Modern Comfort and Courteous Service at Marriott Bethesda Downtown (Marriott HQ) I recently stayed at Marriott Bethesda Downtown, the flagship property connected to Marriott HQ, and the experience was consistently excellent from check-in to check-out. It’s the perfect blend of contemporary style, thoughtful amenities, and professional hospitality that makes business trips and city getaways truly comfortable. What makes it stand out Polished, contemporary design: The lobby and rooms balance sleek, modern touches with warm, welcoming details. It feels upscale without feeling pretentious. Comfortable accommodations: Spacious rooms with plush bedding, ample workspaces, and smart, user-friendly tech make it easy to relax or stay productive. Attentive, professional staff: From front desk to housekeeping, the team is courteous, efficient, and ready to help with recommendations, transportation, or special requests. On-site convenience: A well-equipped fitness center, reliable Wi-Fi, and convenient dining options make it simple to unwind after a day of meetings or sightseeing. Location and accessibility: Centrally located in Bethesda with easy access to transportation and local eateries, it’s a smart hub for exploring the area or commuting to the DC corridor. Dining and amenities Quality dining options: The on-site restaurant and lounge offer a solid menu of reliable favorites and thoughtful seasonal dishes, perfect for business lunches or a

By far the best staff I have ever experienced. I travel weekly and this team compares to the Ritz Carlton staff which is also excellent. Friendly, accommodating, just downright incredible people and had the privilege of meeting the GM and it’s no wonder— great leadership! Well done Marriot team! You will be my destination moving forward for DC visits! Thank you so much!

Beautiful hotel. Upgraded to a 12th floor corner room which was lovely. The front desk staff was truly wonderful - welcoming, upbeat, friendly and efficient. Great first impression. Even the car valets always welcomed us back. But there was a big problem - the television did not work. Mentioned it to the desk when we left for the day the next morning. Came back to find a lovely cheese platter with a handwritten apology for our inconvenience. Problem is the television was never fixed which is very annoying. Just got back to room late at night and it still doesn't work. Certainly don't want anyone coming up to room this late. This was an award stay and I will ask for a partial refund when we check out tomorrow. Really is a shame. It is a happening place in a great location for us. Come to area a few times a year to visit family. Not sure we can stay here again, which is sad.

What an amazing experience at the Bethesda Marriott. The rooms are new, clean, and comfortable. The staff, especially Thao, was so kind and patient with my kids. We’ll definitely be staying here for all of our future visits to the area.

I would like to give a special thanks to the front desk ladies ! They were very sweet and hospitable, I was not even a guest , but I asked for a safety pin and they were all ready to assist me with my wardrobe malfunction. Christal took the extra mile and helped me stitching it. I really appreciate that assistance from Marriott employees and their customers service .

Had an amazing experience at Seventh State for my mom’s birthday! Our server Griffin went above and beyond — attentive, professional, and made the night feel special. The cocktails were outstanding, and every dish from appetizers to entrées was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend for both the food and the service.

As always, the staff here goes above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Thao worked with us checking in to make sure we had the right room. And every evening greeted us by name and with a smile. This is the only hotel we will ever use when we visit the DC area.

Great location near Bethesda Row & Metro Station. M Club Lounge offers lovely selection of rotating food options. Service is as good as to be expected right next to the corporate headquarters. Highly recommend for those looking to be right outside DC.

Yelp
I stayed here while attending a conference in nearby Washington DC. It was fairly close to the law school the conference was at. It is generally well located. The staff is uniformly pleasant and professional. I have nothing but positive feelings about all of them. The room cleaning was done every day and it felt like they did a good job. Both the hotel and the rooms are a bit on the older side, which is fine. The rooms are fine. The beds are comfortable. The bathrooms have a walk-in shower that worked for me, with shampoo/conditioner/body soap dispensers on the wall. My only real issue has to do with something they need to modernize. Some of the electric outlets on the dresser area were not hooked up. The room is bereft of USB ports for charging. I have several devices that need a USB port for recharging. The room has one. So I could charge my iPhone, my Apple watch, my Apple earbuds, or my iPad. I could not charge more than one of them. That is a little annoying, but it is a small problem for just me. That is a rather simple upgrade that they should make. If I had been with my wife on this trip, the lack of USB ports would have been a huge problem. This place has a "bar" that is open limited hours adjacent to the lobby. There is a breakfast thing in the morning. The bar should be open earlier and stay open later. One of the evenings my groups was there, the World Series was on. We had to go to a place a couple of blocks away because it was not on in the hotel bar, and the hotel bar would have closed before the game ended. We would have rather stayed at the hotel. But we could not. The fact that there is no room service is a bit annoying. I know that is part of this kind of place. But it is an inconvenience. I'd say this place is more of a 3.5. But I'm rounding up because the complaints are small and the place was very good in general.

