"This East African café and restaurant serves traditional dishes from Sudan, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. Order the Meat Lovers Combo to sample chicken zigni (an Eritrean dish similar to doro wot), beef tibsi (red chili stew) and lamb alicha (Ethiopian curry). MarRosso also offers pasta and Milanese dishes introduced to Eritrean cuisine by Italian colonists, and occasionally hosts live music." - W. Trace Miller

Brand new place, service is great. If you want anything special done with your dish just ask, they’re extremely accommodating. Only took off a star because the ambiance could use a little bit of work, but otherwise definitely go here if you’re looking for an authentic, hole-in-the-wall experience!

This was my first visit. I love lamb, and spicy foods, so I ordered the Lamb Tibsi, which comes with enjera. It was tastefully amazing!!! It was so good, i didn't want to stopping eating. Yet the entree portion is so large, there was no way I could eat it all, in one sitting. I'll be going back to try other spicy entrees.

First time coming here and I had a great experience. Definitely recommend this restaurant! I had the VEGAN shiro (chick peas stew) which was so good and served traditionally which is always a plus. I also had kemem shayi (spiced tea) and it was amazing. I’m a tea fanatic so trust me you will never go wrong with my review on tea. Most of all, I loved the atmosphere. It was clean, soft music playing, customer service was above expectations. One thing I noticed which isn’t really important but I had to say is the bathroom smelled really good. Whatever they had in there was working. Check this place out. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

When my daughter's dad comes to town, we usually enjoy a family meal at Gojo's but we decided to try something new this time. My daughter begged her dad and I to go to to our usual place but we convinced her to try a new place. I must say that my daughter's intuition was on point. The food at Marosso was okay. The fish tibs (goulash) was not seasoned very well at all. I hope they didn't see we are Americans and decided to go "light" on us :-( The whole purpose of going to eat other ethnic cuisines is to experience flavor profiles that we may not be able to cook at home. Her dad was disappointed that the venue was too modern. He likes places that have a more cultural aesthetic, but hey I have never been to East Africa (he has, but that was at least a decade ago). All in all, we ate the food with no complaints but I will stick to what I know from now on.

Hidden treasure within Richardson. The vegetarian platter is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. Wide range of food and very affordable.

Delicious food and a courteous, friendly staff, who were very patient explaining the cuisine to the uninitiated. I forgot to snap a picture of the entree (lamb and vegetables), but the macchiato was excellent as well.
