe he is the manager. He is very friendly and nice, just like the waitress that singlehandedly attended us. Her name is Paula. We were given the choice to either order separately or to order as a group and then split everything evenly. We went with the latter option which included plates upon plates of food, as well as wine. The appetizers alone were insane. From pita bread to falafel to even hummus (an enjoyable one, too, as I typically detest hummus). The mains included chicken, shrimp, beef. I think we even had dessert, but with so much food, I don't know how I wasn't rolled out of there. The wine was exquisite. The food divine. The belly dancer who gave us a show, a real doll, and I even managed to get up and dance with her. Horribly, I might add, but this has given me a new layer to my personality. I might actually want to give some belly dancing classes a shot. Sheer perfection. I will definitely go back! Especially for a large party. This is one of the rare occasions I can say a restaurant actually met and exceeded my expectations. Shame I didn't take advantage of this place when I worked in Coral Gables. Oh well - better late than never.

Horacio G.

Yelp
Great lunches for decent prices and sometimes is better to just order a bunch of appetizers as they are so good. Dinner has a more Arabic flavor in the ambiance and some nights they have belly dancing which is more fun than you expect...

Art F.

Yelp
No English speaking servers among 4 people; forgot to put in our order; a 3 hour ordeal . When bill came they said could not split bill with 2 credit cards. Firyinstrky 1 if our 3 spoke some Spanish.

Jose M.

Yelp
Haven't been in here since the original owner sold. Things have changed and not for better. Prices have gone up, like everywhere else. I don't mind if quality stays the same, but food was definitely not what I remember. Also, during dinning last night, the table was full of gnats. That's not a good sign. Dirty kitchen? More than disappointment, I felt sad for the place. Sammir took pride in the place and built it from a humble location in Kendall. I would suggest the owner reflect on the this and try to fix it. The 18% tip applied automatically is not a good move. Btw.

Spencer A.

Yelp
It's been years since I was here and it's better than I remember. Much better. Lots of vegan options- deliciously prepared- magically, almost instantly arrived at our table. Hummus, grape leaves, rice, spinach pies, tabula and more. They serve their food with a very heavy dose of olive oil- which is probably my only complaint. Sara Rose said everything was excellent and I agree. I was especially impressed my the excellent service of Federico. The best service I've experienced in some time. Great spot. Plenty of street parking.

Ralph C.

Yelp
Came here for a Christmas dinner with my girlfriend last night. I wanted to introduce her to Lebanese Mediterranean cuisine and we loved the food we ordered! We started with the Baba Ganoush dip w/a basket of fresh crispy AND soft pita bread slices! So delicious! It was followed with a lamb kebab and the gyro with fries. I also asked for the Lebanese beer too! Absolutely delicious lamb! Usually we never order a dessert when we go out but who can turn down a baklava! Two slices drizzled in honey! Thank you Maroosh we will be returning to your restaurant again!!

B G.

Yelp
My wife and I along with many friends had been coming to this restaurant for years and the food was always consistently great. After we found out that Samir had sold the restaurant we hadn't come back till several months ago. Midway through our meal I asked the waiter if the chef had changed because the food just didn't taste the same and they tried to convince me that it was the same chef but for some reason I just wasn't convinced. Just in case it was my palate we decided again to come for a meal but this time we came with a few friends who had also been regulars in years past. Unsurprisingly they also felt that the food was just not the same. Not that it wasn't acceptable, just that it wasn't great so I do feel that the chef is either not the same OR that maybe Samir just added a certain touch to the place which influenced the food.

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Today I had dinner at Maroosh. It was a bad experience- the food was mediocre at best. Everything tasted like it had been made several days ago and reheated when we ordered it. For whatever reason our table was also invaded by annoying gnats- it was horrible. Also, the cup of wine I ordered was only 2/3 full and .... an 18% gratuity was already included when we got our bill (but you're not told that gratuity is included, in an effort to trick you into tipping on top of the tip that is already included- that's really dishones!). This place used to be amazing when Sammir (the original owner) was running it (we used to eat here all the time), but sadly its gone down the drain after Sammir sold it! I will never eat here again!

Yilian S.

Yelp
The first time I went to Maroosh with my family and it was a matter of eating or taking pictures . The food is delicious and the service is great!! coming back for sure!

Samantha S.

Yelp
This place is so authentic. As a African American miami women, this is by far the BEST Mediterranean restaurant. Family oriented and the service skills are great. You'll feel like family.

Roy S.

Yelp
Back up to a solid 4 stars as service issues have been resolved. Never had an issue with the food.

Laura D.