Yelp
Live nearby and come occasionally to the modern and spacious MI Cafe (not found separately on Yelp as of this writing ) for coffee, the coffee is fresh and served quickly though a small notch down from Dunkin. Am a Platinum lifetime with Marriott and did a staycation here last winter when rates were low also. Fairly typical of the newly renovated Marriott look and feel with laminate wood floors and more neutral color design, rooms are clean as well. Whether you liked it or not probably depends a lot on what price you paid and whether it was on the dime of a big corporation or not, my entrepreneur friends visiting often opt for the AC as rates here can be as high as $700 per night during busy times.

Yelp
Stay was excellent from beginning to end. The hotel is spotlessly clean, as were the rooms. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and the shower had nice products. All of the staff were very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was great. I did also have lunch one day, and the club sandwich was perfection! I love those French fries. As a bonvoy member, I had requested early check in, it wasn't ready as early as I had asked, but I still got in my room at least 2 hours early! Which is just a very nice bonus. My peers and I have enjoyed our stay here several times when we've been in the area visiting clients. It's a very convenient location, with lots of restaurants close by.

Yelp
There are high expectations for the Marriott hotel next to its HQ building, and Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ meets them. The hotel is a beautiful and well-designed space. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and a shoutout goes to Bryon at the front desk. This is a nice place to visit and stay at. The lobby is a bright and welcoming social space with the floor-to-ceiling windows. Seventh State Restaurant is the lobby bar and restaurant that serves Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and has a bustling happy hour from 3 to 6 P.M. daily. The M Club Lounge is located in the lobby too, and it is a spacious room with plenty of seating. I had breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres in the lounge. There was a good selection of high-quality food for both meal periods. The bacon at breakfast was so delicious, and the server told me that it is locally sourced. There is a self-serve wine dispenser that is turned on during the hors d'oeuvres session. The guest rooms are spacious. I am not a fan of carpet, so I was happy to see wood flooring. Like the lobby, the guest rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, which allow for plenty of light. The bed was comfortable. I slept well. Hip Flask Rooftop Bar is located on the top floor and is worth visiting whether or not you are staying at the hotel. The view is amazing. Unfortunately, the outdoor space was closed on the night that I visited due to the windy weather, but it is a great space to hang out at when the weather is nice. I was still able to enjoy the sunset from inside though thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. Hip Flask is a good space to enjoy a drink and the view, but I recommend eating dinner at Seventh State first before heading up since Hip Flask only a small food menu of a few appetizers. The location of this hotel is super convenient. It is right next to Marriott's headquarters building. It is also near the Metro station and Bethesda Row. I was in Bethesda for a business trip. I have no idea if or when I will be in Bethesda again, but I want to stay here again the next time that I am in town.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this hotel! The location is super close to the Metro, the M Lounge is spacious and the rooms are fresh. We were with a larger group and although the lobby and bar offer a lot of space, the service leaves something to be desired. We were either taken care of promptly or kind of ignored. Drinks and food were excellent. The rooftop bar is cute but loud.

Yelp
Great hotel. Good location. Greeted by front desk staff, Seth who was very kind and helpful. Wife and I are old and Seth checked us check in and helped carry our luggage up with a smile. I'll stay here again the next time we return later this year.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Marriott in downtown Bethesda. The hotel is very modern and clean. Extremely happy with the price point as well. Valet was easy (typical price at $40/night). Reception and service were outstanding. The only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars is because there are no food options! The restaurant and bar have very very very limited hours. Not so great when you're super hungry, but good for the waistline, I suppose. Other than that, I'll consider staying here again when I visit Bethesda.

Yelp
Amazing business hotel visit. It even smelled new. My room was very prepared. The bed was ultra comfortable. This will be my first choice hotel in Downtown Bethesda going forward. Nice lobby bar with food offerings. An excellent rooftop bar with above and beyond service!! Easy access to Wisconsin St and short walk to Downtown Bethesda bars and restaurants. A short walk to the metro.

