Great Italian restaurant. Have been here 3 times. Tried several of the pasta dishes. All were extremely large portions. My husband loves the meatball sandwich. My favorite so far is the linguini. We still have not tried the pizza. Will definitely do that in the future. There is 2 dining rooms. One can be rather echoing and loud. The other is more quiet even when full. Staff is very pleasant. Only complaints are that parking is sometimes very difficult as the lot of the strip mall is tiny and there is limited street parking. One time we had planned to dine there but left because we couldn’t get parking for over 15 minutes. Our only other complaint was the garlic bread. The bread was really good however whatever they put on it did not taste good at all. We couldn’t even taste the garlic. We asked our wait person and they said that it has paprika garlic and Parmesan. We think it was the paprika. Would not get that again. Our friend joined us for dinner last night and she also did not like it. That was the 3rd time I tried it and it always disappointed me. That’s kind of a big deal as I love garlic bread. But we will still go back to try the pizza.

If you want to feel at home this is your place. They treat you like family. Beware the portions are big. I suggest you share. I had the baked ziti, we also ordered pizza, cheese bread, fettuccine, and meal came with a salad and homemade dressings. The flavors were on point. A must visit if your hungry and craving carbtacular meals.

Google
This place blew us away. Portions are big. Servers are very attentive and friendly. The internet system was down, giving the workers an obstacle of cash only. They didn't let it get in their way, they were rockstars. Definitely want to come back again with friends and family.

Google
The food was amazing, and the service was incredible. It all started with a yummy bruschetta!! Then i fell in love with the pasta; it was so rich and delicious. We also tried the pepperoni, Hawaiian, and Marris special pizzas, and they were the most delicious pizzas I've ever had. The chicken wings were unmatched, oven-cooked, and the ranch sauce was so yummy and homemade! I can't wait to come back here again.

Google
Marri's has a homey, comfortable, casual atmosphere and the waitress was great. Very friendly and attentiive. And, ohhh, the pizza!!! Absolutely fantastic! I've only dined at one other restaurant that has pizza that can even come close to comparing with theirs. They will now be the new standard by which I judge any other pizza. And most others don't or won't come close!

Google
Marri’s pizza is one of the last great values around in Long Beach. We carry out as they don’t deliver - parking can be challenging in complex - but always worth it. Great service & delish pizza.

Google
Last night six of us went to this restaurant. We are attending a conference and were looking for good food for a reasonable price. We called and they graciously allowed us to make a reservation. The restaurant is in a strip mall and the smells in the area were not good. We ventured in a little dubiously however we did not need to be concerned. Great service, fabulous food, VERY reasonable prices. Strongly recommend 🎉🎉

Google
Love Marri's! My favorite pizza restaurant! Been a customer for over 50 years. Don't live in the area anymore but always truth visit when I am near. Spaghetti is good too!

Yelp
Happy to return to Marri's for delicious, Nonna approved family recipes and friendly service. To start, we like to get the side of 2 meatballs in meat sauce - SO YUMMY! Then we can focus on our mains. I decided on the Asparagus & Artichoke Salad($17), adding chicken breast(+$6). It was HUGE! The chicken was warm on top, which I personally love. I know most places add cold chicken breast, but somehow it just feels fresher when served warm from the kitchen. At Marri's it looks like they even simmer it a bit in some tomato. Not enough to look like a sauce, just enough to give it a little extra "life" and keep it nice and moist/juicy - perfect! Lots of flavor, lots of black olives, asparagus, artichoke, chopped tomatoes and fresh greens. Delicious! I ate half and took half to go. Hubs went with meat ravioli in meat sauce and it was SO YUM! He was kind enough to leave me some sauce, but not so generous to allow even a small bite of ravioli, so I'll have to take his word that they were as delicious as they looked. lol We haven't tried their pizza yet, but from what I've seen coming out of the kitchen, that also looks pretty darn good. The restaurant has an interesting design, with a large waiting area for those picking up orders. Back where the tables are, there are a four(? Five?) booths along the wall with steps up to them and a small room of about 8 more tables. Cozy and lots of interesting art representing the LB area. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Plenty of free parking in the lot and along the street. When we're in Long Beach area and craving down home Italian comfort food, we head to Marri's. Cheers! "CC"

Yelp
We finally got to try this place and boy, it was good! The owner's daughter brought us our food and was welcoming. We ordered lasagna and it came in a pretty ceramic dish. We really enjoyed it. My son had spaghetti & meatballs and their garlic bread is unbelievable, cheesy and creamy and garlicky. The phones were ringing off the hook and the restaurant slowly started to get busy too-on a rainy day. I like how nostalgic the place feels with The Queen Mary sign among Long Beach staples but it would be cool of they had great black & white photography or something cool on the walls. The booths are great, spacious and hooks to hang your coats is awesome. Cant wait to be back and try more items!