Yelp
My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time today to enjoy an early dinner. The whole experience was wonderful, from the service, to the atmosphere, and of course the food! Our waitress Jorgelina was incredibly warm and welcoming, and delivered the many dishes we ordered perfectly. The food was delicious, and incorporated some fantastic spices that really made things like the fried pita really stand out. Overall, a truly excellent restaurant!!

Carolina a.

Yelp
By I know many Middle East around the world but honestly I didn't know of this gem in the neighborhood! I can say with all responsibility it is the best Middle East cuisine in Miami . The Tabbouleh amazingly fresh and tasty . The raw kippe is one of the best I have ever ate in my life .. the falafels was perfectly cooked . Each creamy to spread in a toasty or warm soft bread were perfectly Cooked and play to make an amazing flavors's festival . Inside the restaurant is beautiful and Don Julio ( one of the waiters) is very welcoming and knows A-Z what is the best food recommendation dependable of your personality and tastes I loved to be here .they won a loyal client

Samuel M.

Yelp
Superb Middle Eastern cuisine in an authentic atmosphere Never a disappointment and consistently excellent The wait staff and management are always warm and attentive As close as you can get to a true Middle Eastern dining experience without a passport and a plane

Pablo E.

Yelp
The service was great and the location was excellent with walking distance to miracle mile. We heard about this place a few times but were disappointed once we ate. Let's be clear (it wasn't bad) but it also wasn't all that great. The hummus was ok (nothing special, just regular hummus), the fried cheese was not good (more buen than cheese), and we shared the mixed kebab which was simply ok. It seemed as if everything was really salty but needed a bit more flavor and less salt. It's nice to try out Mediterranean food but overpriced for what it really is.

Meli R.

Yelp
Maroosh is an iconic Mediterranean restaurant in Coral Gables. For starters we had their staple hummus and fried cheese. We ordered a combo platter which included kafta, chicken and steak kebabs with two sides. It was delicious! I ordered a salad and the vinaigrette tasted old, and well more like vegetable oil than vinegar. I couldn't eat it. I asked for extra vinegar but I just received more of that terrible vinaigrette.... that was the only down side to my experience here. They have a belly dancer come in at 8:00 pm on Saturdays. So if you're into that, plan around it!!!

Rosa A.

Yelp
service is terrible, slow only one wsitress working in a Saturday night. the food extremely expensive for the small dishes, and which came delayed. I will never visit again.

Ori C.

Yelp
The food was tasteless. I don't want to harm this business with this bad review but is not fair for people to waste their money.

Lulu M.

Yelp
Loved the food and service Great prices and lovely servant Taste like home cooked food

Kara H.

Yelp
Overpriced and small portions. Poor value for what I paid with little flavor, will not return

Katrina M.

Yelp
I thought this place was really nice. I popped in for lunch with my friends and we had the spinach pies, hummus, falafel, and chicken wings. My favorite was the chicken wings. They came with a really delicious garlic paste that we used on all of the other food we got. The upstairs area also has a little balcony where you can smoke hookah it seems. I thought the place was pretty but you couldn't tell how big it was from the outside. The menu was kind of expensive and not what we were expecting for lunch prices so we ended up getting appetizers. They have a lot of options to share food so this is the kind of place you want to come to with a group of people. Overall it was good and I would come again!

Monica K.

Yelp
I haven't been to this Coral Gables Mediterranean eatery in over 6 to 7 years and I promise not to let that much time to go by again. A little birdie told me there was a new Cuban ownership, which made me a little concerned with the quality of the Mediterranean food...EVERYTHING WE ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS. From the hummus to the Hunter Chicken to my customized chicken and shrimp kebobs, everything was delicious! Did I mention our fantastic waiter, Federico??? He surprised and delighted us with a garlic sauce that was heavenly with the shrimp kebobs. He went above and beyond to make sure we would be returning customers. Needless to say, THAT'S A GIVEN! This little Coral Gables eatery will have you coming back for more. A++