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood. Newest Marriott - located right next to the Marriott International Headquarters - so expect all the power players to show up here in the future. Looks like a suburban office tower, but inside there is lovely and detailed casework at the check-in desk and near the elevators. Hallway carpets are lush and absorb sound. Rooms are spacious and have nice design details - from the lighting to the excellent showers (huge, rain shower heads and plenty of room for two). M Club on site if you have status. Lobby bar is solid - yet at the time of this writing, still evolving (it's new). Hotel restaurant is was top notch - especially breakfast - bacon was incredible and the open face lox sandwich - incredible. And, the coffee was quality - rich, flavorful and bold. And for those looking for a workout - the fitness center has top notch equipment and a decent store view. Located in the heart of downtown Bethesda, it is only a 10 minute walk from the Metro Red Line stop - so there you go. Oh - and don't forget the signature Marriott beds - wrapped into comfort.li

Yelp
We loved the hotel. Everything was great. Our room was huge and the shower had nice pressure. But it is somewhat expensive to eat & drink here. Just be aware. Lots of places to walk too. Parking is $45 a day for valet but there is plenty of public parking (we used the one across the street). Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Very spacious rooms, nicely appointed, and friendly staff. Rooms are also very quiet, despite having neighbors. The only reason I'm listing 4/5 stars is because the on-site restaurant and bar are closed indefinitely. That was one of the main reasons we selected this property, as we did not want to have to travel or walk to other establishments for dinner.

Yelp
Great hotel amenities-wise, but Room 717 had a 4" x 4" air vent 'return' top of the wall facing the bed that was VERY loud. Don't know if all rooms have; had my Beats Flex in my ears most of the two nights I was there on a weekend last month. Check out the room first. Slept poorly.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and amazing location. Highly recommend. Bethesda is such a nice area.

Yelp
I actually do not like the fact that of giving this hotel such a bad review because there are a lot of things to like. It's very clean and modern, hotel staff is friendly and the room design and setup is top notch. The hotel restaurant was great also. So what's the catch......THE BED. Wow, I absolutely shocked at how bad the mattress was, really??? It was almost like sleeping on pillows on the floor. I could tell when I first sat on the mattress that it just didn't feel right and boy was it the truth. I woke up with half of my body in pain the next morning and I was not the only one. I stay in room 408 if anyone from the hotel would like to make that mattress is not different from any other room in the hotel. I can not imagine ever staying here again even though it's right across the street from the theatre. I usually stay at the AC hotel that's a few block away and always said I would check out the Marriott HQ one night. I know now that AC is where I will stay whenever I'm in Bethesda.

Yelp
Lodging, location, front desk, house keeping and parking attendants all fantastic! Bartenders at the lobby lounge are pretty bad. Very slow! Don't know how to look around to pay attention to customers. We had a female bartender training a male bartender. She had no concept of ensuring a good hotel guest experience while trying to track a new bartender how to make a drink. It took way too long to make a Margarita on the rocks... 7 minutes. Also, what's with the dehydrated fruit slices? They add no beauty to the drinks. If it's a bottom line saver, you're not looking at "presentation" to the customers. They look unappetizing. My recommendation: teach seasoned bartenders "customers come first" and get rid of the dehydrated fruit. BTW- the seasoned bartender was offended when she asked, "how was the margarita", and I replied, "It took too long to make." Don't ask the question if you don't want to hear an honest answer.

Yelp
Do not stay here if you have ptsd or cannot sleep through helicopters buzzing the hotel. Also no concessions or convenience store in the hotel!

Yelp
Really? Bad service? Ok, I get it, we're not staying at a boutique hotel. But for a brand new facility with headquarters across the street, I guess I expected better service. Online concierge suggested that we go to the rooftop bar with our baby to celebrate our anniversary. The hostess let us in, and then Alfredo Espinoza said it was a liability to let us in with the stroller. So we suggested we take it down to our room. He said he didn't feel comfortable having the baby in the bar. It's a classy establishment, it was day time, no one was drunk, what's the problem? So even though we can have drinks at the lobby bar, we can't drink upstairs? We have status with Marriott, and as frequent travelers, we were looking forward to maintaining some sort of status with the hotel. After this humiliating experience and encounter with Alfredo, we'll be staying elsewhere. If this is supposed to be a premier location and experience, you've got it all wrong.