Yelp
Have been going here for MANY years, has been my number 1 for local pizza. However, I'm going to move you to my Number 2, as I think I just found my numero uno, see my recent post to see my new number 1. At any rate, still a loyal follower of Marris, I like their crust/cheese and Ambience. Would go 7.4 on the Portnoy Barstool scale...

Yelp
I've been coming here since the 70's. It has definitely changed as far the staff goes. I found the manager to be very rude. The food is still decent. I went to the Marri's of Katella in Anaheim. The service was fantastic, albeit a different menu. I believe at one time the family owned both locations. Judging by the response the manager gave to a negative review back in September, it's clear that her interperso nal skills can use some improvement. I'm not going to pay for rudeness no matter how good the food is.

Yelp
Fabulous Food! From the salad, bread, (the soup looked good but I didn't have it), to the entree, everything was plentiful (as in generous servings!) and delicious! My boss has been coming to this family owned restaurant for decades, and was delighted to see them visiting (daughters are now in charge, got to see their retired parental visit when we were exiting) as they greet their loyal patrons! It has been remodeled through the years and has cozy tables and areas for larger parties. My boss said they've tried everything through the years and they are consistently all yummy! He had Chicken Limone and I had the Chicken Parmesan. So good - and we both had leftovers!!! He opted for fettuccine and I went with spaghetti and meat sauce (I had several choices of noodles and sauces, including marinara). Super reasonable prices with great value! There is a little parking lot and some street parking, but there's several popular businesses using it - so after several passes, we parked in the neighborhood and walked. We'll return when work brings us back to CA!

Yelp
Amazing!!! Will come here again for the Italian sausage Sando Get it with all the fixings

Yelp
I got the Minestrone Soup and Marri's Verranzano with chicken. Soup was okay, bread was soft but not garlicky. Tortellini was perfectly cooked, super cheesy, and a huge portion. My boyfriend and his parents got calzones,, one large, two mediums. They were massive! Easily 2-4 meals each. We loved that they use ricotta inside (rare to find in Long Beach), and they didn't skimp on cheese. The marinara was great, but the Alfredo sauce really stood out. So rich and flavorful! The staff was super welcoming and friendly. They checked on us throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed. Only minor complaints: calzones were a bit too bready, ricotta was only in the center, and garlic butter wasn't garlicky. Still, everything tasted great and we had plenty to bring home!

Yelp
Such a cute little Italian Restaurant! My boyfriend's parents took us out to dinner here because they have loved coming since they went to Cal State Long Beach, there's definitely a reason it's stayed in their hearts for so long. The service was great, everyone was very kind and we were constantly being checked on. For food, we go the Meat Lover's Pizza, Fettucini Alfredo, and Garlic Bread. The Garlic Bread was so good I could have eaten just that for the whole meal. The pizza was ginormous and the cheese pull was insane. The Alfredo was also very good, and very classic. I would definitely come here again!

Yelp
Been to marris 2 times. First time the lady owner embarrssed her co-worker. 2nd time she was rude to me and the co-worker. Charges 20.00 for a meatball sandwhich. She had a problem with that and walked away. I feel for these co-workers that work for her. The abuse that they get. Will not go back ever. She need to change her attuide

Yelp
Been coming here for over 23 years and it never disappoints. The food is AMAZING! I always get the Shrimp Verrazano and i have enough left overs for 2 days. Very clean and cute place. Service is always perfect Kathleen is a rock star!