Yelp
I visited this once grand venerable Mediterranean restaurant for lunch and lament its passing. This restaurant was sold since my last review and the change was noticeable immediately. The old owner, Samir, was a perfectionist, suave and schooled the Levantine world charms of hospitality. We walked in and were sat down; without menus. After nearly ten minutes of waiting for a menu we accosted a young man and requested a menu. He literally brought one and I had to share it with my wife. We ordered the deluxe appetizer sampler (humus, pita bread, grape leaves, greek salad and falafel ) and we did so twice as the young man didn't appear to hear us. After an absurd amount of time we were brought the deluxe without grape leaves. We requested the grape leaves and the waiter actually argued that it did not come with grape leaves, until we showed him the menu. We ordered the chicken kabob for our entree. The portions were pithy. The portions here were generous, instead they were paltry; a clue to the loss of the former owner. The rice seemed to be rice pilaf without the vermicelli and with a salt content that must have required all of the salt in Lebanon; a traditional producer of salt. I had a side of vegetables--and here was the scintilla of proof that a change had occurred. When I ordered the vegetables I had a trepidation as the vegetables here used to be pickled cauliflower, carrots. Aha I exclaimed they were gone. Proof positive of a change. The pita bread was fried and so gross. My ice tea and water were filled once and I had to beg for a refill. In summation, stay away. This restaurant seems to be a shell of its once venerable self. You want to just lament its passing. It's like the destroyed hulks lining Beirut. You can see from the facade that once there was a world inside that building, but it has long gone and all that remain are the ghosts. Service: bordering on rude. Syrian intelligence officers have more finesse. They must have been trained by Bashar Hafez Assad School of Hospitality. Parking: Valet seems gone, so off street.

Sydney S.

Yelp
I ordered for delivery today and I did not receive the lamb kabob, it was another lamb dish and it was not very good. The hummus was okay, the lamb was dry and plain, the grape leaves were good, although they did fall apart. Also, the driver never came to the door. Left the food on the driveway and didn't even contact me to let me know where the food was placed. Not happy about the delivery at all. I personally won't order here again.

Cynthia Lissette C.

Yelp
Little hidden mediterranean restaurant. I'm so happy my friend introduced me to it. I only appetizers because I didn't think I was hungry but I ended up eating three different appetizers and they were awesome. Prices are good but I'd have to come back to try their dinner plates.

Dan B.

Yelp
First time here and It won't be the last, that's for sure! A friend of us told us about this restaurant so we decided to go and check it out, oh boy! For our surprise place was amazingly good! From outside the place looks very small but when you get in that's another different story, the restaurant has two floors and it's decorated with beautiful Middle East painting and antiques, pretty cool! Waitress told us the restaurant has been there for years. They even have a balcony upstairs. They served complementary pita bread, black olives and spicy veggies when you seat down. I ordered the hummus AND THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST HUMMUS I have ever tried!!! Then falafel with tahini sauce, the tahini sauce was amazing! A really good lentils soup and I couldn't have the pistacho dessert they were offering, got to full to quickly lol. Server was very attentive and friendly, I think her name was Paula. The only thing I did not like was a few serves and bussers having a discussion next to the kitchen door. Definitely recommend and definitely coming back soon with friends and family.

Navene S.

Yelp
I came here for dinner on Saturday night. The place was full and luckily we were early enough to get a table- recommend you call and reserve in advance. Before our entrees arrived, we were served hummus with cripsy pita chips and warm pita slices. That was yumny! The pita chips were hot fresh and delicious! Next we were served a small salad with a light mediterranean dressing that was also good. My date ordered the gyro and I got the green beans. He really liked his and ate all up! The green beans were great too although the dish did not wow me. I think the highlight of our meal was the wine. We ordered the Lebanese rosè and it was phenomenal. Very light, crisp, and sweet! Highly recommend you try it. The meals were of good protion size and descent prices. The service was good- no complaints there, fast, friendly, and attentive. I would be opposed to returning for another meal while watching their belly dance show.

Wesley G.

Yelp
I had a great experience here. I came on a Saturday night with my wife because we were craving good Mediterranean food. Plus there was a Groupon. :). The food was delicious and the great part is that they will randomly have a dancer put on a show. I had a such a great time. I must come back here.

Frederick D.

Yelp
Maroosh continues to be one of the only outlets for your middle eastern palette in downtown CG and it actually was fairly reasonable until today when we saw the bill had an 18% gratuity tacked on our party of two. That was unexpected. The service was Ok but nothing special. We didn't order drinks. The chicken was fresh and we had a few veggies instead of rice. It was not a full plate. You get some hummus with pita chips / bread to dine on while you await your order and my colleague also asked for a side of garlic butter sauce. I suppose it wasn't outlandish and I'm sure we would have paid about the same either way but for parties of two usually you do not expect to have the gratuity added to the bill. We didn't complain, but I'm probably going to steer clear of Maroosh for a while.

David D.

Yelp
We decided to change it up today and go back to Maroosh for Mediterranean food today. Me and my family were NOT impressed. Service and food were not the best. Prices have gone up too. Ordered the mix grill and you literally get 4 pieces of shrimp, steak and chicken along with a piece of kafta for a whopping $45.00. It does include a cup rice and a half cup of vegetables. I had to complaint about me and my wife's cups of red wine. Red wine were brought chilled. Waiter said they refrigerate all of their wines!? The food flavor was okay. Just the quantity and price were not what it should be. We are foodies and love to dine out, but, tonight was simply not worth it. To top it off, we were a table of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids), service charge of 18 percent is included. We love giving a good tip when the person provided a great service. Again, we were not impressed. Please, please! Try Shaddai instead. Way better food, service and value. Shaddai is amazing. I reviewed them in an earlier review. This is the reason I began reviewing in the first place. To share the good and the bad. Trust us, Shaddai is way better!

