Wow. I had to actually crack my knuckles before I wrote this. I reached out to Mars Cars, LLC on July 31, 2021 wanting to buy a Gem e4 vehicle which the Sales rep "Shawn" said they had one in stock. I was hoping to get it delivered by my anniversary on August 7th. This is admittedly quick, but they insisted it was no problem. The only issue was that I wanted back doors because I have small children and even the doors may not be enough to convince my wife that they could ride in it. Again they said no problem as they actually had 2 vehicles, now but needed to see how long it would be before the doors could be added. I was approved by Sheffield Financial, but they told me a few days before delivery day that it would be 2-3 weeks before the back doors could be installed. At this point I had already put down nearly $7k. I told them no need to tie up that kind of money. I will wait the 3 weeks, which could easily be 4 or 5 weeks, but to send back $6k of the money. It took 5 days for them to process that and I was charged about $550 in merchant fees since it was a credit card. I was willing to eat the $550 if I was getting my car. I find out a week later that the whole order was cancelled, with no notice, and they sent back my $1k deposit also via a check sent to the house they thought was correct. I told them I did not want to cancel I want the car. They stopped returning calls. When I finally got Shawn on the line he said No problem. I'm walking into a meeting with Polaris right now and I will see how long it will take to get your back doors and I will get you back on track, today. A week goes by. Nothing. I have called the owner Nick Dia Villa no less than 5x with no call back. I'm exhausted just writing and thinking about this. A few weeks later when I could get to THAT house I found out that the check was not there. I also after more research found out that they overcharge for the cars by about $10k. After MORE research I found out that you can not get doors just in the back...you have to get all 4 doors. I have an order now at another dealership and of course I want to cancel the whole relationship here, but I should not have to pay merchant fees for an order that I did not originally cancel, but here I sit. Out $1500, gearing up to call Polaris, my attorney, and the Better Business Bureau because these guys talk fast and say whatever you want to hear but can not f*ng deliver. Run don't walk. It's been endless texts, emails and bullsh*t. I will attach the invoice from them and from the new dealership soon and update on progress as it's made.
**UPDATE** It's 9/20/21. They sent me $20.00 less than my $1k cash deposit and really could give two f*s about even communicating with me about the fees. There will be more to say and do here.