Yelp
Gah, this is ANOTHER local spot that I've been to a million times and have never reviewed! Shame on me. This is a must-go in Long Beach. My family from out of town INSISTS we go every time they visit. We usually do take-out for some reason, but every time we dine in, it always feels like we're dining with family. The staff here is always so warm, kind, and welcoming. The food is phenomenal. It's thick ooey gooey slices of pizza with extremely generous toppings. The pasta is so flavorful and always comes piping hot- we love the pink sauce. My kids are obsessed with the salad because it comes with thick slices of fresh mozzarella and the ranch is homemade. You cannot beat the Marri's Family special. It's $38 and it feeds our family of 4 two entire meals. You HAVE to check this place out- just bring a little patience for the small parking lot. It's worth the wait for a spot!

Yelp
Average Italian comfort food prepared by non-Italians but served in a comfortable and friendly neighborhood eatery. The layout of the restaurant is interesting, and feels more like a maze than the traditional open layout. Many booths are situated on a platform, which may restrict access for some patrons with mobility issue. The salad was fresh and the pizza toppings were plentiful, but there wasn't anything special about the taste. The crust was thick, but it bothered my wife more than me. For the quantity of food, it represents an economical way to satiate your hunger.

Yelp
That waitress. The one with the dark hair, knowing eyes and cheeky smile...man, she's got it goin' on....the perfect front person for this establishment that's been feeding people fresh, homemade everything since nineteen fifty freakin' seven. That's a looong time to perfect things. And things here are perfect. It was our first time. THAT waitress says to us: "Listen, since you've never been here before, I am HIGHLY recommending two things: split a sandwich and a pizza. They are the best around. The sauces here are all homemade. The meats we serve are the best, bar none." I'm leaving that a recommendation for you, Yelp Reader...I SO wish we could've done those things but it was lunch and we were both working that night and needed to eat light. NEXT TIME, we are there. What we had (which was ridiculously good): JUICY HAZY IPA COKE STEAMED SEASONED VEGETABLES SIDE MEATBALLS SIDE SAUSAGES The meatballs were DENSE! Thick, beefy and seasoned to perfection. And, the sausage was tender and delicious beyond compare. Absolutely loved those garden vegetables - they did them up right. To THAT waitress, whoever you are, WE HEAR YOU! Marri's truly rocks. See you soon, sistah'!

Yelp
Though there are lots of interesting pizza places in our area, we love old school traditional pizza, and Italian food, having grown up in Chicago. Marri's has been a staple in the area for many years. They offer the usual topping choices, but what makes them stand out is the real crumbled Italian sausage they use. Very hard to find since our old neighborhood joint Francelli's closed. The vibe is casual, the service friendly and low key. Prices are competitive with the newer, trendier places- a little high but it is a full service restaurant. We dined in for pizza and took advantage of a deal they were offering so the price was a bit less. The vegetarian pizza was chock full of veggies, the crust was not too thick but with a good chew and nicely browned. The sausage pizza was meaty and flavorful. We want to return and try some of their specialties and pasta dishes. They all sound so good! They also serve sandwiches, wine and beer.

Yelp
Best experience I ever have.Is this restaurant? The food was very delicious for that. I recommend this place to everybody

Yelp
Pizza is amazing . I go there as much as i can. I love how the cheese covers the toppings
google avatar

John Z.

Yelp
The owner is VERY involved in the business. She purchased all the original recipes along with the business and she adheres to taste and quality from decades ago. The BEST Pizza i have ever had in California or this side of Chicago. Great servers that have been there decades and a clean family environment. Of the hundreds of meals only had a problem once and she made it right immediately. Simply the best food and a fine example of pride of ownership.

Jack R.

Yelp
The pizza, make it your self, was terrific with Italian . You can request regular or thin crust. Give yourself a chance to experience this restaurant.

Yelp
This is a wonderful old school place. The owners and staff are so kind and helpful, even the customers! The food is incredible, had Ceasar salad and Marri's Pizza, both unique and delicious! Will be back for sure!
google avatar

Rudy M.

Yelp
This is for their pizza. I had it a long time ago with a friend but after trying it again. I can safely add Marri's to my pizza lineup. Perfect crisp. Plenty of ingredients. Not bad for one person to enjoy and be full. Happy to grab another and take it down the way.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, seated within a few seconds.. -tiramisu? Banger -Matterhorn deluxe? More than delux -garlic pesto bread? Spotlight of the show. Thank you, Tawny!
google avatar

Cyndi C.

