Located inside Woolworth theater down a flight of stairs.
We planned our entire trip around Twisted Wool's hours. They're only open a few days, and their online listed happy hour is even smaller. Bouncer at the door asked if we were here for the thester show or here to go to the bar. We told him the bar, and he told us we showed up at a good time. It was happy hour! He wished us well, and we went into the basement.
When we got there, we tried to clarify what was on happy hour, but the server was rude with a "we don't have happy hour" then staring at us expectantly. We showed him their own website, and he said it was out of date. We asked if the menu was out of date on the website then, and he said yes. We came for their S'mores Bites which were featured on their online menu, social media, and pictures on the website. He said they don't make them anymore. We left.
I know that menus can be out of date from their online counterparts, but something is clearly up here. The bouncer didn't know an entire part of their marketing wasn't real anymore. Food that wasn't served here is still being advertised here. And the way the server handled it was poor. We were the sole customers in the entire bar, so I can't imagine he was too busy to take the time to explain.
Pretty place though.
