Marquee - Review - Downtown - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Tucked underneath the Woolworth Theater in Downtown, Marquee is the definition of dinner and a show—and not just because it’s located at the Woolworth. The moody venue has a stage and a small dance floor for live music and dance acts that accompany the eclectic menu of sriracha deviled eggs, Asian pork belly bites, carved prime rib, and limoncello pie." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

We simply cannot say enough wonderful things about this establishment. We attended the Shiners show before heading down for our 7:00 p.m. reservation. The lounge singer was absolutely wonderful. The following main event was top of the line. The ladies singing, the saxophone, trumpet, piano, drummer and bass players were beyond talented . The food was some of the best we had in the 5 days we were in Nashville. The halibut, pork belly, shrimp cocktail, and deviled eggs were to die for. The spinach artichoke dip is a hard pass. The top shelf smoked old fashioned is by far the way to go for the pairing. It's a small intimate club. Nothing like Broadway. The best of all of the worlds in Nashville. Music food atmosphere high-end VIP experience. If you have the opportunity, stay all night. Definitely more of a fine dining attire. Button-down shirts for men and dresses or gowns for women. We were in high-end Western Wear and felt underdressed.

Marquee Nashville is a glamorous, intimate lounge tucked below the historic Woolworth Theatre, blending Golden-Era chic with a modern, cinematic vibe! The musical experience is the real star here. Marqee brings cabaret performance alive then adds the voices of Meghan and Mia are beyond imagination and grab your soul!

This place was absolutely amazing! Very upscale! I went for my birthday and they recognized all the birthdays and anniversaries (with a birthday and love song). The house band was very professional and made the entire evening very personal. The entertainment was top notch! Dancers were amazing!!! It was an all around good time!!! I wore a sequin dress which fit right in! You can really dress up in this establishment! The food was exquisite as was the service.

We visited the newly opened marquee on a Thursday to celebrate our anniversary. The show was cute however, all in all it was just probably 15 minutes of our two hour stay. Our waitress informed us that They are currently only performing their bigger shows on the weekends. The food was excellent… Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I ended up an hour after I left in the bathroom with food poisoning symptoms. I don’t know if it was the food or the margarita I drank… everything tasted delicious…Unfortunately, our anniversary ended abrupt and unexpected. :(

Very cozy lounge, comfy furniture, friendly staff, and not overly loud music. You can actually have a conversation in here. Drinks were average downtown Nashville prices and they offered some light eats as well. I had an LIT which was ok. My date had an Old Fashioned and it was very smooth and tasty. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful time. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The hummus top tier. Wish they had vegan option. The entertainment was 10/10. The atmosphere was chic classy and mature. Everyone was dressed so nice and their was a steady presence of customers attending. I'll be back. It's a place a lot different from the honky tonk scene of downtown nashville.

Located inside Woolworth theater down a flight of stairs. We planned our entire trip around Twisted Wool's hours. They're only open a few days, and their online listed happy hour is even smaller. Bouncer at the door asked if we were here for the thester show or here to go to the bar. We told him the bar, and he told us we showed up at a good time. It was happy hour! He wished us well, and we went into the basement. When we got there, we tried to clarify what was on happy hour, but the server was rude with a "we don't have happy hour" then staring at us expectantly. We showed him their own website, and he said it was out of date. We asked if the menu was out of date on the website then, and he said yes. We came for their S'mores Bites which were featured on their online menu, social media, and pictures on the website. He said they don't make them anymore. We left. I know that menus can be out of date from their online counterparts, but something is clearly up here. The bouncer didn't know an entire part of their marketing wasn't real anymore. Food that wasn't served here is still being advertised here. And the way the server handled it was poor. We were the sole customers in the entire bar, so I can't imagine he was too busy to take the time to explain. Pretty place though.

Google
SO much fun! Performers were amazing - this is a gem many don’t seem to know about yet. The apps were fantastic, the food was fine (we should have sent the prime rib back bc we requested MR and it was easily MW - but that’s on us for not doing it), cocktails were on point. Really good crowd - so happy and friendly! We loved it and will be back (just will either get food cooked the way we wanted - which I really think they would have corrected if we had asked - or go for dinner somewhere else first then drinks & show here). Also this was not one of those super loud big band places. We could talk easily but also enjoy the music. I’ll also mention that some of the performers from the Shriners show performed here. The Shriners show was an amazing feat of strength & skill but very much a different vibe (the Shriners show was more for tourists maybe?). Both great but if you go to both, just know it’s a totally different experience.

Yelp
So I know Nashville is supposed to be about country bars but when you need something different heard to Marquee - this hidden lounge under the Woolworth's is so unique and a blast! They had a full band playing with the BEST singers who not only dance and sing but interact with the audience. The food and drinks were also delicious. If I had been in Nashville longer I woud've gone back - loved it so much here!

Yelp
Service started out great but ended horribly. Our water cup was served when we arrived & that was all the water we received. We asked twice for water refills and never had our refill. By the time our waitress came to check up on us, we just asked for the check. We could have gone for another cocktail and water of course but we didn't want to wait another 20 min. I would say that maybe she was busier than normal but we did notice other tables getting more attention compared to us. We had appetizers and they were delicious. Ambiance is very nice. The live band was great which is why I gave the Marquee 4 stars instead of 3.

Yelp
We went for happy hour but also ordered from the man menu. Ended up staying for a couple hours listening to the piano player and later a singer joined him. Food was good and I love the " classy old soul" vibe but with younger patrons. Place was almost full when we headed out- A lot people eating dinner and enjoying the entertainment - it's worth a visit for sure.

Yelp
If you want an incredible experience to go along with great food and drinks in a super swanky speakeasy. Look no further than the Marquee.

Yelp
Love love loved this place! It was a much needed relaxer from the hustle and bustle of Nashville. They did a lot of country, rock, and r&b covers with a live band. The food was great. But the SERVICE was absolutely top tier. I went for a solo birthday dinner and it didn't even feel like it. Greg is the best and made sure my birthday was special. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
We had the pleasure of checking out the Marquee on 10/3, and it did not disappoint! After checking out a show at Shiners, we went downstairs to the Marquee, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, listening to Jazz, having drinks, and dancing. We'll be back!!

Yelp

Yelp
Wow. We just had the most amazing experience at Marquee. We had drinks and bites there before seeing the Shiners show upstairs and then came back down after the show. I am so impressed with the venue...especially after finding out it was their third night open. It is the classiest of jazz clubs with and amazing band, an incredible singer (wow, Megan!!!), and very unexpected (and fabulous) specialty acts. SO impressed!!!

Yelp
We had an amazing time for happy hour on Friday at the Twisted Wool Lounge. The cocktails were flowing and were delicious. All of the small plates were very tasty. Our server was fantastic! Excellent service. Highly recommend for an out of the way little place just off Broadway!
