Marra Forni

BEWARE! Our experience with Marra Forni has been horrible since the beginning of this year. Even getting accurate specs was a hassle and should have been a red flag. In April, we were told our oven and trailer would be ready in 4–6 weeks. We secured financing (which was a ton of money for us as a small, women-owned business), they were paid, and from there communication completely collapsed. Despite knowing we had major events depending on this unit, they stalled for months while publicly rolling out new mobile ovens for pro sports teams and country clubs. We were repeatedly told we’d be in the “next batch,” which never existed. Emails went unanswered, timelines were vague or false, and we were even blamed for delays that were entirely on their end. When we finally received the trailer in August, it was not what we paid a premium price for. To this day, they still have not resolved our concerns. Both owners have been copied on every email and have never stepped in. They market Marra Forni as the “Ferrari of ovens,” but what you actually get is poor quality, terrible customer service, and dismissive, rude treatment (especially toward women). Save yourself the stress and take your business and money ANYWHERE else.

We just received our second oven from Marra Forni. The quality of the oven and the quality of service are second to none. From the moment we inquired about availability to the moment we received the oven, their team kept an open line of communication with us, allowing us to know exactly where the oven was at all times during the construction and shipping processes. The after-sales support is beyond excellent. We had a few questions about curing and the overall operation of the oven, and they were available to answer any and all questions we had. I will definitely purchase more ovens from them, as the overall experience has been nothing but excellent for us.

Marra Forni is an amazing company. It was a pleasure working with them from start to finish. They gave me exactly what I was looking for, and the oven is even better than I imagined.

I put this oven through the ringer and here’s what I can say: I am a wood fired caterer and I wanted to wait until I had an entire season working with my Marra Forni 140cm oven before writing my review. Through the pandemic, with smaller parties to cater, my 110 cm pizza oven worked great for me. As the parties grew larger, I quickly grew out of the oven I had and needed more space. Cue Marra Forni. I have cooked off seven, 12” pizzas with plenty of room for the fire. Probably could get 8 in there, although I wouldn’t recommend it. If I don’t have a team with me, by the time I get my 6th pie in, I have to start turning or they start burning. I can fit five full pans at a time or four pans and cook-off a pizza. The heat retention is remarkable too. Once I get her dialed in 1.5-2hrs; 800-1000F, you only need a small piece of beech for some top flare. I am really happy with the floor. It is solid and smooth. The trailer itself is heavy duty. So much space underneath. I opted not to get the gas attachment. If you do, there will be some gas cables and a propane tank under there to contend with. My events are only wood fired so no need. As far as the road worthiness of the trailer goes, the four tires make a big difference. It handles bumps of the road way better then my last oven which had only two wheels. I also couldn’t be happier with the design. Is every tile perfectly lined up? No, but then again it is hand made so every imperfection is what reminds you that this oven was not mass produced in a factory. Love how they add a Marra etched brick in the roof and floor of the oven. Bottom line: I would highly recommend a Marra Forni trailered oven for the mobile pizza/wood fired cater on the go. -Roberto @pizzayolony

Just had the privilege of using one of the Marra Forni pizza ovens while attending their pizza college and I can’t say anything but WOW! These ovens are great! Hand built with the highest quality materials. I had so much fun playing with them. The passion and knowledge that the whole company had was such a great sight! I would highly recommend buying one of their ovens, you would be buying the best!

Marra Forni is a very professional and experienced company. I opened my first restaurant almost 2 years ago and ordered my first Neapolitan style pizza oven. It was perfect, everything from the design to the delivery. I am opening my second restaurant this June and ordered the oven from Marra Forni again, and received even better service. I worked with Anthony and he was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. I will always recommend Marra Forni to anyone looking for a professional oven. Thank you Marra Forni!

Updated review 2024... Marra has continued its commitment to industry leading customer service standards. I had an issue with an oven and Enzo sprinted to action to help me fix the issue. A situation where with a lesser company I might have lost a few days open, I ended up not missing anything due to Marra's quick movement. Francesco has been a rock for me as a mentor over the years. He's been so kind with his time and has answered questions over the years when I've had a business issue. I'm a huge fan of this company. Great product and even better people! 2017 Review... Truly a company worthy of a five star rating. I had the pleasure of meeting the Marra Forni team at the Pizza Expo in 2015. At the time I wasn't even looking for a new oven. They were so welcoming and easy going that I decided to stick around their booth for a bit and check out their ovens. The thing that stuck out in our first meeting is they treated me like a family member even though I wasn't even in the market to buy an oven within the next year. A few months later I hooked up with these guys at the NRA show in Chicago and cooked a bunch of my pizzas in their ovens. I was blown away by the consistency and ease of use. I love that they have the product engineer Stavri come to events so you can pick his brains. Super smart guy! In January of this year my wife and I decided to take a trip to their warehouse and test kitchen in Maryland. It was very assuring seeing the ovens being made in America. I ended up buying a 140 oven and having them put it on a trailer for me. After cooking a couple thousand pizzas in my oven I can say that this is for sure the best oven I have ever used. It is so easy to train a new staff member on. Very user friendly. Most importantly my pizzas come out better in this oven than any other oven we own. In the two weeks after I received the oven Francesco personally reached out to me to make sure I was satisfied. Talk about people who care!!! Going forward I will only be buying Marra Forni ovens.