Peter G.

Yelp
Great location. The place is very pretty and does feels you are in another country. The service and food were good. It's a bit overpriced. The dessert was delicious.

Uma A.

Yelp
This restaurant has amazing food and great service. They have pretty good hummus. I had their stuffed cabbage rolls and they were bland and forgettable. My go tos were always the shish barak soup and the mjaddarah. The shish barak is a yogurt soup with meat dumplings. I've never seen this on the menu of any middle eastern restaurant I've gone to. It is served warm and is flavorful! Make sure to call ahead as they don't always make this every day. The mjaddarah is a rice and lentil dish served with a cute cream pitcher filled with yogurt, which you can pour over per your liking. I loved the slightly crispy seasoned onions served on top. When you mix this in, it adds another level of flavor. These dishes were simple yet tasted wonderful. They are great for when you are missing a home cooked meal in Miami.

Sergio René V.

Yelp
Food was a mix of OMG in some plates and "its ok" in others. The server could be a bit more knowledgeable of the menu. It took a while (and a couple paintings at the menu) for her to find the item on her computer. Lol. And outdoor seating could be better placed. Inside it looks great, outside its just extra tables. :-( But overall a good meal.

Jaime O.

Yelp
They didn't have good amount of servers, the poor 3 people of the staff were taking care of the restaurant and it was packed! The food was meh!

Yelp
Found this place on my favorite site (yelp) , this great place has been in business for a little over 20 years. Wife and i had almost everything on the menu. The vibe is classic Mediterranean with nice soft music on the back ground. The food was awesome. Thanks yelp for the info.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent. The food and service is amazing! Tonight was my first visit but I will definitely be back soon, and often. I had the Baked Mousaka With Hand Diced Lamb and my wife had the Sauteed Kafta. I honestly don't know which one was better. The Dolmades were the best I've had in a decade. It is a must try in my opinion. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Yelp
1st time , didn't know what to expect. Hoping to return in the future. Food was quite good, I have to say it was a positive experience. We came for my sons 18th birthday . We look foward to coming back soon . Service was amazing , came here blind not knowing what to expect and we left very happy. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone and maintain the friendship.

Yelp
I ordered lunch from them recently & decided to try something new. I usually go for their Falafel Sandwich (Deep fried balls of ground seasoned chick peas served in a rolled pita bread, with your choice of lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and tahini sauce) which is pretty good but went with the Vegetable Curry (Peas, carrots, and potatoes mixed with Indian curry and spices. Served with basmati rice, house salad & fresh vegetables) instead. I also ordered a side of Mjaddarah (Rice and lentil pilaf). The food arrived and while it looked decent although the color of the curry & the extreme oiliness of it was a bit off-putting. The salad was fresh but the dressing had no flavor. I believe it was just olive oil. The Vegetable Curry, while not terrible was not great & again, super oily. The Mjaddarah was dry & the lentils were a bit tough, not to mention lacking in flavor. It was topped with fried onions which I would normally be ecstatic about but again, no flavour. I am a HUGEfan of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food & eat regularly at Fatair Al Basha on SW 8th street near my job. That place puts Maroosh to shame & for a quarter of the price! Will continue to get my falafel fix here unless I find a better place near my home but am definitely disappointed with this last experience.

Yelp
Maroosh is my alternative to other spicy meals one could have for a lunch. When you dine here you feel in a distant land as you are surrounded foreign art and large ornate looking light fixtures with blue bulbs. I kind of like it. There is upstairs and downstairs dining although I have only ever been seated downstairs. The service is prompt and you can have your meal within 10 minutes of the order. Typically I'll come here for a kebab in either lamb or chicken, and yes you can substitute the rice and onions for extra vegetables! Before your main dishes arrive you'll be served a round of pita bread with chili sauce and a garlic butter sauce! (be careful whom you speak with after lunch hour). There is also a dish of pickled carrots, cauliflower and olives to cleans the pallet. Maroosh is trying out a new Sangria (red or white) imported from Spain, displaying the colorful bottles at the check out area, and I picked up a bottle as a birthday gift for $10 less than if I had consumed it at the table. I think that is evidence of a fair deal. If you are in need of a Middle East fix that will take you away during your lunch hour. Come to Maroosh!