Yelp
Very good spaghetti and meatballs. I drive from OC for this food. Large portions and perfect house herb salad dressing. I'm not a fan of their pizza, dough is too thick.
google avatar

Jharvis L.

Yelp
Customer service was quick and great. The chicken parm was crispy and not soggy as if it had been sitting out a while, so I really appreciate that. And the cheese pull from the mozarella sticks was amazing. Minus one star for using cleaner at the adjacent tables while we were eating. I'd rather have a damp cloth used because the strong chemical scent of the spray did interfere with my enjoyment of the food. If anything, use that cleaner/spray when ending the day and closing up shop? Otherwise, it was a pretty good dining experience!

Yelp
I only been here once with some co-workers who said the pizza is really cheesy and good. So I decided to take my mom here who loves Cheese. We got seated right away and I love the cozyness of the place. We order a medium 2 topping pizza and I got angel hair pasta with meat sauce and 2 meat balls. First we got the salad. Huge bowl of salad that could feed 3 or 4 people. It was really good. It was chopped and had tiny cubed crotons. Plenty of salad dressing as well. Ice cold chilled plates to serve them on. Those are the details I like. The pizza comes and it is thick with cheese. Oh my goodness. This pizza was amazing. Thick layer of cheese and tons of toppings layered underneath. The crust was perfect, good flavor and crispy. The Spaghetti was amazing. The meat sauce was divine, the might balls were ok, not amazing but pretty good. They also give you garlic bread. The garlic bread was insanely good. It was soft and had a nice layer of butter on top. Went so well with that meat sauce. Also the portion was huge. You can split this between 2 or even 3 people. They have amazing beer and wine. I got 2 beers, served ICE cold in a frosty glass with perfect head. It stayed ice cold until the last drop. Service was amazing. We had the best server. She was so sweet and even packed the left overs for us. I loved that. Got us a little baggy and even asked if we wanted some cheese and peppers to go. I mean that's so thoughtful. Just a disclaimer to the management if they are reading this. The % for tip did not match what was said on the receipt. We calculated the 20% and it was more then the receipt said. I really hope these ladies are getting the correct tip amounts. I would double check on this. And I advise the servers start double checking the tip% numbers at the bottom just incase. Other than that, the parking is a nightmare. We got extremely lucky and got a spot as someone was pulling out. So plan ahead and you might need to circle in and out of the lot a few times. Great Italian food, Amazing Beer and Wine, Wonderful Service. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
** Amazing Service & Delicious Pizza - Thanks to Connie!** I recently ordered from **Marri's Pizza**, and I have to say, not only was the food fantastic, but the service was outstanding--thanks to **Connie**, the beautiful and professional young lady who helped me. From the moment I called in my order, Connie was **polite, attentive, and clear** in her communication. When I arrived to pick up my food, she made sure everything was correct by going over my order with me, which I really appreciated. It's rare to find someone who takes such care in ensuring customer satisfaction. Not only is Connie **friendly and efficient**, but she also has a natural talent for customer service. She's definitely **management material**--Marri's Pizza is lucky to have her! As for the pizza? **Absolutely delicious!** Fresh ingredients, perfect crust, and great flavor. I'll definitely be coming back, especially knowing that Connie provides such excellent service. **Highly recommend Marri's Pizza--and ask for Connie when you go!**

Yelp
Marri's is the best! If you're hungry and want to fill up, get the family meal.. pizza, spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, great price, and excellent food. The service is quick whether you're sitting inside or taking to go. Always clean and comfortable inside, everything on the menu is good.
google avatar

Chad K.

Yelp
It gets the job done and is affordable. Standard Italian fare at a fair price. The pizza crust was giving me middle school cafeteria vibes, which can either be a good or a bad thing depending on the person. It is not a sophisticated or unique experience. Lots of cheese, run-of-the-mill Italian food. Serving size is quite generous and prices are great for what you get. Service is bad. Very slow and inattentive. We were there at 5:30pm on a Tuesday. Took 20 min to get drinks out to us and 45 min for our food. We had to keep walking around the corner to ask for this or that. There are some large blind spots in the restaurant and they can easily sit you off in some corner and forget about you. They seem to focus on their take out orders and focus their energy there. If we ate here again, I would get it to go. I would definitely not dine in again.
google avatar

Ronni T.

Yelp
I had a fine dining experience tonight. I haven't been here in a decade or so. The pizza is exactly how I remembered. The service was great. I got a few sauces to take home to make my life easier for dinners next week. I'm very full and satisfied. And since I was dining alone the music was on point.

Michael N.

Yelp
What an AMAZING restaurant! Stopped in tonight on a whim and ordered three dinner plates to go and they were delicious! Spaghetti, fettuccini Alfredo and a penne chicken with a mix of red and cream sauce. I asked if anything had nuts and the owner/manager (not sure, I'm sorry) was so kind to take time to explain to me how they purposely don't use any nut related ingredients to ensure the health and well being of everyone- love that, considering my daughter has a severe nut allergy. Staff at the take out line was also friendly and very well organized, I was in and out real quick. I definitely recommend this place! 10 out of 10 hands down!

Jenn L.

Yelp
My family and I love Marri's! We have been coming to this establishment for over 15 years. The food is delicious and the staff is always friendly! Parking can be difficult at times in the lot but you can always find street parking. The Marri's special and baked ziti are tasty!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, it had been about 50 years since I've been to Marri''s. I must say, it was amazing! Delicious meat lovers 14 inch pizza for about $24. So big we could only finish one piece each. Friendly independent family place. I won't be waiting another 50 years to go back.

Francisco M.

Yelp
Did not like the pizza, somewhat salty. Also no parking whatsoever. Ambiance could be updated. Overall 2 stars, thanks.

Yelp
Visiting here in LB, noticed this place opens on a Saturday at 11, Labor Day weekend. I drive there, 11:10 am, door closed. Nobody answers the phone. They just lost a customer.

Yelp
This place gets constantly hyped by people in Long Beach, especially in the food group on Facebook. I like to support small businesses, and was interested in the fact they have been around since the '60's, so I ordered a pizza and took the drive over. It's in an old school shopping plaza and has a funky design with no windows in front. I went inside, and it definitely had that 60's/70's pizzeria vibe, which I appreciate. And that's where the positives end. I was the only customer there, and there was an older woman out front when I arrived. She took her sweet time acknowledging me, although I could see my order sitting right in front. She finally grumpily approaches, and barks, "Yes?" I politely asked for my order. At that moment, an older man came in. Instead of saying, "I'll be right with you, sir", she completely ignored me and started helping him instead! I don't remember the last time I was blatantly treated so rudely in a restaurant. I don't know if she was sexist, or hates women who are younger than her, or just hates her job/life, but I should have left the pizza and walked! My mistake! So after the man was helped and left, this woman FINALLY lowered herself to help me, and she said, "Have a blessed day sweetie!" What a joke. You know what else was a joke? The pizza. Seasoning exists, try using it. The sausage had some disgusting grit in it, and I was left with an upset stomach. Flavorless, flabby trash pizza. And that's exactly where the rest of it went- right in the garbage. The '60's are long gone, and it's time for this place to be gone, too.

Yelp
Fantastic family pizza joint. Homemade deliciousness around every corner. Everything is seriously tasty! Pick up is always fast and easy too.

Yelp
Was at a conference at the nearby Anaheim convention looking to celebrate my birthday with friends at a local restaurant nearby and had researched Marri's and found good reviews. The walk and visit were well worth it. We arrived to a bustling restaurant but were seated in about 15 minutes without a reservation. Giuliana was our waitress and gave us some suggestions which we followed. She was great! Our group had: A bottle of Malbec Minestrone soup Fried Calamari Chicken Piccata Lasagna Tour of Italy (fettuccine Alfredo, ravioli and lasagna) A small pizza with everything on it (I forget the name on the menu) Cannoli We loved all of our choices and our food! The minestrone was perfectly executed and my friends scarfed up their calamari leaving nothing behind. The mains were all hugely portioned (there were leftovers) but again well executed from an establishment that has existed longer than my life (I was celebrating my 53rd birthday). The piccata was completely gone and my friend devoured 2/3 or his Tour taking his lasagna portion home. Halves of the solely lasagna order and the pizza also went home simply because the portions were all so generous. The food was what we imagined and expected and craved from a local American Italian spot and Marri's nailed it and hit it out of the park. One of our party has a Mouseland pass and she's definitely coming back as a perfect dining alternative for her park visits and it definitely makes the recommendation cut for future convention center visits for all of us! Thank you Marri's and Giuliana for giving us an outstanding local dining experience in Anaheim!

Yelp
Wow this place is very unique!!!! Everyone was amazing and treated us like royalty!!! A++++ Sincerely, your bella royale dominican customer!!!!

Yelp
Old school feel. Service was really good but food was ok. We had pasta and it was just ok. Would not be my go to place for pasta. Maybe I'll try the pizza next time.
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
This is NOT what you want to find in your angel hair pasta! Too lazy to pull the leaves off the basil? They chopped up and threw all the stems in too! Bitter. Hard. Chewy. Ridiculous! Who does that?
google avatar

Margaret R.

Yelp
The older lady upfront is a little rude. Looks like she can't handle stress or busyness. Other than that, the food is great. The garlic bread does not not taste like garlic garlic bread, though it looks red. I don't know what they put on it, but I know there has been several comments about the garlic bread not good. The time waiting for food takes a little longer. The waitresses are really nice and pleasant overall I love the food and I love going there!

Yelp
Wanted to try a new Italian spot in the City so dropped by Marri's. Very old school feel to the place with deep roots. Family or guest photos around the place and friendly staff all around. Service to be seated was quick & our waitress was polite. Meatball plate was delicious! Chicken liking plate was cooked good but the sauce/flavor was very very strong but I suppose if you LOVE lemon, this may be the dish for you. The only two con I have for this place was the wait and parking. From the time we were seated it took roughly 40 minutes before our food came out & when it came to parking there is a very small lot for the amount of store fronts. We had to circle around a few times before seeing someone leave for us to park.
google avatar

Kate T.

Yelp
We have been going to Marri's for many years. They have amazing pizzas and pastas. This is an old school place that you hope never goes away!
google avatar

Romana P.

Yelp
This was our first time eating pasta here! We tried the pizza before and it was good. We had 3 different pasta dishes and they were okay. Portions were huge so you can plan to share it. We all took home more than half of our food. Service was great! The dessert was tasty according to my daughter, hehe! We will return to try other dishes since we live so close by.

David Q.

Yelp
The lunch specials here are great. It's still the same good food with great service. It's not as busy like later in the evening but nothing changes. I requested a cold Italian sandwich which is not on the menu. That's when we found out they bake their own bread. YES! They bake their own bread. The sandwich was like they made it in deli.
google avatar

Susan J.

Yelp
Referred by a friend. I was intrigued when she said the topping were under the cheese. Restaurant was clean on the inside and out. Inside has the feel of a nostalgic pizza parlor. The family meal had a bit of everything so that's what we ordered: cheese pizza (we added sausage & pepperoni @$2.75/each topping), salad, bread and spaghetti & meat (or tomato sauce). Pizza was delicious as was the salad. We were too full for the pasta but I love leftovers! Will definitely recommend.

Yelp
We love Marris. Ordered take out for my birthday recently. Chicken Bella Marris, Gnocchi with Marinara, Mozzarella Sticks, Spaghetti and Meatballs and Cheese Pizza. Yum! Great friendly service. My daughter and I dine in for special days like last day of school. Always enjoy the hospitality and ambiance. Old school.

Yelp
Had couple 12 inch pizzas .. struck me odd that the crust was so perfect no bubbles no high or low burnt spots .. they were both RAW cold dough inside . Took them home to reheat but still weird crust .... In my opinion these are like boboli frozen prepackaged crusts. You can tell by the seam around the rim and the pre punctured pin holes in the bottom. Y u c k ! In all fairness the caesar salad was great.

Yelp
Got pizza delivered to workplace and the pizza was AHHHHH-MAZING!!! (Do I hear angels singing?!?!) I generally don't like thick pizza, but for Marri's, I'm in love! We got the Meat Lovers, and the A La Nicola. So good! The cheesiness was perfect, the toppings were generous, flavorful and most importantly fresh! Cant wait to order from them again!

Yelp
When we got there the server was busy and that's understandable she was the only one. She was just rude and there wasn't really anyone there. The food took long and the pizza came out doughy barely eatable I have to take it home to cook it more. Just disappointed for the price and service heard good things about it. Thirty wasn't worth it.
